Breakfast was hot and plentyful
The hotel was cold, just a small electric radiator in the room which took some to warm it up. No heating in the bathroom.it was -1 the night we stayed The restaurant was also cold, ate with my jacket on. No food available later in the evening as the kitchen was closed due to lack of staff. Only one pillow each in the rooms. ..The cheapest option for going to free radio live, however a taxi is needed to get there and back as the walk to NEC takes you through an industrial park, not good in the dark for females.
We’ll kept, polite staff
Really noisy all through the night
Location, bar area, food was nice
My room didn’t have a table in, so nowhere to put anything
Everything was great. apart from our evening meal which was on the specials board. Gammon and chips
The only reason not for a 10 was our meal we had was not the best.A very fatty gammon steak which was not edible. We are not the type to complain so eat what we could and left remainder. This resulted in us not considering staying for a breakfast and eat elsewhere.
Clean and great location
We waited at the bar for around 10 mins, asked at reception and yet no one came to serve us. We left and went somewhere else for drinks
Friendly staff clean and bright
Nothing
Very comfortable room, great location close enough to the airport.
location and staff excellent
had 3 beds in my room meaning little access to the desk
Proximité aeroport et disponibilité dernière minute suite vol annulé Restaurant généreux et bon
Prix exagéré pour ce type d'hôtel sans services supp
Very clean modern look to it. Staff very helpful and food was beautiful and presented to a high standard
Really friendly staff and a great 10 minute walk to the train station and Rail to airport link.
The location the onsite parking the staff were incredibly helpful friendly and welcoming

How close to NEC
All good

New and clean and lovely staff
Breakfast was not that good. I had to ask for milk as they run out, knives and forks, mugs and they couldn’t find out booking at breakfast either. A bit manic but could be good.
Clean and fresh, lovely room
The pizza , come on hilton, that pizza is a joke . Straight out of a box. Awful. Shame because the breakfast in the morning was great, do yourself a favour and change the pizza, its not worth the bad reviews.
Easy access to NEC. Parking
Nothing
The location was perfect for us as we had booked her for a car show in the NEC and so the walk was less than 5 minutes each morning. The staff were great and the food was excellent too. Our room was brilliant and very comfortable , we have stayed at this location 3 years in a row on august bank holiday and never been disappointed
Its described as having a “power shower” however this was not the case, our shower worked but was very weak. I mentioned this to reception and they gave us a free breakfast voucher and said maintenance would be in to sort it. The next day the shower was still the same and no improvement had been made but we made do. Overall this is a minor issue as the staff were apologetic and compensated us as they saw fit. The breakfast overall on the second day i think was very expensive, its all you can eat buffet with continental and cooked, coffee and tea and juice. But at the high price of £18 per person i didnt feel like this was justified , the food was good and it definately helped us throughout the day but it was expensive.
I loved the reverb that’s it’s had looks incredible.
Good location for the NEC and parking available.
Staff were lovely and helpful, parking isn’t a bad price so close to the NEC and the room had good Air conditioning. Would recommend if your going for an event at the NEC as it’s around a 10-15 min walk to it and 20 min walk to the resort world.

Braakfast was good we have more choices lay out was good it was easy to to see where every think was displayed
no comment
Brilliant breakfast.
The pizza base.
Parking on site which made it very convenient. We were going to an event at the NEC so it meant we could leave the car at the hotel and just walk - receptionist was very helpful when I asked how to get there. Rooms were very clean and great blackout curtains - not a single bit of light let in the morning! Air conditioning was also great as I had my daughter with me that's always very hot at night so this was very much needed for her to have a peaceful night's sleep. We had our evening meal in the onsite restaurant which was very good. We also had breakfast as well - a great range of options.
As I was travelling with my child, it would have been nice for there to be a sachet of hot chocolate in the room as an additional option to the coffee and tea. Also maybe a decaf tea as an option too as there was only decaf coffee. Other than that, all excellent.
Easy 5 min walk to the mono rail for the airport, easy access to NEC and train station. It is through an industrial estate but it’s well sign posted and well lit, good toiletries in the room. Decent menu limited but decent food. Bar staff were very helpful with an odd request that saved me trying to find a 24hr shop.
A bit stingey with the tea and coffee supplies. Limited bar snacks and bits to buy for the room.
Clean up to date room and bar/restaurant facilities.
Some staff very helpful, this needed more consistency.
Very modern & spacious
Clean and tidy newly refurbished hotel.
