It can be rather noisy at night from People sitting at the tables outside restaurants nearby but they thoughtfully provide ear plugs and the noise was not particularly late. Staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2026Liebes Hotel Hackteufelteam! Vielen Dank für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt in eurem Hotel mit ganz viel Seele und mitten in der Altstadt gelegen. Schon beim Reservieren war uns klar, dass dies ein besonderes Hotel ist. Auf meine Nachfrage nach einem Eiweißbrot/ darf leider keinen Zucker und nur wenige Kohlehydrate essen, wurde mir versichert, dass sie schon irgendwie mein Brot besorgen....und so wars auch! Vielen lieben Dank dafür. Wir waren in diesem Urlaub in 6 Hotels insgesamt, aber in keinem haben wir eines bekommen! Dafür gibt es schon 10 Sterne von uns. 😀! Der einzige kleine Nachteil für uns war, dass die vom Hotel nahe gelegene und vergünstigte Parkgarage für unser Auto leider mit 1,80 m viel zu niedrig war und wir in P10 parken mussten, das ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß gelegen war....aber der Weg führte durch die wunderschöne Altstadt zum Hotel . Natürlich kann man auch die Koffer kurz beim Hotel ausladen, was aber in der Fußgängerzone liegt und somit alles sehr eng und mit vielen Menschen gefüllt ist.....aber alles machbar. 😀 Die Einrichtung ist alt, aber passt einfach in dieses romantische Hotel und ist somit wunderschön. Es gibt einen Aufzug und Klimaanlage, also wieder 10 Sterne. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut und alles da was man sich wünscht. Man konnte sogar wählen zwischen Kaffee aus der Kanne und von der Maschine, was auch wieder wunderbar zu diesem Hotel passt! Wir haben am Abend auch im Hotel Restaurant gegessen und es hat uns köstlich geschmeckt. Das Restaurant war schon zu Mittag sehr gut besucht und auch am Abend, das spricht für die Qualität des Essens. Fazit.....bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Heidelberg übernachten wir hier sicher wieder. Reviewed Aug 10, 2026Gemütliche Atmosphäre eines verwinkelten historischen Wirtshaus. An meinem Tisch, war wohl in den 70er Jahren ein Stammtisch weltberühmter Philosophen gewesen. Das Portrait von Hans-Georg Gadamer erinnerte an diesen 'Stammtisch des lebendigen Geistes'. ... Und lecker Helles aus der Gegend.

The air conditioning was so handy with the high temperatures. It’s in a great location handy to the river and main shopping street.

Reviewed May 4, 2026This is an amazing hotel in the heart of historic Heidelberg. The owner and staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Everything is within walking distance, and I mean everything. The original entry columns to the city stand just a few steps away, We had views of the castle from our suite. The owner told us about the “philosophers walk” just over the bridge for amazing views of Heidelberg from across the river. Our bed was incredibly comfortable & breakfast was plentiful and tasty. There is a lift, so you don’t have to haul your suitcases upstairs. The food in the restaurant was really, really good. We came in tired from a day of exploring and asked if they could send up a plate of food for us, as there was no room in the restaurant. It was delicious. If it is available, book Room 8, the suite. Besides a living area, you also have a deck with chairs and a chaise lounge to relax and look at the castle or just enjoy the peace and quiet. It was the only room left and we felt lucky.

Reviewed Apr 27, 2026Die Kommunikation vor der Anreise war schon sehr zuvorkommend. Unsere Wünsche, kurzfristig besprochen, wurden uns erfüllt. Wir sind mit acht Personen Vormittags angereist und sehr herzlich empfangen worden. Unser Gepäck konnten wir schon abgeben und später in die Zimmer einchecken. Jedes Zimmer war individuell eingerichtet, großzügig, mit viel Charme, die Betten sehr bequem. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Alle Mitarbeiter waren unglaublich freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, mit viel Auswahl, besonders mit frischen Brot und Brötchen.

Kısa konakladığımızdan kendi restoranını deneme şansımız olmadı bulunduğu sokakta çok güzel restorantlar ve kahveciler vardı. Heidelberg merkez istastasyondan 35 numaralı otobüsle çok yakına kadar ulaşım sağlayabiliyorsunuz.

In unserem Zimmer war ein winziges Badezimmer - hat für uns gepasst, für größere Menschen wäre es vermutlich schwierig. War aber sehr sauber und alles gut in Schuss.

Het interieur is wat gedateerd, maar dat geeft het ook een zekere charme.

Reviewed Feb 8, 2026The staff first and foremost made me want to plan come back here again soon. They were so helpful and kind. My daughter and I struggled to make it down in time for breakfast, in fact showing up with only 3 minutes left. They didn’t rush us and allowed us time to eat. The location right by the Old Bridge was perfect. It was very easy to find our way back to the hotel each time we ventured out. It was really nice having a restaurant right downstairs as well.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Das Frühstück war gut, nicht so übertrieben, aber alles da, was gebraucht wird. Sämtliches Personal war super freundlich. Unser Zimmer lag nach hinten und war angenehm leise. Schön war, dass es einen kleinen Kühlschrank gab, wo man Getränke kühlen konnte, hatten wir im letzten Hotel nicht, was sehr schade war. Vor allem gab es am Abend eine weibliche Bedienung, die super super nett war, freundlich, charmant, tolle Wahl getroffen.
Das Bad hätte etwas größer sein können, aber es funktionierte alles und das ist die Hauptsache. Ansonsten haben wir nichts zu beklagen.

Reviewed Dec 29, 2025Can’t get more perfect location, right in the heart of the historic district, close to all, restaurant one of the finest in town, staff (shout out to Dennis, awesome dude!) was the best, only minor complaint would be the tiny bathroom and foul odor whenever flushing the toilet, but everything else was outstanding. Very traditional German style hotel and restaurant.
