Spent a week in this charming hotel and enjoyed every minute. Extremely well situated in the “old town”, among narrow, cobbled alleys and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Bedroom with balcony had everything you’d need, perhaps a little small. We had problems with a bathroom door lock and a faulty hair dryer, reported both issues to reception but sadly neither issue was looked at. Exquisite garden restaurant, plunge pool and sun bathing area were great. Pricing seemed like good value and the staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfasts were a little plain, repetitive and hot food was not hot enough. Overall, very much a four star hotel

We had a perfect 5 night stay at Hotel Astoria. The room was an ideal size for us with plenty of storage. We loved the tiles and space on the balcony to dry clothes. The garden bar was great for early or late evening drinks and we loved the pool and terrace for cooling off in the afternoons. All staff were polite and helpful. The location was ideal - very central - we could walk everywhere. The breakfast was the same every day but was all fresh and tasty. Would highly recommend the hotel and we hope to visit again one day. Thank you!

We stayed at Hotel Astoria for two weeks, the staff, location and everything about it was exceptional! As we were staying for two weeks, Alessio on reception was fantastic and moved us into a room with a balcony, without any request or fuss! The room was extremely clean and well maintained. A massive shoutout to Alessio, Valentina, Rachele, Salvatore & Carmine for their help in making such a wonderful stay. They went above and beyond to making our holiday fun and stress free! If you’re after a true authentic Italian oasis this is the one!

Location!! The doorway gives the choice of three directions - the coastal area, the main square and the heart of the shopping alleyways - all just minutes away. We also liked our balcony, which overlooked the alleyways, and the garden area.

The only thing that spoilt our stay was the inability to control the air conditioning in our room at a time when the weather was really hot. We had to ask Reception to turn the aircon on every time. We have never encountered this at an hotel before.

Just spent a very enjoyable week in the Astoria. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the old town and a 2 minute walk to Corsa Italia. Hotel is in a flat part of town unlike many others which are in hilly parts of Sorrento. As others have said the bedrooms are small and the walls are paper thin. That said, the rooms have everything you need, are comfortable with aircon and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was wrll appointed and the shower was good. Breakfast was a typical Italian range of fruits, ham, cheese, breads and bacon/egg. The hotel garden bar area is ideal for a quiet lunch or drink. There is a small sun lounging and plunge pool area also. The staff are all super friendly and a special thanks to Antonia who kept our room spotlessly clean. Grazie mille! We will definitely return to Sorrento and will be happy to stay at the Astoria again.

La ubicación es perfecta, en pleno centro para moverse muy cómodo. El hotel es muy bonito, tiene un jardín con árboles cítricos muy ameno, con un bar para tomar bebidas. Las habitaciones son amplias con lugar de guardado, camas cómodas, cuenta con calentador de agua, y dejan café o té para uso diario. Tiene frigobar. Tuve un problema con el aire acondicionado y rápidamente nos cambiaron de habitación Tiene una piscina pequeña con hidromasaje, bien para relajarse Las habitaciones cuentan con un balcón con una mesa y sillas

Tal vez hay pocos enchufes en la habitación El horario de cierre de piscina es a las 19hrs( para ser francos , casi todos los lugares tienen este horario) pero se podría extender

It was disjointed as we had to go up several stairs etc to our room but did prefer the modern room . Didn’t enjoy the Buffett breakfast . Found pastries and cakes slightly stale . Coffee machine never worked properly maybe just a blip .

My husband and I loved our stay in this hotel and would highly recommend if you like to be in the centre of everything, the staff were all extremely friendly especially francesco who made the best cocktails and was super friendly. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice we also liked the sun terrace with plunge pool it was ideal after a day exploring. We would definitely return to this hotel 😃

We stayed at the new area of the hotel, which was great, clean, comfortable. But the walls are paper thin. We could hear all from the room next door, even their breathing.

