We had a wonderful stay at L’Habitation Hotel, and what made it especially memorable was the warmth and genuine hospitality of the team. A special thank you to Rita, the hotel manager, who went above and beyond to make our stay meaningful. She had kindly acknowledged that we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and surprised us with a beautiful room featuring a stunning sea-view balcony. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made our celebration even more special. We would also like to give a big thank you to Agnita, who was incredibly helpful in planning our next hop to Praslin. She gave us an excellent plan and practical advice that made the transition smooth and enjoyable. The combination of the beautiful setting, comfortable room, and, above all, the exceptional hospitality made our stay at L’Habitation truly unforgettable. Thank you, Rita, Agnita, and the whole team for making our 20th anniversary trip so special. We would happily return and highly recommend L’Habitation Hotel!
Perfect!

The location and the stay was wonderful
Little more options in breakfast
good
nothing
Nette schöne Unterkunft, perfekt für Ruhesuchende
The breakfast was fair. It did not have lots of options as I expected, especially being a frequent traveller, I had to make a comparison, apologies. The location was great, as it was quiet and clean and also the staffs were kind.
I did not like the fact that I was charged for a buffet yet still had limited options to choose from. The food was very tasty and clean but the portion was not fair, especially the fact that lunch was not provided(this I was aware of when booking) Hence just relied on breakfast and dinner. I was not happy when I found out about paying for drinking water, that I assume could have been provided free of charge.
Amazing property directly on a beautiful beach, great restaurant and nice little house
The rooms aren’t very well soundproofed
The resort was extremely comfortable, it is a secluded island that gives you a chance to unwind and relax without any crowds. It's close to smaller main attractions. The beach is good for snorkeling and relaxing. The staff were friendly and personal.
We had to pay for water but since I stayed elsewhere in Seychelles it seems like you have to pay for water everywhere.
Breakfast was great. The location was particularly good. It was a lovely boutique style hotel and quite quiet and isolated slightly as there's not many people on Cerf Island. It's location very close to the St Anne Marine National Park was particularly good. It was only a short boat trip to Maahe the main island of the Seychelles.
There wasn't really anything we didn't like.
Great location near the beach & jetty. Good, regular boat travel to the main island. Generally good, varied dinners. Buffet nights were excellent!
Breakfast was the same offer every day which would have improved with a little variety.
It was very quiet great for someone who wants to relax away from everything the rooms had the veranda which was cool for taking a coffee with a view the room was quiet spacious
The fact that I had to pay for the water that should be the bare minimum especially that the area didn’t have any supermarket we were entirely relying on the hotel for food and drinks water should be free and available at all times , the food was very tasty however the portions were a bit small and buffet was not available for dinner or lunch I had to choose between 2 options for my meals and if I decide to have more it won’t be available as they are preparing exactly the amount needed which I find not ok for the money I paid other than that the staff working there were very friendly and helpful
Tutto!

Nice quiet place lovely remote

Situation. Calme. Très bon restaurant avec cuisine Créole
Nice and cosy
Bit expensive
Canoe and mask available for free
One of the four bed was very hard
In L'Habitation is a very beautiful place, with a well-kept garden. The rooms are well equipped and what's most important there is a very friendly atmosphere. We appreciated the calmness of the place. It's a perfect hotel for a relax. The served food is very tasty. We liked that we got fruits each morning. It was also nice that we were given some coconuts to test them directly from a tree. You have there waiters doing everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Although the check out was set at 10 a.m we could stay in our room as long as we needed. Thank you for that! You feel there as a welcome guest. We appreciated also a lot how the owner of the hotel behaved when the flights via Middle East were canceled because of the conflict there (June 2025). It was just a few days we were supposed to fly and we're afraid that we don't get to Seychelles but the owner didn't want us to be in a stress and told us that the reservation would valid till we could do the trip in the future. Thank you very much for that! It was very supportive and comforting. The other hotel we booked for the last two nights didn't take care and wrote to us it was our problem. When we come back we want to come back to L'Habitation and to the other hotel not.
