Le Méridien Qingdao

I have been traveling to China for a long time since 2012 and have visited a lot of different hotels of this brand and others. Every time I try to leave reviews to share my experience with fellow self-travelers. This time is not an exception. Long story short, this hotel has such bad management and is absolutely not worth the money. I will provide some examples of this hotel's service: 1. When I arrived, the room was horrible (photo attached, and take a look at this BEAUTIFUL view outside) and I asked to change it, but they said "we don't have available rooms to change!" But it has about 30 floors and dozens of rooms on each one. So they never changed my room. 2. I tried to change USD to RMB for about 3 days and 5 times. This is normal for each hotel in which I stayed, but here it is NOT. Every time they said "come later and we will do it." But every time they found new reasons why they could not. 3. I asked to call a taxi. They said "you should do it yourself." These are just some examples of my stay in this hotel. That's why I definitely do not recommend staying here. The rating on Booking.com and the 5* rating are not suited for this hotel. This is truly a 3* hotel and should be a maximum 7 rating. This hotel is absolutely not worth the money. I starred it 3* only for a good breakfast.

В санузле протекала вода, еда очень скучная и не разнообразная, маленький выбор еды, отсутствие чайных ложек и соли

믹스몰과는 거리가 있지만 그렇게 멀지않고 오히려 믹스몰보단 사람이 덜 붐벼서 좋았어요. 바로 옆에는 CBD(완다프라자) 있어서 그 안에 판다헤어스파, 차지, 루이싱커피 등등 있을 거 다 있어서 좋았답니다! 다안... 와우뷰티,팝마트는 없지만 비슷한 편집샵들도 꽤 있어 처음보는? 중국 현지 의류브랜드들이 많아서 더 구경하기 좋았어요! 공항과 48분 택시거리 믹스몰과도 택시로8분? 거리라서 돌아다니기 좋아요!! 덜 붐비는 곳을 찾으신다면 적극 추천이요!! 직원분들 전부 다 친절하시고 호텔에 수영장,피트니스,룸에 욕조, 넓은 1층로비, 짐보관(짐 지키는 직원), 보면 다들 인사해주시고 웃어주심, 체크인시 짐 같이 옮겨주는 서비스까지 나름 5성급의 서비스가 있었어요.

청소가..쪼금 전체적으로 아쉬웠어요. 그리고 호텔이 전체적으로 노후화되어서 조금 낡은..? 그리고 욕실에 불이 안들어오고 녹이 어디서 계속 나왔지만 나름 잘 피해서 썼어욤. 그리고 수영장 시설은 좋았는데.... 그 온천은.. 뭔가 벽지껍질? 같은게 떠다녀서 앉아있다가 근방 일어났구 락커실에 어디서 물이 터졌는지 물바다였고.. 사우나는 안켜져있더라구요. 7시부터 운영이고 한..7시20분? 그때갔는데 좀 아쉬웠습니다. 룸도 구석구석보면.. 커텐엔 모기 잡은 흔적도있고 그렇더라구욯ㅎㅎㅎ 그래도 온도조절이 뭔가 딱 맞게 잘 되는? 느낌이라 건조하거나 춥거나 있지않게 잘 있다 갔어요~~ 욕조가 최고..

It was clean.

Indians shouldn't go to this hotel. They are fraud. 1. They didn't provide dinner while I booked Half Board. Reception and Manager don't understand meaning of Half Board. I had to go out to have dinner and paid for taxi, costly dinner and that too in minus one degree temperature outside. 2. They charged more than initial booked amount in Chinese currency. Amount in Chinese currency including taxes and fees should be constant. They didn't honor the amount shown on my account on booking.com. 3. They took 50% extra towards deposit and promised that the balance amount will be credited to my card on check out. I am still waiting for same after 2 days of checking out. I have already returned to India and now on checking they are saying it will take 15 days!!!! 4. No one in Hotel staff understands English and we had to take help of Google Translate or local Chinese English speaking friends. Overall - Indians shouldn't visit this fraud Hotel.

Good upkeep and ambience

We had booked two meals plan but they did not acknowledge it during our stay.

