Das Frühstück war liebevoll zubreitet. Es gab selbstgebackenen Kuchen und selbstgemachte Marmeladen. Täglich gab es mindestens zwei frisch gepresste Fruchtsäfte. Das Essen im Restaurant war sehr lecker. Die Innenausstattung des Hotels mit den vielen Büchern war sehr gemütlich.

Leider war das Zimmer etwas dunkel. Es gab einen Innenhof mit einer Sitzecke, die allerdings nicht sehr einladend war. Der Abfluss im Badezimmer stank fürchterlich. Der Geruch war selbst im Zimmer wahrzunehmen. Dies hat den Aufenthalt und den Gesamteindruck des Aufenthalts leider etwas getrübt.

Das Hotel liegt extrem günstig an der Mauer, man ist innerhalb von 5 Minuten in der Altstadt von Obidos. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen, das Hotel an sich ist sehr schön, das Frühstück sehr reichhaltig und lecker. Das Zimmer war schön eingerichtet, wir hatten Zugang zum sogenannten Secret Garden, dort konnte man schön sitzen und die Ruhe geniessen.

Das Hotel ist ein altes Kloster, leider riecht man das, es mufft in den Gängen sehr, besonders schlimm war es im Zimmer, das war zusätzlich sehr feucht, sowohl Bettwäsche als auch Bett waren feucht, der Schrank war aus gleichem Grund nicht nutzbar, alles was wir rumliegen gelassen haben, war nach einem Tag feucht, das war leider sehr unangenehm.

De ligging net buiten de stadsmuren, een heerlijk en uiterst gevarieerd ontbijt en als extra troef een excellent restaurant met zeer goede bediening.

De kamers zijn misschien aan een upgrade toe, maar door het concept komen ze ermee weg.

Everything was great! We managed to find a parking spot right in front of the hotel, which was very convenient. The breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety of options. The room was very cozy, and the bed was extremely comfortable. It’s a lovely, peaceful place, and I would happily stay here again!

La struttura è molto particolare, ogni ambiente è tappezzato di libri, creando un'atmosfera molto calda e suggestiva. Posizione molto comoda per visitare il borgo, davvero molto carino. Camera e bagno grandi, letto comodo. Colazione ricca e varia.

Personale scortese e poco disponibile, ad eccezione del guardiano notturno che ci ha accolti e ci ha permesso di visitare i vari ambienti "fuori orario". Il parcheggio è stato un incubo: la struttura non ci aveva anticipato nessun suggerimento per il parcheggio e abbiamo quindi fatto fatica a trovare un posto per l'auto la sera del nostro arrivo, anche considerando le vie strettissime del borgo. Camera e bagno avevano arredi datati, e in bagno abbiamo trovato solo del sapone e un rotolo di carta igienica: per una struttura a 4 stelle è inaccettabile. A colazione non abbiamo trovato i tavoli puliti e apparecchiati. La struttura era permeata da un cattivo odore e c'erano deumidificatori in ogni stanza. Pur avendo tutte le camere accessibili tramite scale, la struttura non è dotata di ascensore.

O conceito, os espaços e a decoração.

Acessibilidade (demasiadas escadas); a máquina do café avariou e não disponibilizaram uma alternativa de café em tempo útil, pelo que acabamos por não ter esta bebida ao pequeno almoço; pouca familiaridade por parte dos funcionários; cheiro a mofo no quarto e um AC demasiado barulhento. Também destacaria o facto de não ter estacionamento, o que é um ponto negativo para quem vai de carro.

Breakfast was good and very relaxed. Staff were lovely.

Our first room smelled very strongly of damp. In the end we asked to move and the second room was much nicer in every way, though the damp smell persisted a little. Wooden cladding effect was odd and the decor was generally tired though out eventual room was newly renovated and very nice. You will not want for English reading material !

