Loved the spa in the room. Customer service was great and receptionist was very knowledgeable.

The tv should be mounted on the wall as the bed is higher.

I stay in motels on average one per week. This is by far the best I have come across between Gisborne and Wellington.

Highly recommend the Mexican restaurant onsite. Such a cute atmosphere and such delicious food. Appreciate motel workers went out of their way to call and asked to move us to a room that was better for our family that had a bigger courtyard and more space. Place was clean and cozy.

Water pressure in the shower was a bit weak as was the efficacy of the mixer for hot/cold

Being close to the highway you can hear the vehicles.

Friendly staff but disappointed that multiple attempts to get toilet fixed and required us to use rubbish bin to flush 😭 no offer of discount or room change. We had limited time due to sport times but it appeared no oe was really concerned, except occupants. Easy walk to beach and spacious unit. Bathroom exceptionally disappointing

Ocean beach is always my go to when I want to stay somewhere. Warm, comfy and the spa bath is amazing! Love winding down after a big week with a spa.

Its my 4th stay and wev never been disappointed with the spa studio. Comfy clean bed, love that the spa is close by too.

Had a really pleasant stay at Ocean Beach Motel! The location is fantastic—just steps away from the beach, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. The beach itself was beautiful, clean, and perfect for spending quality time outdoors. My son absolutely loved it—he had so much fun playing outside and enjoying the open space. It was great to see him so happy and engaged

The two bed room unit was very spacious and the kitchen was sufficiently equipped with dishes and cooking equipment. Coin-op washers and a dryer are available for $2NZD each, and although not ensuite, it was conveniently enough located around the building. There is an attached restaurant, which we did not have a chance to dine at. And it is a block away from Wainui beach, which is great for long walks and I make up swimming in the warmer months. The hostess was very pleasant and accommodating

The toilet was not operating properly, e.g. the tank was VERY slow to refill. We asked for a bucket from reception so that we could fill it with water from the shower, which we then used to fill the toilet tank. They did call a plumber however the problem was not resolved during our stay. It would also be great if the unit had a dishwasher, which ours didn't.

Spacious apartment with great kitchen. Close to beach. Nice bathroom and comfortable beds and couch. Lots of storage and outdoor area. Kaiti shops pretty handy. Very close to the cycleway into Gisborne.

The location was brilliant, a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Near an amazing cafe serving healthy options, muffins and the best coffee. An adjacent mexican serving the best margaritas.🍹 And finally, the accommodation was great, had everything we needed and more, staff were so lovely too, super helpful and made you feel very welcome. I would highly recommend staying here and We will definitely be coming back.

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we stepped into Reception. The room was so comfortable - loads of space and our own private courtyard which was perfect for a cup of tea or glass of wine. The location is fantastic being so close to the amazing beach and it was a lovely touch that we were offered beach towels. Had a relaxing drink in the Mexican Restaurant - lovely, friendly service.

A lovely host, a restaurant on site, a little cafe across the road with a wonderful vibe. Greenspace behind the units, good off street parking make it a great place close to town, but not right in town.

A little road noise is to be expected being close to the main road in, but that's it.

Apartment was very large with separate bedroom. Exceptionally clean. Caro, manager, was wonderful. Friendly but never intrusive. Walked to the beach and great coffee at Zephyr across the road from the Lodge.

Location was great (so close to beach), hotel staff friendly and our room was lovely, spacious also. The Mexican restaurant on site was an added bonus and the food 10 out of 10.

Only one tiny thing. We were just a bit wary of the external privacy louvre that appeared to be able to be opened from the outside re. people looking in through the window.

This is second time staying. Lady at reception is amazing. Comfortable and clean room. Spa is a bonus 👌 thank you once again will see you again shortly.

Alles war einfach super! Die Lage der Unterkunft ist perfekt, sehr zentral und ideal, um die Umgebung zu erkunden. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig, sauber und hervorragend ausgestattet – es hat wirklich an nichts gefehlt. Das Personal war großartig: extrem hilfsbereit, herzlich und mega freundlich, man hat sich sofort willkommen gefühlt. Das Restaurant in der Unterkunft ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen – leckeres Essen in einem richtig schönen Ambiente. Ein zusätzliches Highlight: Direkt gegenüber gibt es einen Kaffee, der mega lecker ist ☕️ Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Absolute Empfehlung!

It felt like a home away from home — so cozy, clean and comfortable. The staff are amazing, especially Caroline, the manager. She made sure we had everything we needed for our Christmas BBQ and was just so accommodating and welcoming. The cleaning crew were also amazing and friendly. Then there’s the beach! Beautiful Wainui beach is a two minute walk away.

Great location beside the beach. Big and bright rooms, very comfortable and love the Neighbourhood Catina on site.

To kick this off the staff - beautiful. The little touches of using fresh flowers was a lovely touch.

Shower did not drain, black mold under shower door rail and tiles. Bathroom smells of mold. Range slider requires adjustment as does not slide freely . Bed side lamp faulty. Water pressure erratic .

Loved the shuttered french doors opening to a private terrace. Close to lovely surfie beach Wainui, at times challenging to swim in with rip on the day. Helpful friendly staff.

De ligging ca. 5 min lopen van het strand. Mooi zandstrand van 5 km lang en rustig. Mooie ruime kamer met terras uitlopend in een grote tuin.

Perfect space for a small family holiday. Wonderdul helpful staff. Very comfortable and friendly.

Needed a dish rack and large fruit/ salad bowl and one or two floor cleaning cloths or mop in case of spillage.

Our room was spaceious, the beds were comfortable and the linen crisp and clean and it was a cold night when we arrived and it did not take long for the heating worked fantasticaly.