Inexperienced staff who were unaware of the hotels procedures and rules.
Excellent
Location was good for us, parking on site was a massive plus, the whole hotel smelt clean and trash.
Staff very helpful and friendly
All good
Staff were very helpful
all good
Helen, I think that was her name, on reception was super helpful
Perfect location for the BDC
Nothing to dislike. Just considerable staffing problems that let them down. Helen? On reception was outstanding though.
Easy to find easy to get to NEC walking Cool air conditioned Comfortable rooms Good restaurant bar area
Maybe slightly more parking as there weren’t a lot of available space when we arrived
Staff excellent for helpfulness - shout out for Megan on reception.Hotel is so closer to the NEC.
Nothing to complain about.
Staff Location
N/A
The staff was very friendly and welcoming It was a short walk to the NEC , a perfect location
The location meant I could access the NEC, which is what I needed, even if it's a little treacherous with a wheelchair. The staff were very apologetic when we brought issues to them.
The rooms were extremely tiny, could barely fit a wheelchair in there and it's already a very small wheelchair as my fiancé is a small person, anyone larger in a wheelchair could not get inside the room. The front desk are aware of this issue but there isn't anything they can do about it. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable to the point of painful, if you sat still too long the AC would go off, the carpet is very hard to pull suitcases and wheelchairs along, the floor in the room was sticky in parts and the floor in the bathroom felt dirty. The toilet's flush was extremely weak, you had to hold the flush mechanism for ages to get it to actually flush. This was a significant downgrade from the ibis styles, which is what it still was when I booked the room a year ago. The double bed is in fact two singles on what looks like a queen or king frame, so there's a big line down the middle you fall into when you're sleeping which isn't comfortable and seems only to serve to make it so they have to wash and apply less of the larger sheets. The designer that changed everything seems to have not thought of any sort of access needs or even basic comfort, just trying to fit as many beds into rooms half the size they used to be. Very disappointing and I will only return if no other hotels in the area are available for me to choose from.
Staff were extremely helpful and lovely people
Nothing
every single member of staff all three days was nothing but polite, kind, lovely people. It was during a busy weekend and everytime I saw everyone they were just smiles and kindness
talking online could be difficult but definitely not a problem
Recently refurbished & changed from an Ibis to part of the AC Marriot group so everything was very new & shiney
Nothing obvious - the only criticism is they had run out of non-dairy milk alternatives, but staff did their best to try and resolve this, but as we were only there one night it was not really an issue!
Close to Airport and rail station. Lovely clean room. Bathroom was exceptional. Good breakfast with excellent choices.
Couldn't find breakfast times anywhere.
Excellent hotel in a great location.
Air Conditioning was fantastic
Being the room next to the corridor hallway door, from early in the morning it was constantly in use by other guests and the banging when it closed woke me Up every morning and kept me awake! Room 218!
We where surprised how good this was considering the price we paid and location. We were flying from Birmingham airport at 6 am so booked this hotel with a weeks car parking included . Our room was clean spacious and modern, beds really comfortable, the shower was massive. The bar area and restaurant is nice with a good selection of drinks and food at decent prices for a hotel . The only thing not so good was a lack of staff, i only saw 2 people working there and its a big hotel, the barman kept leaving the bar to serve the food. We have rebooked here for our next flight from Birmingham.
Recently refurbished creating a nice and new feel to what was a tired decor.
Lack of staff in the restaurant behind the bar. Clearly a kitchen problem too. Unable to fulfil kitchen orders quickly and on time, when the restaurant filled up. Numerous guests were complaining
Staff, cleanliness, food all good ... but spoilt, disappointingly, by the obvious indifference this company has to providing good customer service to it's patrons. There was insufficient staff available on the Friday eve, which meant a long wait at the bar on the Friday evening where both food AND drinks had to be ordered from one poor, beleaguered staff member! This long weekend was 'The Festival of Quilts' weekend and the bar at one time was 20 deep with people waiting to order drinks and/or food. If it hadn't been for another patron who was waiting to order, very kindly allowing me go before her to order our drinks, my dinner, which had already arrived on the table would have been cold before I managed to get served. Extremely poor! This obvious indifference to customer service by AC Marriot Hotel NEC and Airport very nearly spoilt the weekend for us - a special treat for a friend who is going through a difficult time. Unfortunately, I suspect that as far as the hotel owners are concerned, ensuring there had been sufficient staff on duty for this weekend would have eaten too much into their profit (and Staff going sick at last minute is a contingency they should be prepared for and not a reasonable excuse BTW). AC Marriot Hotel NEC & Airport had a 'captive' audience, so why should they care - greed wins every time sadly. We previously stayed at this hotel when it had been called 'Ibis' and had a much better experience.
