Fanari Khaolak Resort - Courtyard Zone

Wir waren schon 7 Jahre davor hier. Seitdem hat sich doch einiges geändert. Das Hotel ist grundsätzlich ruhig. Diesmal jedoch waren Gäste da, die keine Rücksicht auf andere nahmen. Wir mussten leider das Personal einschalten und um Rücksicht bitten. Einige Tage waren Personen im Pool die nicht zum Hotel gehörten. Das ist nicht in Ordnung. Warum dürfen fremde Personen (vermutlich Freunde oder Familie von einem Gast) ins Hotel?? Frühstück haben wir nicht gebucht, da es vor 7 Jahren schon sehr karg war. Kaffee (im Sackerl) haben wir erst nach Rückfrage bekommen. Dann auch nur mehr 2stk am Tag. Früher konnten wir uns mehr Kaffee am Tag machen. Die Zimmer sind eher abgenutzt. Preisleistung ist hier nicht mehr gerechtfertigt. Da bekommt man was schöneres für das Geld. Die Dusche ist sehr sehr abgenutzt. Kein Platz für Utensilien wenn man zu dritt oder sogar zu viert dort ist. Das Bett wird zwar jeden Tag gemacht , aber nach einer Woche wäre ein Tausch der Wäsche angebracht. (Wir waren 17 Tage dort...) Die Terrassentür lässt sich sehr schwer schließen. Das Pool hatte ihre gute Zeit auch schon lange hinter sich. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht sich. Achtet jedoch nicht wirklich auf fremde Personen. Unser Zimmernachbar aus Deutschland hat ein lautes Organ und hat seine neue thailändische Familie im Hotel zu Besuch(keine zahlende Gäste!!). Nicht in Ordnung. Für ein oder zwei Tage für durchreisende ist das Hotel nutzbar. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt eher woanders buchen

Lovely pools but the main pool totally surrounded by rooms. Bungalow rooms are tired. No coffee making goodies but they did bring me the bare minimum when I asked. Towels and sheets threadbare. Cheap plastic bottles of water supplied. Restaurant hit or miss. Good location I guess. Within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and the market The staff were very helpful when asked. Would I stay here again? Probably not. The whole area is overrun with package deal families from Europe and very very overpriced

Slidt hotel. Lugtede forfærdeligt på badeværelset af kloak under hele opholdet. Meget skimmelsvamp i brusekabinen. Forfærdelig hård seng og puder. Aircon virker delvist. Pool stor og ren. Billig minibar og normal rengøring ok. Dog var der gamle møl pubber hængende i loftet, som rengøring åbenbart aldrig gad fjerne. Mange myg på hele området.

We did a 6 week stay mid Jan until mid February , and as always we had a great stay ! For the price you pay , you CANNOT go wrong with this hotel . It offers large rooms, ok they are a bit 'dated' with the Thai style dark brown mahogany furniture, but they are very clean , there is great air con , a decent shower, your towels and sheets daily without being asked and there is an amazing breakfast offerred , with THE freshest eggs you could wish for ! There are 2 pools , sunbeds , these arent particularly ' luxurious' , but , again , you are not paying luxurious prices. Staff are wonderful in the hotel , they do whatever they can to help you , especially Bowie ! If you find the Thai style beds too firm , they happily provide a mattress topper , which transforms the beds ! Around you there are loads of bars , restaurants , shops , massage places. It really is perfect , and AMAZING value .... Thanks again to all the team at Fanari , see you next year !

This place could be lovely unfortunately it isn’t it’s dated quite dirty & the pool is un inviting with 3 old umbrellas & old sunbeds the bungalow beds are uncomfortable springs poking out & balcony was never swept even though we asked. Breakfast was amazing in a lovely dining room across the road

Dejligt ophold i bungalow og adgang til en hyggelig, idyllisk pool omkranset af bungalows. Hjælpsomt, imødekommende og altid venligt personale. Beliggende i fin afstand til marked, restauranter og barer i byen og tæt ved havet, men ligger i dejlig roligt område. Vi kan varmt anbefale stedet og det er vort 2. besøg

In a very short distance to the bungalows at pool side was a trainings center for Thai boxing which created an unimaginable noise which needs to wear ear protection headphones. This undisputable for a hotel which such high claim to quality and holiday resort and there is no single notice in the hotel description in internet. This are important circumstances for selection of a hotel resort to make relaxing holidays. This is a point for disqualification!!!

