The Quarters

A lot of thought has gone into establishing this place for a very pleasant and memorable stay. Love the coordinated colours and generous supply of breakfast condiments and the added extras , chocs! Despite our initial hiccup with the door, Jo's support was superb. Have already shared our story of our stay ;) and recommended to our family and friends:) Keep doing what you are doing. Also love that the riverwalk is just behind the property. M&M

Clean tidy comfortable

The accommodation truly exceeded our expectations. The pictures accurately reflect what you get. It's so incredibly cozy and modernly furnished that you almost feel at home. We would have loved to stay longer. We especially want to highlight the incredibly warm and friendly contact with Jo and the host! We were absolutely delighted with her on a personal level. It was also great that, in addition to the accommodation, there was a shared kitchen and a laundry room with a dryer. We lacked nothing and would love to come back. It's about 35 minutes to the Tangariro Crossing. Thank you for everything, Jo! ❤️

Amazing location to the snow mountain and great stay - loved the walk down the tongoriro river.

Absolutely nothing .

Well appointed, tastefully decorated, well designed, comfortable and easily accessed. Delightful extra touches such as good coffee , jam and honey sachets and small chocolate bars to greet us. Excellent heating, super comfortable bed with good quality linens.

This is not a motel so don’t expect milk in the refrigerator.

The Quarters was just beautiful, exceeded our expectations!! Beautifully appointed, quality furnishings, linen and well equipped kitchen! The bed was super comfy and warm! Having a laundry on site with everything you need was an added bonus!! There is a lovely walk along the river from behind the property which was just so nice and peaceful! Our host Jo could not have been more helpful! Love this place!!!🙏🏻😍

The sensor light outside our window kept turning on late at night and was quite bright inside our room. Apart from that everything was perfect.

Ii loved the quietness, the deco and the landscape gardens. It was a lovely surprise which the few chocolates. Everything exceeded my expectations.

Beds were really comfortable. Living space was excellent.

Some areas weren’t as clean as they could have been. Window sills all needed a good clean. While there was plenty of crockery and cutlery some more pots and baking dishes and a vegetable peeler would have been useful.

It was absolutely spotless and beautifully maintained. Excellent communication. Great location. It had everything we needed for our stay. The small touches were lovely such as milk and breakfast spreads in the fridge. My husband and I were so impressed. We would love to come back and stay with our children.

Completamente nuevo y muy bien cuidado. Me alojé en un estudio del primer piso, muy amplio y confortable. Dispone de una zona de cocina. En la zona posterior del recinto hay una zona común con barbacoas y una zona de lavandería. Me encantó.

What an amazing space! We stayed in studio 1 which had ample space, a separate cooking area and social area outside and covered from The elements with bbq, fire and games. Plus laundry. It backed onto the river for a lovely river walk. The staff were so helpful, would definitely recommend

Great location and the cleanliness, comfort, preparedness (light and heater on for me / clear instructions) Quality bed & bedding, kitchenware. Very modern and spacious room/studio. Hugh kowhai tree outside which attracted a dozen tui I would stay here again and highly recommend anyone that needs a moment of comfort.

Really great studio, comfy, clean with everything you need. Really close to the Tongariro National Park, Tongariro River Trail just outside the door.

Beautiful home with heaps of space for a family to stay. Off street parking was a plus. Location is great. Easy to get to the Whakapapa for skiing and Taupo for restaurants and activities. Local supermarket and gas station are great.

Could have been an electric frypan in the unit for cooking in case it was raining and you didn't want to use the BBQ.

This property is new construction with specific detail to meet the needs of travelers. The room was well-appointed and very nicely decorated. The kitchen is well-equipped and the bed very comfortable. Lots of storage and hooks to hang things - often overlooked at other rentals. Parking was located directly outside of the room and the complimentary laundry facilities were very much appreciated. There is a communal kitchen (in addition to the facilities right inside the room) and an outdoor entertaining area with lights, seating and a fireplace. There are excellent walking trails immediately behind the property, which was perfect for our stay. You will want to stay here!

Charming cottage, beautifully decorated. The garden and patio areas were delightful and we enjoyed the walking path. Jo was tremendously friendly and helpful and so accommodating. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Modern finishings and well equipped. Had a kitchen, washer and dryer to share. Water pressure in the shower was great. Studio was spacious. Prompt replies from staff.

Bathroom sink was tiny, mirror was on another wall of the bathroom, not that functional. Would be good if the TV was on a swivel.

Charming, comfy and well-sited by the Tongariro river on a fairly quiet residential street. Easy drive to Waimarino-National Park village for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and the Whakapapa ski area.

Stayed in the fisherman’s cabin which was just soooo nice and cozy. Modern and clean. All the amenities you need. I can’t speak for what the other attached units are like but the detached cabin, which is the only one of a kind at the property is located at the back close to a stream. Super cool. It’s small but honestly it’s perfect for a winter stay.

Only one tiny thing, the flood light from the adjacent unit points directly at the windows of the cabin. The flood light is motion sensitive so anything, including the resident cat, can trigger the light to come on in the middle of the night. This ends up lighting up the cabin even with the blinds closed. I recommend they repoint the light directly down to the area needing lighting to avoid disturbing guests.

Beautifully styled, very clean and everything we needed

The instructions ambiguous i.e. numbering was repeated - Dulux No. 2 and also another unit No. 2. Was another man having difficulty there as well working out his. No mention that the accommodation was on the 2nd floor. Having to carry up a bike so that it would not be stolen was rather difficult. No electric blanket . Heater not put on prior to arriving. Obviously stringy on heating!!!

I travel a lot for work and The Quarters is up there with the best. The studio was immaculate, modern and really comfortable and the host Jo was very friendly and responsive. Highly recommend and will stay again.

We stayed in the apartment as we have two young kids. The apartment was beautifully presented and modern, enough space for a family of four. The kitchenette was well-equipped with everything we needed — even some thoughtful touches like coffee and butter provided for guests. The apartment was very clean and comfortable overall, and our kids especially loved playing with the Legos!

The only small downside for us was the mattress topper, which was very soft and made the bed feel a bit too sink-in for our preference. But otherwise, it was a wonderful stay.

Location worked for us, it was off the main highway and surprisingly quiet The room was very clean, uncluttered and warmly decorated and presented

The panel heater was insufficient to heat the room on a freezing night, we arrived at 6pm, and had a frosty morning. We didn't find the mystery heater hiding in a kitchen draw until the next morning, that was poor communication and very annoying. There was ample hooks for coats and towels but no coat hangers, perhaps three could be added to each room. We were expecting milk, butter and spreads in our room as promised. when I enquired Jo was very apologetic saying the staff were unwell and the property is unmanned at night, we were sent outside, down the poorly lit stairs to a public kitchenette which was only accessible with another code and insufficient lighting to find a bottle of milk, no spreads or butter, to take back upto our room, hey, at least it was only dark and freezing but not raining, haha!
