The atmosphere is so calming and serene. All of the amenities are very nice and seem brand new. The staff is lovely (especially Htay) they go above and beyond to accommodate all your needs not to mention the views are insane!

Lovely location. On the most beautiful beach in the island. The upkeep could be improved. So could the service. Food is very good. And the location is worth everything.

Unfortunately my husband and I did not enjoy our honeymoon stay here. We found it to be unpleasant and totally overpriced compared to the wonderful stays we had in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Koh Phangan. We left feeling very disappointed; even grateful to be leaving. 1. Conditions of the rooms: Our first room had no running hot water in the shower, the rocking chair on the terrace was broken, and the cushions to the daybed (which we had to put on ourselves as the room was unprepared upon arrival) were filthy. Unlike other hotels we stayed at, upon arrival, we received a very bland greeting with no explanation of anything in the room or on the grounds. The only special honeymoon touch was a heart of rose petals on the bed. Our view of the beach from our porch was completely obstructed, counter to what is advertised online. When we went to reception to inform them of our room condition, they told us there were no other rooms. When I reiterated that there was no hot water, they then found a room for us to move to with a less obstructed view, but there was a leak in the fridge and a stain on the bed. We stayed because there was hot water (a low bar for a four star resort). Sadly, we would come to find out that the room had roaches (two, at least, that we saw and killed). We had to call reception to ask for room service several times (it was 2pm and we still had not gotten our room cleaned - this was most important because room cleaning meant new water bottles and towel replacement). I specifically want to mention this was important because the resort only gives you one towel for the shower and one for use at the resort. There are no hand towels provided. They also don’t replenish bathroom supplies (cotton pads, etc). The rooms are very outdated and it showed throughout our stay. 2. Breakfast: There are several workers standing around at breakfast. But other than directing you to a table, and cleaning your table with a dirty wipe, they do not support the breakfast traffic or mayhem. To get coffee, you must wait on a long line as there’s only two machines. Every other hotel that we stayed at in Thailand with the same star ranking had staff providing water and coffee at breakfast to prevent this kind of traffic. It felt careless. 3. Shuttle bus: They do offer shuttles to and from the pier and beach, which is helpful because the hotel is inconveniently located on top of a very steep hill. Like the pattern in the rest of my review, it is not comfortable. You are packed in like sardines on a very cramped shuttle where people are expected to sit on each other’s laps. When we first got on the shuttle from the pier, we were asked to put other people’s bags/luggage on our laps as it did not fit in the overhead. 4. Beach: this is a huge property. Our villa was a 10 minute walk from reception/breakfast (and that’s coming from NYers who walk everywhere). There were no chairs to be found at the beach. If you asked the staff for a chair, they’d tell you to get there earlier (we were there by 10am) or that the remaining chairs were broken. I only saw a stack of about 10 chairs the entire time we were there. But they had no problem charging for snorkeling masks. Overall, our stay felt lazy and unpleasant. I do want to shoutout the people who come to drop off and pick up luggage for the shuttles because they work very hard. But I would be wary; it did not even come close to meeting the standards every other hotel in Thailand set.

Our experience at Haadtien Beach Resort was truly incredible ! Everything was perfect : the beautiful view from our room, the food, the staff and the overall atmosphere. We participated in a Thaï Cooking Class, a very special thank you to Baw and Alex for this activity, which were one of the highlights of our stay ! 3 out of 5 because I'm devided to half. The hadtien is beautiful no question about it. The pools , the surroundings, facilities at cetera... But: Hideaway villas can be very remote and hi on the hill, and if you don't get the ones on the trail- you are about to get in shape... not in a good way. My recommendation is to take what ever Is suited to your budget- that is close to main area which is the reception, breakfast, main pool and beach villas. There are many rooms with balcony that are in the hadtien hotel , which is different from the beach resort. It's like 2 different levels- same name (hadtien).But also in there u need to choose wisely. There are very basic rooms and there are bigger and newer with better view to the ocean. To my opinion the hotel is basic , and need good maintenance to be better. The management was informed and did all they could to solve everything I asked which was wonderful and important. It's a good time to mention Dave the manager and sky from reception that we're great and did all they can to satisfy our requests. Smiling , available , and informative:) When I'll go back it's only for the beach villas , or the ones behind them . The view there is spectacular, the rooms are big ... Food was good , prices reasonable, pools are incredible, staff really nice , gluten free is available by request ... Hope I helped someone.

