Size of room and view with balcony

Very quiet with few/ no other guests. Quite remote.

Casa meravigliosa dotata di ogni comfort Villaggio bellissimo. Davvero consigliata

The Spa services were odd in their communications

O QUARTO ERA ENORME E A ROUPA DE CAMA ERA BOA. A VISTA DO MEU QUARTO (C1) ERA LINDA. O CAFE DA MANHÃ FOI REGULAR. A LOCALIZAÇÃO ERA BOA. O PREÇO COBRADO REPRESENTOU UMA MUITO BOA RELAÇÃO CUSTYO BENEFÍCIO.

A INTERNET ERA MUITO RUIM. E O PESSOAL DO HOTEL ESQUECEU DE LIMPAR O MEU QUARTO NO SEGUNDO DIA.

Enjoying good wine in front of the fireplace and unwinding was exactly what I needed.

High quality spot, the development is quite nice and the rooms, based on our room, are high spec and very comfortable. Also, breakfast (although it is a paid for breakfast) was super good as well. And finally all the staff were nice and quite helpful.

Can't really complain about anything - everything was a class act. Just worth noting this place is less Airbnb style and more like a traditional hotel, with check-in, security deposits and they inspect the room after you leave. Just FYI

Spacious with incredible views lovely spacious bathroom

Absolutely nothing

I would have given it a better score however this was the second time I had issues at check in. Staff most inefficient with emails as a result the booking I made directly with them for the first night could not be found I was rescued by a screenshot I took after making the payment…which I did due to inefficiencies I experienced prior when I was checked into an unclean unit with cat food and food int the fridge with someone’s clothes in the wardrobes. Both these occasions have left a bitter taste in my mouth…A SHAME REALLY FOR SUCH A GREAT ESTABLISHMENT. The front office staff/admin is utterly useless …after an hour drive…last thing you want is experiencing issues at check in TWO TIMES IN A ROW….after a chain of emails that went unanswered.

L’emplacement La quiétude du lieu

Lack of parking, lots of construction.

Beautiful comfy rooms - fully equipped

Nothing

We sat in the garden with our little dog over looking the stunning view of the mountains and had a delicious.

We stayed in the family suites. Generous en suites, scenic mountain view, pool.

Some of the equipment - built in elements need attention/ is dated.

Super charmoso e confortavel. Bem equipado

Nada relevante

Location is perfect for a quite but very scenic location.

The assessment of the electrical and room condition before guests arrive. The lights were not all in working order, and it took a few attempts to get this partially resolved. We still really enjoyed our stay, but proactive checking from the staff is mandatory to enable a great experience.

Everything...Will visit again and again

Gorgeous decor, very comfortable rooms each with own en suite bathroom, in a tranquil location with beautiful views from the living area.

Nothing! No complaints

The staff at the property was absolutely excellent and we really enjoyed our stay

The staff were next level....super friendly and always willing to help. The room was spacious and clean.

My only issue is I would love to have a door on the bathroom....have never understood the reasoning for this.

Stayed here a few times, love the location and staff always 100% on point.

This stay I was a bit disappointed in a few things, villa was not stocked with all items for a self catering unit, no extra blankets that is always available in the villas esp with our cold winters, housekeeping never left shower mats after removing used ones which was inconvenient with wet floors and hot water ran cold in the showers throughout the stay. Also stayed here a month ago and for the same price this villa was much smaller, no baths only showers which felt like I was getting less for the same price.

Fantastic place. The kitchen however was a bit of a disappointment when 2 / 2 puddings were off. Rest was lovely.

Everything

Our coffee machine broke but the reception helped out with nice coffee and the place is absolutely brilliant

The room was spacious, well appointed, tastefully decorated with lake and mountain views.

The cellphone charging points didn't work

We had a two bed villa and a studio for our family, both were beautiful, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The setting is very picturesque and it’s a 10 min walk to the centre of Franschhoek. The food on the restaurant was excellent and good value. Lastly the staff couldn’t do enough to help you. We had a great stay.

Clean and central

Paying a deposit in case of breakages

Amazing view, quality furnishing, well equiped, good staff.

The lounge suite can be more comfortable, also location is not walking distance from town (for nights).

