Excellent breakfast, lovely staff. A very pleasant stay
The guests in a nearby room were very inconsiderate, TV on loud before 7am so we had a early rude awakening
Fantastic location. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice little touches in the room. Also the food is lovely.
Location is in centre but not that easy to spot car park.
Meals and drinks overpriced. Also check your bill as they automatically add 10% but do deduct if you tell them. We could not stay for breakfast due to family issues. I explained to staff and asked if stay payment was fully paid. They said yes. Only to find an additional £15 taken from my bank upon return.
Absolutely loved every minute. Comfortable rooms, comfy beds. Fantastic location. Food first class
Nothing
We didn't have breakfast as was little too expensive
That we were charged £1 for plastic glasses . I returned 4 and still not received my money back . No other concerns
Location
Room was tiny
Central and very friendly staff Very clean
Very clean and located in a great area bang centre of Holmfirth
Couldn’t cool the room down even though there was a fan in the room. Could have done with air con, other than that a lovely property to stay in
Central to town and Claire who works in the restaurant was by far the loveliest, friendliest hospitality team member I’ve ever been served by. What a lovely lady who goes above and beyond. Look after her she’s a keeper!
The super efficient barman was rather dismissive in his manner. Even busy weekends should see staff have the approach the lady in the restaurant has.
Comfortable room. Proximity to picture drome for concert..
The balcony to the room needs re flooring Unfortunately when the staff member asked about our room number at breakfast, I misheard him and indicated to my wife about her breakfast selection (Ladies choose first) He took it upon himself to try and ridicule my wife and myself in regards to the room number. It was a total miscommunication, yet he shouldn't have tried to make fun of guests surrounded by other people having their breakfast. In fact you could tell he did it to make himself look humorous. It was completely unprofessional and definitely a slight on our whole experience with your wonderful establishment.
Very friendly staff in a comfortable Hotel. The food was good and I would recommend the Chicken,Ham & Leek pie which is very meaty. It is good to see a bar with 2 hand pump Ales.
Convenient
Nothing
The bar and restaurant area were very nice but there was a strange smell when you went towards the bedrooms. The girls in room 32 said there was a strong smell.
This hotel was wonderfully situated for our tour of "Last Of The Summer Wine" district. Hotel food was very good as were the rooms. Friendly staff and very helpful receptionist. Very happy with our stay in Holmfirth.
Location
Only large velux window, needed small opening or velux adjustment for small flow of air in the room
Location and ambience
Everything from the rooms to the bar to the food and the staff was excellent, I couldn't fault anything.
The entrance to the carpark wasn't easy to find.Maybe a bigger sign is required and not many car parking spaces.
Great location
Nothing
Good
The onsuit
Good location, lovely bar area, nice food and good breakfast. Friendly staff
Bedrooms need updating, look very different from rest of hotel. Mattress hard and not very comfy. Took a long time for food to come and to stock breakfast items up.
Room was quite small but comfortable for the one night.
It was a little noisy as you could hear the noise from the outside terrace and the bus stop outside in the morning.
Location in Holmfirth. Added bonus was the DJ set on Saturday which added a real buzz to the Etsy
Nothing
Location was fabulous
Nothing, shower had a little low pressure but due to the age of building, but what do you expect? Everything else made up for it.
Great location in the centre of Holmfirth, super friendly staff, fantastic breakfast.
Prime location great staff and a good atmosphere
Old windows which ment that at night time could hear everything outside. Also the bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly there was blood and other stuff on the tiles by the toilet but was quickly cleaned when mentioned to the staff.
Modern interiors with historic exterior. Good restaurant menu with interesting ,local, options. Great portions too. Comfy, compact bedroom and modern bathroom.
second room was fab, Brekky was fab and very fresh, cooked to perfection best scrambled egg for a long time
the shower head lets the bathroom down
It was a treat for my partners birthday.
Nothing everything was perfect.
A stunning hotel in a beautiful location. We stayed for the night to see a band at the picture drome & the fact this was right next door was amazing! Our room was lovely, very spacious & very clean. The bar & dining areas are beautifully decorated & there is a lovely outdoor seating area...unfortunately we didnt get time to eat but it was a very pleasant stay, the staff are friendly & welcoming & i would 100% stay here again in the future.
I think the price of the drinks could be a little lower...i found £11 for a single brandy & coke to be very expensive
Staff, location, beer and food were all great
Big stone building holds the heat in the summer, could have done with A/C, but a fan was supplied.
It was so close to the picturedrome where I went for a concert.
Handy central location. Nice big modern room. Service great throughout
Only thing was sleep was disturbed late night by people leaving bars and hanging round in the car park
It’s location
Needs sound proof in rooms , could hear everything that was going on in room above
The location, breakfast
Room was too hot. Pillows too hard and bed not very comfy
Wonderful Hotel in a fab little spot. Lovely staff who were super helpful and courteous. Clean room and perfect location for a gig in the picturedome , literally next door. The bath was a delight. Transport from Huddersfield was great. Bus stop 50 yards from the door! Amazing.
