West Cork Hotel

Het ontbijt was heel uitgebreid, lekker en gezond. Ook van het avondeten hebben we smakelijk genoten. Het personeel is vriendelijk, erg hulpvaardig en aandachtig. Een dikke pluim en veel groeten aan allen daar!

Family owned hotel and the staff were very pleasant.

The hotel was quite tired and dated.

The property was very clean and comfortable. I also really liked the location, as it was close to Mini Town and very convenient.

When ever i stay i am always blown away with the avsloutly first rate service from all staff and the food is always top notch all round the west cork is 10/10 and i would deffinetly recomend it to anyone

Wir hatten einen wirklich tollen Aufenthalt im West Cork Hotel und möchten besonders den hervorragenden Service hervorheben. Nach unserer Vespa-Tour kamen wir völlig durchnässt mit unseren Regensachen zurück. Uns wurde sofort angeboten, die nassen Sachen in einem speziellen Hauswirtschaftsraum zum Trocknen abzugeben. Am nächsten Morgen wurden uns die inzwischen trockenen Sachen sogar bis aufs Zimmer gebracht – ein Service, den wir so nicht erwartet hätten und der uns wirklich begeistert hat! Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig und komfortabel. Auch der Pub im Hotel hat uns sehr gut gefallen und war ein schöner Ort, um den Tag gemütlich ausklingen zu lassen. Besonders praktisch war außerdem, dass wir unsere Vespa in einem geschützten Bereich unterstellen durften. Das hat uns ein sehr gutes Gefühl gegeben.

Beim Frühstück gibt es im Vergleich zu einigen anderen Unterkünften noch etwas Luft nach oben. Es war insgesamt gut, wirkte im Vergleich aber etwas schlichter und weniger umfangreich.

Location excellent. I requested a river view and staff enabled this without a fuss. The music was a great bonus

A wonderful hotel in a beautiful location close to everything. Great room, delicious and generous food, breakfast and evening meal. Staff were great, professional and friendly. We were there 2 nights and wished it could have been longer.

Very low water pressure, thin walls and floor/ceiling.

When I spoke with a manager issues were addressed. Food was good but staff appeared inexperienced. Rooms well looked after, upkeep good. TV choice could be better.

Issues a number of times with service. In any other hotel I have stayed in, if I haven’t pre-paid breakfast, it has been OK to pay after I’ve had the breakfast. Seems strange that you wanted me to pay in advance.

Great location in the centre of Skib. Friendly and helpful staff.

Not quite a 4 star experience. There were a few things that I thought fell short of expectations. Water was provided in the room on day 1 but not on subsequent three days. Small plastic bottles of shampoo/shower gel are a bit outmoded and wasteful from a sustainability perspective. Room could have been better serviced every day.

The West Cork Hotel is so well-situated for exploring west cork. The hotel is idylically situated on the river Ilen. The bedrooms are spacious and those looking out towards the river are peaceful.

Overall I have little to comment on. The team are professional and helpful and the hotel is perfect for my needs, as I only stay one night when visiting. It can be a little noisy when hearing doors opening and closing but other than that the hotel ticks all the right boxes.

The breakfast was really nice and the location of the hotel is really good to explore Skibbereen. The staff were particularly nice as well and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who is visiting the area.

We didn't really like the room we were initially given as it was big but a little bit odd in terms of the layout and the floorboards were very creaky. When I asked if we could change rooms, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and gave us a different room that even had a balcony. Overall it was a really pleasant stay and thanks again to the staff for being so helpful.

The hotel room needed updating, particularly the bathroom - but was clean. Staff were very welcoming.

I just spent a weekend in one of cork cities most expensive hotels and yet this hotel was better in all the ways that make a hotel experience great...HOSPITALITY! Such a wonderful time at this country hotel, great food, great staff and very comfortable.

All good. It seems like the locals love this place too! Only suggestion is they could have a in house nook for the hotel guests (there may have been one I did not see easily and its only a suggestion as it was fine for me)

Loved the hotel and the that I had a real 'key' for my bedroom door Friendly and professional staff. Very good food. Loved the classic decor and the little snug bar. Lovey atmosphere. A memorable two days.

The room was nice and we loved the bar downstairs with the live music! We met some really nice local people as well as the owner of the hotel and he was very friendly.

I found working out the shower controls was challenging but that is probably normal for me! I would have like a coffee, tea making facility in our room.

As usual we loved our night at the West Cork Hotel. It is an excellent location in Skibbereen with everything in town being in walking distance. It is a great base for day trips exploring other parts of West Cork by car. Staff could not be more helpful. We loved waking up on a sunny morning to a beautiful view of the river and watching a duck family start their day. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean, spacey and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. Another great stay and we will be back again.

the meals were excellent as was the service.

On booking, I was advised there was carparking facilities at the hotel, however on arrival to the front in Ilen Street, the location of same was not clear. Parking in an opportune site [Heritage Centre] was taken and queried with the reception staff. I was advised that this was usual for hotel guests to use this location, which in itself was really good.