Понравился комфорт. Большой номер, душ, ванна, халат, удобные кровати. Все просто шикарно. Из окна красивый вид. Вкусный и разнообразный завтрак. И все это по очень привлекательной цене. К сожалению мы не смогли снизить температуру в номере с помощью кондиционера. Такое впечатление, что он работал только на нагрев. 26 градусов это через чур, а окно открывается немного, так как высокий этаж и ветер был не в окна. Нам дали другой номер, там та же ситуация, но нам удалось создать сквозняк приоткрыв входную дверь и мы прекрасно выспались. Благодарю отель за наш короткий отдых!

Very good Hotel, near the Northern Railway Station. The breakfast buffet is overwhelming and the view is breathtaking. Staff is friendly and gives you a little gift when checking out.

The room itself was not bad but the view was awful, just out of my window there was a terrace used as deposit of material. The restaurant is excellent

The service was not existing, there is a nice bar but without personnel, to get a beer they had to call the restaurant... English language is practically unknown... The main square of Qingdao May Fourth Square, is 5 km from the hotel... quite far

都很好哈，员工都很有善，住的也舒服，离市中心近，交通便利，特别是那个靓仔Kyrie，帮我叫的士去机场，还帮我搬搬抬抬，我东西太多，很好，下次还来

这次是来出差的，选的这家地理位置很好，还近图书馆，买东西方便，酒店人员热情服务，特别是Leo崔效禛，帮我拿东西，还帮我叫的士，每次麻烦他都回应及时，相当好，下次还来这家住，我在这里这次住了8天，天天都很舒服

再接再厉，早餐再多点粤菜就好了

I recently stayed at Le Méridien Qingdao, expecting the refined experience showcased on Hotels.com and associated with the Marriott brand. Unfortunately, the reality fell short in several areas. Firstly, communication was unexpectedly difficult — none of the front desk staff spoke English, and all interactions had to be conducted via translation apps. This made even basic requests time-consuming and frustrating, especially at a supposedly international hotel. Secondly, I had specifically booked a smoking room, only to be told on arrival that the hotel is entirely non-smoking. I was informed that the website is outdated — but surely this is something that should be addressed by now, especially on major booking platforms. The bathroom area, particularly the wooden features and floor tiles, felt worn and in need of renovation. It detracted from what was otherwise a well-appointed, spacious room with a lovely view from a high floor. I appreciated the generous amenities and thoughtful touches throughout the room. One final inconvenience: the glass-topped desk rendered my mouse unusable, which made working from the room uncomfortable — a surprising oversight in a business hotel. In short, while the room had its positives, the lack of English-speaking staff, misleading booking information, and some maintenance issues made this stay less than satisfying. With a few improvements, this property could live up to the Le Méridien name.

Old rundown hotel with nad service i arrived after midnight tired and exhausted then is when Ella at check it decided to give me a hard time the room was small and smelled from cigarettes smoke all the furniture and equipment are old and tired i do not recommend to stay at this hotel

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights from 27th May to 31st May 2025 in the room number 2209. I had requested a few things in advance thru the MB app and they confirmed all the requests. I did this advance request because I checked in around mid night and had an early morning meeting. To my surprise, nothing was placed and had to request them again over the phone. But they do not understand English. So, I did request them again by the MB app. I got the things delivered after half an hour. Just a pillow took half hour. In the morning, I found out that the toilet was choked. It would not flush. I faced this toilet issue for all 4 days. Everytime, I make a complaint, they always said that they will send "ENGINEER" to fix them. To compensate these issues, they offered me 1 day extra HOUSEKEEPING. I mean.... EXTRA HOUSEKEEPING. Guys, I can request that on my own. I told them that I leave early in the morning and come back late in the evening... so why would I need EXTRA HOUSEKEEPING. I have stayed at Marriott properties for last 8-10 years, but never faced this issue. I spoke to their Duty manager many times. Lastly, i ran out of Chinese RMB and I went to their front desk and requested them to change USD 100 only for me to RMB and that I would accept any exchange rate. Because I was left with 0 RMB. They refused it out right. They say that they can only change it from 10 am - 5 PM. I explained them my situation many times, but NO. They did not budge. This was the MOST MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I ever had at Marriott hotel. Just before reaching Qindgao, I was in Hangzhou and stayed there at HANGZHOU MARRIOTT HOTEL QINGJIANG. There I wanted to change USD 1000 to RMB at mid-night and the front office assistant (Ms. Nora) did it willingly for us. I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST THIS LE-MERIDIEN TO ANYBODY. Its HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I think that any 3 star Hotel in Qingdao would have provided better and comfortable stay.

