The suite was a good plan and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked.
The whole resort is very poorly maintained, Carpets are worn with threads sticking out, the pool was poorly cleaned, the halls and elevators are worn and often dirty, The 1 st suite the first night in Soleras was not clean, my slippers were filthy from the carpets, the three tv’s in the 2nd reservation of Aug. 28th - 31st were all small, the 2nd bedroom tv didn’t work, the living room tv only worked sometimes, the fireplace in the master bedroom didn’t work. The resort needs serious maintenance. I stayed last year and it has changed badly since then.
Space was great
The carpets were not clean
Nice room in a good location.
There was no staff, when we checked in the room was not ready so we sat in our car in the parking lot for over an hour waiting for the room to be ready. I asked for more towels, the response through the messages was always polite and timely, but I didn't receive the towels. The room was nice, but dated and the door to the bathroom barely opens as it's too close to the toilet.
Clean. Comfortable
Check in time wasn’t respected. It was later than what was committed on the reservation as the rooms weren’t ready. Location and facilities were decent. No restaurants or nearby eating places. So everything was a walk or a short drive
Nice condo style room.
Check in was extrenely difficult. Our electronic link didn't work. Phoned repeatedly over 2 days - talked to three people who could not give me a good link. . Finally, they told me to check in at a hotel down the road. This added anxiety - going to a wedding in a resort town on a long weekend and not sure we can check in. Traffic leaving that second hotel made getting to our destination difficult. Finally got to our room and my husband sat on the bed- it made a load creaking sound and on inspection the mattress was caved in. The box spring was broken. No front desk so had to phone for help. They offered us a 3 bedroom in a different building for one night then a 2 bedroom in our original building the next two nights but with a busy wedding weekend and mobility issues we couldn't move back and forth. They sent a maintenance guy. He was great. The bed was irreparable. So our grandson ended up staying in another room instead of with us. No $ compensation. No apology. Laundry area had 2 used contact lenses and a wine cork beside the ironing board- other than that cleaning was good. Interesting - last people in the suite where the owners - so they didnt report the damaged bed??? Parking after hours required your room code. It didn't work for several people (picture cars doing u - turns on the ramp to the parkade). Our son's code didn't work so he parked a 10 minute walk away and then had to get up to move his vehicle before 8am or it would be towed. So no front staff means NO HELP. Room was nice but our 2 bedroom unit only had one good bed - not what we expected with $4000+ for 2 - 2 bedroom units for 3 nights. Our second room was just fine.
I did like the location . It was awesome
To confusing to find the room .
Very nice clean property, very well equipped.
Location and amenities for the price was a good value.
We had to call to have the freezer serviced, the toilet made a loud dripping noise, bathroom sink facet was leaking out onto the counter top. The kitchen sink faucet was leaky, the electric fireplace didn’t work. Signage throughout the property was vague.
The location, absolutely beautiful. Place was beautiful too.
No one at front dest to help. Didn't get a call by 4, then when I tried calling it took several times to get thru to someone for my room number and code. Parking was difficult because some took up more than one spot. Also spent about an hour helping 3 Korean guys as I was heading to hot tub with daughter. They didn't get any info on room number, code and they didn't even have a number to call anyone. I really think you need to rethink the communication part of all this. Absolutely confusing and frustrating.
The view of the mountains other than that the property is run down and it shows. There are so many newer better places and locations to stay at in Canmore.
Everything. The lighting was terrible, it was old, amenities were horrible, no staff everything done remotely online through the app,
I like the room its family friendly
The pool access the staff told us that we have the pool access but we need a longer walk but irequested to pool access nearby our room because we have baby that loves water , but we end up not using because its way too far in our room
The room was nice and had all that wr needed.
The check-in process and getting into the parkade seem more complicated than necessary.
The beds were comfortable and the view we had of the mountains was amazing. Location was good, away from the highway but close enough to walk into town or get on some trails. Wellness on-site spa was reasonably priced and looked very clean.