Peaceful & beautiful location Some rooms have big terraces with views Helpful manager Good buffet food in the evening
A la carte food service was very slow Once you are there, you are confined to the property (apart from walking along the beach)
Lovely setting and very helpful staff. The rooms are dated, but spacious and functional. A boat with Dominic is a must - explored Moyenne island and had some great snorkelling.
amazing and quiet place - spacious and beautiful apartment - comfortable very relaxed and easy going - friendly and helpful people
A very nice place with a superb pool area. Nice view over Mahe's siluette. Outside the hotel was a cool beach bar and we had the most memorable time there. Locals coming over to Cerf for a good time, that's the best way of experience the real life in the Seychelles.
The atmosphere of the place felt a bit stiff and tense. A bit more of a chill feeling wouldn't hurt.
Good hospitality,clean and tidy. 🥰
Boutique hotel Made very welcome nothing too much trouble
Kayak had no motors !!!! Paddle around the island was hard at 60 !!!
The location is great, right on the beach and it was quiet and relaxing. The staff is absolutely great. All of them to be honest, from day 1 to the last day they were absolutely brilliant.
Really struggled with the quality of the food. Breakfast wasn’t value for money, dinner as well. I think the property needs to consider partnering with a restaurant that can handle the meals such as Sey Bar, Chatterbox. I was expecting to get a taste of the Seychelles but i didn’t until the my last day when i visited some restaurants on Eden Island. Was expecting more seafood based dishes and tropical cuisine but it turned out to be rather basic meals for the price we were paying. Price is really not an issue for me but for EUR 30 per person, it’s reasonable to expect a decent meal. Sheets were also not changed as often as i’d like. Every other day is reasonable.
Nice location, nice balcony. Nice staff. Good reception area. Good access to beach.
Bed too low. Nowhere to relax in the room.. There is no chance to purchase any snacks or drinks. Breakfast same all the time. Dinner was disappointing for choice.
Everything love the area very convenience, staff was very friendly,
Didn’t have hot water in the room.
Great location
House keeping and the attitude of the staff
V nicely located, grt kayaking , treks. Snorkel was not grt outside property but good on outdoor day trip . Grt food grt pool

Very beautiful, quiet. Free kayaks, beautiful beach and great snorkeling on the reef just in front. Very good food in the restaurant.
Not enough comfortable Beach chairs, only 2 chairs at the entrance. Not enough chairs. Pool was a bit cloudy. Everything closes at 9pm, even the bar.
Location. Good snorkling. Pool.
Room was a bit tired. Had a bath with a rubbish shower over it. Plug sockets were loose and some did not work. Got bit a lot here and no bites in the other 3 places we stayed at on Mahe. Lots of ants. Seaweed on the beach not raked up.
Meet by receptionist Caline who was very helpful and friendly. Older boatmen friendly. Pool was good. Snorkeling on the reef out front was good, saw sharks & rays.
Waiters functional and it felt at times we were being rushed. The food is ok but nothing special.
The room was very large. The pool was very nice.
The breakfast was not to diverse. I think it can be improved, but was ok nevertheless.
The owners were incredibly kind and very accommodating, the location was excellent, so peaceful and lovely staff. Definitely recommend
Very safe and family oriented atmosphere, thou it is a 3 star it was much better in every way from 4 star that we lived in Castello beach hotel in Praslin
No complains
Location is very good and Owner of hotel is helpful
The lady at reception want to go home coz of shift over due to which she was not listening to our query and was very rude. But everything was sorted by owner very nice lady
It was very quiet
Using the boat taxi
Lovely room and balcony. Fantastic location. Beautiful spacious gardens with good facilities.

This is the best location we have stayed in Seychelles! It is a perfect getaway for couples and families. The food at the restaurant is excellent--the hosts also recommend a local lunch spot literally next door on the beach surfing local delicacies (fish, Octopus, e.t.c). The rooms are perfect! We spent most of our time Kayaking all over the island and the property has free Kayaks you can borrow. Perfect! Perfect! perfect!