As has been written on this site previously this hotel has many many issues and is not a 4* hotel in anyway. The location is lovely and the majority of the staff were very helpful including the manager. However the quality of accommodation was very poor, run down, dirty and in need of major investment. We had to change room 3 times in the first 24 hours. What was interesting is how different even the same room category can be as the rooms are all going through some level of improvement. The old ones are really terrible and was more hostel than hotel. There was also construction still going on within the hotel site. Koh Tao as an island is wonderful but until this hotel has has a major renovation and significant investment I would avoid.

A lovely beach. Resort could be so much better. The staff are keen but it’s not quite up to a 5star standard! The rooms are clean enough but could be better & there are no special touches. Resort restaurants are pricey. Thankfully they offer a free 5 minute shuttle into Sairee town which has a great variety of restaurants. The pool is great but the pool loungers are basic & definitely need an upgrade. Snorkelling off the beach is amazing!

Must try place to come. It’s best beach for snorkeling considering I have been to many beaches in Thailand . We came in July which was best season for coming to koh Tao. The bungalow is ok a bit on the small side. The bed is comfortable . We got beach front bungalow which I recommend that you get . When we were there they were building two bedroom villa which I will try next time. Value is ok not high price and not low price. Food is average . You just pay for being on koh Tao with nature and beach which is extraordinary island

der Service vom Personal war fragwürdig, da ich auf Whatsapp nie eine Antwort auf meine Beschwerden oder fragen bekommen habe. auch der mit dem Shuttleservice war ich unzufrieden, man sollte 1 Tag davor bescheid geben und jedes mal fahren Personen mit die nicht gebucht haben? dann habe ich einen Tag auch vergessen zu buchen und mir wurde es untersagt mit zufahren danach bin ich zu den Fahreren gegangen und die haben mich mitgenommen?

Der var generelt rigtig beskidt og slidt rundt på resortet. Vi havde dagligt fuglelort i hytten, som kom fra huller i taget. Der kravlede yderligere karkelakker rundt i hytten. Restauranten på hotellet var virkelig dyr og maden meget ringe. Man bor desuden isoleret, og skal bruge en scooter for at kunne fra området. Hotellet har en shuttle, men de er fuldt booket de fleste dage.

This is not my first stay at the Haadtien, the hotel is still incredible, a haven of peace. The spot is in my opinion one of the most beautiful on the island. Insane beach! Definitely the nicest one on Koh Tao, it has that private quiet vibe, amazing sand and amazing clear blue water! The beach resort is super nice, clean and holiday vibes. Food is super good and staff are very friendly! Especially Htay, who let us know about all the special offers :) thank you. Would highly recommend here if you want a quiet day away from all the noise. Me and my boyfriend love to come here to treat ourselves as we live on the island :)

3 days stay started badly because of Agoda messed up our rooms and send a completely different id booking and room to the hotel so be careful booking with them or if u book contact the hotel immediately to make sure they have received the right information. Dave the Manager was amazing and helpful contacted Agoda immediately to try and find a solution because they didn’t have anymore a room for us as we had booked so eventually we stayed in the lower end of what we had booked but got a compensation of 30% of the initial price which was quite horrendous from Agoda even though i had booked a month in advance but nevertheless the resort was gorgeous well maintained the beach is amazing and the pool was breathtaking

Beautiful hotel amazing location.

The hotel needs to put on more shuttles. Even if they charge 100 baht for one the hour separate to free shuttles given how far out they are.

