The Chill Resort and Spa, Koh Chang

This place was amazing. We had a room where the patio was right on the pool. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. They have a flexible free breakfast policy - you can go order your breakfast at anytime of day, not just the morning. So if you don't want to eat a big meal in the morning, you can have a big brunch instead. They also have kayaks and bikes you can use.

Second time round staying here, the staff are always super polite and helpful the food is always good. Pool entrance right outside the room patio doors so if you don't want to mix with other guests you can just relax in your own little world. Nice spa treatments for her and happy hr for him. car can be arranged for pick up and drop off to ferry terminal. 😂 will of course be going back there next visit. very close to some other restaurants and bars in the road.

Not much of a beach but there's plenty of sunbeds with conopys next to the pool.

Fijne locatie, links en rechts naast het resort is veel te doen. Resort was erg mooi en vooral personeel in restaurant en receptie verdienen complimenten. Ze deden echt hun best om ons verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Ontbijt is a la carte zonder vaste tijden tijden wat ik persoonlijk top vind. Toen we naar strand verderop wilden gaan werden we gebracht en gehaald door de resort taxi. De kamers waren schoon en eigenlijk was alles top!

הגענו לגן עדן. מלון מושלם, הוא לא חדש, אבל הוא מתוחזק ברמה מאוד גבוהה, לכן בכלל לא הרגשנו את זה. מלון מתאים יותר לאנשים שאוהבים שקט ושלווה. רמת הניקיון פה הכי גבוהה שיכולה להיות, גן מטופח ומאוד יפה. בריכה - חלוםםםםם, נקייה ויפה בטירוף, לקחנו חדר עם גישה לבריכה - מושלם 😍 , יש גם בריכה מרכזית עם נוף לים - מעלף. שירות של הצוות במלון פשוט מושלם - כל דבר שאתה צריך מיידית אתה מקבל מענה ועזרה, הם אפילו מנסים לנחש מה אתה צריך בלי שאתה מבקש ולעזור. כולם מחייכים ואנשים מקסימים. והדובדבן שבקצפת זאת ארוחת בוקר ושירות במסעדה- מאמא מיה - ואו. לארוחת בוקר אפשר להגיע משעה 7 בבוקר עד 7 בערב פעם אחת כמובן ולשבת שם ולאכול כמה שבא לך,יש תפריט עם מבחר עצום של המנות ומשקאות והשירות של המלצרים וטבחים אךךךךך, הם מוכנים לבשל ולהביא לך כל מה שאתה צריך או רוצה, אפילו מנות שלא מופיעות בתפריט, רק תגיד. בקיצור בשבילנו אין מילה אחרת להגדיר את המלון הזה חוץ משלמות 💙.

We have stayed in a lot of hotels on koh chang and the chill for us, is the perfect blend...it has something special. Having also stayed at the retreat (The more expensive sister hotel) We would still choose the chill every time and can't wait to return. To summaries... The pools are top notch, clean, perfect temperature & fantastic views. The staff are all fantastic, stand out mention for Touch who is outstanding and always goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. The rooms are always clean and well kept, ok not the best rooms but nice enough with the beds and pillow being super comfortable, Aircon is ice cold ❄️ All you can eat À la carte breakfast available anytime of day is such a great idea, we loved having this sat right at the front with uninterrupted views is certainly a special experience. There is a small private beach and kayaks available to use which we did for a little trip to one of the small islands. *Tip* They do deals out of season so always go direct and check out the prices.

As soon as you walked in you could feel the peace The staff were absolutely amazing they couldn’t do enough for you from Ploy on reception to film and phue in the restaurant ( so sorry if spelt wrong ) The breakfast was outstanding with a beautiful view Even though the gym was small we had to ourselves most days We will definitely be back without a doubt

The staff are very attentive Great stay at The Chill Resort Koh Chang. Beautiful beachfront location, very relaxing atmosphere and lovely pool area. The rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Al a carte breakfast which you can have anytime you want. Proper chill! Extremely comfy beds. The sunset is divine from the infinity pool! Paradise. Perfect place to unwind if you're looking for somewhere peaceful on the island. Would happily stay again.

More table furniture was required in the rooms, other than that everything was perfect.

Lives up to its name. An oasis of calm. Beautifully maintained gardens and lovely pools for swimming . Delicious food, the breakfast is amazing and you can have it anytime of day. The staff are lovely and very efficient and attentive. Nice little beach for access to the sea. I particularly liked that it was quiet in the evenings. There’s plenty of nightlife on the street outside but nothing to disturb a good nights sleep in the resort.