That there was not enough staff on duty for an anticipated busy weekend.
Recently refurbished so the rooms and public areas were very good. Comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom.
The service in the bar and restaurant were really bad. Staff were clearly struggling as not enough plates, bowls, glasses or cutlery were available. There was a very strange reservation system for food so lots of complaints from guests having to wait over an hour for food and despite reserving a table no space being available. It felt as though the kitchen could not cope at all with the volume of guests. At breakfast, again constantly running out of crockery and the food quickly ran out even though they must know how may people are staying. It spoilt what was otherwise at comfortable stay.
The staff were all very friendly (special shout out to Helen at the front desk). The rooms weren't the largest but had everything I needed and were spotless. I particularly liked that you could really adjust the thermostat in the room. The food in the restaurant was good.
I thought it was good.
The bedrooms were clean, had good tea/coffee facilities, plenty of soaps shampoos etc and provided bath robes
The service in the restaurant was poor. Staff friendly but not enough of them. Queued at the bar for 20 mins to order food at 6pm. Ordered a cold sharing platter starter and it took 1 hour 20 mins to arrive. Many other people on our table who ordered 20 mins after us received their hot meal before us. A member of staff came to apologise and said could she get us something as we still had to wait a while after 1 hour waiting so we ordered 2 non alcoholic drinks which she brought to us and proceeded to charge us £10 for them. We had thought this gesture was complimentary for the terrible inconvenience.
Clean, cool, comfortable
A bit hard to access, especially on foot.
Brilliant
People very nice
Clean
3rd floor
AC Hotels is clearly the poor relation of the Marriott brand. Staff training is poor too as those responsible for prepping the rooms left a lot to be desired. Hotel paper invoice states AC Hotel, yet credit card entry says IBIS Hotels. Queuing to register took a total of twenty minutes as only one receptionist was on duty, yet plenty of other staff were walking by. The room was small, just big enough for the MASSIVE wall mounted flat screen TV. Bed was comfy and aircon good. No tissues in the container in the bathroom and needed to ask for more sugar, tea and some spoons!!! Breakfast was ok but why an additional £2.00 for eggs other than fried?? Sorry, won’t be staying again as we don’t want to risk a similar experience.
Location from train station and event I was attending was excellent
location and price
nothing really not to like
Fresh and clean
staff were so friendly, shoutout to adrian on the bar
Great location to the NEC. Comfortable bed and clean room. Friendly and helpful staff.
There was a tv, however some of the channels like ITV did not work despite there were basic offer. Its quite expensive, additional charge for the breakfast.
The renovations look good and the staff are very helpful
My stay was too short
Very close to everywhere I needed to go , staff where really nice and kind , if you needed anything they where there . Rooms are spotless and the bed is so comfortable. Breakfast amazing , would definitely stay here again .
Nothing at all ,, it was perfect !
Location, close to NEC BP Pulse arena ,airport, station , rooms clean and recently refurbished, staff friendly and helpful, especially the team on at breakfast time
Bar service very slow when we returned to the hotel after attending a gig at the BP Pulse, there was an influx of people but initially only 1 member of staff serving. It took a while before any additional staff arrived . This would be our only complaint during our stay
Staff were very helpful.
Aircon was not effective.
That it was close to BP Plus arena
Room was really comfortable . Clean bathroom . Very quiet .
The fact that we were not informed of a refit going on. Reception staff were not as helpful as we would off expected. But the worst thing was we were unable to find the hotel due to the name being something totally different which didn't help at 2am in the morning . Would not stop here again
Clean & friendly, perfect location for NEC
Charge to park £16 for 24 hours Name change so went to the wrong hotel initially (IBIS airport charged £13 to get out the airport carpark) not impressed
The staff were amazing. The room was clean and everything worked perfectly.
Not enough seating for breakfast on Sunday morning. That was due to a gig the night before though and there were some reservations happening.
Perfect walking-distance location for an overnight at the NEC (my visit) and easy access to Birmingham International airport and train station. Clean and comfortable room in a well-appointed, just-refurbished establishment, with friendly and helpful staff.
