What a great 3-night stay for me and fellow travelers here at Bayview Hotel! Isaac was the consummate host and has a terrific staff. Many thanks to Isaac and servers: Josh, Cian, Aoitviin and Corey.
Fabulous place to stay, could not fault anything about this hotel, from the moment we arrived until we left perfection, Trevor wonderful host, and all his staff were amazing, food excellent,my favourite pork belly with scallops was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten
Have to give 5***** to the Bayview hotel. From the first phone call where I spoke to Siobhan about having a Christmas lunch get-together for a group, nothing was a problem, only extremely helpful. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, lovely function room with tables beautifully decorated for lunch overlooking Killybegs bay. Fabulous choice of starters, mains & desserts. The ladies serving us were so friendly. We all had a really great day here. Thanks to Seamus & staff for making our day out so good. 👏👏 I highly recommend the Bayview hotel Killybegs, it’s a hidden gem. Donna
We had a wedding there in August- Everyone who worked there made it so special and relaxed . From the delicious breakfasts , the warm welcomes and they really couldn’t have done anymore for us . Fab venue for a wedding !
The place was clean
Much too expensive for what level of service we got ( low staff numbers ) and what facilities were available
Location was beautiful.
The hotel was dated, damp and way overpriced for what it is / was. The hotel smelled of damp and the carpets were so dated. I’m disappointed more of the Irish government as this is the stark reality now of 80% of the hotels / service industry in Ireland.
Sehr nettes Personal, sauber, super Essen
I had an amazing experience at this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, and the overall comfort was excellent. It’s not very modern, but it has such a unique charm. There’s something about the aura of this place that feels out of this world — I truly did not want to leave. The tranquility and the calm view of the sea are absolutely mesmerising.
Bedroom needed a deep clean and housekeeping still hadn’t bedroom made up from 10am to 4.30pm same day!
Breakfast, morning swim.
The hot water was skalding! A few flowers around the entrance would soften the look.
While the hotel has positive aspects, great views, pleasant staff. I found the housekeeping service totally unacceptable. My room was cleaned very late in the day, which caused inconvenience and having left at 10.30am to return at 3.30pm still not cleaned. I expected more timely service from 4* hotel instead of 4.30pm for a make up! To be told to email issues is not acceptable!!
Beautiful views . Delicious breakfast
Parking was a nightmare . Very stressful . Wasted half an hour and had to walk from very far away up the road by the cliffs with my bags . Would like to have been informed by email that there was no parking available or limited parking .
Låg vackert , fantastisk morgonpromenad längs med den vackra kusten.
Servicen var inte så bra som vi hoppades för det priset.

Situation exceptionnelle en bord d’océan avec une magnifique vue. Le personnel était très aimable et prévenant.
Rien
Location breathtaking
Room was a good size. Breakfast was lovely with good selection on menu. Updated rooms were stylish.
duvets were good quality feather and down, but were very heavy for summertime. Small issue Hanger pegs for dresses etc, needs a slit in the wood to catch hangers & stop hangers falling off onto the floor several times.
Exceptional welcome and staff.
It was welcoming by wonderful staff in a beautiful comfortable setting.
It’s a pity it rained☔️
Location. Views.
Parts really quite run down, including my bathroom & the window alcove which had badly peeling paint and damp patches
Old world charm at this beautiful property. Fantastic location and lovely friendly helpful staff.

Great location, comfortable room, excellent staff
Lovely comfortable hotel. Great outdoor seating with superb views especially when the sun is out. Staff very friendly & attentive. Small village ideal for a short break close to other villages. Great cliff walk. Beachs nearby. Cant complain
The staff, service, food, the sea view and the room were excellent
I didn't dislike anything. I just think that the hotel would benefit from a little bit of an upgrade in the foyer and the outside of the building..
Fabulous location
No issues
Wonderful location. Sense of old world genteel seaside holidaying. Uniqueness
Everything , location , views ,terrace ,weather , food , staff were excellent 👌
Very sm complaints , do hotels not know that there are SUMMER DUVETS available !!!!!!Beds far too hot 🔥. Pillows a little like bricks , far too firm .
What a hotel, the view, the food, the parking, comfy bed, the very clean rooms and extremely helpful staff. Highly recommended hotel.
Fantastic location and amazing scenery.
Great service and excellent food.
