The food was fine; the beds were good; the staff were friendly.

Lots of small things bothered which made clear that proper maintenance of the rooms was not a high priority, e g ceiling light in bathroom of room 9 "flickering" non stop, outer door handle of room 9 little loose, sliding door to bathroom extremely difficult to move, one dirty pillowcase, etc Biggest problem in room 9 was that the TV was broken and could not be rectified because we only discovered it after dinner. We reported it, but the staff could not do anything to assist.

Sehr nettes, hilfsbereites Personal, alles sehr sauber, wunderschöne Anlage, Massage sehr zu empfehlen. Es wird kein Mittagessen angeboten, man kann sich aber Uber Eats etwas kommen lassen, was sehr gut funktioniert. Hotel bietet Abendessen (Buffet, afrikanisch) und Ausflüge an.

Umgebung nicht so einladend, eventuell etwas unsicher zu Fuss zu erkunden.

Erano giorni freddi e i pannelli della camere non bastavano a riscaldare la camera quindi abbiamo dormito vestiti per non congelarci.

The staff are always such a joy at Sunrock, this is our default destination if we have to overnight in Johannesburg between flights. Everyone goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful and nothing is too much effor.

Lage in Flughafennähe, aber der Lärm der Flugzeuge ist kaum wahrnehmbar. Sehr schöne Anlage, wie eine kleine Oase gestaltet mit viel Mühe fürs Detail. Abendessen und Frühstück ist vielfältig und sehr gut.

Kommunikation, um das Shuttle zu bekommen war etwas holprig.

Wat een ontzettend leuk hotel nabij de luchthaven van Johannesburg. Hotel biedt een shuttle service kosteloos aan, goede service! Onze kamer, een familiekamer, was ontzettend ruim. Heerlijke bedden, goede douche en naast de toilet in de badkamer was er nog een apart toilet in de kamer. Personeel in het hotel is ontzettend aardig. Zwembad heeft verwarmd water, wat een luxe! Vooraf aan de aankomst hadden we een bericht ontvangen of we wilde reserveren voor het buffet wat ze serveerden. Eten was prima, niet super uitbereid maar meer dan voldoende om je buik goed te vullen. Ontbijt was lekker! De bar/restaurant is super sfeervol en de accommodatie heeft een prachtig verzorgde tuin. Ik kan dit hotel echt aan iedereen aanraden! De volgende dag werden we ook weer met de shuttle naar de luchthaven gebracht.

La habitación que nos dieron la segunda vez (nos alojamos 2 veces en dos semanas) está sucia, todo el suelo lleno de pelos largos, las sábanas aunque estuvieran lavadas tenían manchas, una de las toallas de manos estaba sucia. Las fundas de almohada alguna rota, una toalla rota, se nota que ya están muy usadas, son muy finas. Deberían ir renovando las toallas y sábanas. El buffet de la cena no es muy variado, aunque la comida está buena..

Le Sunrock Guesthouse est une oasis proche de l'aéroport. Les jardins sont très beaux et bien entretenus, les chambres sont grandes et confortables, les repas, servis sous forme de buffet, sont délicieux et très copieux. Pour se détendre, l'hôtel offre une piscine, une salle de sport et un billard. Autre point positif, l'hôtel offre les transports depuis et vers l'aéroport. Enfin le personnel est très sympathique. Une adresse très recommandable.

Guesthouse très agreable, très beau cadre extérieur, très proche de l'aéroport (10 minutes max). Nous avons pu faire une excursion le matin organisée par l'hotel, laisser nos valises à la reception et profiter du jardin l'après-midi en attendant le transfert à l'aéroport ce qui était très pratique. Ils ont aussi une très belle boutique de souvenirs !

Very close to Joberg airport with excellent shuttle service. Comfortable accomodation, garden oasis, tasty varied menu and helpful staff.

The property is welcoming, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The buffet dinner and breakfast are both good. The common areas are well maintained and spacious, both indoors, with a pool table, and outdoors, with a swimming pool.

Großer Bungalow mit guter Ausstattung, schöner Garten, kleines Abend- und Frühstücks-Buffet mit guter Auswahl. Kurzer Weg vom Flughafen, früher Check-Inn möglich, sicheres Parken in der Anlage.

Die Fenster sind nicht dicht und die Nächte waren im Juli somit ziemlich kalt.