Excellente situation. Nourriture exquise. Calme. Gentillesse du personnel
Hopitality good food good bed room comfortable
Swimpool need too renouvette
Breakfast and Dinner
WiFi is free, but slow..
*the tiny island with a gorgeous view back to Mahé *friendly and relaxed hosts *well-kept lush gardens *nice private beach in front of the hotel *sea kayaks to rent for free
*costly meals and any boat transfer > better stay where you are and enjoy...
I think this deserves a bit more of an explanation. So Cerf Island is a small island with not much more to do than relaxing and swimming/ snorkeling. The hotel provides the space for this as you have a pool, some places to sit, kayaks to get to the good snorkeling spot, etc. Just be aware that there is no significant beach. The hotel itself has very nice rooms with balconies and good views. Interestingly though, the hotel tries to play in the luxury league, but falls short on many small things (see below). One things that should be mentioned is the hike that is on the island. It is not long and not crazy hard, but be aware that it is a dirt path in the jungle and you need to know where you are going. Get the description at the reception and make sure to turn left at the "Private Property" sign. And wear good shoes, it might be slippery.
As mentioned, the hotel is good, but doesn't reach the luxury category they try to claim. As good as the rooms are, they are fairly loud and the internet is often very slow. And is it the lonesome island, I don't think so. The airport is on the other side of a channel and there is quite some boat traffic, especially when the rich and famous harboring on Eden Island need to test their new toys. The next thing that needs mentioning and was picked up in many reviews is the restaurant. This is a bit of a peculiar thing. You get your table with your number and are somehow not allowed to join other tables without telling them. And then you have to order the dinner during the day, which I understand from a management point of view, but it was never mentioned to me, thus creating a weird situation. Breakfast was OK, not amazing. Dinner is not included, so be aware that you have to pay. And this is the main point, it is not cheap. A standard creol curry comes for around 300 SCR (20 Euro). The portions are OK, but with a soda, a dessert, and a cocktail you very quickly reach 750 SCR (50 Euro). And that is a bit steep for a meal. And I think this is also my main point of criticism. It is all OK and nice, but the price tag is too high for what you get in the end.
The L'Habitation accomodation is located on a nice island close to the Mahe coast. A short boat transfer will bring you straight to their jetty from Eden Island (which by the way leaves in front of the Maharaja Indian restaurant). The hotel offers several double rooms and a few standalone villas rented out as Junior Suites. There is a restaurant on premise, a pool and deck chairs that should be enough for all guests, even if the hotel is fully booked. The grounds are well maintained and there is a sandy beach right along the resort. Unlike other reviews we found the breakfast rather sufficient. There was a choice of buffet style items like toasts, pancakes, yoghurts and juices but you could also order complementary eggs in various styles as well as a ham and cheese plate from a breakfast menu. Dinner was set at 7pm in the small restaurant and the food was good and the portions sufficient. However, the dish had to be picked in advanced in the afternoon and there was always something on the menu that they didn't have anymore, which was OK though. The staff was super-friendly and helpful and the room was nice and clean with a working aircon. They have free kayaks for three hours which you can use to paddle to Long or especially Round Island (during low tide) for an amazing beach experience (hotel staff does not recommend to paddle there, but if you have done kayaking before, it's not a big deal. That said, use your own caution to decide!)
