Convenient, spacious and comfy beds. Very clean and staff were helpful. Restaurant had lovely food. Our ‘go to’ when staying in Nelson

The beds were comfy and the kitchen had a large fridge/freezer and a cook top

Staff were disinterested in welcoming us at check in, no smiles, no welcoming words. Didn't ask after our stay when we checked out. We booked the room because it had a cook top as we were there for 3 nights. There was a sign saying if you set the fire alarm off there would be a $300 reset fee. There was no rangehood or ventilator over the oven if we wanted to cook. There was a smoke detector right above the cooktop so any heat or steam would have set it off. There was however a window we could open, but we could only open about 5cm as it hit a pole outside. So we didn't cook. Very disappointing as it was the reason we paid extra for the larger room so we could have the separate kitchen and cook. We could hear the person in the room next door, through the wall snoring very loudly all night. The shower was a complicated set up that required the hotel to blu-tac instructions on how to use it. The shower was over a bath. The shower curtain came just to the top of the bath so the bathroom floor was flooded each time a shower was had. The third day there the water in the shower was either freezing or boiling so we didn't shower.

Clean and comfy, staff assisted us well.

Our stay was excellent. We were a sports group of 13 staying across five rooms, and the hotel was perfect for our needs. The rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped, with full kitchens which made things so much easier for our group. The facilities were exactly what we needed, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Despite there being several other large groups staying at the hotel, it was surprisingly quiet, which was fantastic after busy days at our tournament. The location was also excellent, with everything we needed within close proximity. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would happily return. Highly recommended for groups.

After reading some terrible reviews, I was a bit concerned.... But, pleasantly surprised! Lovely room. Everything you need. After obviously being renovated... double glazed very quite. Very impressed !!

No Channel 2 on the TV. Toilet brush handle was broken.

Unit was upstairs. Made a mistake not requesting for a ground floor unit for our elderly family members. Should've request a walk-in shower too as getting in and out of the bathtub shower can be dangerous for seniors.

Being upstairs and no lift , so for elderly people this can be difficult This could be advertised better. We know now to request a downstairs studio.

The service. I pre paid for the room. and then had to pay a extra $200 on arrival. I couldnt afford to pay this yet I still had to otherwise I had no where to stay with my son. When I paid i used a visa debt as I didnt have a credit card.... all this time and I still havent gotten the money back? They told me its my banks issue..... THIS ISNT GOOD ENOUGH! Also the room was not nice at all. It didnt look like the pictures it was very dated. NO Parking outside the room at all for a large suv.

I really liked my room. So much space, and the bed...... the bed was so comfortable. More comfortable than my own bed at home. The blankets and pillows were just amazing. I haven't had a good nights sleep in a very long time, and during my 2 nights stay, I can whole heartedly say that I had the best sleep in a very long time.

The only thing I didn't like, but that's just because my suitcase was heavy and I had alot of luggage and that was that my room was upstairs and there was no elevator for me. But it's not a biggy ;-)

Although we were in the older section, the room was really well appointed with convenient parking outside. Not too far to get anywhere in Nelson by car and close to the hospital if needed. Very warm for winter and comfortable.

Unfortunately window latch was broken so couldn't be closed so room was extremely cold and drafty and we had a young baby who was meant to be having a hospital admission early in morning which was the reason we stayed but unfortunately she developed a cough overnight so procedure had to be cancelled. It was a late evening check in so couldn't speak with staff and there was a barbed wire fence so we were unable to push the window closed from the outside. The hotel itself has good facilities and room was clean and had no issues on a previous stay.

Excellent accomodation, my Nelson choice of stays. Great friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds and clean spacious rooms. Very good on site restaurant and bar.

Bed was comfortable. Room was cleaned everyday on request. Kitchen was a perfect size for us.

Flames on 40 Restaurant and Bar was awesome! It was so good we dined there 2 nights of our stay. The food, the staff and ambience were fantastic!!

The rooms although tidy enough, were poorly maintained. The shower didn’t work properly. There were pretty good sized scuff marks/scratches on the paintwork in the room, particularly in the bathroom. I think what bothered us most was the paper thin walls. We could hear the person in the next room quite clearly. My daughter in law charged her phone in their room and when we got back from our day out, her phone charger was missing. We all looked in the van we were travelling in, our rooms, their suitcases and we couldn’t find it. She has been told by the Hotel that they aren’t prepared to do anything about it. It’s going to cost her $80 to replace it. Pretty disappointed Hotel Nelson.

The place needs a really really good clean. Carpet stained. Couch also so horribly stained that no one wanted to sit on it. Black mould throughout the bathroom. No milk.

Hotel location very central, parked car right outside our room. Room was cleaned every day and towels changed daily. My partner had an issue with the duvet not being inside an inner cover, but other than that everything was very good. Internet cover was not that great in the part of the hotel we were at. Just as an FYI, the Bond put on Hold when arriving at hotel takes 3 days to be reversed back into your Debit account.