De kamer was wat klein met slechts 1 stoel binnen en zeer weinig kastruimte. Massages zijn aan de prijs en planning verloopt rommelig.

- 220 Baht für ein kleines Bier!! Klar darf es in einem so schönen Hotel etwas mehr kosten aber das ist definitiv zu viel. 100m weiter gibt es eine nette Strandbar, wo das Bier 70 Baht kostet. Kaum jemand konsumiert bei diesen Preisen etwas am Pool, schade!

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were consistently attentive, exceptionally friendly, and always helpful—you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Every request we had was fulfilled without hesitation. A particular highlight was the breakfast. Instead of a buffet, you could order à la carte. It was also a real luxury to be able to enjoy breakfast at any time of day. The hotel itself is very clean and modern, and the entire complex is beautifully designed—lots of greenery, lots of peace and quiet, and a noticeable focus on sustainability. You can tell that a lot of importance is placed on a conscious and responsible concept here. We would book this hotel again anytime. A big thank you to the entire team for their wonderful hospitality!

Where to start, the staff are all brilliant happy attentive nothing to much trouble, from the complamentry fruit and water while sunning to the room ice service. The food is top notch good quality and fresh as my lobster tasted so good. Rooms are big and shower area huge with access to the pool direct from the room it all makes it a special holiday. Will definitely be back. It was early Nov when I went so not busy which is great no idea I'm sure in high season it would be different but still a great place to stay.

No real beach altho you can access the sea but very stoney entrance. Just stick to the pool anyway.

Les tarifs du restaurant et du bar. Heureusement un grands nombres de restaurants se trouvent aux alentours de l’hôtel. Les cocktails non compris dans l’open bar, vraiment dommage…

Very good service, soft pillows, very comfortable to sleep on. The receptionist gave a great welcome. If I have a chance, I will go back to use the services at The Chill again.

The hotel was right next to the beach with the ability to kayak to other islands directly opposite. The hotel staffs were very friendly and spoke fluent English. There are a selection of shops and restaurant within walking distance. The only annoying thing I found is after every housekeeping, mosquitos often find their way into the room.

The staff were amazing - so attentive.

Super lovely staff and really lovely grounds. The infinity pool was a lovely way to start the day overlooking the beach, and the restaurant in the morning overlooking the water was a stunning way to get the day started!

The rooms were super dated, like they hadn’t really been maintained much since the hotel was built. It didn’t really seem high quality to me and definitely felt older than it looked in the pictures. The same goes for the spa - the spa felt quite dated and for that price range I expected a much more luxurious spa treatment. At that quality you’re better off paying 300 baht across the street.

The restaurant was first class. There is breakfast practically all day, which makes your stay very flexible. The pool is great, the environment is very green and jungle-like. The restaurant offers first class dinner options. The wellness area was wonderful. The beach was better than expected. There are stones in the sea, which is not the hotel's fault. However, you can reserve kayaks free of charge.

We had an unpleasant experience at the check-in that felt like a scam: We had booked a family room with a double bed for the adults and a sofa bed for two children (6 and 8 years old). However, it is not possible to fold out this sofa bed and let two children sleep on it (picture below). When we expressed our great surprise at this, we were asked to pay 2000 Baht for an extra bed - in a room that was expressly rented for two adults and two children! When we asked whether 2000 Baht was the price per night or for the entire stay, we were told that this was for the entire stay. We agreed - disappointed - because our children needed a normal (!) place to sleep and the hotel did not see any own responsibility. When checking out, however, we were asked to pay 2000 Baht per night (!), which clearly contradicted the information we received upon check-in - and mind, for a room that we had booked for two adults and two children! We then agreed on a one-off payment of 2000 Baht - but we still have the unpleasant feeling that we were not treated honestly and the hotel rented out a room for 2 adults and 2 children which was NOT made for two children, just to later charge you for an extra bed.

The beach is not big but big enough. The food was very good a high standard. The staff always very polite. The waiter Film remembered our breakfast order each day and the Manager Dee came to see if we needed anything and was extremely accommodating

All met our expectations

The hotel is compact, resembling a "train-style" layout with one long building featuring rooms and a pool directly in front of them. Despite its size, the property is clean and boasts an excellent location in the heart of the central street. Staff: The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Special mention to Film and Dee, who consistently checked in on us to ensure our stay was enjoyable—this personal touch was greatly appreciated. Breakfast: The breakfast service is outstanding, available from 7 AM to 9 PM, offering incredible flexibility for guests. Amenities: The pools are well-maintained and clean, with free kayaks available all day, which is a fantastic perk for guests. Overall, while the hotel is small, its cleanliness, prime location, and attentive staff make it a pleasant place to stay.