One negative as a light sleeper, that is probably location specific to our twin room, there was a fan operating just outside our window, loudly humming at all times, as this meant huge distraction and very poor sleep for me. Otherwise my rating of 8/10 would have been 10/10.
Was nice place .
Was a bit pricey in the area.
We had an early departure ,that meant we missed breakfast ,the night duty manager arranged bacon sandwiches ,pastries and jam and coffee to take with us on our journey .He went way above and beyond and is a credit to the establishment. We think he was called Glynne.
Friendly staff Very clean Excellent location
I love this area of Holmfirst. Its a beautiful place to visit.
Having to climb stairs with my luggage as im 71
Great location. Great staff
No aircon in rooms
The beds were comfortable and nice, modern bathroom.
Unfortunately because of the hot weather the room on our first night was exceedingly hot. A fan was provided but really didn't do very much. With windows open the location was very, very noisy with live bands on both sides of the hotel and people shouting etc. This was unfortunate as we had to be up early for events. A winter break may well be more relaxing here as this probably would not be happening to the same extent.
I loved the ambiance of the breakfast room. It's bright and fresh.
It was all good
Ideal location right in the middle of Holmfirth. Room was clean and well furnished.
Room a little small
Convenient for the wrea
Very hot and noisy at night Room small
A bit hot up in the roof, but opened a window
The staff, great food, location
No air conditioning and restricted opening window
Friendly staff, great location
Nothing
Had a lovely stay with my daughter for one night whilst visiting family. Good clean room with super comfy beds and luxury pillows. Bath and shower which was nice. Lots of hot water and gorgeous toiletries. Had a few drinks in the bar and the night porter Glynn who served us was lovely. Really friendly and looked after us all so well. Will definitely stay again.
Room was a little dated and had an interlocking door with no lock on our side so made sure all our bags were up against it. Would definitely ask for a room without that next time.
Central, parking, comfortable room
Room got very hot (in loft), was too noisy outside to have velux window open more than a crack or would not have been able to sleep.
Good location of lovely little town . Quite busy . Breakfast was good
Rooms were small and quite hot . Parking area awkward and small
Very good breakfast.good choice and hot
The shower was not good at all.was cold then became to hot. While showering would go very cold then become to hot.suspect because it was electric shower water pressure dropped and then came back up to pressure Thought the bar could have stayed open later than 11 pm
Location location location
Slightly high on price .. but Saturdays are popular
Location and food
Rooms dated
Convenient and comfortable
Despite the fan in the room it was very hot
Location is spot on - good eating / drinking areas inside and out. Food was very good.
One of the rooms had a terrible smell. Almost like a nicotine / stale cigarette smell but it was overpowering and spoilt the stay.
Breakfast great. Good choice. Cooked beautifully.Nice waitress.
Lights above bed didn't work. Hook for blind broken. Constant fan going on and off all night so hard to sleep. ( Think outside?)These were negative points, but more positive. Clean bathroom, lovely towels and shower gel. Very comfy bed and clean room.
Repeat visit, fantastic service & food.
Nothing
Food delicious, service professional but still friendly.
A lift, but fully understand your limitations!
Well located. Friendly staff.
Parking was very tight and limited spaces. Some what noisy at night due to outdoor drinking area just below our room.
Location, food menu, bar, staff, area as a whole.
Room a bit small for price, bit of a climb up stairs to get there.
The hotel is in a brilliant locstion the staff were very friendly anf helpful however looked as if there werent enough staff one lady wss booking us in helping to direct people to seating for food ,and looking over bar area, ive worked in Customer service for over 40 years and know how important support is .
The rooms because of weather were very hot there was a fan but wasnt enough also a fridge in rooms would be helpfull to put juice or water in for through the night. Our stay was enjoyable.our
Friendliness,clean,central,food good, nothing toouch trouble
Fans in the room are not very effective
Location
Staple items missing at breakfast Shower impossible to regulate satisfactory temperature
Great locations as very helpful staff
Food service stoped at 19.45
The location was perfect for us as we had a family wedding nearby.
Parking is limited at the hotel and in Holmfirth.
The location was fantastic and the staff very nice and helpful . The disco outside was great and the atmosphere excellent!
The room was like a furnace we were on first floor so windows could only open slightly . There was a fan but it didnt help ! I asked for a cooler room but was told tje hotel was full Although staff were very understanding . It did spoil our stay .
Breakfast
The staff are lovely. The room was adequate but I felt slightly overpriced.
The room was at the front of the hotel. Basically I had about 2 hours sleep. There were teenagers sat under our window until daylight. No A/C so had the window open.
Plenty of plug sockets very nice food
No freeview on tvs or you tube . Car park exscability needs improving
Location very good in centre of Holmfirth. Breakfast was well cooked with fresh ingredients but staff not very friendly or well organised. Limited space for parking and tight access. Poor value for money - high room rate and did not include breakfast (£13.75 extra).
