The only issue was a fairly weak WiFi 'in the room'. Down in the lobby totally fine but any attempts to upload large files or work in that way was basically difficult 'up in the room'.
Clean room with all amenities needed for 1 night stay including fan and hairdryer. Very friendly and accommodating staff, great breakfast freshly cooked and well presented
Outstanding restaurant, incredibly friendly staff, with clean rooms. This was our second time here. We are so happy to get the Sunday roast!!
Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. Was a bit stuffy as hot even with window open. Shower was excellent and they had good products. Welcome was pleasant and clear information. 24 hour shop nearby. Excellent location to the Wrexham ground and pubs and bars. Breakfast was really good quality and very generous portions. Strongly recommend you include in your booking.
The Lemon Tree Hotel is set in a lovely building. I stayed in the upstairs room number five which had a comfortable double bed and a well appointed ensuite with shower. There was ample storage space for clothes. There was tea, coffee and bottled water in the room which was a nice touch. The room was very warm - perhaps a bit too warm if anything. There was a delightful view of someone's back yard too. I booked "room only" but elected to pay extra for breakfast. It should be noted that the breakfast was more of a "cafe style" arrangement. In other words, you are given a menu containing individually priced items. I had the full Welsh breakfast and a pot of tea. It was very good and served with a smile. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to Wrexham General Railway Station and about 15 minutes walk to The Racecourse Ground. Overall I had a very pleasant stay and would certainly return one day.
Lovely atmosphere super friendly staff, the cleanliness was good and exceeded in everything, fantastic breakfast worth paying for with price, would definitely recommend for a stop over and would come again, well done team x
All very good. Only point to note was we weren’t told that after 8:00pm the entry to the hotel was via a different door to the daytime. We thought the entry door was jammed until Purely by chance we saw another entry door.
Really nice hotel near the centre of Wrexham. Rooms are clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again
My wife and daughter with my wife’s 2 sisters have just had afternoon tea . The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful the food excellent perfect Sunday afternoon
This was our second time staying at the Lemon Tree hotel in Wrexham, Wales. As with our first visit, this visit was wonderful. The location is an easy walk from both the city center and the stok cae ras stadium where the team plays. The dining room is fantastic both in terms of the quality of food and menu choices. But what makes this place really shine and why we continue to stay here is the staff. Everyone was super friendly, helpful and professional. For those that may not travel to the UK often, keep in mind that room size is generally a bit smaller than what you typically get in the U.S., especially in non-chain hotels like this one. Having said that, personally the room sizes were fine both when my wife and I came and when I came on my own. So I had no issue - but just wanted to mention for anyone coming from the U.S. that has not stayed in a non-chain hotel in the UK. We really enjoy staying here and Gid willing we'll be back in the future.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay here. We were warmly welcomed. Service was excellent. The room was clean. The towels were large and cozy. Bed linens were nice. Breakfast was yummy. This hotel is situated 10 minutes from the train station and 15 minutes to the stadium and downtown. The only close restaurants are pizza and fast food but that wasn’t a problem. We picked up a pizza and had beer from the lounge. When we come back to Wrexham we will stay here again.
If you are heading to Wrexham you should definitely stay at the Lemon Tree! Wonderful accommodations, delicious food, and welcoming staff!
Little bit hard to see as it was dark but so pleased I booked here. Everything and more from the hotel
The hotel was nice and clean and very tidy. Bar closed 8:30pm and restaurant was closed when we got there at 6:30pm. Shame. Manager lovely and very helpful.
What a waste of money afternoon tea £19.50 per person two finger butty, small slice of sausage roll, a small piece of chocolate brownie, scone , small piece of Bakewell, totally waste of money !!! What a rip off. Very average and over priced !!!
The hotel is perfect location with excellent friendly service. The only disappointment was no evening meal as the standard of food is excellent and we missed this on our return visit. However, we will still return as restaurants nearby and perfect little hotel
The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Good location and parking on site.
Absolutely a great spot. Professional and friendly staff. Comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommend!
