Lovely old property in a great location
The steep stairs to the rooms
Good situation
Le bâtiment historique et la chambre très confortable
Sa situation éloignée du centre
Great staff. Riverside location.
The bar area and the location.
Bedroom in need of some TLC.
Such a lovely old building, plenty of parking.
The cold water tap in the bathroom only trickled and there wasn't a mirror in the bedroom.
Fantastic location, great pub and restaurant.,friendly staff, great food. Would definitely return.
Was a but shabby and could hv been cleaner
Grubby staircase and spudets in bathrol.
We have been coming to the old ferry boat Twice a year for 6 years The current manager Jacqui Has made the best improvements by far
Just a lovely peaceful village
Location was perfect. Unfortunately fruit and pastries were in full sunlight. Our room was very basic and small ensuite.
Having to wait for 70 minutes for our food on our first night, despite booking a table. Then, on our anniversary having booked a table we had to wait for our meals for an hour and a half. There was a lack of communication towards customers. However, Marks the head barman was very good and apologetic.
The Booking.com and Old Ferry Boat Lodge staff were extremely understanding, helpful, friendly and polite during a cancellation issue.and in general!!
The ceiling had a leek in one room.
Location was fantastic, bed was very comfortable, good pillows and a powerful shower, very quiet.
Food service was pretty bad, lots of dinner menu was unavailable and we waited nearly an hour for some overcooked fish and chips
Una struttura favolosa in un luogo incantevole. Ottimo ristorante, è stato davvero bello mangiare in quel ambiente. Buone birre e buon cibo. Le camere pur essendo datate hanno tutto il necessario, un buon letto e un bagno pulito.
Manca un po' di manutenzione e una pulita ai vetri della sala colazione sarebbe indicata.
The setting next to the river was idyllic Authentic interior inside the pub
Service was awful, 3 staff were crumbling at the amount of orders. There was a private function that may have overlooked the rest of the bar/restaurant. We had to cancel our food order and the waitress agreed for us to get a takeaway to eat in the bar. The cooked breakfast was not very appealing. Muffin was stale and poached eggs poorly cooked There were cobwebs and flies all over the windows and curtains. Definitely needs a deep clean.
food and bar area were fine, as expected. Staff were friendly.
The room was small, very dated furnishings and in need of redecoration. It was poorly cleaned and here were insects including multiple spiders . The bathroom was tiny and very dated.
It was a lovely old pub, in a beautiful location.
Nothing
Interesting history and set in very quaint village near the river.
Room was clean and comfortable but en-suite a little cramped
breakfast was lovely and hot and plenty of choice it was a budget room but everything was there by the river on a lovely day cant get any better
nothing
Fab location. Staff all excellent. Great food. Fan in the bedroom
Bathroom really needs upgraded. Basic but functional
Quirky old inn type pub. Very friendly staff. The room was clean and tidy albeit the decor was a little tired. But while the bed looked a bit past it's best, it was actually very comfy and had a great night's sleep.
We had no hot water during our stay which was a bit of a disappointment as we could have welcomed a shower after a long day on the road. However the staff acknowledged the issue (think maybe the boiler had packed in) and we had breakfast for free as compensation which I am totally happy with. These things happen!
What a lovely old building, very quiet location. We stayed in the budget double which was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Wasn't dirty but there were several cobwebs. The two lads on the bar were amazing. They were rushed off their feet but still managed to stay calm and were very friendly, quite frankly they deserved medals.
Lovely Hotel Friendly Staff always on hand if I had any questions- Great Breakfast in the morning- Nice comfortable room
Only slight thing was there was no Hot water a couple of times when having a shower
We absolutely loved the position of the Inn, right next to the river. The staff were all very accommodating. The food we had there was all very good.
Quite a lot of cobwebs, the blinds in the bedroom need replacing, as they didn't work and the weather was stifling hot.
Good cooked breakfast and friendly staff. Nice location on the riverside. The fish and chips dinner was fine.
The steak pie at dinner wasn't very good- it looked very nice but had little meat in it and mostly gravy.
breakfast was nice ,food was good.
it was a very hot night, when getting up in the morning there was no hot water at all, my partner went down to reception, a young member of staff tried to help. On returning to our room it was still the same no hot water at all. So it was not possible to get a shower. Mentioned it to the manager on leaving and he just passed it of as an old property and didn't seem interested.
A charming place to stay. Quaint, classic, old English hotel, loved it. Great breakfast and staff.
Being a very old building, you have to expect that that things aren't going to be ultra modern, this is what makes it so special. It gives it character.
