A bit dated but great facilities for river and lake fishers

Two heaters. One didn't work. The other had a melted control panel. Noisy trucks through the night.

Location was perfect, we were driving to Wellington with a big furniture trailer and there was plenty of room to park and turn around. We arrived late on a cold evening, and Ross had turned the heaters on, all was cosy and snug. It was quiet; there was a good area to walk our Labrador. It was exactly what we required. We only wished we weren’t limited for time, because we would have loved to explore the beautiful area (there was great information provided)

There was nothing we didn’t like

Everything was great, reminded me of bach I used to stay in years ago. Totally set up for a family to stay, space, full kitchen for cooking meals if you want, extra blankets etc, even books to read and TV to watch. Right in Turangi township so easy access to supplies and eating out if you don't feel like cooking. I could easily imagine making this place a base for a period of time while exploring the area. The couple running the place were lovely too, best place I've stayed in for a long time, will definitely stay here again.

Great for dogs. River path close by, great covered carport, even had a movable fence to keep the dogs in. Close to shops.

Road noise in this unit makes it suitable for deaf people like me. Trucks sound like they are coming in the door

We stayed for just one night prior to walking the Tongariro Crossing, a perfect location was it wasn't far to drive to get to the shuttle bus the following morning. It was very quiet and peaceful, the rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. The surrounding gardens were lovely and the grounds well kept. Close to shops and eateries.

The stovetop wasn't working as efficiently as it could have but we managed.

We were surprised by a very dead cockroach in the Milo jar!

The owners were wonderful, friendly and accomodating. A perfect dog frienly place to stay as the rooms face out from each other with a huge area for dogs across the road. The rooms were cosy with everything you could possibly need with beds that were very comfortable. Undercover carparks outside your door and a very quiet area.

Nothing, I would definately stay there again.

The smell in the flat. The sound of the main road disturbing sleep. The cockroach on the carpet was friendly, we looked it up, it's an endemic species seeking warmth so no harm done

The friendly staff and the great location. The rooms were spacious and clean. The free washing machine and dryer were right by the trampoline so I could do the washing while my toddler grandchildren played

Strange start on arrival, when we booked 8 mths before, at a cost of $150 to be told that was too cheap as their rooms are $170. Then to be told they had given us an upgrade which we didn’t want. Anyway great two bedrooms with four beds, living room, bathroom , kitchen all for the two of us to rattle around in. Nice clean tidy unit for our stay.

The staff were very welcoming and space in rooms good too. The use of free laundry facilities was very welcome.

The furnishings were a little past their best - looked a little tired and in need of replacenment, particularly the refrigerator.

Our unit was very dated. Bed duvets and coverlets were old, towels although plentiful were worn, and there was no shampoo and conditioner provided.

We had a wonderful time. Plentiful supplies of towels, pillows and blankets. Owners were so helpful. No extra charges to do a load of laundry. Thanks most of all for directions to fishing spots and the loan of a casting rod. We will come again!

It was very cozy and just right for a family of four and the dog.

Clean, the hosts were friendly & accomodating, it was pet friendly motel.

Location was great. Walking distance to shops. Each room is a cottage and has a feel of a full home. Even though the place is facing the State Highway 1, we were not disturbed by the sounds of vehicles on the road. I loved the wooden interiors. Room was spacious and beds spread to enable space. Had all the amenities needed for a dew days. Gave towels on asking. Wouldn't use their soaps etc. as they didn't look clean enough. Kitchen had everything you need to cook. Enough storage space, plug points etc. Ground floor, so very easy to get out for walks. Car porch which was so handy in the rainy days. Lovely staff. Comfortable beds, plenty of pillows and sheets.

Taps. They are way too old and there wasn't any mixer in the kitchen or toilet. It was very hard to adjust as I am never used to the separate hot and cold taps. I think the kitchen, bathroom and toilet could do with some renovation. Also, only two chairs for the small dining table even though the room was meant for three people. Same with the sofa. Outdoor furniture also could have been for three people. No modern plug points, so for charging USB cables, you need to bring your own charger.

Great service as soon as we arrived, easy conversation and seamless check in. Great room size with everything we needed for our overnight stay. Parking right outside your room, lots of information about the town and what to do nearby. Also a book about the owners which was a great addition

Nice Location near River with many pleasant walking options. Pet friendly. Fully equipped, and full kitchen. Very friendly owner.

A little bit noisy if you are in a cabin near the highway, but not hugely bothered by it,as I'm a heavy sleeper. No air con, just fans. Would probably be cold in winter as they're old school, retro buildings.

Lovely place to stay, more in tune with fishing then anything else but I guess that is the nature of the area. Lovely couple who own the place and whilst it may seem old fashioned, love to have a chat and meet the people who stay in their units. It may seem outdated and not to everyone's taste the decor, but the beds are comfortable and the shower is hot, you can cook or go out for a meal, and you have your own covered carspot. Close to the state highway, alpine crossing nearby, fishing down the road, mountains at your doorstep.

That the stay was only 1 night.

The property was a little bit older and needed some work done. The location was good.
