The location was great, staff were friendly and professional. Room was clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast had a great selection and also an option to order from the menu, I ordered the eggs Benedict and was delicious

Hard to say. Location itself only. This is not the hotel we used to know and go there wigj a pleasure.

This hotel used to “breathe” with perfection. Now is a just gray and poor image of it. The faucet in the bathroom has hot water only, our room 49 was turned to the backyard including 10ish huuuge A/C outside unite. Bad to sleep. The breakfast was poor, especially the water melon and ananas…they have been 3-4 days old sliced prieces. Low selection of food. I have asked 4 times about Plateia parking and everytime I got the “upgrade betting game.

Breakfast was lovely every morning! The breakfast items can be the same when staying for 5 days, so we suggest changing up the items a bit more

There is no kettle or tea and coffee making facilities in the room, which would have been very nice to have

On check-in I asked about gluten free options. There was bread only available. I have stayed in 3 star hotels and B&Bs where there was a wealth of choice.

The room was too small and had far too much furniture. The glass bathroom door is not appropriate.

The location was excellent and the staff were friendly.

There was a limited selection of prepared fruit at the breakfast buffet and some of the prepared to order items were disappointing. The room was too light in the morning as the bathroom door is frosted glass and the bathroom window doesn't have a blind.

The room was too small. The elevator was being cleaned we had to use the staff’s one at checkout.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einem schönen alten Gebäude in toller sehr zentraler Lage.

Aufgrund der sehr guten Bewertungen hatten wir uns mehr erwartet und waren ziemlich enttäuscht. Das Personal insbesondere am Empfang war völlig unmotiviert, um nicht zu sagen unfreundlich. Auch der Frühstücksservice hat nicht besonders gut funktioniert. Erst nachdem wir zwei Mal in der Küche nachgefragt haben, kam jemand an den Tisch und nahm die Bestellung auf. Auf den Kaffee mussten wir dann leider lange warten. Wir hatten 2 DZ gebucht, in denen es leider sehr muffig roch. Der Zimmerservice ließ zu wünschen übrig. Es gibt leider keine Teestation im Zimmer. Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer war sehr laut und der Aufzug funktionierte nicht.

Staying here again was even better than last time. The whole family really enjoyed it. Cosy, comfy, classy and perfect location.

It felt a little anonymous - all the staff were very pleasant, but a bit distant, and the decoration (mainly white) lacked a bit of character. For a relatively small hotel the atmosphere was more like a big high end hotel. It’s on quite a passing street so there was a bit of traffic noise but not excessive.

The room was very clean and the view was nice. The breakfast was pretty diverse and the food was good. The location is one of the greatest perks, because the hotel is located in the city center and right on one of the main streets (Mitropoleos Street). The main attractions can be reached by foot (aprox. 15-20 minutes to the White Tower, 3 minutes to the Aristotelous Square and 10-15 minutes to the Arch of Galerius and Rotonda).

The room is somewhat pretty small, but it is very clean and confortable.

We get upgraded with Suite for the price of the room. Staff was very helpful and extremely nice.

The included breakfast was excellent, we had an issue with our air conditioning the first night and the hotel upgraded us to a better room without any hassle. We were well treated and would stay here again.

Petit hôtel de charme très agréable très bien situé au cœur de la ville,!entre la mer et les marchés intérieurs. La décoration est soignée, les chambres sont confortables et la salle du petit déjeuner est très agréable. Très bon petit-déjeuner. Et surtout très bon accueil d’un personnel prêt à rendre service.

L'emplacement parfait, près de la place Aristotelous. Le personnel aimable et disponible. Le petit déjeuner.

L'ascenseur est petit mais il a du être installé en tenant compte des contraintes du bâtiment

The location and the cleanness.

I sent a message a day before our arrival and i didn’t get an answer. In one of the rooms there was a slight smell of mold. There is no parking within the hotel and we had to wait for a spot to be freed up in the neighboured parking lot.

Wonderful staff. Very helpful. Location was excellent. Breakfast buffet was top notch. We had to check out at 4am and they prepared a breakfast box for each of us. All in all very well run.

Our stay at the Grand Excelsior in Thessaloniki was simply outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with genuine warmth and exceptional hospitality. Every request we had was handled immediately, professionally, and always with a smile. The location was absolutely perfect, allowing easy access to everything the city has to offer, while the amenities were truly top of the line and exceeded our expectations. The room itself was superb, beautifully maintained, comfortable, elegant, and offering everything needed for a perfect stay. In short, this hotel delivers a premium experience in every aspect. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Thessaloniki and will definitely be returning.

Zimmer sogar nach gezahltem Upgrade klein und zum Hinterhof auf Höhe von Lüftung, Heizung war so heiß dass unser 1 1/2 jähriger Verbrennung erlitt am Arm, Personal teils sehr desinteressierte

We had a truly wonderful 3 night stay at The Excelsior with a friend. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the heart of the city, making it incredibly easy and enjoyable to explore Thessaloniki on foot.The atmosphere of the hotel felt warm, elegant, and very welcoming from the moment we arrived. What made our stay especially memorable was the kindness and friendliness of the staff. We would particularly like to thank Elizavet for her genuine warmth, attentive care, and the wonderful recommendations she gave us about the city. Her suggestions truly made our experience even more special and authentic.Thank you again for such a lovely stay we would be very happy to return in the future.

Good central location with most sights within walking distance, with the waterfront only a couple of minutes away. Room 21, junior suite, was very stylish, spacious and well appointed.A good breakfast was provided, as was a welcome bottle of wine and chocolates. Very welcoming and helpful staff.

Being fussy, I would have preferred a walk-in rather an above-bath shower. There was a locked connecting door to the adjacent room which wasn’t very soundproof. Fortunately the guests there weren’t noisy but I could hear phones ringing quite clearly.
