The breakfast is excellent and the restaurant service staff are excellent.

From the moment we arrived, we were completely blown away by W Koh Samui. The resort is absolutely breathtaking – honestly, even more beautiful in real life than in the photos. The views, the villas, the beach, the pool and the entire atmosphere are stunning. It is one of those places that immediately makes you stop and say “wow.” But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the amazing team. From the reception staff to the hotel management, everyone was exceptional. They were warm, professional, helpful and genuinely caring. Every request was handled quickly and efficiently, and whenever we needed assistance – even with personal matters that had nothing to do with the hotel itself – they went above and beyond to help us. We travelled with our two young children, and the way the staff treated them was something we will always remember. Everyone gave them so much attention, kindness and love. They made the children feel comfortable and happy, and made all of us feel completely at home. There is a huge difference between receiving good service and feeling that people genuinely care about you, and at W Koh Samui we felt that throughout our entire stay. The hotel itself is spectacular, but the people are what make this place truly special. It is even more beautiful than the photos, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is something you really have to experience. We genuinely did not want to leave and would come back without hesitation.

We had an absolutely amazing holiday at the W Koh Samui! From the moment we stepped foot on the property, the staff made us feel super welcome. A special shout-out to Nancy, who went above and beyond to arrange an early check-in for us. Being able to settle in early allowed us to start enjoying the hotel from the very first minute we arrived—a gesture we truly appreciated. The accommodations were exceptional. Traveling with two kids can often feel cramped, but our room was incredibly spacious with plenty of room for all four of us. The views were breathtaking, overlooking the lush jungle stretching out to the sparkling ocean. It was super quiet, offering a high level of privacy that made it feel like our own exclusive retreat. Every single team member we interacted with was extremely friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our entire stay.

There were only two minor downsides worth noting: -Beach Privacy: External visitors were somehow able to access the hotel beach, occupying sun benches and beach facilities intended for guests. Management might want to better secure access to the beach area so paying guests can fully enjoy the facilities. -Dining Variety & Availability: The resort only has two main restaurants—The Kitchen Table and the Japanese restaurant down by the beach for dinner. Since the hotel isn't within comfortable walking distance to outside dining options, choices feel a bit limited. The Japanese restaurant is quite small and gets fully booked very easily, so make sure to reserve your tables well in advance! Despite these small drawbacks, the warmth of the staff and the sheer beauty of the resort made our family trip unforgettable. We would gladly return!

The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The breakfast was incredible. Before coming we read a review saying you always feel your are alone in the resort and this matched our experience. We had a private pool and directly on the beach which made out stay just amazing. We wanted a special stay to end our 7 week trip in Thailand and we weren't disappointed!

The kids club is horrible. Our 4yo was desperate to meet other kids and do some activities there but was extremely disappointed. The lady doesn't care at all, she watches Tiktok videos or whatever on her phone and doesn't interact at all. All the kids just come the first time, see the situation and never come again. We tried twice and was always the same. We spoke with other families and had the same experience.

Quiet and beautiful wow-effect hotel with its own beach with bar and chill music. Big villa with pool. Cleaned multiple times a day. Amazing views and amazing breakfast. Everything was to the highest standard.

Little variety and not the best options in the complimentary sweet spots

Beach, Breakfast & Pool all were amazing. I want to specially recognise few people that were CERTAINLY memorable. First Ms. Mo the manager, Mr. Ruben, Mr. Patrick at reception, Mr. Kong maintenance, Chef Raghav for the wonderful Indian food, Mr. Peter Buggy ride, Mr. Pablo at the bar, Ms. Bee the chef, and many others for making the stay more memorable.

Only one night my AC didn't work but Mr. Kong came to rescue and fixed the ac as quickly as he can.

They nail the ‘little things’, water always delivered to the room and included. Gym classes and amenities all included.