Bathrooms could use an upgrade; they weren’t bad but not up to par with comparable properties.
Great hotel off the beaten path. Excellent breakfast. Close enough to the water that we could hear the surf from our room in the evening.
The property is in an ideal spot . Near the pier in Ballycotton if you would like to do a bit of fishing or parking your boat. It has a brilliant view of ballycotton light house. You can park your car on site and walk to all the other amenities in Ballycotton.
Everything here was beautiful.
Beautiful location, friendly staff and very comfortable.
Cheerful and helpfull staff
Check in was very smooth and lady in reception was very cheerful and smiling and welcoming. Room was good size clean and overlooking the sea . Coffee and tea making facilities in the room . Bed linen was clean , bed was really comfortable ,bathroom was small size clean and tidy. Breakfast was good enough choice and hot cooked breakfast available from the kitchen. Overall good all round
The Dinner was exceptional , with flavours that had to be savoured . Best meal we've had in many years ! The staff were all very professional , and the younger servers were exceptionally polite and attentive.( well done to them ) .
All good no complaints , although a few biscuits by the coffee machine would have been nice .
Great place for a reprieve. Loved walking along the headlands.
We asked for a room with a sea view, as before, and paid for it. When we arrived, the toilet dis not work. The second option was on the ground floor, with a faulty patio door, facing the entrance, with wedding guests coming and going, which we refused for obvious reasons. The third choice had no sea view. We paid an exorbitant price for a sub-standard stay. We vf will not be going back again and will inform our friends of poor value for money.
The view was amazing and the staff was so nice
The setting was just spectacular- sat outside in evening sun having dinner and a drink
The odd touch up required here and there but nothing major
Location and the ‘Bay’ view and the staff were very friendly and helpful!
I understand that it is an old property and that rooms have to conform as such but our window was very small and we couldn’t own it fully- again aware of health and safety rules…
Great location comfortable clean Hotel. Lovely welcoming staff good breakfast.
Nothing to dislike
Lovely staff (esp the night porter) and breakfast- great location and value for money.
Smart TV would be handy
Fabulous location overlooking little harbour and lighthouse island. The restaurant offers the best of local fish and farm produce cooked and presented in ways which would shame many Michelin starred eateries. Staff are lovely but overall atmosphere is a bit dull, particularly the bar, which could do with more of the maritime theme and maybe more lively music.
This hotel has possibly the most beautiful scenery on its door step and amazing view of the ball cotton harbour and ocean. The hotel itself is quaint, relaxing vibe , with really nice staff . The lady who I believe is the manager Suzanne made our stay that little bit extra better with just lovely touches to our stay especially for our 5 year old . The rooms are excellent comfortable and our view from our room was unbelievable. The breakfast is definitely the nicest I have had compared to any hotel I have stayed . Excellent choices it really has alot to choose from . The location of this hotel is perfect everything on its doorstep. See you soon for sure .
End of September nite away birthday present for my mum Lovely comfortable relaxed old world charm seaview hotel Friendly staff and Reception Spectacular setting Seaview room with fabulous vista comfy kingsize bed and big TV Bathroom very dated however and needs modernising with new bath or shower. Thankfully we had spa treatment booked at Castlemartyr resort nearby following next morning and use of leisure facilities. A La carte fine dining evening meal however was top notch at Bayview Hotel and thoroughly enjoyable. Great service. Irish cuisine with french twist. Lamb done 3 ways was sensational. Duck fillet was tender and juicy cooked to perfection. Very decadent! Breakfast next morning was delicious but service was a bit slow moving and somewhat delayed. Unfortunately my elderly mother decided to use lift instead of taking the stairs to get to the room on our arrival. It wasnt a nice experience! She did notice horrible acrid stale strange metallic like odour like burnt rust or metal when inside the lift or elevator and the carpet was tired and very worn ,disappointing for such a beautiful hotel. When was the last time it was serviced? Nevertheless we were determined to not let it spoil our trip away. The room and food and Seaviews more than made up for it!
Very well located, nice views, staff very nice, very close to the cliffs
The heater didn’t work and we had to change rooms. The information regarding dinner was not updated in the room, and we didn’t know the restaurant was closed, so we missed dinner. Breakfast was ok, but overall I think it was too expensive for the service provided.