I thought the room was a little small and would be a bit cramped for two people staying any length of time. The cooked breakfast buffet was poor quality, more akin to a cheap greasy spoon than a Marriott-branded hotel, and definitely not worth the £17.50 you'd pay if it's not included in your booking.
Great stay but I’m surprised you have to pay for parking 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Paying for parking
Perfect location for NEC.
Some refurb work meant that breakfast layout was a bit odd. Needs more coffee machines, mugs, and faster replenishing of the buffet at breakfast.
Just a lovely hotel
The rooms
Room was very fresh looking Lobby was immaculate Dining area and bar were very pleasant indeed Staff were all friendly and welcoming
Nothing to dislike
Clean, air conditioning, comfortable beds
Paying £16 for parking this wasnt clear on booking
Great location. Very NEC
N/a
Staff were so friendly compared to moxy we stayed last year
More coffee and tea facilities would be good
Great AC, friendly and accommodating staff
Perfect location , quick walk to Birmingham International and also to the NEC
Breakfast wasnt great, the sausages were extremely bland and barely edible the fried eggs were swimming in a weird tasting oil. Wouldn't eat there again.
The aesthetic
During a heatwave it felt an eternity away from the station Gutted it didn’t do room service
Good size room
The ac brok but nothing you can do about that
Clean, modern, spacious and a comfortable room.
Nothing.
Big spacious room. Very clean. Staff superb. Very pleasant, helpful and friendly.
Amazing
Nothing
Comfortable room with large bed. Only overnighted and left for airport before breakfasr service started. Very convenient for airport.
Well thought out room
Poor breakfast
Location of hotel is close to the NEC which was perfect for our need, noticed the airport was nearby, rock was tidy and clean, toiletries were provided for the shower but bring your own other personal care items you need also, didn’t have to pay the £15 parking charge due to a family member being a blue badge holder, staff were friendly, hotel doesn’t mind if you want a just eat delivered to the premises, but you have to eat it in your room.
Pillows for the bed are too soft, mattress was too hard, reception didn’t pick up the phone when called as they were too busy when I went down to the desk, one staff member on check in desk upon arrival when they could have had two staff members to make check in quicker.
Clean hotel, friendly staff and excellent location
How close to airport it was
Cleanliness Bed not being made despite booking for a family with a child Name change but wasn't informed Complaint made but not heard from anykne
Everything
Rooms Rooms were nice & clean. A few issues with the TV with lack of channels (only 12 or so available), couldn't connect personal devices to the TV as the wifi wasn't ready after hotel changed chains. Nearby activities Birmingham NEC and airport short walk away, pretty much everything else is a drive or train journey away. Walkability Limited grocery shops in the area. Short walk from Birmingham International Airport train station. Food and drinks Breakfast was okay, bacon left in lidded serving tray often swimming in oil making it unappealing. Dinner menu looked good, didn't try any as I was travelling with a fussy eater. Drinks from the bar were nice and decently priced. Noteworthy details Some teething problems which can be attributed to chain change caused some issues with our stay. Atmosphere Calm, quiet and laid back atmosphere, nice styling throughout the hotel Service Staff friendly and welcoming throughout the stay, despite aforementioned problems with their systems. All issues were handled politely and professionally.
Close to the terminal
Being renovated at the moment
The staff when we arrived was very helpful. The hotel was clean and very nice
I understand we were only staying for 1 night but we had booked a "family room" and we had booked for 3 adults and a child (7) We expected a double bed and a double sofa bed for all of us to sleep comfortably. Unfortunately we had a small double bed and a single sofa bed. This meant my mum had the sofa bed and myself, my husband and our son were squashed into the bed. I ended up moving and sleeping on the floor as there was no room. I do feel like if you ask how many adults and children will be staying with you that the booking should be suitable for that amount of people.
Proximity to NEC, staff and room was great
At the time it was being renovated so all the construction workers were being given breakfast and cleaned it out before many of the paying guests got a chance!
Had to wait 3 hours to check in,no soap or shower gel in the room,no tea, coffee etc in the room and two pots of out of date uht milk.Receptionist was crying at reception and was saying she couldn’t cope and there was no manager on site.Total shambles.Breakfast cold and nothing restocked and no coffee or milk.
Location and rooms were great
Breakfast was not well maintained
Smart and clean and the family room was spacious.
The tele signal kept playing up and switching off
They cancelled my reservation and moved me to an inferior hotel, without offer me a partial refund. Booking.com was not helpful or tried to solve the issue. The hotel they put me was lower quality and cheaper.