My family and I was at this property 5 years ago and we love it so much so we decided to comeback. However, this property was in such poor conditions, so much that we decided to move to the new resort. Very dirty, stain on the sheet, AC was not cold, no food on the property. On Expedia website about this property was listed that they have all the amenities but for surcharges which we Plato use. They don’t have food, transportation, spa or anything that is listed. The person that chua in said “we have nothing but the room for you. This is LOW SEASON” We have reservation from July 8th to July 14th. We left this property on July 10th due to all of the above listed. They used to viewing spot that you can see the water. Not any more. They closed up that part and you will have to walk about 10-15 minute the near by beach with is next to Ramada resort. I contacted Expedia customer service chat line and told them about all of this but they said no refund. This will be the last time I will use this site due to lack of transparency. They allow this hotel to give faults information and would not take any responsibility. I wish Fanari resort the best of luck and hope they make it in this industry.

We have just returned from a 37 night stay at this lovely hotel ! We were warmly welcomed back as repeat guests . Our room , was large , 2 enormous beds , a big balcony overlooking the pool , an adequate shower room , tv , fridge , great air con , free safe , wifi was pretty good, it did have a few 'slow ' moments on occasion ! Our room was very comfortable , quiet , and cleaned daily , with sheets and towels changed daily without us needing to ask for them to be so ! The hotel only offers bed and breakfast as such , the breakfasts are excellent, cereals , fresh fruits ( some days more exotic than others ! ) , juices , a variety of salads , croissants , toast , jam, honey , the usual hot stuff , an egg station , with THE freshest eggs you can imagine , bacon , sausages, some days baked beans , tomatoes , potatoes etc , plus , my FAVOURITE , a daily Thai curry , and these were , BEYOND delicious !!!! There are 2 pools , one on the main building side , the other by the bungalows . Personally , we prefer the main building , but the bungalows are also lovely , surrounded by lots of vegetation . The staff here are wonderful , very friendly , and helpful . Nothing is too much trouble at all . Surrounding the hotel is a host of bars , restaurants , massage places , and 2 beaches within walking distance. There is a place to hire scooters right opposite the hotel . and if you so wish , self service washing machines , which was great for us being on a long stay ! The hotel has a loyal following , its very popular with German and Scandinavian guests , everyone is very friendly , and it makes for a very nice atmosphere ! A great hotel that i RECOMMEND HIGHLY !

Dejligt mindre hotel med en god beliggenhed. Tæt på havet og 10 min til restauranter, marked og liv. Venligt og hjælpsom personale. 2 pools og altid en plads ledig ved poolen. Lidt slidt badeværelse, men til at leve med. Alt i alt et godt udgangspunkt for et besøg i Khao Lak.

I was pleasantly surprised with the resort given the high end choices in the area. My room was spacious and the swimming pool is fabulous. It’s not directly on the beach but close enough. I had no issues with the WiFi. I’m not a huge buffet breakfast person but it was good and the breakfast room staff was super helpful and friendly. I would stay here again.

Hotel sympa, belle piscine mais un peu profonde pour les moins de 1,60. Toutes les chambres ont vu sur la piscine. Les plages à proximité peu praticables car plus de sable mais des rochers. Les chambres sont grandes. Il y a de temps en temps des petits lézards. Le petit dej est complet. On peux commander à manger de 11h30 jusqu’à 16h30 au bord de la piscine, c’est top. Bon rapport qualité prix.

Frühstück könnte mehr Auswahl an Brot und Brötchen haben. Ansatz war an wenigen Tagen zu erkennen. Restliches Buffet war OK mit wechselnder Auswahl.