Spent four nights here for my Son's wedding. This hotel was fantastic ! Location is superb, right at the centre of everything, but hidden away enough to be peaceful. The hotel itself is beautiful, a lovely little garden bar filled with lemon and orange trees, beautiful murals on the walls and shaded tables. The restaurant is classy and the food is good. Breakfast is buffet style with a LOT of choices. There is a sun terrace and a plunge pool both of which were being well used by guests. The rooms are comfortable with lots of storage and great A/C. All rooms have a balcony (or terrace on the lower floor).Staff were excellent, polite and attentive without being overbearing and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Loved my stay, and hope to come back some day

We loved this hotel. It was right in the middle of things and the staff were so friendly and welcoming with a special mention to Francesco who made the best cocktails. Our room was spotless and overlooked the garden terrace. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We liked it so much we are returning in September!

Pero el tema del parqueo del coche fue un poco complicado. El personal no hablaba bien inglés ni español y nosotros no hablábamos italiano así que nos costó bastante comunicarnos

The owners have not reinvested in the building, this much is clear. The curtains in the room were hanging off the rails. Breakfast was very poor - the acid test is the Orange Juice (terrible). Final minor point, the TV configuration in the room proved impossible to access (the advertised) English language channels.

Spent one week at this well kept hotel right in the heart of Sorrento. Room was reasonable for a city centre hotel and had a view over the small square and restaurant. Breakfast choice was adequate for us. Staff all very friendly. Quirky layout means those with disabilities need to ensure they ask for a suitable room.

⸻ English: We had a great stay at Astoria Sorrento. The staff was amazing — a special thanks to Raquele, who welcomed us warmly and kindly allowed us to check in earlier, which we really appreciated. The location is perfect, very close to the bus stop, making it super easy to go down to the marina and come back up. It’s also a great base to explore the region — we visited Naples, Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi, and Positano. Although we also stayed in Naples, for someone visiting for the first time, I would definitely recommend staying in Sorrento as a base. It offers by far the best balance between price, location, and overall experience. Breakfast was great, and having eggs included was definitely a plus for us. The terrace is fantastic — a really nice space to relax. Overall, a very good stay and highly recommended! ⸻ Español: Tuvimos una muy buena estadía en Astoria Sorrento. El staff fue increíble — en especial Raquele, quien nos recibió muy amablemente y tuvo el detalle de darnos la habitación antes de la hora de check-in, lo cual agradecimos mucho. The only downside was some noise at night from garbage collection, and the bed was okay — not as soft as in some other hotels. That said, we still slept well. Español Lo único a mencionar es que hubo algo de ruido en la noche por la recolección de basura, y la cama está bien, aunque no tan suave como en otros hoteles. Aun así, dormimos bien.

Excellent location for everything in the town. The hotel is clean and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel is far bigger than it looks and the garden bar area is lovely.

We didn’t realise there was a surcharge on ordering drinks at the garden bar - it is worth asking about this.

A fabulous hotel on a tiny alleyway, but don’t let that fool you, the hotel has many rooms which offer many different views of the town. Our room was overlooking the square with a balcony and seats. The room was clean, the facilities were as expected - tea, coffee, toiletries, a hairdryer and TV. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. The hotel staff cater to your every day need and couldn’t be more helpful with suggestions of places to go, offering help with bags, printing at the the reception and showing us the garden terrace with the biggest lemons growing we’ve ever seen. The garden terrace is a lovely spot for an early evening drink after exploring. Thank you for making our visit so easy.

Excellent customer service, great cocktails and delicious breakfast. We had several special requests over our stay, such as early morning valet service for our car, late night cocktails and extra amenities such as pillows. All requests were fulfilled quickly and to the highest standard.

As it was out of season the pool and outdoor areas were not open. However, this was made clear to us before we purchased our stay.

