Sehr freundliches Personal. Der Taxiruf morgens um 6 Uhr klappte reibungslos. Die Lage zum Flughafen ist perfekt wenn der Flug am nächsten Tag sehr früh geht. Natürlich gehen die Flieger direkt über das Hotel und es ist draußen laut. Aber bei geschlossenen Fenster hört man kaum etwas.

Wir haben das Hotel etliche Jahre wegen der günstigen Lage zum Flughafen gebucht. Durch sinnvolle Investitionen ist das Haus zu einem Schmuckstück geworden; die geräumigen (Dreibett-) Zimmer bieten viel Ablagefläche und sind hell möbliert. Das Bad bietet großzügig Raum und ist modern ausgestattet.. Am Abend lieferten die Rezeption und das Restaurantpersonal eine Charmeoffensive. Da wir einen Abendflug hatten, durften wir die Annehmlichkeiten des Hauses (Gepäckaufbewahrung, Parkplatz, sauberer Pool mit Außendusche) noch den ganzen Tag nach dem Auschecken nutzen.

Gegenüber diesen höchst positiven Eindrücken fiel das Frühstück in den Punkten Freundlichkeit des Service, Sauberkeit und Angebot (kein frisches Brot, kein Honig) ein wenig ab. Für einen perfekten, speziell einen längeren Aufenthalt würden bessere Trockenmöglichkeiten auf dem kleinen Balkon sowie Insektenschutz-Fenster den Komfort optimieren.

Alojamiento perfecto para hacer una noche según llegas tarde de un vuelo o cuando a la mañana siguiente tienes que coger uno pronto.

En las fotos parece que el alojamiento está más actualizado de lo que realmente está después, pero como nos ha pasado en todos los alojamientos de Creta en los que hemos estado. Las camas y las almohadas no eran muy cómodas.

Het hotel lag vlakbij het vliegveld. Dit was handig voor de eerste dag.

Het geluid van de opstijgende vliegtuigen. Maar dan is logisch en kan ook niet anders.

The price is reasonable.

The main reason for us to book this hotel was the parking on site but rarely you could find it free. Constant noise of airplanes, the humidity of the room...Also the cups and cutlery were most of the time dirty and when I asked the staff didn't pay attention to it, I could see the stain of lipstick on the cup!

Situé à 20 minutes à pied de l'aéroport, silencieux, très confortable et propre avec un personnel très agréable. Je recommande cet hôtel avec l'auberge des 3 mûriers au bout de la rue c'est pratique

Apsistojome vienai nakčiai, kad galėtume nueiti į rytinį skrydį, buvo super, apie 20 min, nors ir tempėmės lagaminus, buvome vietoj, jei grįšime į Kretą, mielai vienai nakčiai likčiau vėl, labai malonūs darbuotojai registratūroje :)

Viešbutis senokas, kambarys buvo kitoks ir senesnis, nei nuotraukose, bet viskas tikrai švaru ir norintiems miegoti kur galėsite ryte patys nueiti į oro uostą, rekomenduoju :)

Die Nähe zum Flughafen war ausschlaggebend für die Buchung. Personal war freundlich, das Frühstück einfach aber absolut ausreichend.

Es gab eine Kofferwaage in der Lobby, leider musste man dafür 1,00 Euro bezahlen pro Gepäckstück. Das sollte eigentlich im Zimmerpreis enthalten sein. Und wie bei den meisten Hotels: leider nur ausländische Musik :(

Conviendrait également pour un court séjour pour visiter la ville et ses environs. L'hôtel zqt facilement accessible en voiture et bien désservi par les bus pour le centre ville.

Wir haben zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht und waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Die Lage in der Nähe des Flughafens war für uns besonders praktisch. Unser Zimmer war ausreichend groß, sauber und gemütlich. Das Personal war durchweg sehr freundlich und nett. Besonders gut gefallen hat uns der schöne Pool – mitten in der Stadt ist das wirklich praktisch und eine tolle Möglichkeit, sich zwischendurch zu entspannen. Auch die vorhandenen Parkplätze waren für uns ein großer Pluspunkt, gerade wenn man mit dem Mietwagen unterwegs ist. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und für einen kurzen Aufenthalt völlig in Ordnung.

Heraklion selbst hat uns persönlich nicht so gut gefallen und wir würden die Stadt nicht unbedingt als Highlight unserer Kreta-Reise bezeichnen. Am Hotel selbst hatten wir aber wenig auszusetzen.

The best thing about the hotel is to find a delightful hotel just 4 minutes from the airport. There is a 24-hour desk for late arrivals and the bed was very comfortable with high quality bedding. The breakfast buffet was fine and easy to navigate. The staff were very helpful, refilling frequently and there is indoor and outdoor seating for an enjoyable morning.

It was pretty much perfect except that the car park was full of badly parked cars so we couldn't get in. We had to park on the adjacent street.

Location to airport is great plenty of taxis waiting. €15 taxi ride to Hotel Sofia. We arrived very late but were met by a very friendly receptionist . Room just right for a stay over. Lovely breakfast, lots of choice . The receptionist ordered us a taxi to Monsa car rentals €10 just down the road. Then off we went on our holidays. Perfect start.