Sehr freundliches Personal, zum Schnorcheln ideal, Abendessen im Restaurant fantastisch. Gratis Shuttlebus und unkomplizierter Transfer. Liegeecke bei den Strandbungalows sehr gemütlich und toll um den Abend ausklingen zu lassen.

Sehr abgelegen, keine Shops / Restaurants in gehbarer Nähe. Buffet eher gering, keine frischen Säfte und keine Mangos wie auch keine Passionsfrüchte (keine 5 Sterne). Strand Bungalow in die Jahre gekommen. Die hinterstens drei Strandbungalows haben grosse Steine und kein Strand davor. Wenig Möglichkeiten zum Aufhängen von Tüchern, keine Kofferablagen, Balkontüre/Glasfront schliesst nicht bündig, Strand/Meer steinig, kein Ganzkörperspiegel. Die kleinen Tücher wurden die 4 Tage nie ausgewechselt.

Haadtien Beach Resort in Koh Tao We arrived at this resort excited to celebrate our wedding anniversary in what we believed was our dream room: a Castaway Beach Villa that we had carefully researched, selected, and paid for in full months in advance through Agoda. Like most travelers today, we compared prices across multiple booking platforms before making our reservation. We found the best rate, completed the booking, received a confirmation clearly showing a Castaway Beach Villa for the correct dates, and paid in full. As far as any reasonable customer could tell, everything was in order. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the resort, we were informed that Agoda had somehow transmitted the reservation incorrectly and that the resort had received it as a different room category. We were told this was due to an Agoda error. To be clear, we understood that mistakes happen. We understood that Agoda appeared to be responsible for the booking discrepancy. We also understood that the resort itself may not have caused the original error. The problem was not the mistake. The problem was the manager’s response. After reviewing our confirmation, the manager openly acknowledged that we had done everything correctly. He agreed that our reservation clearly showed a Castaway Beach Villa. He agreed that we had no way of knowing there was a problem before arrival. And he confirmed that they were sold out of the Castaway Beach Villas during our stay. Yet instead of trying to help, showing empathy, or even exploring possible solutions, he immediately shifted the blame onto us. We were repeatedly lectured for using a third-party booking site rather than booking directly with the resort. This was particularly frustrating because the overwhelming majority of travelers use booking platforms such as Agoda, Booking.com, and Expedia. Rather than recognizing us as customers caught in the middle of a dispute between two companies, he treated us as though we had created the problem ourselves. At no point did we feel that he was advocating for us. At no point did he appear interested in finding a compromise, exploring alternatives, contacting Agoda, or making any effort to salvage what was supposed to be a special anniversary trip. Instead, we were made to feel foolish, unwelcome, and somehow responsible for a mistake that everyone in the room agreed we did not make. What should have been one of the happiest moments of our vacation turned into one of the most upsetting. Within less than twenty minutes, we went from being excited to stay at this beautiful resort to standing in the lobby in tears. The manager’s dismissive attitude reduced my wife to tears, which in turn left me emotional as well. We felt humiliated rather than helped. This made me dig in even more and brought out my ugly side. He had made my wife cry. I REFUSED to settle for a lesser room than we had booked. I demanded that he find a solution. I began to raise my voice. Finally, a solution would be found by a very sweet hotel clerk that had witnessed everything. She called the manager over and told him that she could rearrange things and bump someone up to a higher room category and free up a room for us. This is when, for the first time in this whole experience that we finally heard the words “I’m Sorry.” We felt comforted that he had finally found his “customer service” skill. But then he followed it with “You are going to have to pay us the difference in the discounted rate you paid Agoda and the hotels standard rack rate”, if we wanted this newly freed up room. We were flabbergasted. Here he had the chance to make every thing better but instead he deliberately CHOSE to continue being an jerk. He demanded that we paid the difference for all 3 nights and wanted our credit card to do so immediately. He could easily had checked us in and sent us to our room and then later followed up with Agoda or his manager or something. But nope. He ran our credit card for another $350 and didn’t even blink. He said if we didn’t like it, to take it up with Agoda. Hospitality is not tested when everything goes right. Hospitality is tested when something goes wrong. Mistakes happen in travel every day. Great managers recognize that and focus on solutions. Unfortunately, this manager seemed far more interested in assigning blame than providing customer service. The booking error may have originated with Agoda, but the way we were treated was entirely the resort’s responsibility. Long after we’ve forgotten the reservation issue itself, we will remember how unwelcome and insignificant the manager made us feel during what should have been a memorable wedding anniversary celebration.

