Excellent facility. Offer parking for those that have rental car…approx $8/night. Restaurants with great food and great staff
Nothings
Great place, great beach
Nothing
Breakfast was excellent, the staff were extremely courteous and helpful, and the hotel itself was spotless and the housekeeping was excellent also
The lobby was uncomfortably hot in the evenings with no air conditioning in the lobby area. We were a little disappointed with our room as we paid for priority location with sea view and our room was on the first floor which does not give a clear view of beech but I suppose it done what it said on the tin.
Breakfast has no coffee service at the table, which shouldn't be the case at this level, and the pastéis de nata are tiny and taste frozen. The buffet itself is large and has real variety, and the pizza is good. Desserts are forgettable. On seafood night both the lobster and the prawns were tough and chewy — quantity over quality.
We booked this on the strength of its rating and its billing as a high-end property. Having stayed, I don't think either is deserved. It's a solid three star experience wearing five star packaging. Honeymoon: nothing at check-in. Over the following days things did appear in the room — a bottle of sparkling wine one day, a plate of chocolates the next — but with no note, no card and no explanation. The plate wasn't even covered. The intention was there; the execution wasn't. Service is where it falls down hardest. We were on half board, which includes no drinks at dinner. Fine in itself, but the way it was communicated to us by one waiter was borderline rude, and his offer of "a free water" was delivered as if he were doing us a favour. On other nights we did order drinks: the cocktails are poorly mixed and the house wine tasted vinegary. Elsewhere, English is limited and basic courtesy is inconsistent — asking for a shaded table one morning got us a curt response rather than any help. Reception and concierge have no flexibility at all. We couldn't get our nights registered on the IHG loyalty programme, there was no late checkout offered, and the concierge team had no useful recommendations for the area. Cleanliness was the biggest disappointment. There seemed to be one housekeeper covering our entire corridor, and more than once we found her hair on the floor beside the bed. Cups weren't changed. The room was never properly maintained. In the restaurant you have to hunt for a clean plate or a clean glass. Rooms: no amenities provided on arrival, no slippers, everything on request — and when it arrived, the quality was poor, the sort
Very modern. Rooms and bathrooms were really nice. Atmosphere was very relaxed and chilled.
Clean overall and nice location
The rooms were oddly setup. The bathtub was right beside the bed with no segregation. It was as if the bedroom and bathroom were one big room overall
Sempre um sítio a revisitar...
Acho que nada...
The pool area and closeness to the beach. The beach restaurant called Palmarés. The silent disco. The pastel de nata class.
The fact that the bathroom is open plan to the room, how expensive the buffet is if you’re not on an all-inclusive package (€47 each without alcohol!), the quality of the cocktails served (very little alcohol), the fact that the only area in the hotel that has air con are the rooms, the TVs were like something from the 80s (no WiFi, Netflix etc). No kettle in the room - you have to walk to the end of your corridor to use a water dispenser. The hotel in general is in desperate need of a facelift. It definitely cannot be categorised as a five star hotel (dated carpets, lobby cushions etc). I would say it is closer to a three-star. Apparently to get access to the spa area you have to pay €25/hour. This in normal 5 star hotels would be free. The quality of the food at the pool bar was shockingly bad and expensive. The waiters were not attentive. In the evenings, the lobby bar only had mixed nuts to offer along with the drinks. Finally, the staff uniforms looked cheap.
Todo en general, muy recomendable.
We loved the swimming pools and the beach in front of the hotel. The staff was really nice and made an effort to make our stay pleasant. The food was VERY good, especially the portuguese dishes and the desserts! Aqua gym class was fun!
The bathroom could be better, I don’t understand why can’t we keep the doors in hotel bathrooms! the bath tube was in the middle of the room and the shower shared a door with the toilet (so only one can be closed at a time). For family trips, I would have preferred a proper bathroom with doors. There could be also more activities for children, there were few options at odd times.
We stayed for six nights and had a very relaxing stay overall. The pool area was a real highlight, with plenty of comfortable sunbeds available throughout the day. We only had breakfast included, but there was a good selection of options and we enjoyed it each morning. Getting into Lagos was easy, with Uber rides being both convenient and cheap. Overall, we enjoyed the pool, the spacious room, and the convenient location, but the overall experience didn't justify the price for us.
The hotel didn't feel like a five-star property to us given the price point, and we wouldn't choose to stay here again. The reception staff could have been more welcoming and proactive. The layout of the hotel, along with the multiple underground parking areas, was quite confusing on arrival, and it would have been helpful if this had been explained at check-in. The room was very spacious, but could benefit from a few improvements. The shared door between the toilet and shower areas didn't close properly, and the lighting in both spaces was quite poor. The TVs would benefit from being upgraded to include smart apps, and the carpet could do with a thorough clean.
