Reviewed Sep 4, 2026Adorei o conceito antigo e histórico do hotel. O pequeno-almoço é bastante variado e os funcionários são muito prestáveis. Gostámos especialmente da piscina que tem vista para o castelo e da acessibilidade do hotel ao centro da vila. É uma estadia a repetir, sem dúvida.
O chuveiro tem pouca pressão.

No nos resultó muy cómoda la cama, porque al ser una habitación caracterizada de época medieval, con suelo de madera, con el más mínimo movimiento hace bastante ruido

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026Het ontbijt was zeer goed en de locatie is net buiten de stadsmuren. Een zalig zwembad met een uitstekend uitzicht op het kasteel. In het hotel stap je precies terug in de middeleeuwen wat ook wel een bijzondere ervaring is.
Op aanraden van het personeel zijn wij aan de overkant van het hotel gaan eten ( tapas) bij Jamon! wat echt geen aanrader was!!

The shower was an over the bath mixer which was very low pressure.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026We had a really lovely stay at Hotel Real d’Óbidos. Our room was beautiful, and the view overlooking the town was something special - the whitewashed houses, terracotta roofs, and the castle walls in the distance make Óbidos feel almost like a film set. Parking was easy and the hotel was simple to find. The staff were very helpful throughout our stay, and the breakfast was great, with plenty of choice and a relaxed feel. Óbidos itself is such a charming place to wander around: narrow cobbled streets, bright splashes of blue and yellow on the houses, little shops selling local crafts, and that incredible medieval wall running right around the town. Try the local ginja, especially the version served in tiny chocolate cups - completely delicious and one of those simple Óbidos pleasures that you just can’t miss. Staying at Hotel Real d’Óbidos put us right in the middle of it all, and we loved every minute.
Nothing about the hotel at all - it was great. On a side note, walking the castle walls in Óbidos was a real experience - there are no railings, the path can be narrow in places, and the drop beside you is… let’s just say “motivating.” We loved it the lower part that we did but you do need a steady foot and a bit of confidence!

The other rooms my kids stayed in felt very castle-like and were a little dark and dank with outdated bathrooms. Breakfast was good but the setting felt very dark with no windows and overall the ventilation was lacking.

Ein früherer Checkin war leider nicht möglich, aber das war nicht schlimm für uns.

Tinha acabado de chegar e a primeira coisa que queriam era que assinasse um documento a responsabilizar-me pela bolsa que continha a chave, o argumento foi que muita gente não entregava a bolsa no check out, achei extremamente inconveniente, desagradável e não assinei. Não é só a decoração que faz um Hotel, demasiadas falhas graves para um Hotel de 4 Estrelas que não sei como as mantém, falta de pressão da água na casa de banho, barulho proveniente do autoclismo durante toda a noite, demasiado barulho vindo do chão no corredor, etc... . Tendo sido sugerido um Restaurante perto por um amigo, quando perguntei ao funcionário onde seria foi-me desaconselhado porque seria muito escuro e com feed back dos clientes como mau, foi na mesma jantar a esse restaurante que de escuro não tinha nada e com uma qualidade e serviço prestado excelente, deduzi que como estava inserido num Hotel o objetivo seria não ter contacto com o espaço, há mercado para todos, muito deselegante da parte da Funcionária. O pequeno almoço com fruta tocada, café leite em termos e frios, salmão fumado fora do fresco ao ar, ovos mexidos feitos há muito tempo, enfim, um desastre. Resumindo, 173€ por uma noite e um Hotel a não voltar e que não aconselho a ninguém por tudo o que foi exposto.

Reviewed Jun 19, 2026The hotel is beautifully decorated to reflect the medieval feel of Óbidos, down to the large metal key used to open the room's door. The staff was helpful in guiding us to our room and showing us how to open the door. We particularly liked that the hotel was right next to one of the entries in the wall around the city, and we had a nice view of the town from our room. The hotel has a parking garage, but we were able to find parking on the street. The hotel was also very close to a couple restaurants outside the wall, which was convenient.
When we woke up in the morning to take our showers, there was nothing but cold water. We contacted the front desk, who initially said there was no problem and that the water heater was set to 65. However, other clients must have complained as well, because the staff eventually admitted that there was a problem. They were able to get it repaired fairly quickly, but unfortunately not before it was time for us to leave. I had to wash my hair in cold water and wait until our next destination to take a shower.

Reviewed Jun 18, 2026The location was ideal, the staff very helpful, our room was spacious and very comfortable, the rooftop pool was gorgeous with stunning views and the breakfast was exceptional.
Nothing really , it was absolutely perfect except for one very minor thing - our room did smell a little musty, like it needed some fresh air to flush it out and freshen it up. Otherwise I would highly recommend this place.

Reviewed Jun 18, 2026Such a convenient location, just outside the walls of the tiny touristy town of Obidos. There was a complementary garage, charming rooms done up in a current but medieval style (very clean), and complimentary breakfast and 7 pm welcome wine. The swimming pool and private grounds were a bonus for our time there. Definitely recommend!!

Reviewed Jun 14, 2026Außergewöhnlich schönes Hotel, total im Ritterstil. Überall Rüstungen, Schilder, viele liebevolle Details. Man fühlt sich in eine andere Zeit versetzt. Schöner Pool mit Blick auf die Burg, nur wenige Schritte von der Stadtmauer entfernt, gutes Frühstück - alles super!
Leider gibt es nicht viele Steckdosen zum Handy laden, vor allem keine am Bett.

Reviewed May 30, 2026The decor, the medieval theme, and the breakfast was really good though not hot once we got there. Bathrooms lovely. Pool looked good and lovely view from there.
Just really hard to use the key to open the door. Fun big old key which created much laughter as we couldn't open the door. Floors were creaky but that was in keeping with the age of the building.

Reviewed May 30, 2026The location was very convenient. It was easy to reach by car, easy to park on the street even though some parking was also available in the hotel's garage. The room was nicely appointed with a little balcony facing the street, with a view of the medieval walls. The hotel is located only steps away from one of the wall gates leading to the heart of historic Óbidos. Having complementary drinks and wine for guests in the evening was a nice touch. Breakfast had a good variety of items. It was a perfect place to spend a night.

לקחנו סוויטה מול הנוף והבריכה אבל היו שם עובדים שתיקנו את הריצוף מסביב לבריכה כשהגענו ועזבו רק לקראת הערב. למחרת בשעה 8:00 שוב התחילו עם העבודות והדפיקות אז קצת הפריע…. ארוחת בוקר פחות טובה מהמקומות האחרים שהיינו…

Reviewed May 26, 2026We stayed one night in rooms 111 and 112, which are not even supposed to be used by guests because they are next to the engine room and we had horrible sleepless night, plus the day we stay there was a maintenance work and we couldn’t open the windows, although smell of mould in the rooms is unbearable.