This is a lovely resort. Nice and quite not far from bars and restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area very nice clean and lots of loungers. Breakfast tasty something different offered every day. Room clean and spacious bed comfy shower nice warm water. We have enjoyed our visit here and highly recommend.

Wondeful quiet place, a little aways from khao lak, like 20km so be prepared for an 700baht taxi ride. Staff was fantastic and restaurant was great. Beautiful rooms and environment.

Wow , what a find ! Have to admit , for price we paid ,our expectations weren’t that high ! How wrong were we ! Great room , ok not the most ‘ up to date ‘ but was big , great air con , huge bed , good shower , nice balcony , fresh sheets , towels and pool towels daily , Wi-Fi was good . Breakfast , what a great choice , yoghurt , fresh fruits , cereals , pastries , fresh egg station , with beautiful fresh eggs , bacon , sausages , a curry featured every morning ( delicious ) good coffee , only slight downside , the fruit juices , more like squash and very sweet . 2 nice pools , one on the bungalow side , this has plenty of shade , should you want . A 5 min stroll to a nice beach , 2 sunbeds and umbrella , 200thb Short walk from Fanari you have an abundance of bars , restaurants and massage places and the night market ! Staff at the hotel are lovely , very friendly , anything you ask , they try and oblige . Value for money at its best ! Well done Fanari ! And see you next year we hope !

24 hours after booking online… had to cancel due to change in work commitments, hotel refused to refund payment.. poor customer relations. Would not recommend this hotel to deal with as customers deserve to be treated better after Covid ..

Har boet her X flere altid følt mig velkommen og ja stedet trænger til en lille kær hånd men atmosfære gør man kan overse det, ville gerne have fået besked før om at restaurant ikke var åben, personalet hjælper gerne med take-away hvis behov for men savnede den dejlige morgenmad. Personalet var det samme som jeg altid mødt og de genkende mig, lidt som at “komme hjem”! Vender gerne tilbage men i høj sæsons 😀

Nice hotel close to beach. Easy to park car and walk to Main Street. Bungalow by pool was nice. You can easily order food to be served at the pool. Good wi-fi.

Located a short walk to the coastline but where hotels have been allowed to develop their properties over the beach. You can only get past these properties at low tide. All beaches in Thailand are public so I was disappointed to find this development was allowed to occur. My room was on the second floor (first being ground) overlooking the large pool area. It had 2 double beds, storage space, fairly quiet aircon and cable TV with some channels in english. The bed had clean linens with the standard firm mattress. Lighting was adequate. The bathroom had a segregated shower with good water and pressure. I did have to ask for toilet paper. Most of the poolside rooms were vacant but I'm not one to 'beg' for upgrades. I'm happy with what I pay for. Don't expect the restaurant to be open or any live music or dance performances as stated on Booking.com. There is a minimart opposite and a few restaurants are open nearby. Overall, I had a comfortable stay here.

Nem szóltak a renitens (iszákos, éjfélkor ordítozó, ajtókat csapkodó, vagy éppen éjjel 10-kor medencébe ugráló gyerekek) vendégeknek semmiért. Ráadásul a hotel úgy volt meghirdetve, hogy gyerekvendéget nem fogad, ehhez képest sok volt a gyerek, akikre viszont a szüleik sem szóltak rá. Csak kerülővel lehet lejutni a tengerpartra, ami viszont időnként igencsak hagy kívánnivalót maga után... A reggeli választék szegényes, piperecikkekből csak egy elég fura szagú sampon és tusfürdő van (elhiszem, hogy fontos a mindkét nemnek való megfelelőség, de inkább rossz szagú volt, mint semleges), valamint zuhanysapka és fülpiszka. Kézmosó szappan nincs, azt venni kellett. A meghirdetett papucs gumipapucs, ami hiába is fertőtlenítik, nem higiénikus. A takarítás csak amolyan "ahol a papok is táncolnak" módszerrel történt, sok helyen ott voltak a bakatollak (pl.szék lábára ragadva). A hotelhez tartozó étterem nagyon drága, ellenben minőségen aluli.

