Nada.
Everything, dirty towels, old, smelly
Nothing
Garbage in the hallway, dirty sheets, lights not working, heat/ac in room not working, crumbling walls in hallways and bathroom, rusty towel rack, many bathroom floor tiles cracked, fire doors propped open, generally everything is dilapidated. Elevator tiles falling off, do not occupy order sign on wall of area of the building. Also the torn up front access to the building. Manager shrugged his shoulders at many complaints by us and others.
Major underground work going on right in front of lobby entrance. Parking stuck. Old and rundown looking outside
Absolutely nothing to like about this disgusting location.
Everything! The staff told me the room was fully paid for before arriving so when we did arrive and we were confused about that and asking questions they would talk over us and not explain. The room was absolutely disgusting. The walls were filthy, there was a hole in the wall with exposed wires. I honestly didn't feel safe. It was like walking through a run down building that drug addicts use to live in. It smelled like cigarette smoke. The room had 2 beds in it. On one of the bed covers there was a yellow spot. The staff said it's dog pee and charged us for that yellow spot. Here's the thing I have 3 Great Pyrenees mixes and a king shepherd husky all fully grown dogs, when they pee it's a freaking dog made lake not a tiny yellow spot. My dogs are accustomed to hotels as they go everywhere with us when we travel and they are fully potty trained. I inspected that yellow spot and it was completely dry and didn't spell like pee. But they insisted that it was. The manager acted like he was doing us a favor by charging us less. We will never stay there again. It used to be our go to spot for family functions and other things because they used to be nice. Now I won't recommend them to anyone again. It was a Very bad experience and I was very disappointed.
Plenty of towels and a nice shower
“Condemned” notices on the doors of many of the rooms. Stains on the drapes. Loud neighbors with domestic violence. We should have read the reviews before booking our reservation.
Nothing
Dark, police presence arresting person, bodily fluid stains on pillows, room, and bedding. Broken walls and elevator walls.
Deserves no stars. This is not a hotel anyone should want to stay at. It is not maintained, it does not feel safe. This hotel is in no condition for paying guests. The unhoused seemingly congregate here. Smoking indoors, holes in walls, exposed wires, burn marks and stains on everything. This is a dump. We had to leave and stayed at another place. This hotel wouldn’t give me a refund, I tried calling and only get hung up on. Embarrassing
Everything!
Nothing!
Convince
Was not that clean I was charged $10 because one towel had a coffee spill on it
I liked the bed it was comfortable and it was nice to have pillows that were not excessively thick.
The room didn’t have any power outlets, I had to unplug the alarm clock to get one. Most hotels have USBs in lamps now but yours don’t. The gym isn’t very good.
The location was good and the renovations seem to be working. it is an old hotel and the ground floor rooms are not safe and have huge gaps under the entrance door. Basic room for the price
Having to use a key versus access card
My husband and I were driving from Vancouver to the Yukon because my dog had hip surgery. I spent a lot of time picking the stays for this journey, they had to be pet friendly and have air conditioning for the comfort of my animal. Do not be fooled by the photos on this website. They are extremely misleading, the hotel is far more run down than it appears. The hotel is half shut down. The lobby doors are not all used and the restaurant has very limited hours. The location is good. We were able to walk to the grocery store and to a restaurant that was actually open late. When we checked in, I explicitly explained to the clerk that my dog just had his hip replaced and that he’d be on medication in the room. We brought as many of our own blankets in for the animal as we could. I don’t know if all the animal friendly rooms are in the same area but our room was as far back as humanly possible and smelt like stale cigarette smoke. The room was very old, in desperate need of an upgrade and a good clean. There were two beds in the room, when my husband went to put our suitcase on the one bed, the bed fully broke. The frame had clearly been “Half ass-ed” fixed from the last time it broke. The Mickey Mouse 2x4 that was holding it together busted and there was screws and wood splinters everywhere. After, what can only be described as the worse sleep we’ve had in a hotel due to the worst mattress and pillows, we left the following morning. Fast forward to today, checking my credit card statement when I see two additional charges from this hotel. I promptly called the hotel and was informed that due to the dog hair and “stains” on the sheets the charged me extra. Once again, my dog just had hip surgery, he drools from the orange coloured medications and some of it got on the sheets. Furthermore, a stain indicates it does not come out. It will fully wash out of anything. My dog slept on the floor in his own blankets but he’s black and his fur shows up on white sheets. When we checked in we were charged a fee for the dog, pretty standard and to be expected but then to have two more charges show up without any information AND no accountability for the second bed in the room that was unusable and broken, is more than a little infuriating. I would steer clear of this hotel in Fort St. John. Try the Holiday Inn or the Best Western. They are all super close in proximity to each other.
