From the Welcoming to the the Goodbye...everyone was pleasant and wanted us to have an awesome time. This place is a Gem...definately visiting them again. The dinner was superb, their recommendations were spot on and the Ribs were a hit...I must say Top Class experience ... And Thanks Jonathan for being that classy Host. What an excellent hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts and a very good place for dinner; comfy beds; wonderful rooms; excellent bathrooms. If you’re getting on a lot, the stairs in the main hotel might be resting but they have lots of other rooms.

The room was in excellent condition, shower great and the little touches - welcome note, sherry, and bath setup (salts, etc) was nice touches. Breakfast and dinner was fantastic, would recommend the bao buns and then also the yellowtail if on offer for dinner.

No dislikes, everything was excellent.

The facilities were good. The interior was beautifully renovated.

Centrally located. Friendly staff. Beautiful facilities.

Parking area is across the street on open piece of land without any cover for vehicles from the sun. Made it difficult to handle and get lugguage to and from the hotel. Construction was on at the hotel during our stay with construction noise during the day without prior warning of this when the booking was made.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was just perfect, with two fireplaces, lovely sitting area, beautiful bathroom and a lovely garden view. The staff and food were also excellent.

The staff were all particularly friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and we loved the little touches like the fact that they lit the fire, turned down our beds and put hot water bottles in the beds while we were at supper. The suite that we had was very spacious, with lots of little extras like sherry, nougat, dried fruit, Nespresso machine and bubble bath/bath salts and fluffy gowns in the bathroom

We struggled to get the water hot enough for a bath in the evening, but think it was just because the geysers were set on a timer which needed to be changed - so not a big issue.

Staff very helpful and friendly and food was enjoyable.

Location good We arrived at 1am after flight delays and very heavy storms, which knocked out electricity in the region. Staff checked that we were en route from early and we're there to welcome us Our room was upgraded . They had backup generators . The next day while the storm raged, theirs was the only restaurant that was functional in the town. The staff could tell us which roads were impassable, since the internet was mostly also down. Very friendly and efficient.

We had an amazing stay. The staff were friendly and professional and the hotel is cozy and beautiful. Our room was clean, was just perfect for us and the bed was so comfortable. The sherry and dried fruit was a nice welcome gift and was appreciated. The restaurant was cozy and the breakfast was delicious. Breakfast was included, we had cuppacino, a full breakfast and an orange juice and we did not have to pay extra for it. So overall very happy and impressed. Will definitely visit again!

Breakfast was a lovely comprehensive buffet but unfortunately completely abused by an American tourist who loaded up on take-away long before breakfast was finished. Loved all the Art Deco touches. Bar was great and bar-staff very friendly.

We regularly choose this Hotel on our trips to South Africa. Besides the professional and personal staff, many of them longtime for many years, you dive into this heritage atmosphere which winds you down to this tranquility state of mind. Rooms with antique furniture, courtyards and houses typical for Kirk Street feeling. Combine this with a lively sports bar when games are shown live, and a breakfast to die for. Good security, safe carpark for hotel guests.

Overall very good. The hot water bottles in the bed at night a warm touch. A pity the one bottle leaked.

It would be a suggestion to check the batteries of the remote controls for the television as ours did not work.

A beautifully converted historic building providing a very spacious and well appointed accommodation. Also, a great little courtyard space with plunge pool.

Staff were efficient very friendly and helpful. Security is good. Appreciated finding tourist pamphlets and maps for local attractions, wine farms etc at reception. Menu is limited but the food was very good. The Tulbach has lots of old-world character.

I didn't like the shower being a part of the actual bedroom. The lighting is a not very good and there is nowhere to sit in the room other than on the bed. The room was a bit cramped.

This is a lovely hotel - right in the centre of town, meaning a gentle stroll to see the sights. The terrace has a gorgeous views looking across to the distant mountains, and the selection on the menu is very comprehensive. The pool in the rear courtyard has a lawn next which attracts the sun most of the day. Parking is well catered for as there is a secure space across from the hotel. I stayed there for two nights and can highly recommend the hotel. The staff were extremely courteous and friendly!!

The staff is really friendly. The room was great and a very respectable size/value for money (pillows were also amazing). Location is very central.

Lovely colonial style experience with very friendly staff in an excellent location. There is actually nothing lot to like.

I liked everything, which probably isn't a very helpful answer, but I did. I suppose if I had to find something I didn't like it would be it's slightly too expensive.

We loved the decor and the friendly staff. The restaurant is excellent. The room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The fireplace was a highlight.

The boom for the parking area did not work. The street is very busy and safety is a concern. The parking is not on the premises instead you need to walk down this very busy street to your car in a separate parking area away from the hotel.

We stayed in a room opposite the hotel. It is well located, withing walking distance of everything. Comfortable bath room.

The bedroom was dark and the lights were difficult to work, not always working and did not provide enough light. Very frustrating. Our room was right on the street, so we mostly had to keep the curtains drawn. Tulbach is a very expensive town. We chose the cheapest option - perhaps other rooms are better.

Centrally located, and the auxiliary buildings across the street are in the most beautiful setting you can think of. Staff is very nice too.

Our room was large, well appointed and comfortable, with a large, modern en-suite bathroom. Faultless and highly recommended!

The rodents in the ceiling above our room meant that we did not sleep at all from their movements all night.

Initially we were shown a room across the road from the main hotel. I said that I was unhappy with this as we would have to cross the main street every time to access the hotel facility’s. They then moved us to the main hotel.

To get to the shower was a bit low.

The problem we had was that the room given to us was not as depicted on the website. They transferred us to bigger room which was better but still not the same as depicted on the website. There was very little clothes hanging space. I feel that the price we paid was in line with what was depicted on the website but overpriced for what we actually got.

Perfect location for exploring the town on foot and easy access to other restaurants

Hotellet består av 2 deler- vi bodde rett ved et basseng og rommene der er ordinære. Uteområdet ved bassenget bør oppgraderes . I den gamle historiske delen er det langt høyere status og bedre uteområde med vakker beplantning mm. . Vi ba om å bytte rom men det gikk ikke dessverre.

Exceptional staff who are always eager to assist. The room was flawless—truly impeccable—and I honestly couldn’t find a single fault. I will definitely be returning for an extended stay in the near future. Without a doubt, this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and I travel frequently.