Our stay at the W Hotel was the best experience of our entire trip to Thailand, during which we stayed at around 8 different hotels over roughly 30 days. Everything there is at the highest possible level. From the moment you enter the hotel, you get that true “wow effect” — with what feels like the most incredible pool in the world! A breathtaking view and a stunning, beautifully designed pool. The breakfast at the hotel is at the highest level we have ever seen. Everything is perfect — from the freshly squeezed juices to the excellent omelets. The kitchen staff — especially BEE, who is in charge of the kitchen — made us feel completely at home. Just like the slogan says, “Whatever/Whenever.” BEE truly made that slogan come to life. Since my wife doesn’t eat breakfast early, BEE made sure every single day that her meal was sent to our room so she could enjoy it at 11 or 12, whenever she was ready to eat. The pool area is quiet and peaceful, with a spectacular view. The beach is simply exceptional and different from other beaches — everything feels impressive, well-designed, and spacious. The fact that the property is so large and yet has only 70 rooms explains why you constantly feel a sense of space and privacy. There is always room to breathe, and you never feel crowded. The rooms are wonderfully sized, and the private pools are huge. We spent at least a quarter of each day there with the kids. In principle, the hotel does not claim to be fully child-oriented. However, the food menu is amazing, the nightly fire shows are spectacular, and the sweet treats around the hotel absolutely do the job. If we had to rate the hotel out of 100, we would give it at least 110! A big thank you to TON, the photographer, who captured moments that will stay with us forever; to BEE, the kitchen manager, for taking care of us like family; and to all the wonderful drivers — Tony and the whole team — who made every buggy ride pleasant and positive.

Fire show on the Saturday night, the surroundings, the comfort and the space for the outside garden/private pool.

Definitely not up to the standards that the W would want. Short staffed in all areas and felt somewhat rundown compared to the 4 hotels we’d stayed in prior, and absolutely nowhere near the standards and service level you receive from W Bangkok. The cost was £800 per night!! Frightening money! And absolutely NOWHERE near that level of cost is justified. I stay in all the W’s and this one was the MOST expensive, by far, but my expectations were nowhere near met for the cost. Breakfast was nice? 💁🏼‍♀️

The water in the toilet was a little yellowish but the hotel sent someone to fix it as soon as we reported it

Our Villa Location was Excellent, Overlooking the Seaside. The Staff were Excellent, always ready to serve, regardless of how small our request was. The Breakfast Buffet was Amazing with lots & lots to Eat & Drink. The Candlelight Dinner at the Japanese restaurant NAMU exceeded expectations in both food quality and service. We requested a Late Checkout at 2 pm, and the Hotel Staff willingly obliged.

The only Service that fell short of our Expectations was at the AwaySpa. It was Okay overall, but we had a lot more expectations for the massage we received. We are Spa Owners ourselves, and we really dig for a Good Massage wherever we go. We have to state that there was No Value for Money for the Massage received. We experienced a great many Massages outside the Hotel for a fraction of the Price. You need to train or hire your Masseuse Crew to improve your Spa Services. Personally, I would never repeat myself at the AwaySpa.

First of all, best service I got ever in every hotel I went to. The breakfast was beyond amazing. The beach and all the facilities were great. The fact that the buggies were always available, and the staff helped with any issue that we raised.

Staff we generally friendly.

Paid a hefty amount per night for the room , the room had a continuous drainage smell which the staff tried to fix but it reoccurred.

The staff are extraordinary at this W property, the stay wouldnt have been the same.without them.

The W Koh Samui is nowhere near a real 5-star hotel. Service is basically non-existent, management is poor, and the facilities do not match the price they charge. On the beach, there is no one to assist you: no staff to hand out towels, no one taking food or drink orders, nothing resembling proper luxury service. Breakfast is chaotic — far too few tables for the number of guests, and most mornings we couldn’t even find a place to sit. The same issue happens at the pool: it is very small with a ridiculous number of sunbeds compared to the number of rooms. With two children, we often ended up without a single sunbed available. Activities are also poorly handled: we wanted to rent a kayak, but only one was working while all the others were broken. We tried to book a table at the Japanese restaurant inside the resort and they couldn’t even accommodate us, another sign of bad organization. Overall, the service is terrible, far from what you expect from a 5-star property. The only positive note is the girl at reception, who was helpful and genuinely kind. Apart from her, the entire place feels more like a mediocre 4-star at best. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a true luxury experience — it simply doesn’t deliver.

