Reviewed Jul 2, 2019It's a legacy hotel on the MG Road in Kochi. Rooms are comfortable and you have a choice of classic and modem interiors. The restaurant serves an excellent choice of Kerala cuisine and multi cuisine. I am a regular there for all the above reasons as well as the hotel's proximity to some good shopping outlets.

Reviewed Feb 28, 2018The Grand Hotel is close to Ernakulam Junction train station and around a 30 minute drive to the Fort Kochi area. It has old world charm but still has modern comforts and is a comfortable stay. The front desk and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. There was a lot of construction going on in front of the hotel in February 2018 but it was not too much of a disturbance from our room which faced the main road. However if you are in Kochi to visit Fort Kochi it might be worthwhile looking for accommodation there rather than in the main city area.

However, if you are looking for comfort and other prompt service, then it is not the right place.

Reviewed Jan 22, 2014This is a very good hotel located right in the heart of the city (Ernakulam), within short distance of tourist spots like Fort Cochin, Marine Drive, etc. and commercial spots like markets, malls, etc. The rooms are spacious and clean though the building itself seems to have seen quite a bit of wear and tear! The staff are friendly and helpful. However, the major USP of this hotel is its restaurant - the food (especially sea food) is just awesome. Don't miss it!!

I stayed at the Abad Plaza a couple of days before my stay at the Grand and i felt the Abad Plaza offers more value for money. The rooms at the Grand are good no doubt . But all modern facilites which the present generation hotels offer are not available. The Grand charges for usage of internet which is quite abnormal. The complimentary breakfast is pretty ordinary. The spread is basic I also feel the staff are not courteous. Will definitely opt for Abad Plaza next time i visit.

Ordered the seafood platter and they didn't have tiger prawns. The king prawns were about the size of little shrimps!

Reviewed Sep 7, 2013The Grand is a good hotel..scoring high on location and service. The overall feel of the property is average. Facilities at the hotel is average at best. To me it is trying like a few hotels in cochin..a deliberate attempt to sell the old world charm..although not very successful in presenting the same. Having said that, value for money, service from staff and its location being right in the centre of the city is where this hotel scored high as far as I was concerned.