Online check in had glitches and no front desk person. Had to drive to another place to get checked in. Resort rep was not as helpful as I have experienced. Our particular unit was very run down. Only 1 of the 3 fireplaces worked. No maintenance person available to help us in person. The dishwasher worked but was not anchored into place - could lead to water leaking below! Carpet in smaller side of unit was ripped and torn. Noisey dog next door. Rep told us to ask tennet to keep dog quiet as they didn't manage that unit. Picture showed an outdoor hot tub but it was indoor and smelled heavily of chlorine.
Full equipped kitchen , location was good close to Canmore downtown.
Pillows were very uncomfortable, pool was a bit dirty,
Location
The room was not completely clean, we did not get access to the room at 4pm as the check in email did not arrive. The toll free number left us on hold far too long. We had to drive to the siste r property to get checked in and get our room code. This was a 2 hour ordeal. There are no carts to be found. We had to purchase toilet paper as there was not enough for the 3 nights. There was not enough dishwasher pods for the 3 nights. We have been coming here every easter for the last 9 years. We will no longer come back to the solara or any property that is managed by bellstar.
The location is great and you can walk everywhere
The room and facilities like the pool are becoming run down and not well maintained
Very nice and clean,very comfortable
It's missing some broshurs about Canmore ,and pass for Banff
Loved how spacious the accommodations were. Plenty of room and amazing vistas of the mountains. Very well appointed.
Frying pans need to be replaced and we needed a dishcloth - otherwise everything else was excellent.
Great location and good value for money
Not being manned as we had problems getting into our block and there was no one to speak to
Underground parking
Size of room
Check in process Car parking process Decor of room Missing TV in one room Old TV's in other rooms No one on site to talk to Rip in carpets Furniture in main room Pictures on booking.com clearly did not show what the actual room was like.
The heater was broken, and it was very cold. If you’re planning a weekend getaway, I recommend choosing a place where everything should be working. There were no front desk staff willing to help, and I was told all the units were privately owned. After three hours, I finally found helpful people at another location who gave us an electric heater. Overall, the experience was very bad.
Spacious 2 bedroom with great view.
L’espace de la chambre, des salles de bain, la propreté et les équipements. La réactivité des retours par mail quand nous avions une question.
Le jacuzzi en panne dès notre 2eme jour (très très froid), le nombre de vaisselle un peu juste.
The apartment was large.
The fittings were a bit worn and the lift was unreliable.
I was supposed to get a text message or email at 4pm yesterday regarding check in, and it arrived at 4:40. I had to drive to another hotel to talk to staff directly (since no one answered the phone). Very disappointed. Also feel that the cleaning fee was a hidden charge and not clearly outlined in the price. Disappointed with my experience. Bathtub was dirty.
Unit had everything we needed, lots of storage space, towels, dishes etc. Very comfortable beds. Great location.
Found checkin procedure a bit difficult as am not used to digital check-in and no one at reception desk to help. Eventually a phone call to help-desk successful
I find it amazing that theres living room. Patio. Kitchen and laundry.
Short check in and early check out.
Great place to stay
We had a wonderful stay in this cozy condo with an amazing mountain view. The place was warm, comfortable, and truly felt like a home away from home. Everything you might need was provided, which made our stay very easy and relaxing. The check-in app and overall process were extremely smooth and very didactic—clear instructions and no stress at all, both for check-in and check-out. Overall, a lovely place to stay in Canmore with beautiful views, great comfort, and an easy, well-organized process. We would definitely consider staying here again.
The only pool access from our building was going down till the parkade and after you had to walk through the parking lot and get in from there. Definitely not a good experience regarding this aspect and it was not mentioned at the booking process.
Location was good and “premium suite” was great
-Less an $25/night price difference between the premium and mountain view room but the quality of room difference was significant. The mountain was significantly overpriced in our opinion. - both suites only had 1 roll of toilet paper (no extra) and 3 garbage/recycling bags, this was an issue as we stayed for 4 days and had to go purchase some - booked two suites together and they were in different buildings. The staff said I should have phoned before to confirm they were together (but I booked them together?). Initially said she couldn’t do anything because we booked through bookings.com, but then said she just couldn’t do anything as everything else was booked. -the gym is a 3rd party access with weird hours, unfortunately not like a standard hotel gym so unable to access with stat holidays.