Room Size and Conditions: The rooms felt quite small, with limited space for luggage, which was inconvenient. The rooms were very humid, likely due to the weather and proximity to the pool. While the air conditioning and dehumidifier were provided, they didn’t seem to resolve the issue effectively. Unfortunately, this is likely something beyond the hotel’s control. Mosquito Problem: There were many mosquitoes around the property. It would be helpful if the hotel could consider regular spraying to manage this issue better. Restaurant and Spa Pricing: The restaurant and spa services are significantly overpriced, which is typical for hotels but still disappointing. For example, spa treatments are priced similarly to those in Europe, while local street spas offer the same services at a fraction of the cost (up to six times cheaper). The same applies to food and drinks—pricing could be more competitive to enhance guest satisfaction. Additional Charges for Children: I was charged extra for my child’s bed despite there already being two beds in the room. It’s unclear why an additional fee is applied when booking a stay with a child upfront. This policy feels unnecessary and unfair. Transportation Costs: The hotel charges 1,100 THB per person for a taxi to Trat, while a private van accommodating up to eight people costs 3,000 THB elsewhere. This means guests are effectively paying double for the same service when booking through the hotel, which doesn’t reflect well on guest care. Overall, while some challenges like humidity may be unavoidable due to location, there are areas where improvements could significantly enhance the guest experience, particularly around pricing policies and mosquito control.

Beautiful resort- we stayed in one of the pool side rooms and it was incredible to enjoy the pool without having to even leave our room. The sun mainly hits the main pool and the staff brought around fresh fruit to help us cool off! They have kayaks for use and the staff were really helpful setting us up with one (although the islets are deceptively far!)

Watch out for mosquitos as there is a lot of open water

Wow! We have been to Thailand multiple times and it’s known that the Thai are great people but the service at The Chill Resort is unmatched. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure we have a pleasant stay! We really enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and staying at the pool for the whole day!

Very inconvenient we experienced for the room on the top floor. The balcony is only accessible through the “living room” and not from the master bedroom. So when your kids at sleeping at night you have to pass them at night to chill on the balcony and although it’s a great place the price is just too high, we’ve spend €4500 for 10 nights but for that price we would expect a little more like included dinner or drinks. The room and the pool only is not justifying the price to be honest.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 week at the beginning of our Thailand vacation. It was such a treat and a very special place to stay. From the moment we arrived the staff were so very kind, friendly and helpful. Always a smile and willing to help. The room was lovely with a large balcony and excellent amenities. The resort offered a complimentary dinner for one evening as well as a complimentary spa service. Breakfast was included daily and it was truly a 5 star breakfast. My dietary issues were easily accommodated and the variety of options was incredible. The quality of the food was beyond any that we had previously experienced. There was always a place to sit by the pool and staff offered bottles of water regularly to the guests. I can't wait to come back and experience this all over again. Thank you for a great week!

We have just returned from a lovely 5 night stay at The Chill. We had such a wonderful relaxing time and absolutely loved the resort and all the staff who worked there. Despite some less than favourable reviews of the beach, we found it perfect for us and our small children 6, 8 and 10. We highly recommend a day trip on a sailing catamaran which was a definite highlight (we used SUP Station and it was perfection!). We stayed in the splash room which was perfect for us as the kids played in the pool all the time. The hotel offers 1 meal per day from a limited menu which you can choose from breakfast items and local dishes. This was such a great idea as we sometimes weren’t keen for breakfast first thing so did a lunch or dinner here and there. The thai massage was so beautiful and we participated in a fun experience of making natural hand scrub, all organised by the hotel. We also did the Kae Bae waterfall which was quite difficult to get to and fairly dry due to lack of rain so would not recommend with small kids or older guests. The best part of our stay was the staff. Particularly Nina at the front desk and Paul and Film from the restaurant. They were all so attentive and anticipated our needs before we asked. They also went above and beyond for any of our requests. Thank you, we will be back!

It was a super nice hotel! Great service from all the staff. Lovely food and an incredibly nice breakfast! The location is in the middle of the city. I think the center here is the coziest on the island. There is a bar on the beach right next to the hotel which was perfect for having drinks at sunset.

The AC in rooms is smelly and requires cleaning. We changed room and which helped but was still not good. Luckily we didn’t require AC due to temperature conditions.

