Bella residenza storica nel quartiere francese di Pondicherry. Posizione eccellente. La stanza, essendo affacciata sul patio della dimora storica, non ha la finestra ma è un limite strutturale del contesto. Non è un resort ma comunque ha standard di pulizia alti.

All were very fine and our memory of stay on Pondy became fantastic thanks to Villa Shanti and all staffs there.

Sconsiglio vivamente la camera Standard, in particolare la n.2. La stanza si trova al piano terra e affaccia direttamente sul dehors del ristorante, quindi zero privacy e rumori fino a tarda sera. Il problema più grave è l'umidità: stanza umida con evidenti tracce di muffa alle pareti, abbiamo misurato un'umidità interna che ha toccato il 74%. Lenzuola e asciugamani perennemente umidi. Lo staff per la prima notte ci ha trovato una sistemazione alternativa al terzo piano (stanza 12, perenne rumore notturno causa motori dei condizionatori), ma la seconda notte, essendo l'hotel al completo, siamo dovuti tornare nella n.2. Ci è stato fornito un deumidificatore che purtroppo non era funzionante, personale poco collaborativo.

The hotel is beautiful and it is located in a convenient area of Pondicherry. The room I stayed in was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and the decor was charming. All facilities at the hotel were great and the staff are all so welcoming, friendly and helpful. It was like being looked after by your friends. It was superb. Oh, and the Dosa at breakfast was so good I had to order an extra one!

I only thing I didn’t like was that I didn’t stay for long enough!

Staff attentive but not intrusive. Always helpful and good natured. The old colonial building has been senstively restored, modern yet without losing its historic charm. It is located in the heart of White Town so lots to explore on foot or a short tuk tuk ride.

Indeed the structure of the hotel with a central area and all the rooms around is a bit noisy as highlighted by other travellers. Still it is tolerable and not too loud.

It wasn’t an inexpensive room, so I expected better. There were a few issues—the basin had a crack, the windows couldn’t be opened, and the layout felt impractical. Reception at the front office was warm. Staff is helpful. Food is good. It is a reasonably well maintained old/ heritage property. It is like staying in a house. The Bar cum lounge has good books kept for reading. Location is very convenient, and one can walk to all French Town attractions very easily. There are many restaurants available on walkable distances.

The room we were allotted was right on the ground floor and the door opened almost into the courtyard / passage where they run a restaurant hence seat their guests. The room had no scope to keep the windows open or even the door since there was crowd outside and no privacy. The room was a confined cabin lacking any openness. When I requested for a room on an upper floor they made me realize that those rooms were priced more. I felt that this should have become apparent to me when I booked my room on Booking.com but it wasn't described so. Since we chose to stay in a heritage villa converted to a Hotel we accepted that we cannot expect it to be like a purpose-built Hotel. Being a small property, there are no amenities available (Gym, Swiming pool) on site and they advise you to walk to their adjoining Hotel where these amenities can be enjoyed.

Expensive room rate for area. Same price as a 5 star hotel in Chennai with club lounge access! Room are basic. Not sure why such small TVs in the room. Better with no TV than small 19” ones

We loved the location within walking distance of the Promenade, parks, shops, cafés and restaurants. Staff were all brilliant, but special thanks to Subhajit and Raji, who organised our upgrade from Rm 2 on the ground floor to Rm 12 on the second floor, where it was quieter and more private. The bed in No.2 was softer and more comfortable, and the showers were among the best we've had in 2-mths of travel, though No.12 had slightly more pressure. We enjoyed a delicious fresh breakfast each morning, and the restaurant's reputation for great food is justifiably deserved. Cleaning staff did an excellent job of keeping everything clean and sparkling. A wonderful place!

We loved the privacy of Rm.12 at the end behind the palm tree, though the bed was too firm for our ageing bones!

The hotel was near the beach at white town..

The Hotel was extremely overpriced for the facilities provided while other hotels nearby had more value for the money. There was no lift we had to climb 2 stairs of flight. There was not even basic amenities like tooth brush.. The complementary breakfast was sad. A staff in the restaurant Was overly friendly. And we left something of ours at the restaurant and when went back and asked they said they didn’t find it. It was summer and the ac in the room was very old and did not cool properly.