Einfach alles, das Hotel ist einfach ein einziger Traum!! Der Strand ist wunderschön und wird jeden Tag mehrmals gereinigt. Der Pool ist auch ein Traum und sehr sauber. Das Essen ist top genauso wie das Personal! Einen Roller kann man dort auch einfach ausleihen einfach an der Rezeption fragen und man wird innerhalb von ein paar Minuten von einen Rollerverleih abgeholt. Man darf auch 1 Std. kostenlos vom Hotel ein SUP ausleihen, perfekt um schnorcheln zu gehen. Die ganzen negativen Bewertungen kann ich nicht zustimmen, ja es wird dort viel umgebaut aber das stört gar nicht. Und ja die Anlage ist sehr weitläufig und steil aber das macht es auch besonders und man hat eine schöne Aussicht! Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und modern eingerichtet. Wir haben es bereut dort nur 4 Nächte gebucht zu haben.

WOW! What a location... The beach is cleaned daily and shallow so gets few boats from the outside. We enjoyed the snorkelling in Shark Bay but found mostly large turtles. Rooms were very clean and well equiped. Pool was also great and as it was "low season" we had no crowds. Staff was also super helpful.

Erittäin miellyttävä paikka ja bungalow omalla patiolla oli myös erittäin hyvä. Hotellin ravintolan ruoka oli hyvää ja edullista. Kävin myös kaksi kertaa hieronnassa, niitäkin voin suositella. Ranta on mahtava uimiseen ja snorklaamiseen, pidemmällä on kilpikonnia. Uima-allas on myös mahtava. Nautin suunnattomasti.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at Haad Tien Beach Resort. The bay is breathtaking and the bungalows are super comfortable. A big shoutout to the staff, who were always friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and they have a great selection. We had also booked the romantic dinner option at the beach and it was very beautiful. Overall, it was a wonderful holiday in a paradise-like setting.

This resort is absolutely beautiful. Everything about the service was amazing, especially her ❤️ (one of the female staff members). I honestly want to stay here for 15 days 😂 The beach at night is so beautiful — you really shouldn’t miss it!

Kai and Su made my experience great! At first hotel policy were confusing and for a moment I thought ill never return here but then the service of the crew was exceptional and they had great energy which made me change my mind. Its also a uniquely beautiful place. I hope the managers appreciate their crew cause if it wasnt for them I would neevr come bavk. I think also there was named zyn that was very helpful

Nadat de kamer tot tweemaal toe niet netjes was en dit ook bevestigd werd door de receptie en de manager, kregen we een mooie upgrade . Dit maakte de slechte start van ons verblijf meer dan goed. De locatie, het mooie strand, de hele setting.

De kamers zijn toe aan een opfrissing, de manager bevestigde ook dat ze dit aan het aanpakken waren. Prijs/kwaliteit komt niet volledig overeen. Het restaurant was goed, maar het ontbijt was minder…

We had a wonderful stay in beachfront bungalow 214. The entire resort is absolutely beautiful. Everything is very well maintained and spotless. The location of the breakfast restaurant is stunning, with an amazing view. The breakfast was also excellent. This resort is truly a 10/10. We will definitely come back soon and would like to thank the whole team for this wonderful stay. Special thanks to Dave. When we checked out, we told him that we would definitely come back, and he said we can mention it during the booking if we would like a specific room again. Really very kind and lovely — all the staff were amazing.

