Very handy location

Great value for money! We stayed at Admirals Motor Inn in Nelson for 2 nights. The place is a bit old, but very clean and well looked after. The location is convenient — a 5–10 minute walk to the city centre. The staff are cheerful and friendly, really pleasant to deal with. The room has a small kitchen with a stove and pots — very handy. The blanket on the bed is a bit thin, but there’s an extra one in the wardrobe. There are several ways to stay warm: a heat pump, a wall heater, and electric blankets on the beds. We were there in winter and never felt cold. The TV is connected to the internet. Overall we were very happy. It’s inexpensive and has everything you need. Highly recommend!

Cosy, comfy and great staff

We had a lovely stay here. Everything was great, and the room was very clean and comfortable. We arrived quite late, and the staff kindly turned on the heating for us beforehand. When we entered the room, it was warm and cosy, which was especially nice on a cold night. We really appreciated the thoughtful service. Highly recommended!

Location was great. Customer service was fantastic. Room was very tidy and spacious.

Friendly, helpful host. Walking distance to town centre. Nicely redecorated rooms and comfy beds.

Friendly staff. They were extremely welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. Value for money.

Wonderful hosts; friendly with great communication and attention to detail. The room was spacious, clean & cosy and had everything I needed for my stay. Perfect location, close to the town centre.

nice and private

Very nice stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Had a great sleep as the bed was fantastic! Within walking distance (10 minutes) to shops, restaurant's/eateries. We had a wonderful greeting and farewell from the owner/operator - very welcoming and full of great information for the region. Many thanks

The host was super friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, like a home away from home.

We found this a busy motel so it may be that you will need to park on the road. The motel is quite old and at first glance the room we had could have used updating. Very dated painting. However, the Shower was relatively new and clean. So was the vanity unit. Carpet looked quite worn but it was, as far as we could tell, clean. Our room was upstairs and there is no lift. The room was quite quiet.

The bedrooms are quite small, and I needed to walk sideways around the queen-sized bed. The TV was quite small.

Great location, clean and comfortable rooms.

Very welcoming and hands on host Fraser who is especially helpful with orientating guests to the town & district including sound recommendations. Handy location even though on a busy road. Everything about the room was excellent including size, cleanliness, facilities.

If I had to nitpick … it would be useful to have more Sky channels and/or access to Netflix (using own home account).

Fraser, the chap who manages the motel is a super-friendly, welcoming person who puts a capital H in 'Hospitality'. He made our stay definitely above the average. 10/10 and 5 stars!

Very comfortable suite with small kitchen with microwave, plates, cups etc. Tidy bathroom with good shower and separated toilet. Plenty of room. Very clean and nicely decorated. Host was friendly and helpful. Warm with good heating and electric blankets. This was great because the nights were cold . Surprisingly quiet. We will happily return.

We had no issues with the property

Staff super friendly and very clean and comfortable.

Noisy main road

The room was large and very comfortable. The couple who own the place couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. I will stay there every time I am back in Nelson!

People were great - friendly and helpful. It was a much needed comfortable sleep after a very long flight. Return visits are guaranteed.

Quiet, close to town. Lovely staff

Room was very large and had everything we needed, including a kitchenette. The lighting in the room was fantastic you could actually read a book anywhere in it! Easy parking too. Short stroll to all the restaurants and bars

Nothing it was very good and would definitely stay there again when back in Nelson

Very comfortable room with small kitchen.

2-bedroom apartment, Toilet was separated from shower, onsite coin laundry machine + dryer, especially shower was clean, water got hot very quickly, and drained well.

Wonderful hotel and ideal location, close and walking distance to the centre of Nelson, for cafes and restaurants. Although close, it’s a quiet location. Joseph, the host was wonderful at checkin - allocated us a ground floor apartment, showed us to the room and parking area and also gave a very detailed tourist guide to Nelson. The room was fabulous, great size, seperate lounge and very comfortable for our one night stay, but would be ideal for longer stays. If ever back in Nelson, would definitely stay in this motel. Superb!

There is a very bright light shining in the carpark, which illuminates inside the room all night. Had to shut the bedroom door in the apartment so we could sleep without it appearing to be daytime. Nobody at reception when we checked out to inquire about the reason for the huge light on all night.

Very spacious room, clean and comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, given the close proximity to a main road. Very comfortable bed.

Fantastic place to stay, short walk to the city center. The accomodation was so clean and tidy! Really impressive.

Spotless bedroom, kitchen, bathroom - what a treat after days spent walking. The owners were very friendly and helpful as well, as were the cleaning staff. The communal areas were also very clean and the washing facilities were great.

Nothing not to like.

The studio apartment is clean and comfortable, plus kids' room at the attic made it perfect stay for family of 5. 15 minutes walks to the city centre and Fraser the owner is very helpful and friendly. He provides information on how to explore Nelson City and Abel Tasman . Overall, we are very happy with the 3 nights stay in Admiral.

A very friendly and helpful host. A clean, warm and comfortable unit. Great to have laundry facilities available. Close to city centre and quick access to locations in the area. An enjoyable stay.

Very handy location to the city. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and generously upgraded my room. Wonderful views across the park, exceptionally clean and well appointed facilities. I’ll be back another time.

Nothing not to like.

Location and views over the field for a relaxing afternoon in.

Clean and tidy

Shower was terrible - little more than a dribble. Very dated decor and kitchen.

- Good location not too far from town - Welcoming staff - Large & clean room

A great location to walk to and around Nelson. It was quiet, comfortable with on site parking. Would happily stay again.

We always are made welcome and feel its a home away from home. Everything is clean and tidy, the rooms are spacious and its so close to Nelson.

Great sized room with everything you need and walking distance to town.

Lovely, friendly owners. Great to have a separate bedroom, good kitchenette and guest laundry.

Nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom and no hair conditioner.

The owner was exceptionally friendly and went out of his way to be helpful. The property is within an easy walking distance of town.

All good

Very peaceful and quiet

Good location, short walk into town, on sight parking

Our room backed onto a busy road & the traffic was quite noisy at night

Bon emplacement.

Very helpful and welcoming. Given a better room than we booked looking out over the park.

Heel vriendelijk ontvangst, mooie kamer en lekker bed.

Alles beviel goed.

Lovely host, exceptionally clean unit, spacious bathroom, green outlook, very comfortable bed, convenient location

Lovely spacious apartment close to city centre. Spotlessly clean. Room was serviced daily. Great managers and staff who couldn’t do enough to assist. Good value for money.

We had a room facing the road so traffic noise was a little disturbing first thing in the morning but not a problem during most of the night. Best to choose a side room if possible.

I had a very pleasant stay! Muchas gracias!

Well equipped, super clean, walking distance to town and helpful staff