The hotel is well-situated right in the center of White Town and a short walk to the beach. The staff was very accomodating and helpful in arranging excursions and activities. The room was very large.

We were asked to pay a higher rate than what we had booked. It was explained that this was due to the exchange rate. After a lengthy conversation with the receptionist, the manager intervened and suggested that we pay in local currency instead. We did, paying what Booking had quoted. It is a heritage hotel with no lobby. The restaurant/bar is in the courtyard and has strong ceiling fans, but no air-conditioning. We decided to have dinner somewhere else because of that. All in all we were very disappointed. It was highly over-priced -- our most expensive hotel in India (although it was over New Year's Eve) and our least favorite.

The hotel is very centrally located in the French area, “White Town” and the staff were absolutely amazing and friendly – they felt like family by the time we left Pondicherry. (A shout out to Stalin, our bartender, who was incredible). The restaurant is in the central courtyard of the building and was almost the best food we had in Pondicherry. (The very best place was La Villa, also owned by the owner of Villa Shanti).

The room was very clean and big. We had a nice breackfast and a wonderful dinner! They have the best staff: i need to thank you Miss Raji to help us for all we need (shopping suggestions, beaches, booking a table for dinner even if the restaurant was complete and for the massage inside the hotel).

The hotel was located in the Whitetown very close to the Rock Beach. The Terrace suite was decorated with taste and spacious enough for the 3 of us. It was clean and the food was delicious. Service with a smile - what more do you need ? The only minus could be the stairs you have to climb - for old people or people with some problem with their mobility this might be an issue.

The location, the food, the service and the room. They were very responsive right from the time of booking and very courteous. We booked a transport from Chennai airport to Pondicherry through them and even that was on time and a great ride.

Location is great, staff is very friendly, great breakfast by the courtyard, great menu for diner&bar. Room is simple but nicely done.

I personally didn't find the bed very comfortable and didnt like much the fact that the WC door opens towards the bed headboard (feels weird for the person sleeping on that side of the bed). AC made lots of noise. The outside noise can be a problem if one wants to call it an early night due to the music from the bar/restaurant downstairs. It stops at around 10.30-10.45PM.

The hotel has a very pleasant and cozy atmosphere. The room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The restaurant was excellent — the chef adapted the dishes to our needs and everything was delicious. The staff was extremely kind, always attentive, and helped us with everything. An incredible place — we’ll definitely be back!

The location is very close to Rocky beach, which can be reached by about 10 mins walk. Staff is humble and welcoming. Rooms and bed, linen is clean and comfy. The lighting and furnishing is not bad but scope for upgradatipn. You will be delighted once enter the room after you finish your trip outside. The temperature and Cooling of the rooms are amazing.

I didn't liked much of dining section and does look dirty walls, the quality of food served was not even close my expectations, ofcourse may be it's targeted for western style. The food menu is bit overpriced. The price paid for stay is not even close or justify the value, which is a huge disappointment. I wouldn't recommend the stay. The management policy is not transparent of services you ask for. You feel like been scammed for transport arrangement, for which I have been charged Rs. 1400 for airport drop, where as uber/Ola is at around Rs. 300. I expect to be clarified the price difference prior conformation. Ofcource the property is in prime location, and I expect the pricing could be bit reasonable and comparably affordable Overall I'm not satisfied with stay and the experience with Hotel.

Breakfast was excellent, sowbhaga ensured everything was perfect. My request for unsweetened almond milk was perfectly met and the coffee was delicious. Room was good.

Breakfast was a la carte and very nice. Thouroughly enkoyed the same and the options. Restaurant had a great ambience and was quaint and welcoming. The Room was disappointing to say the least. the WC was area was smelly as there was no air outlet or exhaust. the Shower area and wash basin had no door either. There was not enough sitting space.The electricxal sockets were difficult to use and located impractically. The TV was without a sviwel and could not be visible if one wanted to see from the bed.

All of the above. I wish the management would open the window from the shower area of Room No 1 to see the pathethic condition of cleanliness.

We had a late check in but the staff accomodated us and asked the kitchen to stay open. That was terrific. The food was delicious- we had 2 breakfasts, 1 light dinner and a full dinner. I loved the layout of the room and especially the design of the shower.