Supervriendelijke mensen. Lekker eten. Het voelt als thuis maar dan op reis . Heel makkelijk dat er een shuttlebus was vanaf de luchthaven.

Beautiful property. Great place to hang out if you have an evening departure. Massages are amazing. Dinners are really good. 4th time to stay there because of reliable airport shuttle and a relaxing space to spend time if you need to relax before or after a long flight.

Waited 45 minutes for the shuttle pick-up from the airport. Did not have the opportunity to meet Authour or Ina. LOL!

Lo scarso isolamento acustico ti costringe a sentire sia i vicini che gli aerei in base di decollo o atterraggio. WiFi decisamente insufficiente nelle camere

Conveniently situated for the airport with an excellent airport transfer service, comfortable and clean, nice heated pool and very friendly staff. Buffet dinner was fantastic.

Wir waren positiv überrascht. Das Sunrock ist eine kleine Oase! Von aussen würde man dies nicht erwarten. Der Garten ist einfach traumhaft schön und die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll und komfortabel eingerichtet. Die Lage ist perfekt, nur ein paar Minuten vom Flughafen entfernt. Wir haben den Shuttleservice sehr geschätzt. Das Essen war sehr lecker! Auch die Masseurin, leider habe ich ihren Namen vergessen, hat ihre Arbeit super gemacht und war ausserdem sehr freundlich und aufgestellt. Wir können das Sunrock sehr empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

L'accueil et l'organisation pour les navettes de et vers l'aéroport, la literie, la taille de la chambre, la salle de restaurant assez atypique.

Le calme, l’ambiance , le restaurant, le tout à 5 minutes de l’aéroport . Le personnel est très agréable.

Nous avions réservé une grande suite familiale et nous avons eu une chambre classique avec 4 lits séparés. L’établissement n’a pas pu nous répondre à notre réservation. A qui la faute : l’établissement ou booking?

There is a bar open when you arrive late in the night. Will be nice if there are also some snacks (nuts/ crisps) available. The bathroom light switch was not at the bathroom entrance but at the room entrance which was a bit confusing.

Beautiful place, most often photos form a booking website make a place look way better than in reality, in this case the pics were spot-on. Wonderful premises, spotless, with perfectly manicured gardens, will definitely recommend for an airport stay.

We were just in and out, so could not get to enjoy the facilities to the fullest, there is a full restaurant and heated swimming pool as well as a pub with pool table

Het verwarmde zwembad (enige verwarmde dzt we hadden) was een leuke verfrissing na onze vlucht. De sfeer is hier heel goed en relax, heerlijk diner en ontbijt, gezellige gemeenwchappelijke ruimte en vlakbij de luchthaven.

A beautiful garden oasis, thoughtfully built and well maintained. We stayed for a short time and wished we had booked for longer. Friendly staff who allowed us to check in early after a long flight. And a heated pool to take the edge off the chill Johannesburg winter. The food was excellent.

The place was suprisingly pleasant. The gardens and decor is beautifull.

Beautiful, tranquil and only a short distance from the airport. Communication was brilliant and they were ready and waiting at the bus pickup point. Friendly and amazing value for money. We arrived early morning and managed to check in ahead of normal time. They even helped us order Uber Eats for our lunch. Dinner was lovely as was breakfast. Our apartment was brilliant to accommodate the 4 of us. And my word, hands down the best showier we’ve had in years! I also booked in for a 60min hot stone massage to destress at the start of my holiday. Simply amazing.

Super convenient to the airport it was like an oasis given the surrounds. The dinner and breakfast were both excellent and the staff friendly. Great value for money.

The sheets and towels are showing some wear and tear but clean so a minor thing.

Struttura top, sicura, per personale simpatico e estremamente disponibile, camere ampie e pulite, colazione a buffet dolce e salata ottima e varia, cena a buffet molto buona (si adatta bene a tutti i regimi alimentari). La piscina esterna riscaldata è una vera bomba, dei tanti servizi proposti (massaggi, spa, escursioni etc) noi abbiamo usufruito solamente della navetta da/per aeroporto gratuita (10 minuti dall'aeroporto). Assolutamente da tenere in considerazione in un prossimo viaggio in Sudafrica.

After our overnight flight, we needed some time to relax before continuing our adventures in South Africa. The accommodation was lovely, but what impressed me the most were the wonderful people. From the airport shuttle to arranging meals and a massage, everything was handled professionally and always with a smile. It was the perfect start to our holiday.