Had a really enjoyable 3 night stay at The Lemon Tree. All of the staff were polite, friendly and professional. Our room was a bit small but was clean, comfortable and looked to be recently decorated. The food at breakfast and the match day burger deal was all second to none. Freshly home cooked to an exceptionally high standard and really tasty. Would definitely eat there all the time when evening meals are back on. Would have no hesitation in recommending this place and will hopefully be able to stay again the next time Norwich play at Wrexham. (Ps thanks for the three Points!)
We visited from Canada to see our first pro football match in Wrexham. We would highly recommend a stay here - very nice boutique hotel, restaurant was amazing and staff were very welcoming - we will definitely be back - thank you to the team at the Lemon Tree for a memorable stay!
Returned here numerous times. The level of cleanliness and service never fails to impress. The rooms are decorated very tastefully and perfect for a weekend stay. The restaurant offers amazing food and never fails to impress. Great value. The front of house staff are amazing. Nothing too much trouble for them. Always greet you with a smile. It feels like coming home. Definitely the place to be. Enjoyed our family and friends Christmas get together and already planning our next visit. Thank you everyone Oh and not forgetting the cocktails. Excellent value.
Stayed one night on business in this comfortable hotel which has an excellent location in the centre of Wrexham. Good room, good night's sleep and ok shower. Breakfast was also quite good.
This Hotel was a great find. Food is amazing and great value. Staff go above and beyond to make your stay so pleasurable. Could not fault it.
The food was amazing and beautifully presented. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is decorated with great taste. It’s a lovely ambience. The hotel room however was adequate but a bit dated. Bed was comfortable.
We had a wonderful weekend break at The Lemon Tree. The staff were attentive and extremely welcoming and friendly, especially Matt. A big thank-you to the team, in particular Chef and the kitchen staff, who produced some amazing food!! We would definitely stay again, and strongly recommend this charming, independent hotel to everyone.
Lemon tree was very nice, room had everything we needed. Staff were very helpful and informative. Only down side was the fact we were there on a Wednesday when the restaurant is closed. Restaurant only open Thurs-Sun.
Hotel had everything we needed for our overnight stay, but would have stayed here longer if required. Room was clean and set up really nicely with small fridge and coffee machine.
Great service by Anuj and his team for breakfast on Saturday morning 29th Nov! Will surely come back to this hotel!!! Highly recommended!!!
Very clean and comfortable rooms - only a bit chilly in the bathroom with single pane windows and only a towel heater James on reception was super friendly & helpful I was in a van so parking was a bit tight Restaurant was closed otherwise we would have had dinner before going to the theatre so didn't sample the food
i would recommend this hotel the staff were so helpful. helped us with taxis and speedy check in. i would definitely stay again
The afternoon tea was very disappointing. The food was not fresh, only 2 sandwiches - egg and cheese. Considering previous review I expect a lot more it was not worth the almost £60 for 3 people. I do not recommend The Lemon Tree. The service was good - parking is not easy!
Great, convenient place to stay. We also had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The only small thing I'd change is some softer pillows but everything else was great.
We enjoyed a really lovely overnight stay in this fabulous, friendly hotel when we visited Wrexham to see a band. Normally I struggle to sleep in an unfamiliar bed but I had the best night’s sleep as it was so quiet. The breakfast the following morning was delicious. We both had a full English and it filled us up for the day. The hotel is in an excellent location for accessing the centre of Wrexham on foot. We were very impressed and will definitely return!
Enjoyed our stay but would liked to have soap on the sink. Well located close to train station and football ground.
We enjoyed a great night’s sleep in a super comfy bed in this lovely hotel. We had everything we needed for an overnight stay. It was warm and quiet, and ideally located. Breakfast the following morning was delicious; we will definitely be back!
Staff were extremely friendly and the location is great. Very nice breakfast and the portions were huge
This is simply a wonderful place to stay. Clean, well-run and in a beautiful historic building that looks like a Christmas tree when lit up at night. Sam the owner, Matt, James, Rafi, Harvey, Gosia all took great care of us. Did I mention the food? The restaurant is first class, as is the food. Be sure to take the afternoon tea, you won't be disappointed. We've had it at the Savoy in London, that was great, this was better (kudos to Bobby, the chef). Thank you to everyone at The Lemon Tree for a super week's stay.