The villa itself is really nice and the kitchen is well equipped. Even though simple things like kitchen towels to dry hands is ommitted. We had a seemingly impressive garage allocated to the villa, which was a nice touch. Even though we never received the remote for it. The location is amazing — it's walking distance to Franschhoek, so you can take a stroll into town, which is a definite plus. Being able to wander into this beautiful town is something we really appreciated. The dinner restaurant food is really good, and I had one of the best sirloin steaks I've had in a while. The service is not great for an empty restaurant but the dinner food served make up for this. There is also an à la carte breakfast menu, and the waiter was quick to correct an order that wasn't right, which was appreciated. The staff are really nice and friendly. They try to do the correct things and are eager to help throughout the stay. Despite some shortcomings and definite training issues, there is a genuine warmth about the place and the people in it. We really enjoyed ourselves overall and had a good time, and others will too. This is a seemingly negative review in places, but it's really a case of missed opportunities. L'Ermitage Franschhoek Château and Villas doesn't intend to give off a "low-end holiday resort" vibe that it does, and with just a few obvious details attended to it could be truly great.

The checkout process is very lengthy and reminiscent of a cheap seaside holiday resort , you must call reception so someone can come and count every item in the villa. This gives the impression they're more worried about their spoons and bowls than the actual experience. Allow at least 20 minutes before heading to check-out. You're also charged a deposit and this process is necessary to get that back. The villa, while nice, misses the mark on the full luxury experience. The lounge literally has a clothes dryer, ironing board and iron on the floor, apparently a feature, as staff mention it immediately on arrival. The kitchen has no towels, which you're reminded of every time you have to go upstairs to dry your hands. Simple details like kitchen counters are not usable as there's no chairs for them. The garage door remote was never provided despite multiple requests and notes left with management. There is no reception parking either, making arrival and departure awkward. Staff training throughout is a clear issue throughout. At dinner, we received a Sauvignon Blanc when ordering Cabernet Sauvignon, and banana milkshakes instead of vanilla. Some staff were not in uniform, making it difficult to identify who works there, and there is no visible management. A definite level of professionalism missing here when compared to other hotels and restaurants in the area. The breakfast buffet was mostly crumbs and the items "at the back" are not on display to make an actual informed buffer choice., The eggs Benedict were overcooked, though the waiter did correct this. Both dinner and breakfast meals were only "ok", we only went once for each, and you can definitely get a better experience in town. Perhaps the answer to "why the restaurant is so empty." Presented as luxury, the experience feels more like a low-end holiday resort. A few obvious details attended to and it could be great.

The villas are spacious and well equipped with very good views. Facilities are modern and clean aside from a few details that needed to be checked. The staff really were great and made a huge effort across the board.

Unfortunately the rooms for me were a bit of disappointment. I had booked a 2 bedroom for my sister and me. One room was huge with a king bed and pyjama lounge, while the other was tiny with twin beds. Not great for 2 adults travelling alone and different to the pictures. I was expecting 2 equal rooms and booked very far in advance. The lounge carpet was also wet when we arrived, which had created a smell. The staff did remove the carpet immediately on request. The restaurant needs some love. The food was a 5 for us sadly, and I would not eat there again. When we requested olive oil for our salad as we didn’t like the dressing, there was none in the whole restaurant which was strange.

view and room

Friendly staff, they really went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The villa was neat as a pin. Will definately reccomend them.

Thank you for accommodating me being disabled. I have Multiple Sclerosis so use a 3-wheeled walker and cannot climb more than 1 or 2 stairs . I forgot to tell you this in advance. Your manager was wonderful when i told him of my trouble and he switched my villa 71 to villa 1 immediately . THANK YOU !!

ALL perfect

Lovely views, very tastefully decorated, well equipped

Parking for 2nd car difficult 4 flights of stairs and no lift problematic for one of our party with walking difficulties.

The bath

Our "mountain view" was a view of the parking lot.

Thank you for the excellent service and hospitality. Friendly, helpful staff. Service with a smile.

views and space inside the apartment were outstanding!

if the coffee machine didn't stop working mid stay. the reception lady did get us some coffee from the restaurant to make us feel better. She was super!

What a beautiful place! It was clean. All the amenities in working order and a lovely peaceful environment. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Little bit of construction happening but it didn't worry us. We were clearly informed about the construction as well.