Best thing about the hotel was location. Food was awful not that of a 5 star, drinks was awful “banana cocktails” we had a junior suite and it was just like a premier inn. Staff was rude and unhelpful Overall wouldn’t never stay at this brand again
We stayed here for a week to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday. There were about 100 of us and the hotel was quite accommodating. It’s really quiet and serene. We stayed in 2 rooms during our stay, upgrading to the suite with a private pool for the last 2 nights. Rooms are large and reallyclean. Bathroom really big. Bathtub right by the bed a bit jarring at firstbut we got used to it very quickly. The shower head was heavenly. Large and amazing. Really clean. Customer service top notch.
We stayed at the end of July with all inclusive and it was very good. Pools were chilly in the morning but warmed up. Rooms were clean and looked good with daily room service. The hotel had good food and drink available throughout the day. The staff were very friendly and welcoming particularly Max, Sergio and Marcus, who made our stay welcoming and enjoyable, they were often our waiters in the restaurant and regularly serving on the bar. The chefs provided personalised food choices of eggs, pasta and grilled meat. Omar and Paratha (omelette man), some of the chefs, were amazing serving pasta and eggs daily with a warm smile and friendly tone. The hotel location was very good, 5 mins from the beach and 20 min walk from Lagos along the boardwalks. The atmosphere around the whole hotel was very positive and overall we had an amazing stay which was invigorated by the amazing staff like Omar and Paratha, and Sergio, Max and Marcus.
Went on a family holiday at the end of July stayed for a week. In a perfect location, just a short walk to the beach, a 25 minute walk into the town along the beach. We went into town a few nights and got there by taxi. Bolt is incredible. cost us under €10 to get there and back. The hotel staff were very welcoming and the hotel was very clean and tidy. As soon as we arrived cases got taken off our transport and put straight to the side ready to go into our room. Got offered water or a glass of prosecco on arrival. Wristbands were put on straight away, if all inclusive kids and adults have different coloured wristbands to distinguish the difference, went straight to lunch when we got there. Food was amazing quality although there isn’t a huge selection. Each night there was a different theme e.g mexican. Desserts were very nice and a lot of choice. Every lunch and evening meal there was pizza and pasta so choice for picky eaters. At dinner there was a kids section, slightly more basic food. All foods were labelled with different allergens. Evening entertainment was good, had different things every night. Activities all day and every day e.g cookery class, wine tasting. water carpet, aqua gym etc. Beds very comfy. Hotels rooms were always kept clean and mini bar was stocked up every day. No noise at night very easy to sleep at night. The atmosphere was very welcoming and positive. Shoutout to Omar in the kitchen, he cooked pasta for me most nights and was very friendly. Max was one of the waiters and was straight to our table asking for drinks and ensuring everything was okay. Marcus was also another waiter he was so friendly and always made a conversation. Sergio from the lobby bar made us drinks a lot of nights and service was always quick.
We stayed for two weeks in July and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed B&B because we wanted to explore the local restaurants and can highly recommend this approach. We did eat in the hotel one night and it was amazing. Loads of choices of fresh high quality food. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff were always very friendly and professional. The restaurant area overlooks the pool and sea, and with ample space, is a lovely place to eat. My only slight grumble was the bar staff, at the poolside and main lobby bar, didn’t seem to know what gluten-free beer was for a while, let alone stock it. I asked twice at reception before a duty manager assured me it would be stocked in all the bars. The hotel later made a nice gesture of leaving a gluten-free brownie in our room to acknowledge the dietary requirement. However, only 3-4 days later they ran out of beer. I’m sure it wasn’t all me.! I actually found it strange how many bars in Lagos didn’t know what gluten-free beer was, and often didn’t cater for this diet, because in Spain it’s very common. Location wise, the hotel is on the seafront but separated from the beach by a road and rail track. The beaches are very clean and not crowded this far out of town. It’s a short drive or longer walk into Lagos harbour and old town where there are hundreds of great bars and restaurants. We often walked in and taxied back for €5-€9. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and is modern, calm and comfortable. Our rooms were cleaned every day and beds turned down each night. The rooms have an open bathroom with a cool mirrored toilet/shower door. We liked it but I’m not sure our teenage kids appreciated that.!? The pools were both spotless too, with some entertainment at the main pool area most days. On that, our kids are teenagers and were bored stiff. There is no activities or sports for teens and nowhere for them to gather and meet others. We saw plenty bored teenagers but they’re not great at making friends unless there’s a reason to meet. Not even a pool table. We thought a beach volleyball pitch/tennis court at the lower pool area would be a great addition and probably tempt us back. Without that though we’d probably look for something more suitable for the whole family.
Recomendo.
As piscinas estavam geladas.
Perhaps a misunderstanding I thought for the 75 euros per day we paid for all inclusive included all restaurants I didn't know I would have to eat every meal at a buffet. My wife and I drank very little and would have been cheaper to pay as we went.
