Quality of bathroom and room is very dated

I loved the service at Le Dupleix. The hospitality was exceptional; the staff was polite and took great care of us. They surprised us with a cake for our special day and made it memorable. The room was clean and well-maintained. The property was located wonderfully, we didn't have to travel very far to all the spots we wanted to visit. I highly recommend Le Dupleix if you're considering staying at Pondy.

Place is lovely. A real historic building. Gorgeous rooms and beds to sleep in. Food is excellent.

There was music at night that ended very late and kept us awake! Like, till very late!

Loved the ambience of a historic building with French style architecture and antique decor. The staff was very good. Also loved location in white town with proximity to restaurants, shopping, beach, ashram, etc.

The bathrooms needs updating. Old and some rooms smelled.

We chose top floor despite stairs because verandah with comfortable chaise and breeze through old mango tree were beautiful on hot afternoon. Ambience so nice. Loved the access to pool at Promenade Hotel a short walk away at seafront. Room was quiet with good AC and great bed. Really enjoyed this heritage hotel. Each room we saw was different.

Eggs cooked to order were great but we found pastries not so good despite bakeries and reputation of French pastry being big in Pondi. Bread and cereals a little average as in all South India but hoped Pondi might be better. Staff confused re whether breakfast was at Promenade hotel ( not so) as noted in some reviews. Lucky I knew about using their pool from older reviews most people did not seem to know. And it is so hot it made a huge difference. Capuchino was a treat.

Didn’t check when we are coming as our flight was to arrive a bit late Did not communicate clearly regarding the upgrade which we were given Did not communicate that morning buffet breakfast was cancelled Had to repeatedly request simple things as extra towels or shower gel Poor supervision of junior reception staff

The staff was fantastic. Restaurant service excellent. Front desk wonderful. And Padmini and Upasana were so very sweet and helpful. Manager helped us out with special requests as well.

Last day internet for visa machine wasn’t working but that was NOT the hotel’s fault.

Sehr gute Lage und schönes Gebäude. Unser Zimmer war sehr großzügig und das Bett gut. Das Haus und Restaurant hat eine tolle Atmosphäre.

Das Hotel ist nicht besonders gut geführt was die Sauberkeit und die Abläufe angeht. Vieles müsste renoviert und erneuert werden .( Badezimmer)

The hotel's location was excellent (walking distance from the beach and a short drive from the airport). The restaurant was also excellent. The room was very clean. The staff were friendly. The hotel arranged for cars for local sightseeing, and also a drop to Chennai.

For room 6 the bathroom was not the usual hotel bathroom, but two small enclosures for toilet and shower inside the room, with no proper separation from the room.

The building was amazing, an oasis from the busy streets, lovingly restored with exceptional restaurant downstairs in perfect location

Staff were lovely but maybe just need to follow up and confirm requests like laundry/travel etc

The entire property with a rich history is what made the place unique. The staff was super friendly and special mention to Prabhu who made us feel so comfortable and even went out of the way to celebrate me and my wife’s birthday. The place is always buzzing with people and with live music on Fridays and Saturdays makes it even more special

We booked a penthouse room and expected the rooms to be a little bigger. It is actually a small room but clean and well maintained. There is no lift in the property but i can understand it is because to maintain the heritage of the property

Room decor was pretty bad... The bed , the washroom and yes no full length mirror.... The canopy on the bed extremely bad taste

Lovely property, beautifully restored and furnished. Restaurant usually quite good, if a little uneven. Spacious room.

Service not quite up to the price. Housekeeping staff thought I was joking when I asked if they had a softer pillow. Dirty breakfast dishes from someone else’s room service left all day on a table outside my room (two days in a row). One day no towels. Another day no soap. Seems like some staff needs additional training. Breakfast mostly good but burned baked goods were on offer more than once.

Food of poor quality at best, breakfast croissants like all the food over cooked. Alarming that croissants can be that poor in a French inspired hotel. Bathroom needs severe update. Cracked sink bath/shower area terrible. Lack of sleep due to glass door showing light all night.

Amazing heritage property with very warm staff.

Needs better parking management and also customer data was breached and a scammer contacted to make a payment .

Der ganze Aufenthalt war rundum super. Das Zustellbett wurde umgehend in dem sehr großen und sehr sauberen Zimmer aufgebaut. Die Zimmer sind sehr stilvoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Frühstück war perfekt, mit allem was dazugehört.

Just the location

The property has not been taken care of well. The room ha/ a damp smell and the walls also seem to be damp. The fittings in the bathroom are also old and dont seem to work. Our main shower was also not working in Room10. For the price they charge for the room they should work on enhancing the room. All the staff seems to be new and are very confused. The breakfast a most of the days was kind of erratic with only a few tables

The breakfast was mediocre. Only Nizam was good and knew what to do .. the rest were clueless in the breakfast team. My bed was king size but the matress was queen.why?

The room was cozy, =big enough with a nice veranda and well equipped. the location is exceptional with many attractions in a short walking distance

Although the dinner was fine, the meals in general are too expensive. Note than not all the rooms are equally good. we spend 3 nights and had to move after the first one to a better one

Old rooms, old and creaky furnitures. For the tariff of more than Rs.8000/night, there is no complimentary breakfast. Proper receipt for the payment has not been provided, only receipt for advance paid was provided. There is no complimentary breakfast even for Penthouse suite. No car park, the car should be parked only in the public road.

Beautiful hotel with a genuine heritage ambience. Very good food. Good breakfast. Lovely open seating places under exotic trees and arches.

We liked our old antique UNESCO hotel room, excellent feelings Breakfast was a Ok, not bad, less choices but good.

It was an old bungalow from the British era. With furniture and ambience well preserved

It was dark and felt a bit moist .could do with some thorough cleaning of floors.

The staff were outstanding and responsive. They put service front and centre. Call out to Padmini the housekeeper who went above and beyond to make our stay better. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to the sights in French quarter. The manager Kavitha is fab! The courtyard restaurant, greenery and I have to mention my favourite cocktail, the green mango margarita!

The first room we had was not great but the staff corrected that promptly.

Special thanks to Mrs. Padmini. She is very friendly and professional - the best housekeeping in India!