When we booked this hotel, we read all the infos about how to get there and what to expect and if it is possible to go to other restaurants during our stay. Well, here are our experiences: 1. Transfer Apparently, depending on where you booked the hotel, you get different "packages". On booking.com you can only book bed-and-breakfast (no half board) and the transfer from/to the hotel is NOT included. Basically, you need to add 10 EUR per person to the hotel price. Additionally, there is no free transfer to Eden Island during your stay. You need to pay for each roundtrip per person, i.e. if you want to go to Eden to buy some stuff in the supermarket, you need to add these expenses. 2. Other restaurants The entire island is basically private property or inaccessible. You can only walk along the beach (at low tide) or to the other side via the jungle trail. If low tide is not in your favour, you cannot reach any other restaurants for dinner. Maybe only Villa de Cerf (but we didn't try that). So you are stuck with the local restaurant. During lunch time there is a beach bar opening up with a creole BBQ for daytrip snorklers. This is a good option to fill your belly for a reasonable price. 3. Water Stock up on drinking water before you go there, since there is no free water provided by the hotel, other than a 0,5l bottle per person when you arrive. All other bottles need to be purchased at the restaurant. It would have been nice to at least get one bottle of water per person and night for free during the stay - guess it also wouldn't hurt too much financially. 4. Prices Well, restaurant prices are more or less common Seychelloise prices, which means: high. Beer is expensive. Best trade-off I found was a bottle of wine. So it doesn't surprise that there is no bustling bar scene at night. Bottom line: when you book there via booking.com be sure to stock up on at least water in Eden Island before you go.
It is an excellent option to enjoy the beaches of Mahe, the island of the hotel has beautiful beaches very close, you can go kayaking or paying for an excursion. The food was always good and the attention more. It is a quiet place to retire for a few days and do whatever activities you like, or simply lie down on the lounge chairs that are all over the place! There are corals nearby to snorkel, and you can use the snorkeling equipment for free as well as the kayak.
There were no multi-standard socket in the room(at least not the one I needed.)
We enjoyed the quiet island life, and meeting similar travellers. The room was good.
As Cerf is such a small island, there is no alternative for eating out, and the food was nothing special, and not cheap.
Cerf Island is beautiful and this hotel is run by lovely people. Loved having the pool, sunbeds and cabana beds to relax on. Great snorkelling from the jetty!
A mosquito net over the bed would be good.
We really enjoyed the hotel and its' surroundings, it was easy to relax and the beach was easy accessible. We also appreciated that we could use kayak for free (and also snorkeling equipment, although we had our own). We used the kayak every morning (the have three) and thus we have experienced a fantastic vacation with wonderful views around the beaches. At the beaches around the island we were pretty much alone (except La Moyenne), they were easy to reach and made it possible to snorkel a lot. We had breakfast included which was OK, strong coffee :-), bread to toast, different dishes to order separate but included (omelette, cheese and ham, eggs etc.), pancakes, fresh fruits and juices. At lunch time we either visited the neighbour's barbeque lunch (boats with tourists from main island came for a barbeque lunch at 13.30), but we had lunch also at the hotel. Our favourite was to share sandwiches with tuna-mayonnaise and cold beers (we aren't that hungry in the middle if the day). Dinner is a fixed 3 course menu for 450 Sey/Rupies or a la carte. Prices was in par/just below what you will pay for dinner in Sweden for the level of cooking (good). The staff was very friendly and helpful (we exchanged the pillows to softer and smaller one) and the hotel and pool arena is kept clean and nice. Air condition worked perfectly! This is a perfect place for a getaway from work. It is so close to the airport and main island so it is easy to get here. Our flight was late in Saturday evening (19.35) so we decided to choose a late checkout at 16.30 and we booked the hotel boat for transfer to Eden Island Our departure time was out of the schedule). We thought it was worth to be able to have a relaxing day with kayak and pool relax before leaving. We strongly recommend it and we'd love to come back!
Beautiful place and island. Kayaks great to get to the bay full of stingrays and grwat views on the other eastern side or to the marine park north east or the southern end with the small island. Can also walk through the jungle to the bay, family friendly climb. Good breakfast and nice choice of dinner at typical restraunt prices. Nice beaches along the western shore north and south of the hotel. Expected more in terms of stuff in the water for snorkeling, but can kayak to the marine park or see the stingrays.
Matresses could be better. The pool is deep so be carefull if staying with small children
The staff were incredible! So friendly and welcoming and super helpful. The chef was just the happiest smiliest person we’ve ever met. Lovely remote location - felt like a total escape. The wine menu was great and much more reasonably priced than the rest of the Seychelles. Free kayaks were great for exploring the island and they whatsapped you perfect directions for the trail to the other side of the island.