The rooms are nice and big and very well appointed It’s a bit of a strange set up having the toilet and bathroom in the same room as the bed.
There was no soul/atmosphere in the place. It’s a beautiful building in a beautiful spot with lots of great facilities, but it lacked atmosphere The lack of food options around the pools is a let down. The snack menu at thenooos and in the bar is way over priced and pathetic options.
General: Overall I would recommend the hotel and you will have a lovely time there. I’ve given it a 5/5 rating because of the things that matter most to us were very good, although there are elements that could be better. We loved the wristband which had your key (chip) embedded in it. Not had this before but it was so useful. This chip was also what you used to pay for anything. The hotel is very modern, clean and lots of large spaces. Use the app whilst you are there too. You can message reception etc, see the activities for the day, menus and again something I’ve not seen before is you get an automated message when your room has been cleaned! Location: For me it was perfectly located. 3-4mins by taxi to Lagos town centre. It was in a quiet location. 5-7 minute walk (2 songs on my iPhone!) to a small supermarket (crisps, drinks, snacks, ice cream). We didn’t go to the beach but it’s across the road and sand dunes. Looked lovely though. There are a couple of restaurants/bars between the hotel and the beach. Getting about: Use Uber or Bolt. Loads of taxis available all the time. Extremely good value. Our taxi fares varied from 4 euros up to 7 euros to get from the hotel to Lagos town centre. Typical wait time was 5 minutes. Service: All the employees were friendly and pleasant. Service was always there when you needed it (eg drinks whilst at the pool). I get the feeling the staff don’t feel empowered to make decisions that are right thing even if they may not be from the text book. For example - the conference room was used for all the World Cup matches (which was brilliant). I asked if the Wimbledon tennis quarter final could be shown (in the afternoon - no clash with the football) but the reception staff member just said a point blank “no” it’s was for the football only. This definitely fell into the “won’t” not “can’t” territory. There was a couple of other smaller examples too. Be careful when they come to fill your room minibar - half the time they knocked but then walked straight in, not waiting for you to answer. Staff to call out: Nuno who supported us on arrival was excellent. Katrina - part of the entertainment team. Rooms: We had a Priority Location Sea View Double. This was on the 6th floor of the main part of the building (above reception and the restaurant/lobby bar). The view was great. The room was a good size, even with our 10 year old on a pull out type bed. In terms of other room types, as you may have seen on other reviews, the private pool suites (6 of them all on the 5th floor) are overlooked by the rooms we were in on the 6th floor, as their balcony/veranda extends out. The pool suites looked nice (very large veranda with tables/chairs and sunbeds with a canopy) if you don’t mind being over looked. I enquired about a Junior Suite when we arrived and had a look at one but there’s no point as it is literally just the same as the normal room but 1 metre longer - everything else is the same. Pools: There are 3 pools (plus a small kids pool). We spent most of our time in the upper pool (near the restaurants). It had a bit more of a vibe and was closer to our room. If you have kids and want to play with anything like balls etc, you have to go to the lower pool. Sunbeds were great. Very comfortable. There were always beds available. Only one time when we came down at lunch time did we have to go to the lower pool as they were all taken by the top pool. Restaurants: We stayed on a B&B basis. The buffet restaurant for breakfast was great. It had everything we wanted. Large selection of everything you’d want. It had sparkling wine as part of it if you wanted. We had the dinner buffet one evening. Not price competitive with eating out (buffet was 47 euros per adult and 23.50 euros per child - plus drinks) - although water was included. This was a very good buffet. Lots of choice and very good quality. Good for kids too. We ate out in the local town for all other nights (see below for tips). The snack restaurant was fine. Could do with a better selection. Entertainment: There was something on pretty much every night. Mainly music. Had a magic show one night. All pretty good. They had various other activities during the week eg wine tasting, liquor tasting, soap making, bingo etc. Lagos town centre: I would highly recommend going to Lagos for the back streets with lots of small restaurants. There are also lots of shops and bars. We ate there all bar one night trying a different restaurant each night. Our bills for 2 adults and 1 child(10) came to about 80-90 euros each time (including a 10% tip). We ate on the marina side one evening (Quay Restaurant) which was good but you must venture over to the other side of the water for far more choice etc. There’s a foot bridge (also a drawbridge) to get to the other side or just get the taxi to the other side anyway. The best restaurants we ate at were Kisa, Tanninos, Scaruccio, Quay. Don’t go to Bahia - food and value is not as good as the town centre restaurants. Other: We went to Slide and Splash - a water park about 30 mins way (20 euros by Bolt). It was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Everything was perfect. Our room was spotless and absolutely quiet. Breakfast had a wide variety to choose from and had different things each day. The real highlight here is the staff, all are very friendly and ready to help you. A special mention goes to Nuno at Reception, who was a real assist to us with great recommendations. Also, a shout out to Erick from the Snack Bar and Txeco and Daniel from the pool area. Thank you for your hospitality, we had a great time!