We stayed at hotel Astoria starting on March 25 leaving today March 28. This was an amazing experience. Absolutely beautiful hotel with a perfect location for exploring and walking around Sorrento. Rachele and the entire staff were welcoming, accommodating, and kind. Breakfast is included in your stay and there are plenty of options for everyone! There is an acquaint bar in the lobby, offering Limoncello and Aperol Spritz. Francesco made us his signature drink-the basil lemon kiss martini, which was so delicious! We were thoroughly impressed with our time here. Our room was beautiful and very clean. We had two balconies, one with the street side view and the other of the garden area. We look forward to a future stay here.

Absolutely great. We stayed here for 5 days. This family run hotel is centrally located all the staff are truly awesome every one of them were polite courteous and could not do enough to help. Reception and the bar staff were always smiling not like others places we have stayed at. The rooms are typically Italian compact but the difference was ours was spotlessly clean. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with a marvellous selection of food. Have I mentioned the staff, they were so nice and helpful. If you are going to sorrento I would suggest that you try the Astoria. All I can is thankyou for making our stay with you so unforgettable. Ps did I mention how great the staff were every single one of them.

I would recommend this small and friendly hotel every day. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had a problem with the key on our first day, and they couldn't do enough to help us and even gave us a different room, which was stunning to say the least. Rooms and hotel itself was clean and smelt wonderful! New tiles on floors and rooms were decorated in a lovely modern way with a traditional Italian feel to them. Breakfast was good - a typical buffet breakfast in a European hotel. Again, the staff in the morning were good fun and helpful. And the hot croissants were delicious!! The location is amazing - right in the centre up a small street. The bustling noise from the street from the room and balcony was lovely. I know some people would like it a bit quieter, but we loved it. The port/harbour was close by and we would down every evening to the front to watch the most amazing sunset that never failed to look stunning. We booked our own trips out, just went to the port and booked ferry to both Capri and Positano and jumped on train to Pompeii. These were very accessible from the hotel and the staff will always advise you where to go. All in all, we would definitely return if (and when) we return to Sorrento, it truly was magical with the BEST lemoncello you will try.

Although the location can’t be faulted, I felt undervalued as a guest here. Our room was too hot( around 25.5 degrees) every day. I was told it was winter and that the facility to cool my room had been turned off. It was suggested I open the windows which I did. It made no difference to the temperature but did mean the nearby noise was even louder. Two of women on reception couldn’t have cared less that it was uncomfortable. Half way through the week I spoke to a young man with a beard on the front desk. He seemed more interested in helping and called the maintenance guy who was also very empathetic and managed to find me a fan. Still too hot however. Also at breakfast time we found we were banished to the far sides and corners of the dining room. A tour company were using the hotel for the whole week we were there and the central part of the room was reserved for them. Breakfast was ok but nothing more than that.

Lovely location and authentic Italian style furnishungs

Great room - smallish but perfectly planned, including a lovely balcony; welcoming, friendly and efficient staff who couldn’t do enough to help. Sorrento is an excellent bustling, cultural location. The Hotel Astoria is ideally located in the centre but with a quiet, calm ambience.

4 girlfriends spent 5 nights at this hotel, and we had a fantastic stay. The staff are brilliant and very helpful. The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect right in the centre of the town with bars and restaurants on the doorstep. It's a few minutes' walk to the square and the Marina where you get the boats to various destinations. It's about a 10 minute walk to the railway station for Pompeii Pompeii. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable and the rain shower is lovely. The rooms are so clean the cleaners are in daily with fresh towels. The breakfast has plenty of choices and a massive shout out to Rafael, who is an absolute joy. He made our breakfast experience so much fun. The reception staff are fantastic. I left my purse and didn't realise that until I got to the airport, they kindly transferred the money to my bank account. The cleaners are always cleaning, and nothing is too much trouble. There's Happy Hour all day, and we were glad of the pool area where we had a relaxing day after a strenuous day in Pompeii and Herculaneum. We went to Capri, which was awesome, and another day visited Positano and Amalfi. I definitely recommend this hotel. You won't regret booking here.