Location was good Size of unit was good All required utensils, appliances was provided The mountain view from the villa Staff are friendly

The headboard was full of dust, The shower had black mould on the inside of the glass door, The air-conditioning unit in the room made a massive noise when operating which was a problem when wanting to sleep, The Dstv stopped working and although being told that maintenance in onsite and would be sent to assist, eventually the porter arrived because maintenance could not be found and the porter had to video call a staff member to try and assist but in vain. The outside wooden furniture needs some urgent maintenance because it is completely weather worn. The cupboard in the main bedroom had a dirty sock left behind from a previous guest.

Location and views from our room were amazing

Ongoing construction from early in the morning until the afternoon was deafening. Bedding and towels didn’t smell clean.

Staff was helpful with getting a cot

N/A

Well furnished

Double check which rooms you get as not all rooms are the same.

Location and villa facilities and style.

Well-located hotel. Comfortable bedding. It accepts pets and prepares a bed for them, which is nice.

Room directly facing the hotel lobby with extremely noisy staff. Outdated room that would benefit from refurbishment. Very average breakfast.

Tolle Unterkunft mit schöner Ausstattung

View from the room was spectacular. The rooms were quite large. The staff were very responsive,

Nothing in particular. Minor point - The problem with the chandelier was sorted immediately.

The views are beautiful

The construction outside our windows, noise and dust. No one mentioned this was happening. Parking was so far from the apartment and had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs.

Clean and staff were brilliant

Swimming pool could have more sun lounges but was fine for us

Beautiful

Tranquility

Great location and beautiful surroundings.

Housekeeping services were very odd - we’d be out all day and they wouldn’t have passed through. And then knock on the door at 8:45/9 PM.

Beautiful location and views

Bit overpriced for what you get and some of the rooms need a but of upgrading. We also did not have parking allocated to our villas

Fantastic location Spotless Spacious Very well equipped

Nothing

The estate is pretty and each unit is well appointed.

Our particular was not throughly clean. There was hair in the bath, in the bed and pillow.

Beautiful setting on the lake

Beautiful setting just outside of town. The grounds are very well kept and staff is very friendly.

The pool wasn’t heated but that is about the only thing to say something about. I don’t think any pools are heated in Cape Town area.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and environment

More options at the restaurant

Stunning place, amazing views , loved our stay! wish we had planned another night.

Nothing bad to say

Es war alles bestens. Sehr großzügig, sauber mit riesiger Terrasse. Freundliches Personal, schöne Anlage. Es hat alles soweit gepasst.

Das Frühstück hätte besser sein können. Für diese Anlage.

Beautiful!

Lovely quiet location with Mountain View’s

It’s a little old and dated; the rooms and decor are tired a little shabby

Large, very comfortable appartment, with good quality interior, proper kitchen, nice bathrooms

Unfinished building site covers the back half of the site. Over developed site so views from some appartments are poor, very patchy service from staff, somewhat neglected, e.g. view from bedroom spoiled by blown double glazing unit that hadn't been replaced.

It is a beautiful property

No mountain view as mentioned in booking information. No wifi. Building new villas opposite us with no mention of the building works or disruption. No water one of the days. Hot water system malfunctioned. No housekeeping on first day. None of these were communicated to us.

The look and feel Cleanliness

Nothing

Lovely.

Everything

Construction

There was nothing to be liked about my stay, as I was allocated a room that did not accord with the description provided on the booking site. When I pointed this out to the staff I could not be assisted.

Being offered 2 free breakfasts for being allocated a room I had not really booked for according to the description on the booking site. The invasive pre-check out experience.

Staff are friendly. Premises are attractive and the room was very comfotable.

The location of Room C2 is at the main entrance and can be very noisy, especially when staff arrive at 06:00 in the morning.

Beautiful and stylish . The food is very good as well

Nothing

Sehr schwach !! Überall Baustelle !

Everything for me was good the staff breakfast was good, the rooms are cleaned every day and the view was splendid

Nice room

No bottled water No face cloth

All perfect and new.

The rooms themself were decent in size and relatively comfortable

The service was appalling, my room was never made, towels never replaced (and on arrival one towel Was covered in make up). Coming home late there was no staff around, the entrance to the villas was pitch black needed to use my phone torch the first night to get from where my uber dropped me to the room (as there was no security or golf carts around). There is no signage to see which rooms are where and they are not in order so it makes zero sense.