My wife and I have booked annual stays at Solara for a few years now and have always enjoyed it. The rooms are clean and spacious and we like the available, on-stite amenities.
I wasn't impressed to learn about the extra $135 cleaning fee when I booked our room, and no housekeeping offered during our 4-day stay. Not a fan of the less for more idea, especially when we're already spending $1,000 to stay here.
Clean and cozy
Had to walk outside the building to get to the pool
The two bedroom condo was beautiful, spacious, well appointed. The staff were easy to access online and very helpful. It was a pleasant surprise to find out there were also a pool and hot tub.
We couldn’t adjust the temperature above 22 which felt cool and the fireplaces didn’t give much heat. The hallways were shabby. We couldn’t figure out how to access the pool without going outside.
Spacious, very clean, quiet room.
Parking wasn't explained well prior to booking or our stay, very confusing when we arrived. No direct access to parkade from where our room was so hauling luggage & things was a pain.
The location is stunning!
The furnishings are high quality but dated and need replacing/ deep cleaning.
We have a double room and we only have two bathrobes. We should have four for four people
Easy process start to finish. Had to call upon staff for a couple minor items and response was quick and helpful. Excellent location.
No front desk staff pathetic. Girl at front was rude. Barely spoke english. Left the area when others beeded helptold us all to call the #....luckily found out to go to grand rockies for help they were very friendly and helped us out. Unsure why they have 2 staff to help customers out and solara has none. Wont b back. Not our first time here. Our 3rd time.
Beautiful stay all around!
Easy parking, room is comfortable and clean.
Not impressed with facility at all, no one to talk to no reservation code to get into my place wrong email
The condo space was lovely and clean. It was our favourite part of the Solara.
The parking was absolutely horrible. The parkade was always full, and cars that didn’t belong to Solara guests would park there. Given each parking level was associated with each building and elevator access, we spent so much time hauling luggage and bags walking through the different levels of the parkade to get to our elevator building. The most ridiculous part? One elevator per building access from the parkade. We waited 20 minutes on the day of my daughter’s wedding because there were folks with massive amounts of bags and family members waiting in line for ONE ELEVATOR. NEVER AGAIN. This issue was so bad and inconvenient that the cost of the accommodation was way too high to have such a ridiculous access issue. I do not recommend this place for this very reason. We found nicer properties with easier access for the same money. We travel to Canmore regularly.
Mountain view was awesome and the actual property was great. However, they were supposed to give us out check in code at 4pm-which we were there for then they didn't, I tried messaging (they completely ghosted me) and tried calling the number but the mail box was full. They gave the code 20 minutes late (those 20 minutes were spent worrying that we had some how been scammed) and then would not answer me about a late checkout-after all they owed me 20 minutes.
Do not like the digital check-in. Software unreliable.
Could not change temperature it was set to high and could not sleep properly.
location
no human staff presence hotel supplies were limited
location
self service and no human interaction
Check-in and maintenance issues with the unit. There is no front desk staff so all issues require calling and being on hold several minutes and having to call back several times trying to get issues resolved. Would not stay here again.
Would be appreciared if coffee and tea was avaliable even though its a basic. Fureplace wasnt working and sofa was very uncomfortable. King room had no tv. Once checkin communication was non existent.
Make sure all accessories are working and have enough of waste bags, toiletries in the room as they do not have service available
We liked the room and could see the mountain from the balcony. The toaster burnt the bread and the coffee maker was difficult to use. The room was well stocked with shampoo etc…. Overall we had a good experience.
The restaurant on site is amazing. Like the others, I missed having a physical desk on site especially at this price
Not organized
Good home stay property away from home
The elevator was broken and we were on the third floor.
Carpet need replacement - floor wasn’t very clean.
The kingsize bed was good quality. Everything else was something less than that, most especially the non-existent customer support (including TWO telephone numbers that are no longer in service!), though the quality of the appliances was also good.
Very spacious.