Nothing at all
only the location
reception
A truly wonderful hotel with plenty of staff and amazing facilities. The food was delicious, live cooking stations were really good. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, with no exceptions. The location is brilliant only a short 5-minute stroll to a beautiful, long sandy beach. It is the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway. Will be back.
Having visited Algarve for 25 years and solely to Iberostar Lagos since 2019 we have seen everything Algarve has to offer. That's why my title says what it does. During these 7 years Iberostar Lagos even helped is to get married in Lagos and surprise thoughtful gifts made it really special. This year our arrival was greeted, by Anna, as though old friends were meeting again. I cant believe she instantly recognised us 12 months later. This carried on throughout the hotel in the bar and restaurant staff recognised us instantly and welcomed us, again, like old friends. Special recognition must go to Stefan. I had a minor criticism last year. This year the food had gone back to its usual fantastic quality. Hot meat dishes with distinctive Portugues/Algarvian tastes were delicious particularly what was described as pork cheeks - fantastic. Breakfast was, as usual, delicious with lots of tasty choices. Sadly it seems we won't be returning next year. We aren't ones to sit by the beach/pool all day and have covered probably everything there is to see in Algarve. We will however take with us fond memories of Iberostar Lagos. More importantly our memories of the top class staff and service will serve as a standard against which all others will be measured. We will genuinely miss you all. If anyone reads this review in my opinion if you are visiting Lagos you should go here - there is nowhere better. I hope my Portuguese is up to standard so.... Sentiremos muita falta de toda a equipe e do hotel.
We had a fantastic time at the Iberostar again. This was our second time and we enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked for next year. On arrival we were welcomed with a glass of champagne and taken to our room. We booked a room with a Balinese bed this year which I really enjoyed. I am always early up and enjoyed the calmness in the morning with a cup of coffee and the views over the Atlantic Ocean. We booked breakfast only because we like to go out in the evening for a meal in Lagos which is a 40 minute walk. We also had dinner in the hotel at the à la carte restaurant, which was delicious and very friendly staff. Breakfast is amazing: so much choice, and all very fresh. I enjoyed pasteis de nata very much (we also joined the cooking class for pasteis de nata at the hotel, my favourite cake now!). The beach is directly at the opposite of the hotel, which we visited most days. Looking forward to visit again in 2027.
The hotel is lovely and the lobby bar staff are fabulous. It’s a 25 min walk to Lagos along the gangway - parallel to the sea/beach or a cheap uber ride €4 each way. The hotel food and facilities are well catered for. Entertainment on an evening is varied (standard lobby entertainment) the Motown was the best while we were here. Lobby bar staff are attentive and generally friendly for us Claudia, Lucas and Uday were fantastic and deserve a bonus - they work so hard. Our room was clean and spacious. Mini bar replenished daily. The personal pool on balcony was maintained daily. Literally can’t complain about the accommodation other than our room was overlooked by the above level (disappointing given the room we had with own private balcony and pool). Generally the staff are all new (so always in training) given the hotel closes nov to March and staff are on 6 month contracts in the main, the hotel runs as smooth as you’d expect. What’s nice to observe is there is 3-4 managers around every day to ensure smooth running of the hotel (and are very approachable to for guests). IF you are an Iberostar club member, it’s not recognised here which is disappointing but not a deal breaker. We were given a voucher for a complimentary meal at the al a’carte (which we didn’t enjoy) and free (usually €25 for an hour) hour exclusive in their small spa - again, other than jacuzzi we didn’t enjoy the steam room or sauna (not given the outside heat). I would recommend - overall but wouldn’t rush back.