Location, food and staff excellent. Impressive old building
Accomodation. We were in room 5, which was a twin room. It was actually a single which had had another bed put in it. One of the beds had been put tight against the radiator and the television could only be seen from one of the beds. The en-suite was so small I have a cupboard bigger than it at home. This is the smallest room that we have ever stayed in.
beer was excellent.from Greene King Staff worked very hard. Excellent site and pub atmosphere
the tables and bar surfaces were rather sticky .Is this normal?
Perfect quiet location next to the river. Great atmosphere, staff were very friendly, abd the food was good.
Room was right above the kitchen fan, so room had smell of grease. Fan was very noisy, but did get turned off after food service. Room could have been cleaner. Spiders in bathroom, been there a long while by the looks of things.
Stunning location by the water and pub was full of old age charm
Nothing
Excellent location by the river Ouse & outside of building is really charming. Restaurant, food & staff were all good although we did have to wait almost an hour for our mains.
The room (no.4) was disgraceful. Paintwork & wall finishes looked about 20 years old. Floor squeaked in all directions. Standard double divan bed with broken drawers, although mattress was comfortable. Disgusting wooden blinds disguising dirty window frames & cobwebs. No mirror in bedroom. Bathroom blinds & windows in same dreadful condition. Dirty toilet pan & toilet seat had two supports missing as well as urine stains. The only redeeming features were a powerful shower & plenty of hot water.
The staff were great, room was comfortable. Food was lovely and presented wel.
The fact that booking a room for 2 people with breakfast then finding out that only one breakfast was on the order was more than disappointing. I rechecked booking.com and found the website more complicated than it needs to be. After chatting to staff I have been advised a way of booking rooms by passing a 3rd party.
Excellent staff and enjoyable reakfast
Food
My headlamp wasn't working.
Location and comfort of bed
Slow meal service, corporate quality meat definable by price not taste, bathroom tired and not particularly clean
Great location bye the river Sunday lunch ok breakfast ok staff friendly.
room was tired could do with re decorating windows need a good clean. room very noisy we were bye or above a fan possible an extractor fan, also a hot night but windows were fixed to open up only a couple of inches similar to a care home.
Location good for dogs
Food service for dinner slow but staff brilliant
Good location and a very nice pub
Rooms were not clean and in poor state, the rooms desperately need updating
The location had a beer garden, large car park & was next to the river. The building is very old with lower height doors - I managed to catch my head on one - the staff were very attentive but no lasting harm done. The food was very good - dinner & breakfast.
The en-suite in our room was very cosy ! But the room itself was OK for a one night stay.
It was extremely homely in a stunning little location on the river. The staff were incredibly friendly making it feel like you were at home as opposed to at a hotel/Inn.
The room was a shade dated and bathroom could do with updating but that is being ultra critical
Location was lovely, on the banks of the Great Ouse. Pub looked nice too
A wait of nearly one hour and a half for dinner after ordering. The loo seat in our room was fixed incorrectly
Excellent, clean room. Food excellent too.
Got too hot at night
Location, history, ambience
Rather cramped en suite. Defective light.
Location was pretty
The room was noise with a loud kitchen fan right outside the window. The blinds were broken and windows damp. Food was mediocre unfortunately as had read good reviews.
Location only
Rooms were very poor. Rotten filthy windows. Wallpaper and paint flaking Mould in bathroom and dark bathroom lighting. Some sort of outside extractor droning by our window. Finally went off about 12.30 back on early about 8pm. Only good thing was the linen was clean Breakfast Egg Benedict , husband couldn’t eat it. Not worth the money.
Relaxing Staff where the best i have ever met done you proud Mr Green and King.
Excellent for what we required. The room was fine. The rooms are a little tired, but we only slept there for one night, which was perfect for our needs. Staff were friendly.
We didn't use any of the facilities, so we can't comment on the restaurant.
room was fine
noisy fans outside the room
The hotel is in a lovely location by the river and in a picturesque area of thatched houses. The atmosphere and decor of the hotel was perfect. Our room although small was really good with its own ensuite including a bath. Everything was so clean to a very high standard indeed. Breakfast was lovely, so much to choose from and piping hot. Staff were super friendly, but Julia was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for her. The history of this pub is amazing. I absolutely can recommend this hotel. I would stay there again for sure.
Nothing, it was a great place to stay.
Picturesque pub in a great location by the river.
I like tge fact they did a take away breakfast box. The room was comfortable and warm and the location was set in beautiful place.
Happy with everything
Great location. Very peaceful and rural.
The rooms are dated, could do with a better clean between people staying. There was a lot of dust and the shower screen wasn’t cleaned. The kitchen fans run until 22:00 and are really quite noisy.