For a 3 star resort Fanari provides everything you need, with quiet, comfortable and clean rooms and facilities. On request we were upgraded to a seafront room, which is more a self contained unit than a room, overlooking the ocean. Easy access to jump in the sea at high tide or walk down the beach at low tide. The bathrooms are a bit tired, with a totally useless shower head in the bath (they’d be better to get rid of the bath and make it a bigger shower area you can properly stand in to wash). The beds are big, we had two queens so had great sleep. Small but clean pool, sunbeds needed cleaning, but the surroundings were very tidy. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast included in the room. Ideal for couples or families, great shallow pool for the little ones. The seafront hotel is located near the end of the road, and we found ample places to eat, drink, relax and get massages on the beach.

The property is located next to a beautiful beach and is in a quiet area. The breakfast was excellent and the staff all very helpful. The downside is that the rooms (we had one of the bungalows) were in need of renovation as everything was a bit old and several items not functioning too well. The gardens were poorly maintained. The hotel is just OK.

There was a waitor talk behide me and he had attendtion to do that since he knew that I can speak Thai. In breakfast's time he stood next to me and tried to speak very lound with other waitresses that I have spent 2 hours in breakfast (actually I didn't have 2 hours or even I did , it's the customer's right to have breakfast anyway). So I ignored him. But he didn't stop and keep bothering again. For the second time, he try to speak loundly again (almost like yelling) when i sat on the table that "Others customer had breakfast and gone already but I still keep having breakfast and so on." ( There are still many customers having breakfast. And breakfst time was still not time up.) I don't understand why I paid full of money for the hotel but still got blame like I am eating for free? It's breakfast time. I was having breakfast during a breakfast time that the hotel provided, didn't break any rules or bother others, stay in my own area but why he have to bother me? This staff/waitor shouldn't have destroied others relaxed atmosphere and learning how to have a good manner + service mind. I went there and prefer to relaxed not getting bother like this.

A quiet and lovely resort. Close to the beach and fabulous pool area. Towels are provided. The shower was not the most powerful and breakfast was average. The room was cleaned daily and there was a lovely spacious balcony.

We were happy with our stay here. Good location within walking distance to restaurants on the beach as well as in the town space. Make are you visit Bang Niang markets if you stay here - these are also walking distance. We had a pool access room in the Courtyard - clean and tidy. Bathrooms a bit old but neat and no issues. Fridge in room. Restaurant was nice for breakfast. There’s a massage place on site which is the same price as everywhere else and pretty good. Overall quite happy

Vi boede i en bungalow her var et mindre pool område, som vi foretrak, frem for poolen ved hovedbygningen. Der er masser af restauranter og butikker i området. Alt i alt et Ok hotel til prisen.

Positives: We stayed at Fanari Courtyard and our experience was very good. The pool area is very nice and the location of the hotel is close to the beach and also in walking distance of the town. We enjoyed the breakfast, a lot to choose from. The staff was very nice and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Negatives: The bathrooms are quite old, and the rooms smells a bit old. The Wifi is not the greatest but works okish. However as mentioned we would stay here again.

Det eneste der er at sige dårligt om dette sted er at man absolut ikke kan bruge håndklæderne til noget som helst...de er lavet af noget så man ikke kan tørre sig. Ellers kan vi sagtens anbefale dette sted.

For the price is was excellent value. The bungalows were more than adequate. It is a 3 star, but staff and accommodation could not be faulted.

Trevlig miljö, helt okej pool. Bara 2 min promenad ner till den fina stranden. Sängarna var hemska, hårda där fjädrarna kändes ! Bra frukost ska tilläggas.

Alle freundlich und nett waren immer bemüht, ob beim Frühstück... Hatten ein Baby dabei, haben ihn uns abgenommen so dass man Frühstück holen konnte. Waren Anfang Mai Ende der Saison Frühstück dann etwas reduziert , waren auch nicht viel Gäste dort hat Vor - und Nachteile....Also 11 Tage waren definitiv zu lange.