Perfekte Lage für späte Ankunft oder frühen Rückflug.Mit dem Auto 5 Min.zum Flughafen und für Frühabreiser gibt es ab 6 Uhr ein kontinentales Frühstück. Sehr freundliches Personal beim checkin/ checkout und an der Bar. Natürlich hört man den Flugverkehr wenn man 5 Min.vom Flughafen entfernt ist aber die Fenster dämmen den Fluglärm sehr gut. Die Auswahl der " Bar meals " ist gut und die Burger sehr lecker und üppig, das Personal an der Bar sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir waren das 2.Mal vor frühem Rückflug hier und werden auch nächstes Jahr wieder das Sofia buchen.

Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Schön wäre ein Wasserkocher/ Tee,Kaffee Tablett im Zimmer. Wenn Frau ganz kritisch ist, könnte man das extrem kurze starre Kabel des Haartrockners bemängeln - Frau die mit links den Trockner hält und mit rechts die Bürste, braucht Kraft in den Armen 😉

We hebben een heel aangenaam verblijf gehad in het Sofia Hotel. De kamer was zeer proper en de bedden waren uitstekend. Het ontbijt was lekker en het zwembad was een leuke extra. Ook de gratis parkeergelegenheid vonden we erg handig. Een fijne plek om te verblijven en zeker een aanrader!

Is it close to the airport? Yes, 5 min drive. Does it have a pool? Yes. That’s about it in terms of what I liked. It’s a pretty standard hotel near the airport which is convenient if you have early flights.

The airplanes are extremely loud and makes trying to relax by the pool very hard. The beds are very hard and not super comfortable.

The hotel is very close to the airport and has its own free parking. We took a taxi to go to the city center (8 Euro) and the bus number 1 from Kornarou Square to come back. Staff was very friendly. We had a drink by the pool in the evening, that was a nice way to wind down.

A bit far from city center, but it was fine for one night.

Staff was absolutely excellent, rooms were quite nice as well, the shower on the family room was very nice, the location is quite good and an easy bus ride to the city centre or to a nearby beach.

I wish the pool closed later, and some of the beds were a little uncomfortable to lay down on because they were quite hard, other than that, no more complaints.

There is a lot of noise from the airport. The room had seen better days. The bathroom had some spots that could use some cleaning/touching up. The breakfast was poor for my liking, with coffee and juice from a vending. However the eggs and some pastries were fresh.

Just next to the airport. Our flight arrived at 1:00 in the morning, we took a taxi (5 min, 15 Euro). Check in was easy and we fell into bed. The next morning my husband walked to the airport (15-20 min) to get the rental car. He was able to park in the hotel parking. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. It was just what we needed for one night. It was also easy to get onto the road going south, without having to drive through Heraklion.

Tra i servizi su booking è presente il parcheggio, ma è molto piccolo. Quindi se è pieno si deve parcheggiare in strada, e non è semplice. Noi avevamo un'auto piccola e siamo riusciti ad incastrarla davanti a una pianta, ma abbiamo rischiato di dover girare per trovare in strada.

We were 2 guests who arrived at the hotel on 2am Sunday/Monday morning, 29th August 2026. We would like to express our gratitude and sincere thanks to their Night Reception/Manager, Giannis, who attended to us. Not only did Giannis help to clarify the confusion about our booking dates, he also helped us secure a prominent parking position for our car, in the event that there were no designated parking places available. But most advantageous of all was the fact that Giannis helped provide a room for us, in the event the hotel was fully booked for all twin-bedded rooms. However, the highlight of our slight misadventure must surely be the generous provision of raki in our room, which undoubtedly helped us have a relaxed and comfortable night's sleep. Giannis also kindly arranged the provision of breakfast for us the following morning, given that we originally did not have breakfast included. Although we had to leave without breakfast, due to work commitments, we are thankful for the offer. For all of the above, we sincerely thank Giannis, who conducted the whole process with professionalism and a sense of humour. In sum, for us, it encapsulated the best of Greek hospitality - and especially, a warm Cretan welcome. Although we have been guests of Hotel Sofia for nearly 20 years, we find that the establishment improves even more over time. So, we very much look forward to staying again next time, and with good fortune, meeting Giannis again- and to whom, we wish to pass on our 'euxgaristo para poli. Arista'! L'hote d'accueil était désagréable. Il était énervé car on lui demandait comment fonctionnait la climatisation (fonctionnement particulier) L'établissement est bruyant, non seulement par les avions qui passent toutes les 5 mn, mais aussi à cause des chariots de ménage qui passent tôt le matin. Les oreillers sont inconfortables, il n'y a qu'un drap plié.

Super Lage, zweckmässige Einrichtung und ein kleines, aber feines Frühstück. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal. Wir haben direkt über das Hotel ein Mietauto organisiert – das hat super geklappt! Innerhalb von nur 45 Minuten war das Auto bereits da und startbereit. Ein wirklich unkomplizierter und angenehmer Aufenthalt – gerne wieder!

Für uns war das Hotel etwas hellhörig – ansonsten gibt es nichts zu beanstanden.