Hated the fact that we were told our code would get us into the front door when this was not the case. I had talked to someone about it but it was never resolved. Very inconvenient to get in and out of the building. Also not enough sugar and basic supplies like other Air B&B’s. Bbq was dirty and the last time it was used flipped the breaker so we had to reset the plug ourselves. Outdoor furniture is as also dirty and had bird droppings on it. Nothing to clean it with.
location was good. Staff was responsive
Rooms felt a little dated. Staff was responsive, however i found the bed smaller in the 2nd room and i also had a defective laundry washer which made things a bit of a mess.
Beautiful view of the mountains. The suite was nice except the cleanliness of the floors. My families feet were black not even 5 minutes of walking around the suite.
We have really enjoyed our stay at this property, breakfast was delicious our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you
Stunning views and spacious
Only one garbage bag in the suite. A 10 am checkout time seems early considering check-in is 4pm
Great location and property
The check-in process is painful. The elevator didn’t work. No one really explained how to check in or check out of the building. They say they sent stuff via text message that was never delivered. The building is very dated and rundown fixtures were ripped out of the wall in our room. The carpet is ripped and dents and dings in the wall. Fingerprints on everything. I went to wipe a mess off the floor and was disgusted with the black color of the cloth Indicating how filthy the kitchen floor is. This is a property in desperate need of a renovation and way overpriced for what is there? I would not recommend staying there and I would never stay there again.
Keep up the good work
The property was in very good state, the swimming pool facilities are very good, the grounds have very nice and lush greenery it is very quiet,i would stay in this property again 100%,very happy with them
I booked two bed room for 8 people, one king , two Queen and one sofa bed, but when I check in in front desk they give me two bed room , but with only one king and one queen, I have to squeeze me and my husband in a one queen size, I talked to front desk, but they side they don’t have room for 8 people. They side it is Expedia got wrong.
Sink in the bathroom doesn’t drain, some utensils are not clean, floor in bad condition, carpet looks worn out, and the lighting is bad and depressing.
Location and two bedrooms for that rate love that
Ac broke and booking ppl never responded and we could sleep half the trip bc the ac didn’t work
Very disappointed, the blinds some are broken, cannot open properly, wifi was not stable, dropping packages. Only has a small pool sharing with three building.
The location and view were excellent.
I had to call multiple times to get my check in code. It was not bad but the self check in steps can be explained better including parking.
So far so good
good location
Expensive enough(2400$ +) for 3 nights stay around Canada Day holiday. Surprise to our expectations, as we were there the first day, it was after 4pm, there’s no front desk to help us accommodate ourselves in. We only got simple SMS and after replying with information, then no one’s giving any keys or credentials or any form of information of even the room number we were supposed to stay. After making several calls to different sources of contact for more than half an hour, there’s a guy answered our call, but instead of appeasing our angers, the helpdesk online was rude to us, barely put us on hold while they worked out the check-in system, and the line dropped while we waited, and we had to call back, then another helpdesk answered the call and finally helped us through the check-in process. And after we parked the vehicle, we found all the elevators were under renovation, and we ended up with lifting luggage’s up to the 3rd floors, it was almost 1and a half hours after we arrived, we had seniors and kids, they were totally exhausted. Then we called the helpline again, trying to ask for an explanation of this series of incidents, after negotiations, the helpdesk did finally agreed to reimburse us 10% of the total cost, but she said it’s through booking so it would take some time. We accepted, just didn’t want to be involved and therefore ruin the whole day with this unpleasant check in experience. Nevertheless, the stay was good, it’s spacious and close to groceries and restaurants. The funniest thing is, when I commented this on Jul 29, it’s almost a month after the stay, I still haven’t seen any sign of reimbursement back to our bank, nor any messages from the hotel or bookings explaining something. It’s the worst accommodation experiences we had in Canada for years. I admitted that there’re plenty hotels in Banff/Canmore which are very good, but certainly not this hotel.
Good location and views
Suites / Apartments are very well equipped. Beds very comfortable. We were in the middle of our stay in Canada, washing machine and dryer helped a lot. Resort has a small pool, kids used it and had a great fun. Gym is very nice, opened only till 19:00 during our stay. Parking is in the underground garage, elevator and you are in the room..