La literie... très mauvaise et vétuste... matelas en mousse extra mou, alèse en plastique, oreillers extra mous et hors d'âge. Mais aussi la vétusté de notre chambre : peintures anciennes, portes très sales... mon mari a même nettoyé la porte d'entrée de la chambre dès notre arrivée... dommage pour un établissement si sympa et original !

The staff were excellent and did their utmost to solve any problems. The concept is wonderful and I liked the wooden panels and quirky typewriters included in the decor. The breakfast was tasty and the location, just outside the walls of the village, is good too. The room was quiet and comfortable with good aircon.

I was very excited about this hotel but was disappointed in several ways. I loved the idea of being surrounded by books but almost all the books I saw were trashy fiction - multiple copies of Dan Brown, Marian Keyes, Stephanie Meyer. Vegan options were advertised but needed ordering from reception in advance - something I only discovered after complaining. The breakfast staff didn't even telll me when I asked. I reserved a room with a minibar and balcony, however it was an empty fridge and a tiny outside space with broken barrier, mostly taken.up with the aircon unit.

Hay un gran olor a humedad en todo el establecimiento. El baño de la habitación huele a cañerías atascadas. Ciertos alimentos del desayuno no sé reponen, yo he estado 3 días alojada.La atención del personal de cocina en el desayuno es bastante mejorable, media hora esperando un huevo frito, que te hacen llamando a un timbre. Estuve con una pareja de amigos, yo pagué alrededor de 100 euros más por una habitación superior y a ellos se les asignó una habitación mejor que la nuestra, es esto lógico??? Y más.....

Die Lage ist wirklich toll, das Hotel in den Klostermauern und den Büchern besonders. Sehr gutes Frühstück und Essen im Restaurant

Gebucht hatte ich eine Superior Deluxe Suite, da diese für drei Personen geeignet sein soll. Bereits bei der Ankunft bekamen wir einen Schlüssel in die Hand gedrückt der kaum in eine Tasche passt. Musste also immer beim Verlassen des Hotels an der Rezeption abgegeben werden. Nachdem wir dann mehrere Koffer über mehrere Treppen geschleppt hatten und das Zimmer aufgesperrt hatten viel uns als erstes ins Auge, dass der Toilettendeckel nicht sauber befestigt wurde bzw. Trotz dem Versuch zu kleben nichts gehalten hat. An den Schränken in Badezimmer und Toilette war so viel Staub, dass diese schon sehr lange nicht mehr abgewischt worden sein müssen. Das Beistellbett so wacklig, dass man eigentlich nicht darauf schlafen konnte. Am schlimmsten jedoch eine Bettdecke ohne fixen Bettenbezug. Der Bezug wurde nur darüber geschlagen. Die Kissen vergilbt! Alles in dem Gebäude war einfach feucht. Balkon bzw. Terrasse wie in der Buchung angekündigt gab es nicht. Man konnte zwar über die Treppe in einen Hof, dieser war aber sehr heruntergekommen und nicht gepflegt. Nach Reklamation wurde darauf hingewiesen, dass es sich um ein altes Kloster handle und daher es halt so sei. Man hat uns zwar ein neues Zimmer angeboten, aber dass nicht davon auszugehen war, dass es dort besser sei und wir nur kurz blieben haben wir abgelehnt. Alt hin oder her, aber gepflegt und sauber könnte es dennoch sein!

Struttura veramente bella, particolare, piena di libri, è veramente suggestiva e piacevole. Camera spaziosa e comoda. Struttura subito fuori le mura di Óbidos, comodissima, ha ristorante all’interno e anche tantissimi intorno e dentro le mura della città.

Tutto è curato nel dettaglio con ottimo gusto. L’ambientazione a tema letterario è semplice te geniale e piacevolissima. I servizi sono confortevoli la volizione ottima, non manca niente. La posizione della Struttura e’ comodissima per raggiungere il centro a piedi ed è agevole trovare parcheggio.

