The old monastery is very cool, and our room was large and the A/C worked well. The staff was nice and tried to offer suggestions with parking.

DO NOT stay here if you have a rental car. Parking in downtown is a nightmare and you have to lug your bags several blocks to the hotel. At checkout, the hotel tried to call a taxi for us to "nearby" the hotel, but they were all busy. So, he suggested we walk some blocks to a taxi stand. This ended up being like half a mile away with heavy bags. We actually saw another taxi stand much closer to the hotel than the one reception told us to go to. Very frustrating with 50 pound bags. The breakfast is also not very good, there was mold in the shower, and there was something in a large black trash bag under my bed.

Perfekte Lage mitten in der Stadt, wunderschönes Gebäude und eine unglaubliche Atmosphäre. Dazu ein tolles Frühstück und außergewöhnlich nettes Personal – sowohl an der Rezeption als auch beim Abendessen. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt!

Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen war die Dame beim Frühstück, die leider nicht so freundlich war wie alle anderen Mitarbeiter des Hotels. Auch der Kaffee war leider enttäuschend und passte überhaupt nicht zu dem ansonsten tollen Frühstück.

Sólo advertir que no se puede llegar al hotel en coche, ya que está en una zona peatonal

The breakfast was not of high quality (no fresh juices, coffee grounds in the coffee, no homemade marmelade for ex) although there was a variety of choices. Also, the air con was quiet noisy.

Leggendo le recensioni di altri ospiti mi ero premurata di chiedere una camera luminosa, ottenendo una risposta positiva. Arrivati nell'hotel purtroppo ci era stata assegnata un camera tipo cava, con una piccolissima finestra ed un bagno minuscolo. Abbiamo dormito in quella camera la prima notte, fortunatamente il giorno successivo su mia nuova richiesta la camera è stata cambiata ed era confortevole. In questo, come in altri casi, ho avuto l'impressione che prenotare con booking non sia gradito e vengano date camere meno belle. Inoltre a colazione l'espresso viene fatto pagare a part

Πολύ ευγενικο και εξυπηρετικό προσωπικό, το δωμάτιο ήταν άνετο και ευρυχωρο. Τόσο τα δωμάτια όσο και συνολικά το κτήριο είναι πανέμορφο, γραφικό και πολύ ξεχωριστό.

Το δωμάτιο δε διέθετε παντζούρια, και πάρα τις χοντρές κουρτίνες το φως περνουσε το πρωί με αποτέλεσμα να δυσκολεύει λίγο τον ύπνο.

Dies war eines der schönsten Hotels, in denen ich jemals war. Es ist wirklich mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail gemacht und das Personal ist extrem zuvorkommend.

Incredible location in the heart of Rethymno Old Town on the most perfect strip of restaurants. You feel as if you are staying at a hotel that is part of one big family dinner outdoor gathering. Spectacular architecture with old monastery stone and loveliness, with the modern air conditioning and bathroom perks. Loved it. The entire Rethymno experience as a welcome surprise.

Would be lovely if breakfast could go just a smidge longer. For us weary travelers who need a bit more time in the morning.

Шикарный отель, все понравилось. Завтрак короткий по времени 8-10, я опоздал на 15 мин, успел поесть пока персонал мал по малу сворачивался...

С парковкой в городе беда... к отелю невозможно подьехать, он в пешеходной зоне, за пределами которой припарковаться тоже челендж. Это относится не столько к отелю, сколько к планированию поездке в город в принципе...

The property has so much character. It is really beautiful and in a wonderful location in the old town. The room size is fantastic, with a seperate sitting area to watch tv. The breakfast was lovely and a big thank you to Maria who made beautiful cakes every morning and was so welcoming. All the staff were lovely. We had dinner here one night in the laneway off the hotel and it was very good.

The rooms are slightly dated but this didn’t take away from its charm. The mattress was too soft it felt like sinking in every time you sat on it.

Accueil chaleureux avec des explications claires et un verre de bienvenue. Le charme de l’établissement et la gentillesse du personnel. Fabuleux petit déjeuner.

Étendre la plage horaire du petit déjeuner jusqu’à 11h serait vraiment appréciable.

Beautiful building with lovely decor, great location and helpful friendly staff. Breakfast was great too.

One very minor point - only instant coffee (as opposed to pods or filter) available in the bedroom. Coffee at breakfast was ok but not great.

The location was perfect in the heart of the city, everything is a walking distance. The hotel was also well decorated, like museum. The breakfest was also very good.

Stairs to the room and the hotel does not have an elevator. For me it was not a problem, but for someone it could be one.

Perfecte locatie, prachtig gebouw en zeer vriendelijke mensen.