Check-in is online, if something doesn't work and you came to facility, no one is there to help. Service line / chat are working well. A bit longer distance to the city centre (30min).
It was very difficult to figure out the check in. There was a few broken things in our room as well. Overall it was a good stay. Not sure what to do about check out
Elevator broken.
We liked that it had a washer and dryer and a full kitchen. The online staff were very helpful with helping us navigate the check in process and an issue we had with the dryer.
Peeling paint. Extremely worn carpet. Funny smell. Multiple faucets leaking. Stains on Comforters/Linens Not enough Linens for the sofa bed Towels were extremely worn and ratty. The opposite of "spa-like" This looks (and sells itself) like a beautiful, high-end hotel/resort/spa, but our actual room (B306) was more comparable to a dated Motel 6 or Super 8. The location was OK, but not worth the $725USD/night. Would not recommend.
Rashi was extremely helpful and patience while trying to find an alternative place for us to stay at a very busy season. She worked hard to try to make a terrible situation workable. Even offering an additional accommodation if we were not pleased with the size of the new unit. She also reduced the price and gave us a bottle of wine.
I had an accommodation reserved. A 2 bedroom Mountain View in Aurora Suites. I upgraded to a 2 bedroom deluxe suite. When I did it, the message said the elevators were being worked on. I called later to cancel one of the units. I spoke to a young man and asked about the elevators and if the ungraded unit was in that building and he said no. I explained to him we were 4 seniors with 2 of us having walking issues. He assured me again that there was not an issue. I cancelled the smaller unit. On the day I had not received my check-in info. So I called the # on the reservation. I spoke with Rashi and they had sent it but it must have gone to my “junk” file. It was a good thing, because the unit was in the building with the elevator issue. Rashi worked hard at 4 pm no vacancies, to find us a unit in another building with a working elevator. Finally she found a smaller unit. If the unit was too small, she offered an additional 1 bedroom unit, but it was in another building. A 5 minute walk away. That was not a workable situation. So, we took the 2 bedroom unit she found. It was OK, just disappointing. She offered a $250 credit, which is what the upgraded unit was and a bottle of wine. The only check-in information sent by text was the building, unit code and wi-fi info. No parking or garage info. I stopped at the Solars building to find out the info. No one there. Closes at 6. We asked around and called Rashi who told us how to get to the building from the Bow building from the Solara office, but not the garage. I asked several people outside and they explained the garage parking. It was all very confusing and after a long drive frustrating. The next day I went to the Somsrs office and spoke to a nice young woman, that the Solara office had nothing to do with our unit. Another office, I believe Rocky something. She was not at all helpful and kind of snippy. I was not rude, so confused by her attitude. I called Rashi again.
The location was great.
The place was dusty and outdated. The code sent to me didn't work, had to get a new one at 2am. Safe didn't work, nor the wifi. The fireplace in the bedroom was broken.
All was great except one glitch — we were told the aurora building would be under renovation, yet it was not said the elevator was not working. We were on the 3rd floor (actually 6-flights of stairs) and it was a rad bit of a pain. Although the hotel tried to make it fun, as if we were doing a step challenge:!) The place itself was great. Good linens, all amenities, super location, walking distance to Canmore village — comfy beds, good shower and really nice landscape.
Accommodation was amazing. All our expectations were met. Convenient location, very close to downtown Canmore and miraculous view of nature around. Did not have a chance to use Spa facilities but it is a great bonus to the place 😊
The aurora building elevator was not working so we had to take the stairs each time. Also, check in for the property in the beginning was difficult since there is no front desk and wanted like me to take a picture of myself prior to check in which could not upload on the Expedia message. Email did not go through whoever agent was asking for it for check in and the lady at the other end of the line barely spoke proper English. Also, the Spa is not “connected” to the resort, it’s its own separate entity even though it’s right there next to the resort. you need to pay extra for and took a rather long time to sign up. However, the pool and hot tub come with the resort and was rather nice