Niente e’ tutto perfetto

Wunderschönes Hotel in einem ehemaligen Kloster, sehr komfortable Zimmer, gutes Restaurant und ausgezeichnetes Frühstück. Auch außerhalb des Zimmers gibt es viele gemütliche Ecken im Hotel und im „Secret Garden“, in die man sich zum Lesen oder for ein gutes Gespräch zurückziehen kann.

La posizione

Solitamente non scrivo recensioni dettagliate e sono piuttosto accondiscendente con le strutture, ma in questo caso ritengo doveroso procedere con una recensione puntuale. Ad una prima impressione l’hotel sembra molto suggestivo. Superata la reception si salgono dei gradini in cui la moquette non sembra mai essere stata pulita e non si capisce quale dovesse essere il colore originario. Girato l’angolo si accede ad un corridoio che puzza di umido e fogna. Ci sono macchinari per l’umidità nei corridoi, spenti, perché il serbatoio è pieno e nessuno lo svuota… Aprendo la camera con il portachiavi da 20 cm di diametro (stile hotel anni 50) vieni accolto da una camera con i muri completamente sporchi, con macchie e segni di umidità. Aprendo la porta del bagno, si accede ad una vasca con muri e sigillature scrostate e qualcosa che sembra muffa. Macchina per umidità in camera, ovviamente spenta… Il vetro della doccia sembra crollarti addosso così come il porta sapone. Il condizionatore, seppur funzionante, versa in condizioni pietose. La porta finestra che dà sul “giardino” si apre a fatica… Non ci sono tende, quindi dal giardino si vede dentro la camera a meno di non chiudere le imposte… Ho chiesto se avessero mai visto una suite in un qualsiasi altro 4 stelle in giro per il mondo e mi hanno risposto che questa è la loro suite e che sanno che le camere sono fatiscenti… Mi hanno proposto di cambiare camera, ma fermandomi solo una notte, avendo molti bagagli, dovendo spostarli a mano, senza ascensore e immaginando che se avessero avuto una suite migliore me la avrebbero già data, ho preferito non procedere. Hotel estremamente sopravvalutato, manutenzione inesistente, da evitare ad ogni costo… Meglio dormire in auto.

La struttura è bellissima e in posizione strategica per visitare Obidos

Onestamente devo ammettere che il buffet della colazione è di buona qualità con tanta varietà.

Se cerchi un albergo poco ti importa di quanti libri ha (più di 3000 ad ogni parete dell’edificio, tranne nelle camere). Cerchi pulizia, un letto comodo e possibilmente uno staff gentile. Ahimè ….questo posto fa acqua da tutte le parti sotto questo aspetto!

Het hotel ligt net buiten de stadsmuur. Onze deluxe kamer was zeer groot, had een soort salon kamer en apart slaap gedeelte en een inloop kast met rekken om de koffrs/tassen neer te zetten. De badkamer was ruim, het ben zeer comfortabel. Zoals de naam al suggereert vind je overal door het hotel wanden vol kasten met boeken. Meer dan 50.000 las ik in een artikel. Het ontbijt was ruim bemeten met zeer veel keuze.

Ubicació perfecta i habitació amplíssima i còmoda. Esmorzar increïble i amb una gran varietat de dolços i pastissos. Restaurant al mateix hotel molt bo. Personal amable.

Vi hadde vansker med å finne parkering i gaten utenfor, så valgte å parkere på den store offentlige parkeringsplassen. Det gikk helt greit, ingen stor mangel.

Es absolutamente precioso. Sientes que viajas a la Edad Media (¡Incluso desde la cama veíamos la muralla iluminada por la noche!) pero en un hotel moderno y con todas las comodidades. Su temática literaria es también muy especial y hace que este hotel se distinga de todos los demás en los que he estado. El personal es muy amable, el desayuno perfecto y muy variado (incluso te hacen huevos al momento si quieres), la habitación muy bonita, sin problema para aparcar en la calle (y eso que estaban de fiesta medieval en el pueblo).

