Location to the picturedrome 3mins where I go to music gigs
Could not find fault
Excellent breakfast. Clean room comfortable bed. Well situated in town.
Too many stairs not suitable for emderky/disabled. Low beam in the room made getting off the bed very difficult. Low ceiling in bathroom also difficult. Absolutely unsuitable fir anyone over 5’8”!!!
Great location, good size room, very clean, staff very friendly and professional
Lovley quirky room, everything you need including iron tea/coffee biscuits etc, overlooking stream
It was a lovely quirky room and excellent location
You had to be careful not hitting your head on the wooden beam above the bed The coffee at breakfast was very weak. Suggest ask customers if they would like strong coffee
Lovely staff; everyone we met was friendly, helpful & made us welcome. Comms beforehand were similarly friendly & helpful. Location; absolutely terrific, right where we needed to be - & plenty to do within a couple mins radius. The NOOK set-up is excellent: ensuite bedrooms above a great little pub (with access from outside - or inside when pub was open); plus a bistro next door, run by the same team. Food in the bistro was delicious, and again, the lovely staff couldn’t do enough to make our visit enjoyable!
Our bedroom was in the rafters - with one side of the double bed not only under the sloping roof, but under a huge roof beam…no way we could sit up / get in / out of bed that side. We had to move the bed to the middle of the room for better access.
The room was nice, clean and comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were clean as well. Unfortunately, the breakfast was disappointing. The food arrived cold, and we had quite a long wait for it to arrive. We had to ask the lady serving when our breakfast would be ready, particularly as four people who arrived after us had already received theirs. We were disappointed with the service and the length of time we had to wait.
Good
Location was very good/ room was clean/ good facilities/ nice breakfast/ friendly staff
The noise overnight - outside the accommodation was very disturbing until 3 am on a Saturday morning. Then other guests coming back from night out!
Can't be more central , great location. Very friendly staff. Room was lovely clean and comfortable. The breakfast was one of the tastiest ive ever had.
Tiny fault only one toilet roll.
Everything was perfect. The staff were so lovely and friendly. Thr rooms were wonderful, clean and the breakfast was amazing.
It would have been perfect if all of the little windows could have been unlocked instead of just one, it was very warm. The mattress was quite hard too.
Perfect location in the centre of Holmfirth. The pub dates fronn the 18th century, but the rooms are updated and ensuite. The hotel also has a communual room.
I think check out was 10am , a bit early but a very minor issue. Woikd still go again.
Location Very clean Friendly staff
Comfy beds, friendly staff.
Could have done with a smart tv.
Only issue was outside noise but it’s bang in the middle of town so expected it Good rooms
Breakfast
Nothing
Can’t really find anything we liked
The room was shockingly small and in the roof space. Very limited access to move in the room.
Location is very good, comfortable and clean room, delicious breakfast with a good selection and very friendly and helpful staff.
Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good full English breakfast
No on-site parking
Very central , very clean . The bed was really comfy and a great breakfast !
We were in the roof do the beam was low but we were aware of this before booking !
Very quirky and olde worldly! The bed linen was beautiful quality and exceptionally clean but it was the smallest double bed ever
The dining room was lovely and quirky but needed a good clean…. Spiders and webs all over the window sills… such a shame Location was between 2 pubs and a cafe bar so very noisy
Great clean little room in a quirky hotel setting. Super breakfast cooked on demand. 24 hr access
Lots of stairs. Attic room a bit tight for headroom (I'm over 6ft). Parking not to handy.
The staff excellent
The noise from the pub, an incident occurred and went on well into the early hours, about 2/3am
Good size room for a single occupancy. A kitchen and lounge for the use of guests.
Top of the building, the stairs weren't a problem for me, but could be for some people.
Location and breakfast
No hairdryer as stated there should be, no fan, and a crack in the toilet.
The 1st room was small and you couldn't walk round the bed without crouching down , I went back and said that I couldn't stay in that room ( it should be a single in my opinion) the young man Nathan changed my room and the next room was fine , comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent and the chef was friendly.
First room not suitable for 2 people.
Great location, clean facilities, friendly staff.
The only downside was that we were in the attic room which meant there were sloping ceilings and a beam directly over my side of the bed. I’m 6’3” so I couldn’t get round, but it wasn’t an issue while sleeping. It made us feel quite claustrophobic but it wouldn’t put me off booking again.
Beautiful room Great breakfast room and breakfast
Noise from the pub below
Staff were friendly check in was quick and simple, very clean, good breakfast
We had the very top room so was extremely hot - not the hotels fault though
A very pleasant, comfy and clean room. There was no noise either from other rooms or from outside other than the pleasant sound of the brook that runs behind the building. Breakfasts were excellent, as good as any I've had anywhere. The accommodation has a separate entrance so you don't have to go into the Nook itself, but it's worth visiting as it's a proper locals' pub that doesn't seem to have lost the character it had when my parents frequented it fifty years ago - and it now serves several rather good beers from its own brewery.
Nothing of note.
This is a quirky hotel with brilliant friendly staff
The room had a very low roof on one side - we kept bumping our heads
lovely modern room. Clean bathroom. Comfortable bed. Easy check in. We didn't stay for breakfast
all was good with the accommodation.
No first time stayed and Everything was perfect everytime
That we stayed for only one night
Location
The location