The room was great! But i have to admit we had the most expensive one! Pool ok. Stuff: unfriendly, most of them could not speak english at all!!! They are not helpful. Breakfast: okay but not fresh - mouldy toast! NO BEACH WITH ACCESS TO THE SEA!

Leider sehr runtergewohnt. Starker modriger Geruch bei uns im Bubgalow. Bad viel zu dunkel. Kleiner strand fussläufig erreichbar. Großer, schöner strand eher mit roller zu erreichen. Frühstück okay.

Bra frukost, trevlig och vänlig personal. Väldigt fint område kring Bungalows. Det dåliga var att det ligger massa hotel närmare stranden som har reserverade områden där man inte får vara. Det gjorde att man behöver gå en bra bit för att antingen komma till deras område eller till den stora stranden(ca800m). Men med tanke på priset så var det helt klart värt det.

Mycket prisvärt hotell. Bra läge. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Rent och snyggt. Ovanligt bekväma sängar för att vara Thailand. Frukosten okej men skulle behöva mer pålägg

A Typical class 3 Hotel with very professional staff.They could benefit of making that last effort to be the class 4 they should be. Lacking maddreses and parasols for the seaside sunbeds is not a good thing.

We stayed in a bungalow, our deck overlooking the courtyard pool. It was spacious and the bathroom had lots of room for us. It was just a short walk to the restaurant and the breakfasts were great. We could access the beach from the beachside complex which was just down and across the road. Lots of restaurants in the area and we especially took advantage of the beachfront ones. It is an easy walk to downtown and the market. Staff were terrific. A great place to stay.

Stedet var rigtig fint, og lå rimelig godt i forhold til lokalområdet. Møblerne på hotellet var dog ret ukomfortable; sengen var hård og stolene på terrassen var direkte ubehagelige at sidde i.

Looked better on the web than in real life. Mosquitoes were rampant and got bitten while checking in. 2 small pools and a restaurant are the facilities but close to the beach led to a Rocky outcrop only. Room was ok or satisfactory for a 3 star hotel.

Absolutely recommendable. Stayed here for 10 nights with my family. Friendly staff and very helpful. Booked all our tours from here as well to a good price. Lovely breakfast. Excellent pools. Tranquil and a cosy place to hang out.

Mukava palvelu, lähellä rantoja ja ravintoloita. Huoneet uusia ja siistejä. Rauhallinen paikka. Olimme neljässä eri huoneessa. Yksi bungalovi haisi homeelle, siinä ei voinut nukkua, joten kannattaa tsekata huone ennen sinne menemistä.

Sehr schönes Hotel, gemütlich und nicht zu groß. Toller Pool, ist nicht nur großzügig fotografiert, sondern wirklich groß! Personal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend, großes Frühstücksbüffet und prima Lage zu Strand und Ort. Wir würden jederzeit gern wiederkommen!

Weather was good in the main, hotel is nicely appointed in a quite area, a short stroll from the beech and night life. Rooms are spacious for price bracket and clean. The two pools are well maintained.

Dies war mein zweiter Aufenthalt innerhalb von zwei Monaten im Fanari Courtyard. Es war wieder eine superschöne, erholsame Zeit. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team!

Ich war mit meiner Tochter Ende August für 10 Tage in diesem Resort zu Gast. Wir haben eine sehr schöne erholsame Zeit dort verbracht und werde im Oktober nochmals für 10 Tage dort sein. Das Resort unterteilt sich in Hotelgebäude und im hinteren Teil mit Bungalows. Wir haben einen Bungalow bewohnt,.

Khao Lak est un peu calme en juillet. Tous les commerces ne sont pas ouverts. Peu de clients présents, emlpoyés très serviables et gentils. Très propre. Attention pas d'accès direct à la plage.

Sehr gutes Hotel. Hatten ein Bungerlow, würde jeder Zeit wieder dort hingehen.