Location to port and old town

We stayed in room 608 and it was the cutest. As soon as you walk in you feel like you’re in the dreamy part of Italy - colorful tile floor in the room and on the walls in the bathroom. I wish they offered slippers since the tile is a little chilly on bare feet. Overall very quiet unless you have a neighbor who doesn’t know how to close the door lol. Central location - we walked everywhere. About 5 min walk to the lift to take you down to beaches and Marina Piccola. Breakfast so-so, depending what you’re used to. We only eat there once and found other places for breakfast.

The room was nice, clean. The outdoor noise wasn’t bad. But you could hear everything in your neighbors room. Bathroom, conversation. And upon our arrival after a long day, we were getting settled and ready to shower and a staff member knocked. Before we could answer the door (about 3 seconds), they walked in. I had to run to the bathroom spilling my coffee everywhere as I was preparing to shower. It was locked but not “double locked”, which we were not instructed on. We thought being in our locked room was sufficient. Otherwise, our room was clean. I wish they had a coffee maker-they had a kettle with instant coffee packets. And you’ll need to request an iron and board, they are not in the rooms. It steps out into the heart of everything which was nice.

Perfect location right In the heart of Sorrento.We requested In advance room 502 [as advised by a previous holiday maker.]and we were'nt dissapointed. The staff were all wonderfull and the cleaners were In Every day so It was clean and comfortable.We had a balcony,perfect for people watching and listening to live music and buskers and you get the sun from about 1pm onwards. At first it was a bit of a maze with 2 lifts and stairs but we worked It out eventually.Breakfast was usual continental,but ok.

I only had a night here, I booked online, the staff are so accommodating and helpful, lovely gardens, our room had everything we needed and a view of the garden, there is a pool but unfortunately the weather changed so I did not get a chance to use it not good for two days but the days following it’s sunny again. Hotel is in such a good area amongst everything without needing transport, it was a very good stay albeit short.

Beautiful hotel with the perfect central location, minutes away from the station and the port by walk, has a cute restaurant, daily cleaning, and the style of the whole hotel is so much prettier then what I expected. It looks so much better then on the pictures. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend!

If you went a relaxing stay please don’t come here, the room walls are basically paper you can hear everything. All night people banging doors, talking until all hours in the night a phone which seems to be in the corridor ringing all the time, the cleaner comes up at 8am banging round so if you want a lie in you won’t get one! I went to speak to reception and the lady basically looked at me like what do you want me to do. No care. Twice I had to complain about noise. Perfect location that’s all good I can say.

It was safe, clean, comfortable for my family and me. You’ll be right in the center of mostly everything. Only thing that might bother some people is that you may hear people outside in your room if you're an early sleeper, but it wasn't an issue for us.

Ugly hotel, ugly room, bad food. I asked for shampoo and very rudely I was told to use the shower gel. I said how is it possible that a supposedly 4 star hotel offers just shower gel and soap. They said that they’re 4 star for their location. The room was a corridor with a small bed and the furniture all scratched. The shower was so small that I had to keep the door open to shower properly. The room was not cleaned properly. They just changed towels and made the bed. The food was so bad that we were shocked to find this low level in a 4 star hotel in Italy.

We stayed 6 nights for my daughter’s graduation trip and would 100% stay again. It is the perfect location to be used as a base for day trips to Amalfi coast, capri, and Ischia. The staff was simply phenomenal from the front desk staff to the breakfast crew. Raffaele and Alessandro made our mornings , both so nice and extremely helpful. We can’t thank them enough. The breakfast choices were plentiful but had a lot of pastries which that is not exactly what we were used to . There was fruit and some bacon and eggs and other items we did enjoy but my favorite was a cappuccino machine . I was able to get my coffee fix .

Room a bit small but location is very good

This hotel is has a fantastic location it is easy to visit the main tourist spots such as Pompei, Amalfi coast, Positano and Capri Island. The port is a short walk away use the lift and you are in the heart of Sorrento for lots of restaurants and historical sites. The hotel staff are friendly and the hotel is very clean and cosy. The garden is beautiful and a nice quiet place to get a drink and relax after a busy day of sight seeing. I highly recommend this hotel
