Low ceilings, stuffy room

We were met by a very friendly welcome. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. And our hosts were very responsive to our needs.

Nice conservatory room

noisy doors, toilet fans are very loud. Very Expensive. Messy management, books 3 double rooms, but got 2 doubles 1 single. Breakfast served mouldy bread twice.

Comfortable bed. Flexible about arrival time. Parking. Spotless bathroom. Cotton dressing gown provided.

Bathroom and toilet down the corridor. It was fine- just a bit inconvenient in middle of night.

Room and house were beautiful Gary was welcoming and couldnt do enough for us short walk into the town centre and free parking

Just a leg stretch from the station

No effective ventilation or fan on room ( I was on top floor where all the heat had collected) so was a tad warm to say the least- but better than been cold and draughty- a champagne problem you might say!

Great location for my visit and a very attentive host. Room was comfortable and the shared bathroom was big and bright and never a problem to use. Breakfast was called a light breakfast of tea/coffee cereal and toast with some fresh juice and fruit. Sufficient parking at the property or on the road.

Breakfast was very good. Nice house and Gary was very helpful. Was very good that we could store our cycles securely indoors. Good location with a 15 minute walk into town.

Wished I'd spent more on a room. The twin room was a little too small for two and of course lacked an ensuite bathroom/toilet.

Off road parking could be a problem if the place was busier. Nothing else was a problem

Nice staff

The accommodation was clean and warm. Lots of hot water. Good quality clean towels. The bedding was very clean. Gary was very pleasant and helpful and introduced me to another guest when I arrived.

The trap in the shower is probably somewhat blocked, I had to keep turning off the shower to allow the water to drain out of the shower tray. The bedding although clean was very well worn and rather thin, there were rather tired looking unnecessary cushions on the bed. The pillows were not good quality and not supportive. There was a damp patch inside the window bay and a very large damp area on the wall in the breakfast area. There are birds in the kitchen area which are sweat but not hygienic. The breakfast area comprises of one huge table which allows for many guests to eat together but there is no option for people who wish to eat alone. Not everyone likes to eat with others and be forced into early morning conversation with strangers.

The breakfast was delicious and staff were nice. The beds were comfy and I loved seeing their pet birds and dogs in the morning.

We had an issue where the door wouldn't lock and it seems that they've had problems with that room before. We were assured that it was safe but, we weren't comfortable staying in the room. It took about half an hour but eventually, they said we could go in a different room for the duration of our stay. Wasn't super impressed with the new room or the bathroom as there was mould in both (quite a lot above the shower). And the room had some cobwebs. But grateful we didn't have to find alternative accommodation!

A lovely B&B, with hosts whose hospitality made it feel like staying with friends. Gary is a wonderful host. The room was cozy and pretty, clean and very functional, including the tiny attached bathroom. The breakfast setup and the food was excellent and I had wonderful conversations with co-guests.

The mattress was a bit saggy, the desk chair could have been cleaner and the bathroom was miniscule.

Nice room, Gary is a friendly guy and choice between simple breakfast in-house or whatever you want at Walnut Grove restaurant (run by Gary’s wife Nicola - who is a lovely woman) is great.

Basic breakfast selection is kindly included at no extra cost. Quiet location. Comfy beds. Kindly given a double room even though I only needed a single as a double room was unoccupied during my time of stay. All in all, a very pleasant stay with a lovely host.

The room was very comfortable and bed comfy with soft sheets. Check in and out easy, friendly host.

Breakfast was fine but I would have preferred small tables rather than one large one, and the breakfast options were a little limited. The room was clean but furniture a little tired/worn.

There was nothing to complain about.

I originally booked this property 4 months ahead of time. I was led to believe our room would be in the house as most B & B's are. A month after booking the room I got a message from Bay Tree that our room wasnt available do to over booking. The proprietor said he would furnish an annex room in back of the property that was usually reserved for Air B N b business. My wife and I were not happy with that but, as time goes bye it gets harder to find a place to reserve for a stay so, we agreed to the annex room as long as we had full access to the breakfast dining area. We arrived in the late afternoon after a 10 hour flight where I phoned the property owner. He asked for an approximate time of arrival which I gave him. Then he said he wouldnt be there and to me to check front door for message that said Allison would come bye at 4 pm to let us in room. She was late of course.. Then I said how do we get our bags from the car to the room?. She said bring the through the house to the back yard. First problem. There was no pavement to pull our bags over, it was 18" cement pads spaced out with gravel between them. Not good. Then Allison opened door to room and told us we couldnt go back through house to our car. Why? because the yapping dogs the owner had were going to be turned loose in the house. I said how do I get to the car? We had to walk on the paving pads through the rear properties to the next block over. Then walk all around the block for our car. NO WAY JOSE!!! We Left

I had a single room with a very comfortable bed and slept very well. The breakfast was ideal for me and I was offered a cooked breakfast too. Gary was extremely helpful and made life a lot easier for me.I loved the atmosphere of Bay Tree House and would happily stay there again.

Gary's hosting skills were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble.Having breakfast with the other guests was very pleasant.If you need somewhere to stay in Dorchester I would highly recommend it

Bay Tree is in a quiet location and easy walking distance to Dorchester town. Gary, our host, was excellent, very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was relaxed in a lovely room aroind a table of about 8 settings, perfect to have a morning chat with fellow guests. Nice to chat and get to know new people from different places. The rooms are tastefully furnished and well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities. Good shower ensuite. Very comfy bed, excellent night's sleep. Quiet house.

Lovely clean room with all facilities. Not en-suite but the bathroom opposite was large and luxurious. Good choice for breakfast in a lovely sunny room. Very welcoming.

No parking at the property, but not a big problem as it was easy to park on surrounding streets

Excellant communication prior to stay. Comfortable room with ensuite, tea, coffee and water supplies. Additional use of fan over night was good. Good breakfast.

The room was not cleaned for a while! Spiders everywhere. The bed sheet not clean, yellow marks everywhere. Horrible

Nice and clean - a good stay. The hosts were really great when I arrived quite late at night due to a missed train, and were really helpful in making sure I could get right into my room easily. I really appreciated their helpfulness and easy communication. There are a number of pets about the house including dogs, who make a bit of noise in the evening and early morning, but not too bad. I would be quite happy to stay here again.

The toilet had blue splodge on it I am not sure where it was didn't come off with wiping it off. Apart from that it was a lovely room