Very nice room and the staff are very friendly and helpful Excellent breakfast too It's the Nook pub which has a great range of beers It's right in the centre of Holmefirth and great for the Picturedrome
The the bed is rather hard
Parking isnt available its luck of draw in Holmfirth. Would have liked earlier check in. 3pm is late when you have bags and want to explore from the morning

Fantastic location !!
Our room was up in the attic and a bit small. Quite a few steps to climb.
Nice and clean
Noisy at night from drunks arguing
Perfect location, comfortable bed, good breakfast

Ideal location. Spacious room. Friendly staff.
The location is superb, the room big and a very good breakfast
It needs a bedside light on both sides of the bed
Breakfast was very nice and staff superb.
Just my preference but prefer two pillows
Third time staying at The Nook. What better an endorsement than returning time after time. Back in April for stay number 4
Good location
The beds needs 2 pillows per person
Location
Full of insects, very basic accommodation
The room was lovely and clean!
The room only came with one pillow each to sleep with, we never asked but I assume you’d be able to get another! The noise from the bar below was so loud and finished around 12:30am so struggled to get to sleep. Ear plugs or something should be provided if possible.
Everything
We stayed for one night only on New Years Eve. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are only small but are comfortable with en suite bathroom with shower. It was relatively quiet, with any noise from other guests kept to a minimum. The Nook bar area is excellent and staff is very welcoming. We decided to have breakfast and was well worth it. All in all, a lovely place to stay for a few nights. The Nook describes the place perfectly. Only small and space is at a premium but they have made the place very homely and comfortable
We didn't arrive for check in until around 1730hrs and was a little awkward having to go through details etc in the small bar adjoining as it was quite full and there was four of us with luggage., not an ideal reception area.
Very friendly and welcoming staff
Breakfast was disappointing. The cooked part was good but the cold options were disappointing and the coffee was terrible. Staff need to be trained on how to make a proper coffee as the poor lad who served us didn’t have a clue. Noisy room due to creaking floorboards upstairs.
Breakfast was fantastic, great location
Nothing
Nice, comfy, warm room
No one to wave you off
Breakfast great, location superb.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the pub downstairs was really welcoming and cosy. The full Engluish breakfast was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is ideal for visiting Holmfirth. We will definitely stay here again.
The room did have a very low sloping ceiling, but that is in the nature of an old building like this.
Location in Holmfirth excellent and the attached pub & bar were great. Clean room and nice crisp bed linen. Staff cheerful and helpful.
It was a bit of a maze - might have struggled to find our way out if there was a fire. More and clearer signage on the doors may help. We have been fortunate to be able to stay in rooms away a lot lately; compared with them I thought the price (over £130] was a bit steep.
Great location in the middle of town.
Exits not sign posted, so wasn’t easy to find our way out of the building in the morning.
Great staff. Great location
Room had a smell of drains
Location
Price for our stay, room was £113, this was without the breakfast, an extra £28, then parking £14. The breakfast was a bit lack luster and tasteless too.. Unfortunately we won't be staying there again.
Clean comfortable and in a great location.
From the moment we arrived from the young man who seemed couldn't do enough to having our breakfast the following morning was flawless. Definitely going again.
Nothing
The location in the centre of Holmfirth was perfect. The room had everything we needed and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
I hadn't realised the room would be as small as it was with the double bed crammed under the eaves so that I (sleeping on the right) could only get out of bed by clambering down the bed. It was also right at the top of the building so lots of stairs. Not sure either of these were clearly spelt out when I booked. Also, being right above the pub which is busy and quite noisy up to midnight, (a Friday night) wouldn't suit anyone who likes to get to sleep before midnight. There are currently all night road works going on close by, although I found the noise of that strangely soothing!
Lovely property, quirky, great central location!
The double bed was under a beam and you could only get in from one side. But it was very comfortable once you were in bed!
Location
Location was really in the centre staff very friendly and helpful the bed was comfy
The toilet smells of sewers the window leaked and you could hear upstairs at night not enough milksachets in room
Good breakfast, good shower, clean room, 2 great bars attached
There was no parking close to the accommodation at the time of the day we arrived( Saturday afternoon).
The accommodation (room) was good - solid oak and real quality. bed linen was 100% - definitely would stay again.
Direction to find the premises and how to check in. Google maps wrong and had to ask a number of people - I would not have had to find this place late at night! And they didn't tell us you need to ask for hair dryer.
Great area.
Excellent breakfast, remember there is a pub downstairs so you accept that there will be noise until 00:30 on a Friday/Sat night, Not an issue for me but you've been warned if you're on the first floor .
My good lady didn't like the lack of a hairdryer.
The room was perfect for us. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Needed extra pillows
The room was lovely, large and comfortable. We came for a concert so the location so close to the Picturedrome was perfect. The staff were friendly and the pub was great.
Breakfast was ok but the sausages didn't look very appetising. Having said that we would certainly stay here again.
Everything was just as needed Clean Modern but authentic Hot shower
Sloping roof a bit too low for husband lol 😆
Great stay. Loved breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff
Comfortable clean room.staff friendly and accommodating. Attached to a lovely bar. Would stay again.
Clean, great location and staff were superb.
A lot of stairs to the top floor and headroom somewhat restricted in the rooms on the top floor. Breakfast a little expensive at £14 each.
Great location ,staff and food
We have stayed numerous times before, always been great. This time we copt for an attic room wich was a bit cramped for my frame 😂.
