Shibden Mill Inn

The room was nice and relaxing. especially liked the cookie on arrival. The breakfast was nice, once, we'd seen the other side of the menu which included the much needed cooked breakfast!

The only down sides were the wrong toast order arrived, no butter on the table and initially brought the wrong drinks, but that is really the only things in an other wise flawless stay

Probably the best place I’ve stayed in. The food was outstanding, all the staff were excellent and knowledgeable. Honestly, an absolute gem!

the standard of food for dinner and breakfast was far higher than i expected for a pub with a few rooms, booked at the last minute. I was given a free upgrade of room. the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. will stay again when next in the area

Beautiful property in rural location. Very comfortable room and very quiet overnight so had a good sleep. Excellent dinner and cooked breakfast. Lovely staff who were very helpful.

Nothing about the property itself but I’d recommend approaching from Kell Lane rather than from the Lee Lane side which is a cobbled road and a bit bone jarring!

The Shibden Mill Inn was a wonderful property in a beautiful little valley. The rooms were so nice but we loved the little extra touches music playing and fresh cookies waiting for us in our room when we arrived. Made it feel all the more special. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. The goats cheese and spinach omelettes were lovely a nice addition to the usual breakfast menus. We only stayed for 1 night but wished we’d had time for a longer stay.

It's a bit out of town but a taxi sorted the 7ssue. Although breakfast was nice my eggs Royale was too salty because of the hollandaise sauce.

Only 1 tiny, tiny niggle, there was only 1 sachet of milk with the tea/coffee making facilities in the room

Hotel had lots of warmth and character. Everyone we dealt with was very friendly and helpful, from the people at Reception through to the waitress at breakfast. All went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We asked for a taxi at Reception and within 10 minutes we were in the taxi - so prompt response from Reception was great! Lovely home-baked cookies on arrival in the room and relaxing music playing on the radio as we entered the room. Breakfast was great and catered for vegan and gluten free preferences - very tasty! Felt peaceful and relaxing atmosphere and truly felt like we were on holiday.

There are only two minor issues I can think of - and I am being picky with these. Firstly - there is a very straight forward approach to the Mill from one direction or a very steep approach on a cobbled road from the other direction. It would be good to have an alternative postcode or description of how to avoid that steep road on the approach to the Mill when booking is confirmed. The steep road is fine to drive up and down - but when there is an alternative - less tricky road right next to it - I would go for the less tricky road! Secondly - my side of the bed had a strong squeaking sound when you sat on it - didn't stop us from having a good night's sleep though!

Great location with quality rooms and friendly attentive staff. The full Yorkshire breakfast is a must as the black pudding is sublime.

Great service and friendly staff. The top end room was smart with a huge comfortable bed. We really enjoyed the food in the restaurant. The very old building has been tastefully updated to be comfortable and practical.

Historic Inn in a gorgeous location with a superb beer garden and lovely walks particularly up to Shibden Hall itself. Short taxi hop into Halifax for more bars and restaurants

Washing machine room was on our floor and just opposite our bedroom. It was in full flow as we checked in and with the WM room door left open (as it was warm) it was a strong smell. If the door was shut you would not even know it was there.

Absolutely gorgeous place! Our room was really spacious with good quality decor. The shower was big and everything was clean. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant and the food was really tasty and of excellent quality. The location was a 10 minute drive into Halifax town centre. The breakfast was outstanding. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely old inn in a peaceful location. Our room was beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The cookies were such a treat to have with our coffee in the afternoon. Best we’ve ever had.

Beautiful country inn in a wonderful countryside setting. Lovely bright and spacious bedroom with excellent bathroom facilities. The breakfast was absolutely delicious set in a lovely guest dining room upstairs with a very cozy guest lounge. Really nice staff so friendly and helpful.

Lovely quaint Inn with a hidden away position for those who like a quiet spot. Staff were lovely and the room was lovely with an attractive seating area just outside the front of the room with an abundance of wild birds paying us a visit. Food in the restaurant was lovely although a little on the expensive side. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Tolles Hotel!! Sehr idyllisch gelegen. Very britisch! Sehr freundliches Personal, tolles Essen. Das Klimaproblem konnte durch den Ventilator etwas gemildert werden und der Chef hat das Problem am nächsten Tag zuvorkommend geregelt

Unser Zimmer unterm Dach war zu klein für ein Doppelzimmer, das war eher ein Einzelzimmer. Wir wussten nicht, dass das Dachfenster geöffnet werden konnte, auch der Nachtportier wusste das leider nicht. Es gab keine Klimaanlage.

I LOVED everything about this place and truly enjoyed every minute of my stay. The rooms are picture perfect, the breakfast was fantastic and the staff members were super kind and helpful. My only regret is that I booked only 1 night here - but I will definitely come back again because this place is a rare gem. Highly recommended!