We spent a week at Iberostar Selection Lagos Algarve with our son on an All Inclusive package in one of the sea-facing rooms. The hotel enjoys a beautiful location with stunning views over the beach, and throughout our stay we found it to be spotlessly clean. The housekeeping team clearly takes great pride in maintaining both the rooms and the public areas. One of the highlights of our holiday was the food and beverage experience. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive and genuinely helpful, and the buffet chefs frequently offered to prepare special dishes for us, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast offered everything you would expect from a high-quality buffet—freshly cooked eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, an extensive selection of breads, cold meats, cheeses, cereals and fresh fruit. What really stood out, however, was the impressive range of healthy “superfoods” available, including turmeric, ginger, chia seeds, moringa and psyllium husk. It was an unexpected feature that we really appreciated. Lunch and dinner were equally impressive, with an excellent variety of fresh seafood and meats each day. During our stay we enjoyed lobster, octopus, large prawns, langoustines and many other beautifully prepared dishes. The food was consistently fresh, varied and of a very high standard. As part of the All Inclusive package we also dined in the à la carte restaurant. The prawn starter was outstanding—fresh, generous in size and absolutely delicious. There was also plenty happening around the hotel throughout the day and evening, with a good programme of activities and entertainment. During the World Cup, the hotel made a real effort by screening the matches in one of the conference rooms, with waiters serving drinks and snacks throughout. Watching football in a dark conference room via projector felt a little unusual, but the effort the hotel made to create a viewing experience for guests was genuinely appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday. However, there were a few areas where we felt a hotel carrying the Iberostar brand could improve. Firstly, on arrival after a hot summer journey from the airport, we were welcomed with the choice of either wine or water. As we were beginning our All Inclusive holiday, we politely asked if we could have both a glass of wine and some water, only to be told it had to be one or the other. It felt unnecessarily mean-spirited and wasn’t the warm first impression you would expect from a five-star hotel. Secondly, the reception area felt rather neglected. Many of the plants looked dry and drooping throughout our stay, and I even found myself mentioning to reception that they could do with watering. It is a small detail, but first impressions matter, and it gave the entrance a slightly unloved feel. Finally, our room change experience was disappointing. On arrival we asked whether there might be another room available within the same category but with a better sea view. Reception kindly agreed to check the following day and advised us not to unpack, asking us to return after breakfast. When we returned the next morning, we were told that a room would be allocated at 2 pm, but despite asking several times whether they could simply tell us which room it would be, we were told this wasn’t possible. At 2 pm we were offered a room with a noticeably poorer sea view than the one we already occupied. We therefore chose to remain in our original room. Had the room number simply been shared earlier, we could have made an informed decision, unpacked and enjoyed our holiday without spending the day waiting. It felt like an unnecessary inconvenience. These criticisms are relatively minor in the context of what was otherwise a very enjoyable stay. The location is superb, the food is among the best we have experienced at an All Inclusive resort, the hotel is immaculately clean and the staff—particularly those in the restaurants and bars—were excellent. With a little more attention to guest experience at reception, this hotel could easily become truly exceptional. We would happily return.

Breakfast options very good. Cleanliness including room cleaning and pool areas quiet and peaceful.
Having visited this hotel 7 times over the years, we know its a great choice. We have visited many other countries and hotels, but we keep coming back to the Iberostar in Lagos given its fantastic location, great beaches, super staff, vibrant town and modern hotel. The bedrooms are spacious - and there is a great choice - from sea views, pool views, Bali bed rooms and rooms with private pools. The choice of food is amazing and overall great quality - with themed meal nights there really is something for eveyone - including a special kids corner. Other benefits are the indoor pool and gym, spa, 2 outdoor pools, plenty of sun loungers, and great pool bars x 2. Staff are very helpful and friendly - special mentions to Kamrin and Uda - who have become firm family favourites for their warm welcome, and Anna on reception. Highly recommend this hotel - my whole family love the place - we will be back next year!
This was our third stay at this hotel, and once again it exceeded all our expectations. We can’t speak highly enough of it. The staff are exceptional, the rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the entertainment is fantastic. Everything about our stay was perfect. A special mention goes to Francesco, the AGM, who made our stay even more memorable with his professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. He truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough and are already looking forward to our next visit!
Staff and location amazing. Beach was great and close to town an uber worked great. Food was ok, lacked any local flavors. Bed was a firm as a rock. We asked for a top which helped but still overly firm. We had a room with a pool which was very nice, but for the cost the room was a extra large ordinary room, nothing fancy. I would say definitely overpriced and we don't mind spending the extra. Entertainment ok. Drinks were great and good selection.
The bed was way too firm. Felt like laying on a piece of plywood. Food was ok.
Spacious and nicely decorated rooms. The best rainfall shower I've had in a hotel. Fantastic staff. Good selection of high quality breakfast foods and good tapas at the snack bar. Entertainment team put on activities, like wine tasting, live music and traditional dancing which I'm not normally a fan of but did enjoy and were a nice surprise. Pool and sunbeds great. Location is good, quiet and out of the way, only a short stroll to a nice beach, and Uber into Lagos town was only 5 euros.
