I got bitten by bugs. Update: the hotel management satisfactorily resolved my complaint. I am told they brought in professional cleaners to investigate and fix the issue.

The Area and the staff .

Friendly staff, free parking, nice and spacious room close to the city centre.

Was on the top floor and the roof didn't give too much room for the head due to the wooden bearings but everything else was great.

It was great value for money, and the staff were very helpful and attentive.

The room was kept clean the bed was comfortable and I slept well, the breakfast selection was very good although it could have been a little bit warmer and the staff were friendly and helpful

The stairs from the car park are a bit dirty and not as clean as the rest of the hotel

The location was ideal for where we needed to be. The room was large and newly decorated. Did not have breakfast so cannot coment on it. Could see that they were busy upgrading the hotel. Will be lovely when finished.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our visit, and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The room was clean, well presented and had everything we needed. The location was convenient, and the overall experience was great from start to finish. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back again. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

Our room was located in the basement and had a window. It was a spacious room with an attractive arched feature, containing a double bed and a single bed. The shower was excellent, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Overall, while the hotel could benefit from some updating, the room was comfortable and spacious.

The hotel is in need of refurbishment, as the building, breakfast room, hallways, and bedrooms all feel quite dated. The parking area is also very tight, which can make it difficult to manoeuvre larger vehicles. However, the hotel was clean and functional for a short stay.

No sweeteners provided in room for coffee etc. spoke with receptionist about this and he said it would be sorted.

Everything was too specially their stuff I met a Asian guy forgot his name maybe Ali he was really humble and welcoming also there was a lady at front office was very sweet I highly recommend this place to everyone

Well modernised bedrooms and facilities within a classic older building

Clean, comfortable, newly renovated to a high standard. Lots of small details such as usb sockets very well thought out. Extremely polite and courteous staff who cannot do enough for you. Will definitely be returning next time i am in the area. Thank you to all at Edgerton.

The staff were friendly and informative. The rooms were well equipped and clean. The location was perfect for my visit.

The outside of the hotel needs painting. Loose wall cappings in the car park. Just really needs a spruce up. Breakfast was cold, I was first down and it was still cold. Inferior quality ingredients were overcooked.

Great value and very convenient stay! I recently stayed at the Edgerton Hotel and had a lovely experience. The location is excellent—situated in a beautiful historic Victorian building just a 10-minute walk from Huddersfield town centre, with a bus stop right outside. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with a TV, fridge, and tea/coffee making facilities. The standout feature was definitely the modern bathroom and the incredibly powerful shower. The staff were polite and helpful throughout my stay. Having access to free Wi-Fi and secure, CCTV-monitored parking at the back of the hotel gave me great peace of mind. It’s a fantastic, budget-friendly option, and I would happily stay here again when visiting Huddersfield.

Basement room. Smelled fresh and was clean. Shower very good. Bed and pillows were comfy. Wasn't offered the breakfast but didn't need one anyway. Car park adequate.

Not so much a negative but it's a 24-hour manned desk that you buzz to get let in, I personally prefer to come and go as I please and can feel less secure as the door is just opened for whoever rings

Lack of tea/ coffee on this occasion. Hadn't been restocked, so only enough for 1 cup of tea for one. Likely just an oversight by busy staff.

Lovely old building, we had a large family room with a small but perfectly formed shower room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty to go around.

I arrived late and was able to go to bed soon after arriving. It was quiet. Clean. Tidy.

The shower door is coming off its runner in room 51. It was like that when I had a shower in the morning.

Room was adjacent to the reception desk. With an old door with cracks in it so sound and light traveled through the door.

The upgrade to a family room was spacious with a lovely shower

The winds wąs drafty as there gaps in the window when shut. No napkins on the table in restaurant, also there could tissues in the bedroom.

I loved the staff, Hanna-Faith was amazing! The shower and the comfy beds, the refrigerator and tea kettle in the room.

The check-in was OK, with a friendly, welcoming member of staff. The room was spacious with a good shower.

We were put in the family room next to reception which was noisy as we could hear a frequent phone alarm go off throughout the night plus the bathroom fan from our and the adjacent bathroom. The reception staff in the morning were clearly not trained to deal with customers or manage the breakfast service. We were made to feel like a nuisance when we asked for anything as they clearly didn't want to be distracted from their smartphones.

Service was excellent, hotel was fantastic, especially for the price. Very accommodating when we needed to make changes.

Awful hotel and night staff could not understand why the attic/cupboard was not fit for an adult. Shocking

I had a single bed room on the top floor. The small room has been designed really well to make good use of the space and felt very comfortable. It was also very clean which i appreciate. The person on reception, i think it was Esser (sp?) was polite, friendly and helpful. Even helped take my luggage up to the top floor. Free parking on site. A big park nearby and easy access to the city centre.

Shower cubicle very tight space struggled to get in and out. Slippery shower, would have appreciated shower mat option.

The room was too small for a double couldn't fit inside shower properly I always book this particular hotel but this time it was terrible also basement room kot properly vented feel clustofobic

The shower was great and the reception staff were friendly they were helpful when I had to extend my stay for an extra night.

Did not like the fact that we had to share the hotel with drug addicts, ex convicts and prostitutes I was personally asked for money and cigarettes I did not feel safe. Did not have change of towels or sheets all week. Phone or tv did not work. Hotel was not disable friendly.

Very friendly staff, lovely large room, very good shower and ensuite if not very large. Excellent value for money.

The room was too small, and the sloped ceiling made it difficult to stand up properly without hitting my head. The shower was also very small and uncomfortable to use. Additionally, I was disappointed to find that the cleaner entered the room and took tea bags from the complimentary tea box, which I found inappropriate and unprofessional.

Unclean bedding on arrival, quickly changed and an apology given but no further compensation offered. It would have been nice to have been offered a complimentary breakfast, for example. The room was old with the signs of wear and tear that you would expect.

Room 54 was on main road so a little noisy for us. Could have done with some hotel information in room.

Even the guest coming to drop something and leaving with in an hour 40 min max , had to pay 25£ for it ! The terms should clearly mention that any guest staying more than an hour should not allowed Thats really unfair paying 25£ for a guest who just came to drop stuff No parking space , it was sooo small that my side mirror got scratched- receptionist did not mention where to park As they have 2 parkings and one was completely full it took me 15 minutes only to find other parkings The room had bugs on floors and coming out from the side walls beside the fridge -

Never leave reviews but had to for my stay here. I arrived 8 minutes of a teams meeting and could not sort the wifi. The young gentleman on the desk (name began with ess...) was so helpful, I was under pressure to get set up and he really took the stress away, going above and beyond. He was very patient when I was struggling with wifi and in the end it turned out to be my fault it wasnt working. Its not often the youth of today give a service at that standard. Hes a credit to the team. Will visit again due to the genuine care of staff. The rooms and facitlities were great and the bed was one of the best beds I have ever slept in. Great job guys

Awesome room! Arched stone ceiling was brilliant! Way beyond expectation. Nice staff and bumped into the owner at reception who clearly really cared about his hotel and customers. I was there for a wedding nearby and I ended up showing people the room

The room had everything I needed in particular a fire TV so I could get Netflix etc - I booked a single room as was solo and they upgraded me to a double, which was very comfortable, more spacious and no extra charge. It’s great value for money and well equipped rooms.

Cheap

Gave me a room key and when I got there, there was a lady in bed who shot up naked. Shocking that the hotel made such a significant error. Room was dirty, communal areas smelt badly, bugs in the room (more than you would expect) and the bedding was stained with a yellow patch.