Nothing
Everything was filthy the bathtub was falling through the floor staff was awful
Absolutely terrible experience with the Radisson Fort St John. I called the hotel after check out to discuss the credit card charges to my credit card, that were placed on there without discussion or a receipt. The four separate times I called, I was told the General Manager would call me back. To date, I have not received a phone call or a response. I have emailed twice as well. No response. I stay at this hotel consistently 1-2 times per month and have for the last three years, but due to this experience, I will not book any more stays at the hotel. I highly suggest others check their credit cards upon check out, and if there is an issue, don't expect a response from the General Manager.
There was a storage room full of dirty beds that had the door knob removed right beside my room. Once in my room I noticed the drop down ceiling in the bathroom which was beside the dirty storage room . So anyone could access the room from the unlocked storage room. The room was dirty and the was were sprayed with cement. The room looked dirty including a stain on the bed . I was in the room 5 minutes them went downstairs to ask for a refund explaining my reasons. They offered another room but I didn’t feel safe . I left without a refund or my room deposit.
The staff and the location
No water in the room
easy to find
Room was to have 2 queen beds. Had one and a sleeper sofa. Bathroom floor tiles badly broken. Room was apparently in an addition, it was a long way from the elevator, and through a maze of hallways.
My wife and I stayed at the Radisson Hotel in Fort St. John one night, as we had an early morning flight from the airport and didn't want to drive an hour from our house to the airport at 3:00am. The hotel had my reservation and the check-in process was smooth. I did feel a $100.00 deposit for this hotel for one night was rather steep. It's not that fancy a hotel. Supper at the hotel's restaurant was quite good, and our server was amazing! We left before breakfast started, so I can't comment on that. Our room was clean, but the stuccoed walls are rather dated. I'm not overly concerned with having a high tech super modern hotel, so it didn't bother me, but I was surprised by that. The front desk gave us our wake up call in time and our check out process was smooth. The hotel is centrally located both close to the Alaska Highway and downtown Fort St. John. It's also less than fifteen minutes to the North Peace Regional Airport, which was nice. Overall ,our experience was positive, and we may stay there again in the future should we have a need to overnight in Fort St. John.
There were only two things I didn't really like. I feel that a $100.00 deposit for one night's stay at any hotel anywhere is too steep, and especially a small hotel in a small city like Fort St. John. My other comment isn't really a dislike, but more a comment that the hotel may wish to update the decor in the rooms. While my wife and I appreciate retro, I'm not sure how many others would be surprised at finding stucco walls in the guest rooms. Given the age of the stucco, I'd also be concerned about pieces of it falling off in the bed while we sleep. Other than that everything was good.
Room was not cleaned well, stains on night stand, tv box did not work, mini fridge was not plugged in on arrival, stairwell door to room was jarred and had to be opened by staff member. Lights burned out in hallways and fire stairs. DO NOT OCCUPY notices around hotel by city building inspector. Staff was not helpful and rather unfriendly. No receipt given on departure (was told booking.com provides a receipt which would the be the first hotel I’ve experienced this at). 100 dollar CHARGE on credit card for damage deposit rather than a pre authorization. Will have to see if this charge is reversed in next 10 business days.
Convenience to the mall and other businesses
Nothing
Breakfast was simple but hit the spot just right. I was on foot with my truck in the shop and the hotel was in a nice spot with many amenities around.
The elevator was a bit rough looking but ran fine.
Great
Bed
Breakfast was fair and the rooms were clean.
