Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Le petit déjeuner, la literie qui est fabuleuse et l'emplacement. le jeune homme à l'accueil de l'hôtel nous a gentiment prêté son adaptateur car nous avions oublié le notre.
Le fait que notre réservation pour le diner n'ait pas été prise en compte alors que nous avions téléphoné et avions demandé à l'accueil lors de notre arrivée. Petit manque de communication avec le restaurant

There was only 1 table in the bar for drinking. All other tables were reserved for food even though the restaurant was empty. The hotel should offer the same menu in the restaurant and bar, that way the bar could be just for drinks. But it isn’t. So we had to get drinks from the bar and take them downstairs ourselves to the library

There was no hot water at all on shower, staff were unhelpful for example I went bar to get food. It was empty yet I had to argue with them to get a table cos I had no booking yet when I left it was still empty. Parking really bad as well

Reviewed Sep 12, 2026Plenty of parking. Room was a good size. Good choice of food for breakfast. Location was good for Kylemore Abbey and Connemara.
We needed privacy curtains as our room was visible from the EV charging points and walkers on the trail. Nowhere to have a drink when the bar seating is being used for dining. Very little room downstairs to sit with a drink in the evening when the hotel is busy.

Reviewed Sep 12, 2026The ambiance. The drive over is beautiful. Staff are nothing but helpful and kind. The spa is a MUST for anyone going for a getaway. I asked for a room with a good view and my goodness did they deliver. There was even a nicely priced high quality jewellry sold beside the reception (Swarovski cystals). Thw drive up is love but I'd highly reccommend driving to Cliften and doing the 12 bends drive.
The only reason why i have ticked this as 9/10 is for the price and advertising. It feels more like a retreat into nature rather than a luxury spa visit. Room was clean and homely but as youre in countryaide you see a few bugs around and everything made of good refurbished wood. Its a great spa but it is a bit steep price wise considering what you're getting.

Hôtel vieillissant avec des chambres très mal insonorisées. Si vous recherchez du calme, passez votre chemin. Vous entendez tout mais vraiment tout de la chambre attenante à la vôtre. Très moyen pour un 4 étoiles

Der Spa war nicht im Preis inbegriffen, wenn man überhaupt in dem Bereich möchte zahlt man pro Person 20 Euro je Stunde! Dann hat man nur einen Whirlpool und paar Ruhebereiche. Das finde ich sehr schade und negativ. Zumindest eine Stunde pro Tag hätte mit drin sein können bei dem Preis vom Zimmer! Im Zimmer durfte man sich nicht in sein Netflix einloggen am Fernseher, das war gesperrt.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026Un lieu magique pour profiter du Connemara. Les vues des environs immédiats de l'hôtel sont à couper le souffle et d'une paix absolument merveilleuse. Nombreuses promenades possibles et un espace spa de charme... Le petit déjeuner est brillant et le personnel gentil et souriant... Plusieurs salles communes de l'hôtel sont dotées d'une vue magnifique ainsi que la terrasse...
Pour le principe : - un poil mesquin de faire payer le spa à l'heure (20€ pp) ... Il est vrai que le temps n'était pas vérifié de très près mais quand même - la chambre était plutôt confortable (la literie peut être un peu améliorée) mais avec une vue bouchée au rez de chaussée... Certaines chambres sont sans doute mieux exposées...

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026L'emplacement de l'hotel est remarquable au coeur des montagnes et des lacs du Connemara, entouré par de la campagne, des rivières, des forêts...et des moutons.. Le personnel au restaurant était sympathique et attentionné et les petits déjeuners irlandais très bons.
Arrivant à Leenaun , le village le plus proche (16 km) , de Clifden par un bus local, nous avons eu la désagréable surprise de découvrir qu'il n'y a avait pas de taxi à Leenaun et lorsque nous avons contacté la réception de l'hotel, , on nous arépondu qu'il n'y avait aucun véhicule ou navette pour venir nous chercher, même en payant. Vu le niveau de prix de l'hotel, c'est inadmissible. Je tiens à remercier la sympathique habitante de Leenaun, écoeurée par cette situation qui nous a gentiment conduits à l'hotel. Autre souci dont personne ne vous prévient, : la forêt a côté de l'hotel , où se trouvent de jolis chemins de randonnée, est infestée de taons...qui ne font pas de quartier.

The sheep are wonderful to look at and photograph, but I don't like stepping in their droppings.

More or less quite old style and used rooms. No gym. Service was ok but not as excellent as we have experienced in other hotels in Ireland. DIfficult to get seating in restaurant without prior booking - what you cannot know if you arrive late.