Had an 11 night stay here. It all looked nice and welcoming - reception area was light and airy with plenty of seating and open doors leaving to a large outdoor terrace and seating area. At check in we were immediately offered a glass of sparkling wine - bottles on ice behind the reception desk - or water and asked to take a seat. My husband and a concierge unloaded our suitcases who then brought in our luggage and drove our car to the underground garage. Claudia, receptionist, came over to check us in. Diamond recognised and I chose points as we are on All Inclusive. We were given an upgrade to a pool view room and (because we were staying more than 7 nights) a voucher for a complimentary dinner at the à la carte restaurant- which is fully chargeable even on AI. Once checked in we were shown to our room. It was clean and a good size with two armchairs and a coffee table plus an additional table and chairs on the balcony. There was a coffee maker but no kettle nor milk. The minibar had soft drinks, small jar of almonds, small jar of gummi bears 😊, 2 beers, 200ml bottle of port and 200ml bottle of Prosecco. These were replenished once daily. One day we asked to swap the beer or the port for a second bottle or Prosecco but no, it’s one per room per day. The bathroom. Where to start? There is one door for the toilet (plus bidet) and shower. Think Holiday Inn Express, but this door is mirrored on both sides! The rest of the ‘bathroom’ is open plan. This is the same layout for ALL bathrooms, even in the family rooms. Some days you got flannels and some you didn’t. 2 bathrobes were provided but no slippers. All mirrors are tinted brown - even the mirror wall that is inside the shower - as well as the door if you close it. Lighting is also very poor in the ‘bathroom’ with warm lights agsinst the tinted mirrors. Shower was a good size but we did ask for a bath mat as the floor was quite slippery. There’s a rain shower plus a hand held shower head which could only be positioned at waist height. Water pressure wasn’t great. The buffet restaurant was very good with a varied selection of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast chef cooked omelettes, fried and poached eggs to order. Cold meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit, pastries, bacon, sausages etc. Lunch and dinner both had hot and cold self serve buffet items with a mix of meat and fish / seafood dishes and always 2 different fish and two meat options cooked to order. Different paellas at each meal with vegetables, rice, potatoes and a great salad selection. There was also a vegan section at each meal. Ice creams, fruit, cakes and pastries were always available. Big shout out to chef Shalini who was really friendly and helpful. The à la carte restaurant, Medronho, doubles up as the snack bar during the day for lunch and snacks. On AI you can choose certain snack bar menu items, not all, but we felt the food was far better in the buffet so didn’t eat there. In the evenings they showcase Portuguese food (menu looked good) so Reception booked us a table to use our voucher. We arrived full of anticipation only to be presented with the ’voucher menu’ which comprised two starters, 3 mains and one dessert - not quite the à la carte menu we thought we were getting. We decided to head up to the buffet instead. Mentioned to Reception that if they’re trying to encourage guests to use the à la carte restaurant- and subsequently spend money there - then they should let you try the actual menu for your ‘free meal’ but they weren’t really interested. Evening entertainment was in the main lobby area and was mixed. A couple of nights there were groups of singers who were excellent as well as the magician. Portuguese folklore dancers were amazing. Karaoke wasn’t great and the rest of it was mediocre. As the World Cup was on they had a big board in the lobby keeping track of the matches and scores. The conference room was set up with a big screen where they showed the matches and there was a ‘guess the score’ competition for each match. There was an indoor pool, spa and gym none of which we used. The Star Camp kids’ club is on the lower level by the children’s pool. There is also a dedicated children’s room in the lobby with a mini slide, games, cot and changing table. The lifts were an experience. There were two lifts which took you to the bedroom floors, garage and reception (on the 4th floor but ground level at the entrance). To get to the restaurant you had to go from your room to floor 4 then walk 100yds to another lift which went down to the buffet restaurant on floor 3, snack bar on 2 (then up outside steps to the main pool) or kids pool on 1. Very confusing. There were shiny white marble looking steps from reception to the buffet but having watched a gentleman have a nasty fall on our first day we used the lift instead. All staff members that we met were friendly and helpful but a special mention to Jacqueline in the lobby bar, Francine in the buffet restaurant and chef Shalini. We do like Iberostar for a lazy All Inclusive holiday and would definitely return if we came back to the Algarve.
Fabulous hotel from arrival to departure could not fault. Staff always smiling and attentive especially Sergio, Eduardo, Paula,Natasha and Marcus to name just a few. Very relaxed vibe - breakfast very good. We highly recommend and hope to return soon!