Eerste ontbijtruimte was bezet, aanpalende ruimte was niet verlicht. Licht in doucheruimte was kapot. 1 ochtend geen warm water maar dat was ‘s avonds verholpen. Televisie hangt verkeerd, en beugel kan niet uitgetrokken of gedraaid worden.

Le bâtiment est magnifique et très bien mis en valeur, accueil très chaleureux.

Delighted to return to the hotel (weekend of Rethymno carnival). We had requested the same room as we stayed in last year, 106, and the staff made sure we got it ❤️ lovely breakfast that is very affordable, hotel is bang in the center of the old town, very friendly staff. We love the historic look of the hotel.

Very small complaint that is more a personal preference - pillows in room were a bit thin/soft for us.

De gastvrijheid bij het ontbijt. 😬 Wij kwamen om 9.30 uur in ontbijt zaal er was geen plek meer. We konden ergens even plaatsnemen en als er een tafel vrijkwam konden we aan tafel. Uiteindelijk zijn we toch maar ontbijt gaan pakken. En toen werd ons medegedeeld dat het buffet dicht ging en als we nog iets wilde dan moest je maar snel je bord vullen. Ik vond dat jammer. 🥲 Het was 10 euro per persoon voor het ontbijt.

Ήταν σε πάρα πολύ καλό σημείο μέσα στην πόλη.. Ήταν πεντακάθαρο... Η κοπέλα στην ρεσεψιόν ότι καλύτερο για το ξενοδοχείο, δε γνωρίζω αν δουλεύει ή είναι ιδιοκτήτρια, πάντως την ευχαριστώ άπειρα γιατί λόγω υγείας ήταν άμεσα εξυπηρετική σε κάποιο μας θέμα... Το συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα... Θα το επισκεφτώ ξανά σίγουρα... Και θα το προτείνω και σε γνωστούς και φίλους..

Stunning building in the heart of the old town. Our room was lovely and the staff were friendly.

We loved stayed in the old Veneto Hotel. Both the hotel and the room were beautiful. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful in terms of advice relating to local activities.

I think our only grumble, since we hadn't expected it, was having to haul our suitcases from the bus station (we arrived by bus from Heraklion). We had planned to hail a taxi, but Rethymnon oldtown is only walkable. But we managed, and it was totally worth it.

Noi abbiamo bisogno di stanza a due letti e purtroppo siamo finiti in camera all’ultimo piano con finestre ad altezza pavimento , senza luce e molto claustrofobica . Nella richiesta ero stata molto chiara e disposta a fare un upgrade di stanza . Ma non ci sono srare possibilita e molto scontenti di una camera che non dovrebbe nemmeno essere affittata

Beautiful historic building in the old town.

No hot water in the morning of our stay.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable, and really a vibe with cute, traditional wooden furniture. The two women I encountered on reception were really wonderful, so helpful and going above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience. For example, I really appreciated the real coffee left in my room when I had early excursions to go to. The woman managing the breakfast buffet was also really nice. I never normally bother writing reviews, but the women on reception were so good at their jobs I felt I wanted to share a shout-out to them.

The room on the ground floor is a bit noisy at night because it's next to the restaurant, and with that in mind I think you need different curtains for that room so people can't see in.

Loved this tiny hotel. It’s 600 years old and used to be a monastery, so it’s very tastefully decorated in an Old World style. It’s on a charming narrow alley with greenery hanging overhead. They offer a welcome drink. We had no intention of having dinner here but we looked at the menu while having the welcomed drink and the menu was amazing. We had the lamb and cheese in pastry and the vine leaves stuffed with lamb. And they even gave us 10% off since we were staying there. But back to the room. It was huge. It had a hair dryer and plenty of places to put your luggage. The view from room 109 was of the fortress and a charming courtyard restaurant below with a gurgling fountain. Since it’s a restaurant below there is noise but it was minimal and the fountain overrode the restaurant noise. We were exhausted and went to sleep at 9 with the window open and the noise wasn’t a problem. The fountain was turned off at some point and it was very quiet. The fountain was turned back on at 7 a.m. I really loved the white noise from the fountain. The bed was king sized, medium firmness. There is a safe but it’s too small for computers. The receptionist was very friendly as was the waiter. We highly recommend this hotel. We were only staying one night so we parked at the Fortessa Parking Lot 20 euros for 24 hours. There are cheaper parking lots a bit farther away. Ask and they’ll send you a list of parking lots.

Location was perfect for exploring the old town but it was also good for the beach and near the bus station for exploring further.

The bar around the corner plays loud music till early hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday with lots of people hanging around talking afterwards. There was a window in the room door which lets light in all night.
