Glenfern Villas

Villa was clean and well presented. Well set out and kitchen with facilities to cook if wanting too. Kids loved feeding the sheep. on the property. Only a short drive from town. Beautiful views from the accommodation.

Location and the host

Power was out when we came. But this was not the venue issue. Entire valley electricity went off due to a tree that had fallen over power line. Luckily it was came back quickly after we arrived. Otherwise it would have been a horrible experience.

Great views from the family rooms. Great spot - feels like you’re well connected with the environment.

The design and layout of the property is nice and perfect to fit four young adults. It was so nice to have the villas heated before we arrived. Love the high ceiling and the bathroom is spacious.

Thought the charges to use the only 1 washing machine was high.

The location was great & the size of the villa was perfect for our teenagers to have their own space. Feeding the sheep was a bonus

Great villa, loft bedroom with great mountain views, we also had a carport which was fantastic as it rained a lot.

Great place to stay! Unfortunately, it rained during our visit, but the accommodation made up for it with DVDs and board games available at reception, which kept everyone entertained. The villa was cozy and a good size for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, allowing us all to have our own space comfortably. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable stay—would definitely recommend.

Very clean and comfortable. Wi fi was shared with all guests so signal was average. TV has no internet only free to view.

Location was a bit far away from the main centre and needed taxi for movement.

Very spacious. Well furnished with everything you need for a short stay. Well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable bed and good shower.

Villa 16 is close to the road, as are 2 other villas. Try and get one further away to avoid traffic noise. The TV has the capability to play Netflix, etc but is not set up. Disappointing:

Stayed in chalet No16 unfortunately it backed onto the main highway 6 , there was some noise from the passing vehicles, unlucky allocation I guess !!

It was very comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. Room was spacious and well-appointed. Staff was very helpful about areas to see in our time frame.

10 min drive out of town. Good overall with basics utensils and crockery. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Alles war gut hier, außer die Sandfliegen. Es war eine tolle Lage etwas außerhalb des eigentlichen Ortes und angenehm ruhig. Immer wieder gern.

Wunderbar ausgestattetes Ferienhaus. Es war auch alles absolut sauber. Wenn es mal nicht geregnet hat, konnte man auch schön auf der Terrasse sitzen und die Tui-Honigfresser wundervoll beobachten. Auch, wenn die Anlage sehr dicht am Highway liegt, kann man ungestört schlafen, denn einerseits befindet sich das Schlafzimmer nicht in Richtung Highway und andererseits ist der Highway nachts so gut wie gar nicht frequentiert.

Die Anlage liegt ca. einen Kilometer außerhalb von Fox Glacier.

Staff were really helpful. We asked them to arrange a BBQ for us to use at short notice and they arranged it quickly.

The owners were lovely and very helpful sharing local knowledge. The size of the villa was great, nice to have room to spread out if only even for one night.

I didn't realize it's location is out of town a wee bit, although it was lovely and quiet it would have been nice to be able to walk to dinner

Bed was a little hard and uncomfortable but cannot fault the bedding as this was clean and well presented Room had a smell to it, old cupboard smell - BUT- it was certainly clean so we were able to move past the smell and enjoy our stay and were grateful for all the other efforts provided with making it a nice place to stay

Lovely, spacious two bedroom apartment with amazing views of the mountains. Easy drive into Franz Josef and children enjoyed the onsite trampoline!

Great hotel just outside Franz Josef and a perfect place to explore the area. Spacious, clean and great amenities. DVDs and BBQ available on request.

Fans in both rooms would be good. Shade on the patio would have been great as it was too hot / exposed to use during the day (good for drying washing though!)

עלות הכביסה יקרה יחסית לאתרי לינה אחרים: 6 דולר למכונת כביסה ו-2-4 דולר למייבש. אך עדיין טוב שיש כאלה. כדאי להוסיף בארון הצר בחדר השינה עוד קולבים ואולי לפנות בו מקום לשימוש אורחים. כדאי להוסיף הוראות להפעלת הטלוויזיה, שלנו לא עבדה. לא היה קריטי עבורנו. מעל המיטה בחדר השינה מומלץ לשים וילון אטום יותר למניעת כניסת קרני השמש בבוקר (יש תריסול )

I think the room need a renovation, and to many spiders in the room - needs a better cleaning also in the upper part of the villa.

The villa has the required cooking utensils, has a great view from my garden. It has a big collection of DVD's for free, fresh herbs for cooking and they also provide milk and olive oil for cooking. It has a good heating AC and electric blankets.

The villa is outdated, the bathroom looks quite old and the couches. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Also TV with no netflix.

Outdoor furniture was filthy, unusable. Felt like I was nickle and dimed especially for the cost. Skimpy toiletries Some road noise if you are in a villa close to the road.

Very comfortable, beautiful outlook, fun for the kids to feed the sheep, easy to get to the village centre by car but walkable too.

The perfect place to view the mountains! Quiet, spacious, clean and close to the trailhead. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook in. Loved waking to the view of the glacier.

The chalet was very comfortable and cozy and clean and felt like a great rest up. Facilities were good and homely and up-to-date. Staff were helpful and friendly and great views.

Only a minor thing the location was a little bit out of town. I would’ve preferred to have stayed in town to be able to walk to restaurants but then would have to give up the nice rural location and views only a minor thing.