I would recommend the Lemon Tree Hotel to anyone heading to Wrexham and looking for a nice place to stay.
Looking to break my journey from the excesses of motorways between North Yorkshire. I spotted this small restaurant with rooms. The perfect place to stay, either for my purposes or to explore the region. Helpful check in times of arrival 3pm (welcome after a tiring journey) and 11am departure (miss rush hour). The food was excellent. I dined on scallop linguine with a very pleasant glass of rosé. Breakfast options were good too. I chose the smashed avocado with poached eggs, which couldn't have been better. Beautifully cooked and presented. The only mild disappointment was in the coffee, which I would estimate to be from a machine, so not easy to remedy. Everything one needed in the room, including a fridge, and nice that there was hot chocolate and some little biscuits. I plan to return.
I had a fabulous night loved my room tea breakfast everything I’ll definitely stay again many thanks for letting me stay
I liked the proximity to the town centre, especially the bus station. I would have liked to have a full cooked English breakfast included in the price of staying.
On site parking. Simple timely check in. Well equipped comfortable room. Clean. Nothing too much trouble for the host. Just one complaint no hand soap in bathroom. Shampoo and shower gel provided in shower. Breakfast was amazing. Will definitely be back and will dine in the restaurant. Thank you.
Does what says on the tin
Nice and helpful staff, good location and great food!
Very clean room and in room facilities. Bar was well stocked. Lovely welcome when checking in. Close to town and amenities.
OK
This is an old property that doesn’t have an elevator for some rooms… the stairs were challenging.
Most awesome. One of our favorite places to stay. Rooms fantastic, meals amazing, staff exceptional.
Staff were very polite and helpful.
Room 4 was very tiered and in need of updating and modernisation. The TV was one of the smallest I’ve ever seen - a little bigger than my iPad :0) The mattress on the bed always in desperate need of changing.
The perfect hotel for those attending a Wrexham game for the first time. Good beds with safe walk home walk home after closing The Turf. Which is important as Wrexham has a real taxi/ride/parking problem. The Lemon Tree also has a superb staff who are great hosts to all their guests. James especially, was one of the most attentive and present receptionists I've ever seen at a hotel, and he was waitering the restaurant. The hotel is a Wrexham asset.
Cozy room and friendly staff. Very nice breakfast. Short walk to town and the train station. Would highly recommend when visiting Wrexham.
Very friendly Staff and fantastic evening meal and breakfast, we stayed in room one which was on the small side with a very small window and no view but otherwise very pleased.
Nice place
Great room very clean ,friendly staff amazing food nice bar short walk into town .Definitely recommend the Lemon tree to any body
Stopped for 2 nights, staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and tidy, food was great, + parking - short walk to the town
Faultless and enjoyed everything about the hotel, lovely breakfast and friendly staff.Room was fine alll you need
We stayed here for two nights, and had dinner and breakfast. The food was top notch, the room was clean and comfortable, and all the staff were extremely courteous and friendly. I’d definitely stay here again.
ROOMS R U TOO SMALL.
Have stayed here a number of times and have enjoyed each visit. However on this occasion both the kettle and hairdryer were faulty !
We had a lovely stay, our room was quirky and very comfortable We had booked couple escape offer so early check in was great however evening meal was disappointing, one of our meals was cold ,we should have said something, in hindsight, but don't like to make a fuss
A delightful small hotel centrally located - excellent value and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend for an overnight or short stay in Wrexham.
The reason for my low star rating was because my bed had fleas!!!! I’m still dealing with all the bites from them. Carpet was very dirty as well.
Came to see Wrexham play, hotel was between the city center and the grounds, close to the train station. It's a cool, old building and apparently where all the Americans stay when visiting according to the locals.
The property is located in an old building. Sound travels; we heard the music from the bar until 10pm. Our door lock to our room had been broken and it had not been properly fixed. The locks on the windows needed repair. Morning breakfast was excellent.