Staff lovely, food good and location beautiful.
The breakfast was disappointing, no continental breakfast on offer as to early!!!..no coffee machine and a little understaffed.
Staff very helpful and very pleasant
Door to entrance was damaged too In need of some TLC cobwebs in room on suite very small room very cold radiator made noise throughout the night
Beautiful pub and excellent value for money. Small room but for the price there is no complaints . Comfortable and clean. We hAve visited many times over the years and never disappointed
Fantastic staff and a great location, good food and value for money
Bathroom was quite small but I think we had the smallest room, but at £55 I really couldn’t complain and certainly manageable, only other criticism it could possibly do with a room update
It suited our purposes for a short stay, convenient for the event we attended. I liked the antiquity and history of the building. I am extremely grateful to whoever it was there who very kindly took the trouble to forward on to me through the post my personal diary which I had inadvertently left in the beside cabinet in our room. Many many thanks, you're a star! *
Our room though in a quiet part of the building was afflicted by noise from adjacent room or rooms from noise from water pipes or perhaps shower or toilet cistern during the night. It wasn't easy to contact the Inn when I had problem after we had left.
Ambience of the inn was very good
The duvet was thin. Better quality would make all the difference.
Staff and location excellent
Price of beer VERY high
The main bar areas were ok
The bedroom was the worst I’ve ever stayed in. The window and surrounding area was covered in dust, cobwebs with spiders. The windows were so dirty you couldn’t see out. There was an inch of dust on the headboard. The bathroom was just about adequate
Lovely pub. Food was really nice. Had a good night's sleep and the staff were friendly.
Great location , great pub , great food , plenty of parking
Need a make over but just about ok for the price
The Bar, Food and staff were excellent , Location was superb - very peaceful . the car park was large and ell kept .
The rooms and breakfast area need a make over . The door at the top of the stairs was noisy - needs WD40 to get rid of the noise .
Having a good evening meal
Other guests
Staff were amazing and very welcoming. Food was lovely, we will be back.
Nice place Nice people Clean and comfy. Well run bar. Chris and Marks were great
Zero
We liked the riverside location and cosy bar area.
The smell on the staircase up to the rooms. The loo seat that didn't stay upright unless held.
Do conforto do quarto, da simpatia do staff.
Da localização, fora de zona urbana
This was a perfect stay and was thoroughly enjoyable. All the staff made us feel very welcome and were very attentive. Our evening meal and breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend and will return again soon.
Everything was perfect.
Everything
Nothing
Beautiful old pub
Room to small! Would be better as a single. Bathroom tiny - my husband complained that if he stood to use the toilet his bum rested in the sink. The sink was dirty with a brown ring around the waste pipe. Got the impression that you tried to squeeze in more rooms than the building warrants. Cleanliness and presentation not brilliant - towel and bedding clean but towels appeared to have been thrown onto shelf and pillows looked as though someone had just been lying on them. The beds were comfortable. Area designated for kettle etc too small. Unable to reach sockets as behind bed - very small bedside table - unable to open window fully due to security lock. Windows covered in cobwebs.
Great location
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good and nice variety. Dinner good value for money. Pub decorated really prettily for Christmas, giving a nice atmosphere and an interesting history. Lovely little village location - enjoyed a walk up to the church on a lovely sunny winter's morning. Great location for visiting nearby towns and attractions.
Out room was next to the extractor fans, which were a bit of a distraction in the evening (but went off about 10ish).
Cozy room
Food served in bar was disgusting
Nothing No heating on through stay (2 weeks!) despite complaining and a fan noise constant never turned it off even when asked to Room not cleaned Staff rude young and openly admitted wished hotel part didn’t exsist
Nothing No heating on through stay (2 weeks!) despite complaining and a fan noise constant never turned it off even when asked to Room not cleaned Staff rude young and openly admitted wished hotel part didn’t exsist
Shower pressure was good.
Bathroom was small. Could have done with a refurb
The general friendly atmosphere but professional run inn
Everything
Helpful & efficient despite being very busy . Ensuite with bath.
Tiny room steep stairs.
The atmosphere, genuine oldy world feel
Nothing
Lovely down stairs
Room 1 was too small, big boxed of section, ceiling to stairs. Not enough room to get in bed, bathroom to small. Bed in front of window so blocking lovely view.
Location and staff
Bathroom needs updating shower screen mouldy and toilet seat broken and loose
Quiet location, comfortable ambience, good value for money.
Stairs creaky and steep. Room decoration a little dingy.
Very good atmosphere and helpful staff.
There was no night porter.