Just stayed for 4 nights and could not recommend this hotel enough! All staff were absolutely lovely from when we arrived to when we left The entertainment in the evenings was great I would say it is the best entertainment we have ever had in an hotel , you had live singers to traditional Portuguese dancers. Our rooms were cleaned daily and sometimes twice a day! With fresh bath and pool towels everyday, you even recieved a notification that your room has been cleaned if you download the app. The rooms were also the perfect size and we were lucky enough to have a sea view too The food was lovely, we enjoyed our meals every day and we definitely say this is the best food we have had in and inclusive along with a variety of all different foods that suit everyone , we did originally book half board but changed to all inclusive when we arrived which we 100% recommend as you have a wide choice in drinks and lunch throughout the day. The hotel is in a great location , just on the beach with a lovely walk into Lagos , we did this one night along the beach front , there is also a lot on options of easy transport on the door step of the hotel We honestly don’t have a bad thing to say about the hotel , the only thing we regret is not booking for longer ! I cannot thank the hotel enough and to all the staff who make the experience and all work so hard , we will definitely be planning a trip to come back ! Thankyou everyone at iberostar Lagos for making our holiday perfect
Had a lovely relaxed stay with a group of 6 adults. We couldn’t fault the food, such great variety through 7 nights we stayed. Staff were all really helpful friendly. Lovely room. We had a standard garden view that had a view of the gardens on the side of the hotel and the sea. We were offered an upgrade deal, but turned it down and didn’t regret it. We were informed by Jet2 regarding building works that were being carried out close to the hotel, late last year. We were obviously quite apprehensive with this but decided to stick with the booking. We don’t regret thisdecision what so ever. There is a building site next door with tower cranes, but I can’t honestly say we did not hear any noise from it what so ever. Due to the design of the hotel you can only see the cranes if you are at the lower pool. Main pool area, you may see a glimpse of a crane over the top of the hotel occasionally. (This is one of the reasons for my review, to reassure anyone who is concerned about the building works) As other reviews have said, easy transport into Lagos or a 1/2 hour walk. We really can’t fault this hotel. I would stay here again at a drop of a hat.
Sergio and Claudia were amazing
If I could do more than 5 I would 100% unfortunately with only 2 days left I can say this has been the best experience I’ve had. For starters the rooms are unbelievable can’t go wrong there at all. The staff are amazing from the barn staff to the reception we have been greeted everyday with happiness. Whenever there is help needed you get it no matter what. This is a hotel made for family, friends, couples and even alone I would recommend this to everyone. At first I thought this was very expensive for just a hotel but I came to realise that this is a hotel that gives you memories you will never forget and I will be back here next year 100% thank you to the staff for making our stay out of this world
What a fabulous holiday. The hotel was ideally suited for us; out of the hubbub of Lagos town it was a tranquil and peaceful haven. Saying that access to Lagos was easy whether it be by the extensive boardwalks across the dunes if you wanted to walk and exercise, or the ‘hop on hop off’ train which stops outside of the hotel which was a fun and convenient alternative. The rooms are of a very high standard and immaculate. The servicing of the room was without fault and receiving a message on the app to let you know when the room had been serviced was very helpful. We thought the water stations on the corridors were a really good eco friendly idea encouraging guests to reuse water bottles. There is an activities programme which you can get involved in ranging from yoga, aqua fit, wine tasting, food and arts and crafts. Unlike many hotels we have stayed at these were not intrusive for other guests as they were held at times and in areas which didn’t have much impact on others. This led to a very relaxed atmosphere where noise levels were kept to a minimum. Even the background music at the main pool had a chilled vibe. Food is a very important aspect of our holidays and is perhaps one of the main factors of which hotel we choose. Here there was something for everyone with a great choice of breads, charcuterie, cheeses, FRESH salads, fruit, vegetables and cooked dishes. Desserts and cakes are to die for!! At breakfast eggs are cooked to your liking and at lunchtime and dinner there are 2 choices of fish and meats which are freshly cooked to your taste with various sauces you can choose from. I really enjoyed the lemon butter sauce with the fish. ALL the staff whether it be cleaning ( they never stop! ), restaurants, entertainment or bar are second to none: welcoming, friendly and keen to please. The young management team are enthusiastic, dynamic and regularly ask for feedback as they make every effort to improve in order to make your holiday or visit memorable for all the right reasons. Having recently stayed at much more expensive 5* resorts we think Iberostar Lagos is great value for money but then again that’s subjective. Thank you team for all you’ve done to make our stay fabulous. As Arnie said “ We’ll be back”
Wszystko super. Jak w całej sieci Iberostar
Nic
We had an excellent one week stay. The hotel and our room was very comfortable, the buffet food was fine with some excellent Portuguese wine on offer. We had super sea views. I walked on the raised boardwalk over the dunes daily, next to the sea. What made the stay "excellent" were the staff, helpful from start to finish generating a real sense of welcome. This extends from front desk to concierge services to room staff and absolutely to the Maitre D and dinning room team.
For a relaxing 5 nights in the Algarve, Iberostar was perfect. My partner and I opted for bed and breakfast which meant we enjoyed the fantastic breakfast buffet at the hotel as well as being able to venture over the boardwalk (approx 40 mins) into the Lagos old town for evening meals. The rooms were beautifully clean, the pool was lovely and never too busy or loud, and the staff could not have been more kind and attentive. Sergio and Uda in particular were extremely friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway in the Algarve, this is the perfect spot!
Beautiful hotel. I am very picky when it comes to quality and comfort and this hotel did not dissapoint. The staff were excellent, the food was fantastic and the room was super clean, and plenty of space. The priority sea view room was stunning. And the beach was very clean and only a 7 minute walk. I recommend going all inclusive if you can so you can fully immerse yourself with the experience.