Room in top floor was far too hot and only one small fan in the room. Aircon should be essential in summer. Corridor walls outside the room were warm like radiators. Shower is electric and could not get stable flow or temperature.
Nice village pub, parking available on site. Rooms above the pub were clean and had everything we needed for overnight stay. Great breakfast and a live singer on Saturday night for a hour.
The room/rooms booked two as went with friends, we’re both very hot but had a fan provided. The room at the back of the hotel overlooked a small bar that was open till past 2am so very noisy. We had little sleep due to the noise and the heat. Had to jerk the windows as open as the openers would allow. The door stairs ladies toilets had windows open very wide and heard through another guest that men were looking through them in the evening.
The location
The room! It was unbearable!! Couldn’t not sleep for the lack of ventilation and noise , the window looked straight into the kitchen of a takeaway and was above a very noisy bar that was still going strong at 3 am ! Never had such a bad experience in any other hotel ever . Spoke to the owner about it at check out who was not remotely interested!!
Central location and parking
Room wasn’t the cleanest, pile of what looked like crisps in the carpet, toilet seat had marks on too.
Excellent location, helpful staff, great Sunday dinner. They’d even managed to keep the rooms cool during the hot weather. Would stay there again.
The location, meals were good, and parking on site
Room 19 opposite Holmfirth tavern playing loud music into the early hours of the morning, reported it to the staff, didn't offer us an alternative room, promised us some compensation but never did, had very little sleep and spent a very good amount of money in the bar and restaurant plus the room price and felt just cast aside, very poor management to not even try and resolve the situation 😪
Great location in centre of town with convenient parking. Nice bar and range of drinks with plenty of outside options in sunny weather.
Shower wasn’t working in room .
Great location, staff all very helpful and friendly, hotel clean and tidy ,will visit again
Nothing
The breakfast was OK but the range of cereals was limited. The room was clean and quite well appointed.
In the current climate the complete lack of air conditioning is a serious deficiency, and made our stay pretty much unbearable. It didn't help that the windows were rigged so that we couldn't open them wide. The temperature in the breakfast room was quite comfortable, but unfortunately we couldn't sleep there!
Location was good. Breakfast was lovely
On arrival no parking available even though I called ahead to request a disabled spot. Was told we could park in a near by Sainsbury’s so drove there to find it had a two hour parking limit. All the town centre car parks were a walk away so really not disabled friendly. Corridors in the hotel were hotter than satans breath. We were on the top floor and the corridor up there was very uncomfortable. Had to have the window in the room open all night so it was really noisy from the pub below.
Great location
Breakfast took too long
Nice staff and good location
The heat in my room was unbearable and made sleeping very difficult.
Excellent location. Car park is fairly small so get there early if you can. Good spot overlooking the river. Really nice bathroom and shower, also liked the pelmet in the room. Friendly staff. It was very busy when we visited as it was a bank holiday. Can't comment on the food as we stayed room only. A discount off the food menu might be a good incentives for guests staying at the hotel.
The room was a bit stuffy but it was a very hot day when we visited so not the hotels fault. There is air con in main areas but not the rooms themselves but this is to be expected in the North. Also we asked for a quiet room but not sure we got one as we woken up by a family eating breakfast outside on the terrace at the front. Rooms at the back might be quieter perhaps.
perfect as it was next door to the venue we were visiting hence why we stayed there
Everything
Bedroom was a bit small and backed on to pubs. So noisy at night
Location & general standard
Our room was too hot as the electric heater in the bathroom could not be turned off by the staff - although I do know there would have been a circuit break that could have been isolated somewhere
Friendly staff, great location and breakfast, would happily return
Above all the warm welcome from the friendly staff, rooms were clean and modern , breakfast was excellent
I thought it was a little overpriced to be honest, I travel a lot for business in 4 star hotels and here the prices are expensive
Perfect location for Picturedrome concert venue - it’s next door!
Single rooms, whilst well equipped are very cramped and facilities shoe horned in but ok for 1 night stay
Great location and friendly staff
The room was excessively hot, no air conditioning
Perfect location for our evening at the Picturedome - next door! Booked an evening meal in advance - it was busy! Food good with quick service.
Teh room wqas extremely warm. We opened both windows and closed the curtains to cool the room down - the sun was also on our side. The room was cooler on our return but still warm. There was a fan present in the room for our use. However, we still managed to sleep!
Love staying here . Staff lovely, rooms clean and the hotel is ideally situated for exploring. Parking is on site too which is wonderful.
Could not understand the server. Server did not ask if we required coffee or tea
Everything
Great facilities, great service.

Great atmosphere plenty of seating in and outside. Nice warm feel with friendly staff.
Single room was too small for the price. However clean and had everything you needed.

Great location, friendly staff, excellent food, clean
The location of the hotel is perfect as it's right in the centre of Holmfirth. It has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. Breakfast was really good and all the staff were excellent.
It was a little too warm in our room but everything else is perfect.