Excellent location - on a quiet sandy beach but not too far from main local attractions and restaurants (5-7 min by taxi) Outstanding breakfast - best croissants ever, lots of fresh fruits, cold coconuts in a fridge, already opened and ready to drink, delicious oriental fusion choices from a menu, BEST cappuccino ever (seriously). Great idea to communicate with a hospitality service by WhatApp - much more convenient that dialing "0" to explain your immediate need. Instead you can send a text from anywhere and get things done. A perfect stay - many thanks to the stuff, you are incredible!

Expectations exceeded - want to come again!

Out of this world, really, everything was at the highest level: the food, the service, the beach and whatnot. Exceptional!

Top notch service as always with W hotels. The facility is beautiful, super comfortable and upscale vibe. Very chill, as reflective of koh samui.

The staff make the hotel. Nothing is ever too much trouble. All so friendly, helpful and thoughtful. The Woo Bar has a great relaxing vibe, with wonderful views out to the sea. The nightly fireshow in the bar is worth a watch. The Saturday night BBQ on the beach is great. Breakfast, a great selection of food. Highly recommend the hotel.

Everything about it is just perfect

W’s airport transfer sent us to a wrong hotel which wasted 45min of our valuable time. Then we both got food poisoning at Nomu restaurant. We ended spent entire vacation in our room. This is a big disappointment as we looked forward to this Wedding Anniversary celebration. W Samui got a lot of work to do regarding the basic stuff like food and beverage and services.

We booked this hotel for my wife's birthday, we paid thousands of dollars in advance (~8K $), a week before our holiday we had a tragedy in our family ( my brother in law had passed away from a sudden illness ). I cancelled my vacation and ask the hotel to consider the family tragedy and refund my vacation or at least reschedule it. ooh ,they used very polite language but bluntly refused to give me any of my money back. So they might be a Fancey hotel but with zero compassion and all their fancy language is a façade to their greed.

Location. Rooms are old and dark.

The compound from the entrance, to the trees surounding the huts, and finally to the beach is beautiful. The hotel itself has the most stylish design I've ever seen. The rooms are large, romantic, organized and have a free coffee machine. It is well designed and immaculately clean. The staff are charming - each and every one, and respond like lightning when you need them. They were even willing to give us a room 3 hours before the check in time simply beacause "they are ready". They are beyond a doubt the hotel's strongest point. The receptionist "Cookie" who recieved us was especially caring. The hotel's beach was wonderful, sunny and secluded with free kayaks to borrow. The Bars were open at good times and the food at breakfast and dinner was a rich array of dishes to serve any pallete. I recommend it a thousand times over.

The small gripe is that the hotel compound was so large one needs the bucky-cars to ride him around; Sometimes it's great fun, sometimes it's a hassle. But the bigger gripe is the awful laundry service: It costs a fortune which we paid in no other hotel in thailand, it had extra hidden payments in the form of VAT which wasn't written upfront, and it was slow to boot. It is a disgusting blemish on a otherwise perfect painting of a Koh Samui hotel.

Beautiful setting

Intermittent service, no answer from concierge/front desk sometimes meaning you are stuck in your room without a buggie for more than 40 mins - this happened a couple of times. We were high up on a steep hill so walking was not always an option especially at night. Layout of the property needs to be explained upon arrival thoroughly as it’s quite confusing. Service at the beach bar was also intermittent - sometimes things didn’t arrive and other times starters came at the same time as mains after a long wait.

Everything
