Le petit déjeuner, la qualité et le confort de la literie, ainsi que cette agréable odeur emblématique que l’on retrouve avec plaisir à chaque fois que l’on pousse la porte d’un hôtel Renaissance. Une véritable signature qui contribue à rendre l’expérience toujours aussi agréable !

Pour un hôtel de cette gamme, nous avons été un peu surpris de constater que peu de membres du personnel parlaient anglais, ce qui pouvait parfois compliquer les échanges. Par ailleurs, en comparaison avec notre séjour il y a 7 ans, nous avons regretté que le bar ne propose plus les délicieux cocktails que nous avions tant appréciés à l’époque. C’est dommage, car cela faisait partie des petits détails qui contribuaient à rendre l’expérience particulièrement agréable.

I just checked in last night for a 9 nights stay at the Renaissance Shanghai Putuo Hotel, and as a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite member booking directly, the check-in experience was cold and deeply frustrating. The front desk receptionist was completely emotionless and didn't even bother with a basic "welcome" or "thank you for your loyalty." Instead, immediately after pulling up my reservation, her very first statement was a blunt summary: "You've booked 9 nights with us without breakfast, and you are our Gold member." She then added that if I wanted breakfast, I should just buy it on Dianping or get it from the front desk because it's cheaper than paying the restaurant directly. It was a completely transactional and robotic interaction that set a terrible first impression. ​There was zero attempt to recognize my status or explain any member benefits. Rather than professionally apologizing that a room upgrade wasn't available due to high occupancy, the receptionist randomly informed me that the swimming pool was out of service due to an issue. I had to explicitly ask about a Gold Elite upgrade myself, to which she simply replied that it was based on availability and high occupancy made it impossible. When I asked about the possibility of an upgrade for the remaining nights of my stay, her dismissive response was just to "check back later at the front desk," casually adding that all room sizes are the same anyway and the room types only differ by high vs. low floor. It immediately made me wonder why they bother charging a price premium for higher floors if they view them as fundamentally identical—especially since they assigned me to Room 510 on the 5th floor, the second lowest guest floor in a tower of 21 stories tall. ​Leaving the front desk disappointed, we went up to our room. Upon entering, there was a flower bouquet wrapped in plastic sitting there. When I asked the bell attendant who it was for, he assumed it wasn't mine and took it away, only to return later claiming it actually was for me. I then realised that there was a card hidden in the arrangement and my friend has send me the welcome flower. After putting down our bags, we went straight out for dinner, and when we returned, a welcome box of cookies had been placed on the writing desk. If Room 510 was pre-assigned to me well in advance, why weren't the welcome amenities in the room before I checked in? Or is this just a generic item given to every checking-in guest, meaning there is genuinely zero privilege to being a Gold member here? ​This entire arrival was an absolute disappointment. As an elite member committing to a long 9-night stay, I feel completely unvalued as a loyal customer. I still have the rest of my stay ahead of me and will certainly be updating this review as things progress, but as of now, what a terrible way to start a trip.

Hotel cancelled my reservation, not myself and refund hasn't been processed. Stayed at this hotel several times, however, it seems like guests aren't welcome at this particular venue. Unless the refund has been processed, I won't rebook my room and stay somewhere else instead. Rather disappointing!

El hotel es muy bonito y tiene varias actividades para hacer como el gym, piscina y turco. Les solicitamos algunas cosas especificas como que tenian para un cumpleaños y nos dieron una torta deliciosa con una tarjeta y nos cumplieron todo el tiempo. El desayuno es increible: muy variado y el sitio es muy bonito. Esta en una zona muy bonita y tranquila.

Lo unico es que esta alejado de la parte turistica y de las estaciones de tren/aeropuerto pero tiene cerca estacion del metro y es facil coger transporte. Para ser un hotel de esta categoria falta que hablen mas ingles.

Отличный отель. Сделали ранний check in без каких-либо проблем. Уборка, замена полотенец-каждый день. Вода питьевая -всегда в наличии. Сделали сладкий комплимент от отеля моей маме на день рождения (мы даже не упоминали про это) Было очень приятно, особенно маме;)) забота отеля в мелочах. Завтраки хорошие, отличный кофе;)

Метро в 2-х шагах, маркет. Удобные номера, прекрасная мягкая кровать. В номере тихо, можно отлично выспаться. По территории ездит робот. Все достопримечательности близко.

Great location for work. Lovely room, comfortable and clean with all amenities. Excellent choice at breakfast. Convenient for subway stations.

Letto (materasso e cuscini) molto comodo, camera ben insonorizzata e ben oscurata. Ottimo avere la piscina (con area wellness nello spogliatoio).

二樓的品尊軒粵菜餐廳太棒啦！菜色多服務好，烤乳鴿更是一絕！建議全家享用！大堂櫃檯親切而且能幫忙處理旅遊日常需求。非常方便的地理位置，讓家人無論使用地鐵甚至打車都很方便。附近也都找得到當地特色小吃。推薦大家一定要來。

房內若有煙味可以請提早使用設備淨化處理。

Some staff dis not know any English. Pool is quite basic but sufficient.