Det finns 2 Fanari på gatan vi uppgraderade till Fanari sea front några 100 tal meter norr ut på gatan. (Den första var lite murrigare och jungelaktigt aldeles för mörkt för oss). Vi fick egna hus med egen strand och solstolar. Solnedgång aldeles för oss själva. Lite folk på hotellet var till vår fördel. Bra service trevlig personal. Fanari Sea front ett toppendtälle som rekomenderas.

Das Hotel war rundum in Ordnung, das Frühstück super, schöne Pools. Das Problem war eher dass es uns in Khaolak nicht besonders gefallen hat. Hat nichts thailändisches da, das Flair unterscheidet sich kaum von einem türkischen Badeort. Lieber wieder weiter runter auf die Inseln! Der Strand des Khuek Khak Beach ist allerdings traumhaft. Ausflüge in den Khao Sok oder Schnorcheltouren sind empfehlenswert, aber hart verhandeln bei den Preisen!.

Hotel grounds were nice - garden like. Rooms are a bit tired. Neat and tidy, friendly, accommodating, staff, easy check in, but nothing really to write home about. No complaints. Solid 3 star hotel. I'd recommend to friends depending on their travel style. Good room for the price.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Clean room with comfortable beds. Variety of 2 clean swimming pools. Excellent breakfast with great selection of food, honestly priced. I recommend to rent a motorbike to explore the beaches around.

Large room king sized bed with large balcony. Located away from dining hall and opposite smaller pool. Beautiful tropical plants and pool large enough to swim lengths. Bad points not really any hot water to speak of. Toilet system very basic indeed. Humidity suana like. But the thing that was the worst by far mossies and other bugs. With bug spray made no odds. Food choice in hotel limited and breakfast very basic. Hotel had no other entertainment so if you want a pool and book in beautiful setting go for it.

Staff were always helpful. 24 hour checkin is perfect. Pretty poolside setting. Clean white bedding. Included buffet breakfast a great start to the day.

Great Breakfast. Spacious Bungalows. (a little dark) Nice grounds. On site spa was good and well priced. Several nice pools. Very nice staff!

We had a nice stay. The only thing they need to improve is the bathroom condition as it stinks and the towels smelled like it didn't went into washing. The hotel location and facilities are good.

As we arrived the room stinks was no fun but the friendly and helpful staff fix it so it was a good time, the WiFi is useless but i am not there for that we had a some nice days an maybe we go there again.

Unknowingly booked for courtyard bungalow across from main hotel. On arrival the room stank of damp so much so we only spent 10minutes in the room before I had to get outside for fresh air. We asked at reception to be moved and they showed us another bungalow that smelt just as bad. We ended up paying 400thb extra per night to stay in a poolside room which still smelt like damp but was much, much better and cleaner. The beach is lovely and the surrounding area really is friendly with lots of good restaurants. We had a couple of meals at Thai Life down the road which was really great, try out their schnitzel. We can recommend Pinocchio's which is an Italian, slightly more expensive but worth the money and they did a great job catering to our requirements. There is a great bar run by an English hippie on the main road called Mars Bar (onto main Street and turn right, look for the yellow smiley face sign) he is a super nice guy and does proper English grub and PG tips tea if you're missing a good cuppa! All in all, really enjoyed our stay and the room was good but ended up expensive.

The main photo of the pool area used on the Expedia website is quite flattering. Also, if you're looking to laze by the pool in the sun all day be mindful that it's quite well-shaded and only captures a few hours of direct sunlight. The rooms are spacious and clean with firm mattresses. No signs of insect infestation. Decent shower pressure. The location is ok, just a couple of minutes from the beach. All-in-all, it's a clean, safe mid-range hotel.

Our room had a bad odour when we arrived so we changed room. The roof in the new room leaked one night during some heavy rain. We could hear big drops of water hitting the ceiling. I wondered how long it would be before the ceiling collapsed. There weren't enough sun beds around the pools and other guests would place towels on them really early. Breakfast was great.