Welcoming staff Comfortable room if a bit dated in decor Fantastic breakfast Convenient central location Secure free parking
We stayed in Room 4 and it was
Friendly and comfortable
Easy contactless late check in. Lovely breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Responsive to queries before booking.
We were greeted with a warm welcome on arrival. The 5 rooms we booked had clean linen and towels. The rooms were clean but carpets and decor tired. The breakfast menu was great with good quality products and lovely waitress service. Pity the restaurant was closed for our stay.
What a gem of a hotel. Staff excellent great service during our stay well looked after
Excellent gem of a hotel, staff very helpful at all times and food was excellent. Would definitely use again
Great location, just a short walk from the town centre. The rooms are comfortable and clean, though the floors are squeaky and you can hear noise from the next room. That didn’t bother me too much, though. Overall, a good place to stay.
Everything was great, room had everything I needed clean bright. All the staff were very helpful and it's close walk to pubs an take aways.
Another lovely stay at the Lemon Tree Wrexham
.
Excellent breakfast
A nice hotel with great staff. Car parking was difficult so parked on a side street. Room ok but let down by a noisy boiler in the bathroom.
The staff were lovely and the restaurant is nice, but the bathroom attached to my room smelled terrible due black mould. If this was dealt with then it would be a pleasant stay.
Quick and easy check in and check out. Had it's own parking which was a bonus. Room was very clean and had all the amenities we required.
Lovely hotel, warm and friendly welcome. Superb dinner in their restaurant followed by a great breakfast!! Highly recommended.
This property is centrally located in Wrexsam, yet was very quiet inside. Our room was spacious and well equipped.
Had a very good stay at Lemon Tree. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good really enjoyed rhe wild mushroom on toast. Good location an easy walk from the station and into the town centre. Wasnt able to book a twin room but the double was a good size. Two people not in a couple can comfortably share. Two minor down sides walls are thin so you get a bit of noise from corrridor and adjacent rooms. Teabags used in restaurant not great for a pot. Overall, restaurants and hotel are good value and i would stay here again.
Friendly staff, amazing breakfast, walkable to all sights, and delicious coffee.
Very friendly staff, good location, nice and clean rooms and good food
Great stay!
What a wonderful hotel and restaurant! We stayed overnight and our room was very comfortable and roomy. Their breakfast was beautifully displayed and tasted amazing - I call it the "Sexy Breakfast in Wrexham." And, after 2 weeks traveling through the UK, I can honestly say that The Lemon Tree has the BEST coffee I have had in the UK. Highly recommended restaurant and hotel!! Top Marks. 💝💫
Place was clean but that's about it, door lock broken on arrival, poor repair quickly made by reception staff. Shower hanging off the wall, unable to shower properly. Basic maintenance desperately required.
The restaurant is fantastic
Had a lovely stay at lemon tree. Staff were attentive and friendly. The 2 course meal and breakfast were delicious. Compliments to the chef and staff.
Such a comfortable stay with friendly staff.
My room was dirty on the skirting board and generally tired decor with a dirty carpet. I was kept up by noisy guests through the night.
From the moment we arrived we had a very warm welcome and it never ceased. The room was very comfortable, well-appointed and gorgeous. It is exactly as advertised - a listed building, so expect some traffic noise. Breakfast was amazing, such care went into making it - coffee was fantastic and we left being well fed. Makes me want to go back to eat in the restaurant which unfortunately doesn’t open on the night we stayed. Location was ideal, with a short walk into town. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, really made our stay!
Absolutely nothing - I loved it - just be mindful of traffic noise if you’re a light sleeper and bring ear plugs. We had no problems at all.
Hotel and food lovely. Bit nervous parking as had to get through tight space for carpark. So maybe do something about this as cars getting bigger.
The property is good and convenient location. Breakfast was very nice and staff friendly. Wrexham is pretty dirty which was disappointing
Central location for our early appointment on Saturday morning.
The noisy road and both nights there was altercations outside with people swearing and fighting.
Staff so helpful