Our lodge was an older one and it didn’t feel like 5 star accommodation at all. We also found the limited shuttles frustrating and a later shuttle so we could go out for tea and then return would have been useful

החוף מושלם והמלון יפה ויזואלית

תחזוקה גרועה לא הייתי במקום כזה בחיים גם לא בהוסטלים הכי מגעילים לא היה דוחה כמו פה. התחלנו בבקתה שהיו בפנים שממיות כל הזמן ותולעי עץ במקלחת. אחר כך עברנו לחדר רגיל שהיה בו ריח של ביוב, עובש, רטיבות בקירות, מקלחת וכיור מזעזעים ומטפטפים. האוכל לא טעים ובגלל שהמלון מבודד אין אפשרות לצאת לאכול בחוץ והם יקרים בכוונה בגלל זה. הבריכות נראות יפות מבחוץ אבל שנכנסים הכל ירוקת. פשוט גרוע וכל מי שממליץ שקרן.

Stayed in a hideaway villa for 12 nights and my partner and I were very happy with the resort. It was very well kept and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. The villa was comfortable and the AC worked. There were two lovely pools to choose from and great snorkelling off the beach. There was a large choice of food and everything we had was good, although it was pricier than eating in the town. There were 3 free daily shuttles into town (pier or Sairee beach) or taxi was 400 baht.

Établissement propre et au milieu de la végétation. Notre bungalow était sur la colline sur pilotis. Superbe. Piscine incroyable face à l’océan. Petit déj frais et de saison en buffet. Fruits frais. Le snorkeling juste en face et des petits requins… superbe

Le terrain est grand et il y a de la place pour un fitness. C’est un bémol… je trouve… et le resto n’était pas top! Franchement le lieu est superbe mais il faut engager un cuisiner thaïlandais! Nous y serions rester tout les soirs… ;-) Dans les chambres, il manque des crochets pour les linges, serviettes etc.

Haadtien Beach Resort is an incredible place to stay. The staff are very friendly, especially the F&B team with excellent service. The resort offers many activities that guests can join with additional charges, including private snorkeling boat trips, scuba diving, yoga classes, and Thai cooking classes. Guests can also use kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkeling masks. The shuttle bus to town three times a day is also very convenient. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Koh Tao!

We really enjoyed our stay at these resort. The service is excellent and the staff pay attention to every details. The resort was clean and sorrounded by a beautiful nature. Breakfast was deliciouse with many options to choose from. Thank you to the whole team.. i will definitely come back and recommended to my friends.

Breakfast was over crowded, definitely not enough space in the buffet area and food was average. Wine selection was awful considering the price. Our hut was in desperate need of renovation. Landscaping was poor with the pool area by the beach feeling more like a golf course. There definitely could be more diversity in the planting, very bland. I saw no evidence of the hotel helping to rejuvenate all of the dead coral in the bay... it would be nice to hear they are doing to something, considering they are making money out of the area with snorkel hire and day trippers. Also, I appreciate this isn't the hotel's fault, but I have never seen so many people taking photos of themselves... If you don't want to be surrounded by 'influencers' I would avoid this hotel. The level of vanity was incredible!

He’s a fantastic waiter and a pro at the bar. His friendliness and dedication really enhanced our experience. Don't miss out on grabbing a drink from him at the bar if you visit. Highly recommended

I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing this resort was. After reading so many positive reviews, I had high expectations, but the beauty and cleanliness of the resort still exceeded them. The surroundings were stunning, the facilities were spotless, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. The staff were also friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. I highly recommend this resort and will definitely return on my next trip

The food and cocktails were excellent, fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced for the location. The music created a chilled beach vibe without being too loud, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. Whether you’re looking for a place to unwind during the day or enjoy drinks with friends at night, this beach club is definitely worth visiting while in Koh Tao. I’d happily come back again! Special shoutout to Hatay - he was so friendly and welcoming.