The location is perfect for staying before or after a flight. If you plan to visit the city centre, it's best to use a taxi.

We had a great 2 nights at Sunrock Guest House. We were able to relax, and enjoy the heated pool and gardens while we got over jetlag. Staff were lovely and the food was delicious. Airport transfers were easy. Communication with the guesthouse was good.

The place is beautiful. Clean bathrooms Clean, nice looking rooms Very friendly and helpful staff.

There is no air-conditioning. In the dead of winter we had a small room heater that had no impact on the room temperature. We had small children and they were all freezing. It's not humane.

Everything was perfect, from the airport pick-up and drop-off to the friendly staff, the dinner, the breakfast, and of course the spotless room. Everything you need for a relaxing and restful stopover. I would definitely stay here again.

This place was exceptional, I wish id stayed again on my return from Mozambique. The gardens, pool, restaurant and staff fabulous. Highly recommend and the boss riding his Harley into the restaurant was fantastic ( bike fan). Would defiantly go back and recommend.

Beautiful property with great facilities

Rooms were cold, no heater in main room, and water was not hot in the shower or bath.

De medewerkers die ons nog laat wilde ophalen op de airport en ‘‘s morgens al weer vrolijk klaar stonden om ons naar onze huurauto te brengen. Alles met een smile en wat ons betreft een prima plek dicht bij de airport. Je wil er je vakantie niet doorbrengen maar wel gezelliger dan zo’n groot airport hotel

Dinner and Breakfast were available on site. I chose the deal that entitled me to both as was waiting for a plane and did not want to go out. Excellent meals. Great decor though the dining room with taxidermy was a bit confronting. Great landscaping and artwork in the common areas. Heated swimming pool. Reception was very helpful and flexible for me and others. They have an excellent souvineer shop with reasonable prices. They booked a Soweto tour for me and then rearranged it when I had a flight change. Tour was exactly what we asked for and got us back in time for our flight.

Heated swimming pool was still be used at 9:30pm by some loud american playing Marco Polo. Our room was directly opposite. Area outside was not great but I have seen worse. No garbage, begging, broken windows or such. I feel I could have still walked by myself to the shopping centre nearby. The hotel is in a gated area and I had no need to leave.

It was a bit noisy with people coming and going early in the morning.

Hotel is really close to the airport and has excellent food. The grounds are well kept and they have a heated pool. The dining room has two fireplaces and decorated in a Safari theme with a wide variety of stuffed African animals. We couldn’t believe that they even have a huge stuffed giraffe! The staff was most welcoming and very helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay!

The accommodation made it very easy to communicate with the shuttle driver which made the travel less stressful for us. Their facilities was also very beautiful and we wished we had more time so that we could utilise them all!

The breakfast was good however their coffee was not great at all.

Airport transfers are easy and well communicated.

I loved the lovely gardens, buffet dinner and breakfast- so delicious and a variety of food to choose from, comfortable beds with a big choice of pillows, beautifully scented toiletries, and free large bottle of water in room. Nice hot water in shower and great having a warm duvet, extra blanket and wall heater for the cold Johannesburg winter nights. The staff are all friendly and helpful, from chefs, to drivers, to reception and cleaning staff. I have stayed here about 15 times and will keep this as my accomodation of choice. Great too, having transport to and from the airport included. So great to have the option for a massage or beauty treatment on site too!

A piece or two of the bedding was looking a bit worse for wear, but I pointed it out to a cleaning staff member, and it was immediately sorted.

Exceptional value and surprising little gem! Don't be deterred by the location, once you're in the guest house, you'll feel like you're in an oasis. The heated pool is phenomenal, I wish we'd had more time to enjoy it. Breakfast was fabulous, facilities are stellar (bar, spa, dining etc). The staff is extremely responsive and communicative, and will happily accommodate your needs. For example, I needed to pick up my car rental and they organized a driver to get me to the rental depot which wasn't located at the airport. I high recommend Sunrock as an alternative to staying at the airport hotels. We had a spacious room with 4 beds and plenty of space to unpack and repack our 4 large luggage pieces, 3 pieces of hand luggage and 4 personal items.

The location is convenient from the airport, but you'll have to be alert in the neighborhood once you leave the guest house and aware of your surroundings, just as you would be in all of Johannesburg I guess.

Felt like coming into someone’s home. The chef whipped me up a vego meal in 5 minutes, it was delicious!