I didn’t feel safe. There was a drunk man banging on doors, but including ours. There was no security so the young woman at the desk was solely responsible for dealing with him. Somehow he had pushed into the hotel thru locked doors. The police were eventually called and removed him, but needless to say we did not sleep well.
The bed was clean
Dirty, run down and not worth over $80 a night
Breakfast was a bit weak. It was very basic compared to comparable free hotel breakfasts
Worst hotel experience I have ever had! As others have complained about, extra charges put on my card. We had three rooms booked. A second room also had extra charges. Registered a complaint with Radisson Hotels Canada. Waiting for resolution.

When we checked in and went to our room we found that we had booked a king and we were given a 2 queen room. I went back down to reception and asked if we could get the room that we had reserved and paid for. I was told they had none and I explained that I had paid extra for the king room and that wanted to know if a refund for the difference could be made. I was told in not so many words "try and get a room in this town tonight for under $200... I explained politely that I had made the reservation weeks ago and at that time the 2 queen room was $40 cheaper than the king room and that we opted for the king.. they said they would upgrade our room... so they still put us in a queen just on a higher floor... room was not the cleanest.. hotel is run down tiles falling off in the main area and elevator.. have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and will not be staying again.
I had booked two rooms for two nights. The window was cracked in one of the rooms and the other room had water damage to the point that the ceiling was starting to cave in.
Very nice hotel. Breakfast is not the greatest but will do in a pinch. For the peice point highly recommended. Would appreciate some.better english speaking staff.
It sucked
I was charged $35 on my Visa which I was notified by on my way home. I called and asked to speak to the managers three times about it and never got a call back they're crooks as far as I'm concerned
This place is a dump! Spend the extra $40 and stay at the RAMADA up the road! Staff at front desk wouldn’t allow my husband to check in without me there, even though I was on the phone approving it! They have rooms that are closed off and have “DO NOT OCCUPY”WHY? My guess bugs or something toxic. TRUST ME STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THIS DUMP
excellent service and very quiet place.
The property is nice, the staff are excellent, had to wait a extra 15 minutes for my room to be ready after check in time but that wasn't to bad. They are very busy here. Avery Shoaf stayed here during my stay as well so that was pretty cool!!
Location
Nothing
The room is ok for the price. The hotel is a bit dated. The breakfast is really minimal. There were a few sausages left at 6:30. No bacon was served. Very tiny pancakes. Only overcooked hardboiled eggs. No fruit, no yogurt, no muffins or baked goods. Most guests were working men, pretty skimpy breakfast for them to start off their day.
Very nice place ,quiet and in walking distance to alot of things
I stay in hotels for work around 12 days per month and have for over 3 years. This is the first hotel that charged me 50.00 for dirty towels …. They charged my card at 1 am probably thinking I wouldn’t notice but I did. Was told Manager would call me after weekend and have heard nothing . Unacceptable
The towels were stained. Ceiling in bathroom falling.Extra charges on my card.
I liked the layout of the room, outdoor entrance, the lighting
-At check in the property mngr was trying to get me to pay more even though i used booking.com because he couldnt find the reservation. He was very demeaning as well, I was trying to pay the rediculous charges and deposits for my pets and he pushed my money back at me although we were half way thru a our checkin. -The a/c was rattling loudly, -Extremely overcharged pet deposit -I locked myself out the rm after 11pm and staff needed to come use master key but on the way to the rm a drunk person started following me and tried to come into my rm and the staff just walked away. I felt unsafe. -there was nowhere for my dogs to go out to pee within vicinity -an extremely ear piercing fire alarm went off at 4am scaring me and startling us all, the dogs were in agony as we all were for over 25 min. My husband called the front desk, found out it was thru the whole bldg, she could shut it off, but she was not going to. -my husband was the only one who could access the rm with the key, I couldn't get it to work not once, bad locks on door -apon check out, they checked the rm, then came back and said they were charging us 50 for dogs to the sheets and towels. There was a smudge of eye make up that would come out in the wash and a yellow stain on the bed. When we asked which bed they found that in, to our horror, it was in the bed we did not sleep in, she said the bed by the A/c and we slept in the bed by the bsthroom, the sheets were not even pulled back on that bed and our dogs sleep in the kennel and not with us on the beds. This stain was absolutely NOT from us! When we had told the property mngr this was not our error but in fact theirs, he still 'stole' my money refusing to give me back my full deposit.this an absolute mistake choosing this hotel.