He guide us on the correct address for places of interest each time we call for DiDi..no regrets in picking this hotel

직원들이 매우 친절하였습니다. 호텔은 깨끗하고, 시설을 이용하기 매우 편리하였습니다. 클럽룸 이용 시 목마를 때나 간단한 요기가 필요할 때 이용하기 좋았고, 로비에 에스프레소 머신이 있어서 택시 기다릴 때 한잔씩 하기 좋았습니다. 고객 편의성이 매우 좋습니다.

A good five star hotel

Old and tired hotel. The food selection at breakfast and happy hour has gone down extremely maybe they got a new food manager. Service is good check in and check out was quick and efficient the shower is ok the bed is comfortable the furniture and equipment is old tired and outdated

Lovely hotel, next to Wanda Plaza. Luxurious lobby, rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very quiet, we had good undisturbed sleeps. Delicious breakfast with a good variety of western and local food. There is a small play area in the hotel, where my granddaughter had much fun. Also, a well equipped gym.

Rooms are slightly worn out, especially the bathrooms.

Nice and valued hotel

Overall, I like this hotel. This is the second time I've stayed here. But the only problem is their heating system. It's always on. It was hot in my room. You can't turn it down or turn the AC on.

Nothing all good except room service for indoor dining , not enough items to book . No 24th kitchen it seems , not sure when we asked food at 3.40 pm very limited items they said . So we just went out and took food , otherwise all good

Breakfast spread is good. Its very hesrtening that the resturant can arrange a take away breakfast due to my early (6am) check out for my morning flight.

I couldn't clock point to my Marriott Bonvoy membership due to booking being made through Booking.com. I think you should consider allowing customer to clock points for their stay even booking is thru third party web site

The staff was highly rude and non co opearative , had to call the reception for continously one hour but no response.

Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. Close to metro station (5-8min walk) to get to for example Hongdao Exhibition center.

A hotel of this stature should have had a bar open till later in the evening.

I had to take a taxi for the airport at 3,30pm and they let me use the room until that time. very good restaurant intramuro.

卫生间好几个灯都不亮，浴室里灯不亮，洗澡的时候感觉像在洞穴中一样。房间的落地装饰画框破损的非常严重，不敢碰的样子。

I booked a room with city view but was given a room with a roof view. The paint on the side wall was scratched, which was giving a bad look to the room overall. Rooms should be maintained at a high standard as expected at a 5-star property. TV remote was not working properly. it seems like they are still using outdated TV models, and certainly the volume on the TV wasn't good enough for the room although the volume in the bathroom for the TV was high enough that I had to use it to listen it into the room.

Et flott hotell. Bærer noe preg av å være eldre noen plasser. God frokost buffe. Hadde bestilt vanlig rom, som ble oppgradert av betjeningen. Fikk først et rom som luktet røyk, men de var snare med å gi et nytt rom når vi varslet.

An amazing hotel next to a shopping mall where you find everything, the downside is the construction which creates chaotic traffic at the entrance. Other than that, it was a great stay for me.

Kind personal, room clining, food excellent

Very friendly and accomodating staff. The facilities were top-notch. They felt brand new and of good quality. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and very clean. This is perhaps the best hotel of its calibre that I've stayed in in China.

Club level room had a broken pendant light. No room service menu (or QR code) in the room although my associate told me that the room service menu had NO western food options (not even the classic club sandwich or burger). Restaurant had only buffet for dinner with very limited western food options. Fitness center/gym had 24-hour access for guests (good), but at 6 am no towels and no cups for water.