The staff, room and service in general was that of a 5 star hotel. The lobby staff spoke English very well and helped us out multiple times.

The location is a little far away, but it's right next to a metro station, which makes it very easy to get around, just a longer commute time.

Fine værelse, tæt på metro, tæt på mad-center, og ellers rigtig fine faciliteter hele vejen rundt, pool, spa etc. Morgenmaden var god, både kinesisk og europæisk. Sødt personale, og rengøring/oprydning, frisk vand/håndklæder hver dag.

Der var meget koldt i receptionen, indgangshallen og der hvor man spiste morgenmad.

We liked everything about this hotel, the new furnishing, cleanliness,attention and everyday support of the staff . They have a good English speaking staff which is rare in China. Breakfast was really good, almost the same every day, but tasty and a lot of choices. The breakfast restaurant meets 5 star hotel standards. The location was great , 2 steps away from metro line 7. Whenever I asked the stuff about the directions I got help and detailed information which was really amazing. It’s 6 km away from downtown but taxi is affordable and you can reach the turist destinations by metro. We stayed from December 27 to January 5 ,2026 and enjoyed every day in this hotel. I surely recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay in Shanghai.

the neighbourhood is quiet and it’s very convenient as there is a train station with a few minutes walk. their staff is very friendly and helpful to offer me help since i have some problem with my DIDI app.

Overall experience was very good, hotel is located so close to metro line 7, there is a mall with my restaurants. Rooms was so big with a comfy bed and huge bathroom with separate shower and tub, no noise during the night. Breakfast was a good experience, with live cooking of chinese dishes, eggs station and freshly made fruit juices. Swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi are available and are well managed and clean. The cleaning of the rooms was very careful

Die Lage ist absolut top. Das Hotel hat zwar schon etwas Patina angelegt, dafür hat es einen originalen 20-Jahre-Charme. In dieser Preisklasse ist der Standard absolut ok. Das Frühstück sehr gut - auch aus europäischer Sicht.

An manchen Stellen könnte es eine Renovierung gut gebrauchen.

We couldn't find anything to fault with. It was a wonderful stay for us and look forward to staying there again when we return to Shanghai next.

We were here 6 months ago and I found things to be maintained as good as ever. The gym and aqua area is maintained by Steven, the best, most attentive guy when using the facilities like steam room, sauna etc. The food remains great and the whole staff is service with a smile! 10/30/2025 - The Renaissance Shanghai Putou deliveries the best Value for Money 性价比, especially for Marriott Elite members who can enjoy complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner at the BLD Cafe (restaurant) daily. The daily freshly squeezed juice 现榨饮料 at breakfast - four different kinds of drinks like Apple, Orange, Cucumber and Carrots is the BEST - you can't find any hotels in Shanghai to provide such kind of drinks daily. I also like the daily appetizers that are unique - some of them are very difficult to find in most restaurants in China. Believe it or not, the quality of its steam room (SPA) beats two high-end five-star Marriott Hotel Shanghai I stayed in 2024 and 2025, respectively - this is one of the reasons I like to stay at this hotel again and again. The DLB cafe staff are friendly or well trained, as are those at the check-in counter.

We gathered here for a big family reunion in October in the middle of Golden week with over a dozen plus rooms over the course of 2+ weeks. We traveled here from all over the world (USA, Switzerland, Australia and from throughout China). I travel extensively for business and really enjoyed my stay here. It has the sensibilities of a business hotel next to the thoughtfulness necessary for families traveling with the elderly AND the young. The services and facilities are excellent. Clean, modern and extremely professional staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful. I will miss the breakfast which fortified me for each day with a wonderful combination of both eastern and western breakfasts. There are also over half a dozen coffee shops right outside for your afternoon espresso. We also enjoyed our final meal in the private dining room on the 2nd floor. Excellent food and really professional service.

The perfect location, right next to the subway station and bit underground mall with dozens of restaurants to choose from. Nice and understanding staff, great interior and nice rooms.

The hotel was beautiful, also located in a beautiful area, the staff was so accommodative of us irrespective of the language barrier.

We struggled with some food that was available in the buffet. It was mostly Chinese food that was served, other choices for internationals were limited. We struggled with eating the food so we only had breakfast once in at the hotel the subsequent days we went to go eat elsewhere with my son.

Nous avons beaucoup aimé l'accueil, la piscine et la salle de sport compris dans le prix( avec prêt de bonnet de bain) La chambre était très belle et agréable. Le métro quasiment au pied de l'hôtel donc très pratique!

Everything from coffee shops to eateries and shopping are close by. The spa on site was fantastic! Great breakfast and the most important was the entire staff! The stay was amazing and can’t wait to go back!!