The sea view and the rooms
Expensive to stay one night. Breakfast was basic
Breakfast was delicious very pleased.
Staff ; bar area ; dining area ;
Heating making noise ;in bedroom ; dead flies on window cell ; rust in bath ; on approach to hotel it needs painting and condensation on windows with cobwebs on approach to front door ; hotel from outside looks tired
Visited the dining room on a few occasions in August & September. Fantastic dining experience . Food was really good on the occasions I was there . Service was excellent as well and a big thanks to Isaac and his great dining room staff . Black sole was a highlight . Melt in the mouth stuff . Everyone from group was really delighted . The menu is good with fish ,duck and beef to the fore.
Excellent Location, Breakfast lovely evening meal lovely
nothing
Location, comfort & breakfast...... 🤗
Beautiful setting with pleasant staff. The food was excellent and the rooms were well finished and very comfortable. The hotel.is showing some signs of age. Beautiful sea views. Breakfast was nice but personally I would have liked more. Well worth a visit.
The view from both our room and the dining room, the quality of service, the location was amazing, the food was excellent.
Parking vans in front of our view of the ocean in the middle of our dinner detracted from the ambience and from what would have been an amazing experience .
Location wax excellent. Ambience very good.
Staff shortages impacted on the service.
Such a beautiful location. Lovely room. Great breakfast and dinner was very special. Thanks to a great team at the bay view hotel.
Couldn't get a taxi and staff at reception were far from helpful
Unhelpful staff
The view from the Bay Hotel over Ballycotton Bay and the lighthouse is exceptional. We loved spending a quiet evening to ourselves in the living room on the second floor, reading a book with a glass of wine after a busy day walking the cliff loop. The floor to ceiling window provided a viewpoint that made you feel you were almost in the sea! We had dinner in the restaurant on Saturday evening and it was delicious. Excellent service, excellent staff, excellent location, lovely room; I highly recommend the Bay Hotel for a short break.
Everything was perfect.
Small quite hotel
Reception tried to charged me €70 on check out for 1x 3 course meal we didn't have mind bogging
Food and ambience excellent
Nothing it was great
Location and view. Breakfast fabulous.
Couldn’t open window a lot. Walked in piece of glass on bedroom rug. Shower went hot and cold!
We got view to the sea and it was beautiful.
Hotel needs some remodelling. Bar was a bit dead and not many drinks options. A bit expensive
Quiet, beautiful view.
No live eve music in bar or Trad in village.
Position with a great view Amazing breakfast & dinner
Shower curtain in bathroom
Staff and accommodation were fantastic! Absolutely beautiful experience and I am delighted... I will be back
Leaving?
Really comfortable bed, location was super.
Not a big fan of 11am check outs
The views and how clean it was, lovely staff.
Cold water shower
Location
Food disappointing and not good quality or standard. Rooms were not cleaned to high standard and need wardrobes. The pegs are not good enough and don’t work to hang clothes.
This was our second time visiting the Bayview Hotel, previously visited in 2021 during the pandemic. The hotel is a gem and located along the coast with beautiful views of the ocean. The hotel itself is old-fashioned although since our last visit the bedrooms seem to have been updated and are more modern now. If you're looking for some seriously good food, make sure you book in for dinner while you're visiting. We still talk about how amazing the food is. In saying that, we had breakfast on both mornings and it wasn't up to the standards I'd remembered from our last visit. The waiting staff seemed to be very new and still being trained up which meant long wait times to get a drink or not knowing the dishes on the menu. There is a cliff walk close by and you're not too far away from Ballymaloe house and Ballymaloe gardens which are both lovely to visit. All in all, we'll definitely be back to the Bayview Hotel as we really like the location and evening meal.
Accommodating and nice staff! breakfast was really good as well, and the hotel is a walk away from a few restaurants/pub if you do not want to eat at the hotel!
We were initially put in one of the only rooms without a sea view, and only had a parking view. Even though they moved us as soon as we asked to a partial sea view, they should give the parking view room as a last resort when everything else is booked! The bathroom in our room did not match the pictures at all, and was pretty outdated.
evening meal and location
shower over bath
Location, bar and service
Water in bathroom is coming as two separated streams; extremely hot and super cold. Cute but not practical in the 21st Century.
Breakfast was good .very friendly staff
The doors to bedroom very hard to open. Needs updating
Location food and staff were all excellent