We had a corner bath with a shower over it, you had to close the curtains to shower or you might flash a neighbour on their balcony :)
the location, the rooms, the staff, the view, the facilities,. the breakfast
some more options for kids for lunch and breakfast
Amazing very secluded location with a great view. Perfect to switch off for a few days. Would definitely come back here!
Both the included breakfast and the a la carte menu were average and a bit overpriced. In the inclusive breakfast buffet water is not included and water available for additional purchase is 4x the price as on the main island.
Nice little hotel on the beach side, nice pleasant room, wholesome meals and super friendly staff. One can also hire a kayak free of charge to explore the waters around the island. Top service and a very pleasant stay.
My other half was a bit disappointed with the ham and cheese platter offered at breakfast. Other than that, nothing else wrong.
The location was perfect! It was on a small island ( Cerf island) and that gave us the possibility to go around with kayak and explore the corners- what a beautiful paradise! You can also go to the other side of the island by foot through the woods. It's a bit challenging but you will be rewarded with a nice beach and snorkelling spot when the tide is high. The hotel has its boat transfer schedule for going to main island/ Mahe and get back. The restaurant is also good. it serves both Creole cuisine and other foods and there is also a buffet restaurant near the hotel which serves grilled fish and Creole food ( only for lunch). You can get free snorkeling equipment and kayak from the hotel. The hotel is more beautiful than the pictures here 😌
There was nothing to dislike really, we had a great time there. One thing though, if you do not have a good relationship with lizards and geckos do not leave the doors and windows open and turn the air conditioner on 😁
The location
The staff was rude, our room didn’t have hot water in the shower and the food was expensive and small portions with having no other options to dine
We visit this place for a second time. We like almost everything. The food is amazing, a clean and nice place for relaxing. We choose this place for a first one after arrive every year because it is quite and really great for visiting Marine park St Anna and Moyenne island. Thay have a boat taxi several times per day from Eden to Cerf. We stayed in the hotel part and also in the villas and like both of them. The best place in Cerf and we really enjoyed all time there.
The one person from the staff of thr restaurant was not really good for that beautiful and nice place... The price of the drinks are really high. The lights on the bottom of the pier are missing and this year we couldn't have a chance to watch the sea live at the evening.
If you want a quiet, relaxing place to stay, then this is the place to stay. Located on Cerf Island, which is a 20-minute boat trip from the Seychelles capital, Victoria, and the hotel has a regular ferry service. The food is good with very friendly restaurant staff. However, because the hotel is small (only 24 rooms), one of the staff walks around the hotel grounds in the afternoon to ask the guests what they would like for dinner and at what time. Guests have a choice of al la carte or table d'hote. Being small this method makes sure there is very little food waste. There is excellent snorkeling off the hotel jetty and, if you like walking along the beach, an even better place for snorkeling is at the north end of the island. Doing this walk you will need water shoes as you do have to wade around the rocky parts of the beach so remember to take notice of the tide. There are no roads, only paths. This means no traffic disturbance to your relaxation. Crossing to the other side of the island is possible through the jungle and over the mountain taking about an hour. You have to be reasonably capable to do this. The reward is a good snorkeling spot if it is high tide. Dominique will organize snorkeling to other reefs in his speedboat, which also includes a bit of fishing, and this turned out to be a very good trip. We even saw a whale shark. Dominique will organize with the restaurant to cook any fish caught for dinner, which turned out to be an excellent idea. For those who want the internet be warned. Internet speed is slow and bandwidth is narrow. Solution -- go snorkeling and relax on the beach or by the pool. If you have a late flight from Seychelles, the hotel will arrange a room with a shower in the late afternoon. This allows for checking out in the morning, but still enjoy hotel facilities before leaving. This hotel is definitely recommended and we shall probably return for another wonderful time.
After a tsunami and Covid problems in Seychelles, the hotel is a little ragged around the edges. However, the rooms are comfortable and the hotel staff is good at looking after you.
everything, location amazing, staff lovely, rooms beautiful clean and comfortable, food was fantastic