No hay nada que no nos gustara. Superó nuestras expectativas, sin duda. Pasamos solo una noche porque íbamos de paso, y si volviera a organizar el viaje, pasaría dos noches allí para poder disfrutar un poco más del hotel y del pueblo, pequeñito y tranquilo.

Excellent location right outside the old town. We attended the medieval festival and this was the perfect accomodation to stay in. The staff were lovely, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was sensational.

Das Hotel ist sicher außergewöhnlich, überall Regale mit Büchern, das ist schon ein Hingucker. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig, die Betten bequem, das Bad hatte eine gute Größe und war sehr hübsch gefliest. Es gibt nach hinten eine recht große Terrasse mit Sitzgelegenheiten, und wer möchte, kann in dem Hotel auch zu abend essen (haben wir nicht genutzt). Die Lage ist gut, es sind nur wenige Schritte in die Altstadt, und es ist abends ruhig. Das Frühstück war o.k., aber nicht herausragend. Das Personal war freundlich.

Die Einrichtung ist zum Teil schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, es gibt viel Teppichboden, der seine besten Zeiten hinter sich hat, und es hätte etwas sauberer sein können. Da wir im Zimmer keinen Teppichboden hatten, und es im Zimmer auch sauber war, hat uns das aber nicht besonders gestört. Parken kann man in der Umgebung, aber man muss sich den Parkplatz suchen.

Lovely Hotel, slightly "rundown" decor (very worn carpets etc) but it was all part of the charm. I had a huge double room with the tiniest of the bathrooms but water pressure in the shower was excellent. (Bathroom could do with a lick of paint though). Fabulous breakfast and obviously the rows and rows of books were the highlight of this place. I would definitely stay again.

The location was good, we managed to find free parking on the street, although it was not always very easy. The hotel has its charm, each room is unique, staff is helpful. The best part was delicious breakfast!

It was surprising and nice to be offered a bottle of wine on arrival but I would prefer a bottle or two if water. Daily. Specially when it’s sooo hot. There are tiny things, which need fixing… No big issues. But the air conditioning should be exchanged. It makes too much noise and we couldn’t use it at night. Unfortunately.

o Hotel é uma experiencia única, além de tantos ambientes repletos de livros, restaurante e café da manha excelentes, o quarto nos transportou para outra época, a decoração, as portas, janelas, tudo muito incrível. Da janela da sala que tinha no quarto podíamos ver a muralha do castelo. Localização excelente. Recomendo muito.

O hotel é lindíssimo decorado com livros que podem ser lidos. O quarto amplo com curiosidades históricas e decoração com livros e mobílias antigas. Café da manhã muito bom. Localização excelente, dá para fazer tudo a pé. Colaboradores simpáticos. A cidade de Óbidos é encantadora!

Plus qu un hôtel une invitation dans une bonbonnière littéraire nichée dans un ancien petit monastère. Accueil discret charmant et efficace, chambre climatisée et personnalisée par des petits détails chaleureux. Très bon restaurant service jeune et souriant dans une très belle salle, un vrai dépaysement au sein d un village lui même digne du detour. Petit déjeuner exclusivement composée de produits frais et maison. Très très belle surprise que cette étape. Accès en voiture possible avec un bon gps , stationnement un peu plus aléatoire mais l établissement se situe sous les remparts

I found the beds too low. The air conditioner leaked a lot of water into the room, and one of the bathrooms had an unpleasant smell.

A decoração do hotel é muito suigeneris, o quarto era espaçoso e decorado com muito bom gosto, a comida excelente (as empadas de cogumelos selvagens sao uma iguaria)

Très bel endroit au pied des remparts du château d’Obidos ce qui rend le lieu magique. Un endroit magnifique où le livre est roi, dans chaque recoins de l’hôtel. Très belle chambre. Petit déjeuner parfait . Bous avons eu la chance d’assister au festival médiéval qui se dérouler dans l’enceinte du château, un moment hors du temps.