Tudo!!! Hotel lindo, super bem localizado, equipe super acolhedora, atenciosa e solicita!
We loved this resort! The atmosphere was quiet, yet there were fun low key activities every afternoon and the evening entertainment was exceptional. Especially the Motown tribute group and the Fado and Folk Dance groups. The Star Friends team (Christiana, Sophia & Katerina) were fantastic: professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and fun). The room was spacious, clean, and had a nice balcony with a pool view. Guest occupancy was high, yet there were plenty of cabanas and loungers available. We paid for the half board (breakfast and dinner) and the selection and quality of food was excellent. The reception team was efficient, courteous, and professional. Emanuel stands out among the team. It is a 20-30 minute walk to Lagos, a 10 minute walk to the beach, and a 10-15 minute walk from the Meia Praia train station, which is basically a shelter and a platform. Warning - Be prepared to pay extremely high prices in downtown Lago and at the Marina. I would highly recommend this property.
The food was great, both breakfast and lunch. We enjoyed the bar services as a group. The rooms were beautiful, as was the view.
I did not get my da nata when I checked out and my friends did.
We had the most amazing time in Iberostar Lagos, stayed on the 6th floor with sea view & wow what a view. We never go full board preferring to sample to local restaurants but this was the first time we actually contemplated doing it as the hotel really was just so relaxing. All the staff were so helpful & friendly but special shout out to Claudia at reception. Already planning our next trip 😊

Visas personalas paslaugus. Kasdien vyksta įvairus užsiemimai, nemokamai daro masažą, vaišina sangrija, vakarais programa su muzika. Kambario patogumas puikus.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed here for our honeymoon and the staff left us a bottle of prosecco and chocolates in our room which was so nice of them! The nightly entertainment was also very good especially the Motown act on Thursday night.
Nothing
I stayed her two years ago for the first time. Great experience. This time, not so much. Pulled up in my car around 12 15. No one to help me with the luggage. Front desk was more interested in selling me an upgraded room for another 103 euro a night. Was then told check in was at three and they would text me when it was ready. We sat down in the lobby and then was offered water/sparkling wine. Last time the second I tried to check in they wisked me to a check in the lobby and did the check in right there and offered us water immediately. I received a text at 2:35 that my room was ready. Good thing we left after 15 minutes and had lunch in town. A 5 star hotel would have called housekeeping to ascertain an app. time the room would be ready. Management should be aware that this is not a HOLIDAY INN!!!!!!!! Breakfast staff were plentiful but the first two days we ate inside and none asked us if we wanted coffee /tea. The third day we ate outside and was immediately asked if we wanted coffee or tea. I guess the key is to eat outside. The Buffet breakfast is one of the best I have had anywhere. This is a beautiful hotel The vast majority of our stay was excellent.
Top Lage, Strand nah, sehr kinderfreundlich und liebevolles Personal. Alles sehr sauber gehalten.
My stay at Iberostar in Lagos, Portugal was genuinely fantastic from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully designed, modern, and impeccably clean, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind right away. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and professional, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a comfortable stay. The rooms were spacious, quiet, and very well equipped, with comfortable beds and a lovely balcony to enjoy the sunset. Overall, Iberostar Lagos is a perfect choice whether you’re looking for a relaxing beach holiday or a comfortable base to explore the Algarve. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Ótimos caras. Obrigado.
Love this hotel, staff always very helpful they gave us free upgrade to sea view. Nice bar area with views out to sea, great pool good size and lots of space around. Close to beach just need to walk over the road
Direction signs within hotel bit confusing easy to go wrong way inside. It’s a bit far to walk into Lagos for evening and only a few beach restaurants nearby
Rien. Il n’y a vraiment rien à dire.
My wife and I spent a week at this hotel and I cannot fault it in any way. The staff are very attentive, the food is superb, you don't often get Lobster on the buffet! All drinks are premium brands and generously served. The rooms are lovely and serviced daily, ample sunbeds are available around a great pool. Some English teabags would have been nice, but nobody is perfect!
Amazing hotel and perfect service from hassan who went above and beyond for us! Hope to see him when we return next year!
Excelente.
Do jantar, self- service
Leuke vakantie Heel goede service Thans to Uday, Edwards Sergio and Natasha from the poolba
The property was wonderful! Beautifully maintained and immaculate. Breakfast buffet was awesome with so much variety and quality items. The rooms are spacious and as advertised. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Nice to be outside the city and so close to the beach and beach boardwalks.
Would be nice to have some additional options for dinner rather than the buffet and the limited selection in the small snack bar. Buffet was 47 Euros per person which was quite a bit if you were wanting a light meal.
Cleanliness, staff, food, everything
No electric vehicle chargers and now charging €7.50 per night for parking at a hotel to which you kinda have to have a car to stay at is a bit mad in 2026