Don't let the lobby fool you! The lobby is nice and looks fairly new. Once you get to the rooms you realize how tired and outdated the hotel is.
?
the key card kept failing. The elevator was really slow.
All appears good except there was no shelf in the shower. As crazy as it sounds, I had to walk out of the shower to the sink whenever I needed shampoo or soap. The sink didn’t drain. But on a good note, they replaced the carpet with a hard surface flooring. Much cleaner. Breakfast was ok, not a bagged serving.
New owners are working to bring the property back up to standard so there are still signs of things needing updating. There is hot breakfast but no fresh fruit or yogurt. The advertising for the restaurant in the hotel is very misleading. The bottom line is often, you get what you pay for, so overall we were satisfied and wish them well.
Front desk staff was nice.
First room we were given had a broken lock. Second room had 3 pillows on a king size bed with a couple staying in the room. Housekeeping staff were loud, banging doors and walls continuously throughout the day starting at 7am. We booked for 4 days but left after 2 because of the noise. Radisson has yet to refund us for the 2 days we didn’t stay. We have called multiple times and the manager is now dodging our calls. We did not want to put this up but he will not get his head out of his butt and do what should be done. We now request 3 days refund due to his lack of attention and all the extra work we had to put in just to make him do what’s right.
Beds weren’t properly cleaned or changed, not a comfortable hotel to stay at. Ice machine broken, poor service, not friendly
Worst experience ever. Never stay there again. The rooms are dirty. The food spoiled. I guess they don’t know how to use bleach or any good soap for laundry, because they will claim you make stains in the sheets. And if you don’t check your cards they double charge the alleged damage. So you need to be careful. I recommend never to stay there. I’m still waiting for a clarification about the extra extra charge.
Is terrible the worst experience ever. Dirty, food spoiled. And if you don’t pay attention they will make extra charges in your cards. I’m still waiting for clarification. Never stay there again.
Very convenient for traveling through the area
Good
Good
Convenient and safe area plus easy to access, room is quiet and clean, :)
Friendly staff
I had an early checkout. The hotel did not refund the additional nights.
Stayed here twice and both times I have had to ask for a different room. Rooms are advertised as non smoking which I booked. Both times the room I got wreaked of cigarette smoke and I had to request another room.
Nothing. From the moment we pulled up we could tell it was going to be rough.
So so so so so dirty. And everything is dented, broken, worn, stained and the smell in our room was horrible
The staff were helpful and made changes when we asked.
Hotel decor a bit dated but still ok.
Great hotel
It was so terrible,so my husband pay 100$ cash for damage deposit upon checking out the staff said the found 3 small stain in the sheet then they charge 100$ for that stain.Omg never stay in that hotel again bad experienced.
Property was clean, cozy, and quiet.
Older hotel, some renovations. Wasn't the cleanest but ok for a bed for the night.
They will charge you $35 per stain. Don’t stay here. Worst experience ever.
The bed needs a new mattress the mattress is worn out it's all sunken down in the middle it's terrible to sleep on didn't get good sleep at all.
We were moved into a newly renovated room which was comfortable but small. Based on the room price the accommodations were good.
Smells
Great accommodation. Clean and quiet. Excellent value in the budget hotel category.
Nice oeoplenice place.
The location was great close to food, shopping and the highway
The bathroom floor was dirty. The beds were not comfortable. Was was too soft the other too hard. When I checked in, I went to 4 different rooms until one was given with 2 beds. It wasn’t the checkin persons fault, the computer system showed double beds but were all kings and I had to go up and down 4 times changing rooms until they found a 2 bed room for my family. Also we arrived late and the complimentary breakfast was only from 6-8am.
Beds not made during 4 days stay. Asked for hair dryer 2 times because hotel dryer doesn’t work. (Bought our own after second day)