The level of service is incredible - every little detail is thought of - thank you the entire team and especially Dee. The facilities are also wonderful, with the long infinity pool overlooking the ocean and the access to it right next to the pool. There’s a very small beach only during low tide (afternoon) so please note if you’re looking to lay on a beach. Breakfast is super nice, the restaurant is on the water and you can choose whatever you’d like from the menu, as many times as you like, which means every dish is prepared on demand. The rooms are also really nice and spacious. Location is wonderful: Kai Bae strikes the perfect balance between quiet and buzzing, and the hotel is located in the middle of the strip. Don’t hesitate, this is a wonderful, great value for money option!

Es war alles super. Das Frühstück war mega und hat keine Wünsche offen gelassen. Der Pool mit dem Meer dahinter ein Traum. Das Hotel isrvruhig gelegen, aber um die Ecke eine große Auswahl an Restaurants zu Fuß ereichbar. Perfekter Aufenthalt für uns. Als einzige Kritik könnte man sagen, dass sie besser ein „Adult only“ aus The Chill machen sollten. In den ersten Tagen waren. Nur Pärchen vor Ort und es war eine tolle entspannte Atmosphäre. Dann kamen Familien mit Kindern und es war nicht mehr wirklich schön. Unruhig und laut. Für Kinder ist das Hotel aus meiner Sicht nicht gut geeignet. Es gibt keinen Strand und keinen Spielplatz und auch keinen Kinderpool.

We loved the facilities, the infinity pool and closeby Spa building as Wellas the gym. The staff was exceptional and very sweet to our little one. We also loved the Green design and how the designers and architects of The Chill were able create a calm and rejuvenating oasis in which we always felt tranquility and positive energy. Also the activities offered by the resort were nice and gave a personal touch to our already overall very positive experience. On the last evening we were able to celebrate Loy Krathong and sent off little floats made out of ice to the sea…

Some parts, eg rooms of the stairs and floors, could perhaps get a modest overhaul in the next years….

New, modern, spacious rooms. Beautiful infinity pool on the edge of the sea. Good evening restaurant (although expensive) with extensive menu including vegetarian. Great location walking distance from many bars and restaurants.

All of the balconies were in the shade throughout the day. The pool area and sunbeds fell into shade early afternoon. Needs an evening cocktail bar separate from the restaurant. No beach although we knew that before we booked. We prefer buffet breakfast as small plates so we had to order seconds

The villa is just amazing value for money. Very clean and spacious. All fhe staff were super attentive and the à la carte breakfast options were very nice. The special Loy Krathong buffet dinner experience was also unforgettable. All in all it’s a very calm and relaxing hide out on the shore of Koh Chang with plenty of other dinner options close by. They also offer complimentary kajaks.

If I start cherry picking an outdoor shower at the villa would be a nice add on. Beware that the tiny beach is only there during low tide.

The cocktails were not good. Worth sending someone on a cocktail making course. The beach strip of the hotel is very small but we knew that before.

Not the best beach as it has many rocks. Do be mindful if you’re after a beach vacation. But the pool is great. Charge of 1000Baht per night for a 2.5kilo dog is a bit excessive considering no pet facilities are provided.

This is our second visit to The Chill and our first visit during the green (low) season. We felt like we were on a private island. Everything was superb: the restaurant, the spa (thank you for al the massages and the products) , the staff - who continue their amazing service even though the resort is quiet - and it was wonderful to return to our happy place and break from reality. We loved our stay at the Chill, from the wonderful and super helpful staff, to the layout of the hotel, its all day meal plan, the salt water infinity pool (very underrated having a salt water water pool), to the location in the literal heart of Kai Bae. The beds are comfy, shower nice, maid service impeccable and the balcony to each room just big enough to offer a nice relaxing day of reading or whatever. I see why the Chill is more expensive than other places but for me it’s worth the extra money. They even come in your room when you’re down at the restaurant and add lemongrass aroma from their own spa into your room diffuser. It’s those little touches that all add up.

A bit pricey.

We came here with family and friends and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were helpful and the rooms were beautiful and spacy. The pool area was nice. Dining options at the restaurant and in room service were great. We had some problems and could not leave on time and they offered late check out to us.

Hotellet är underbart, fina rum, trevlig personal, fräscht poolområde och väldigt fin och god frukost. Hotellet ligger nära mönga restauranger, butiker och drinkställen. Enda minuset är att där är knappt någon strand utanför, och är det lågvatten går det inte bada i havet pga väldigt stenig botten.
