Our stay at Ayara Kamala Resort & Spa was truly exceptional and exceeded all our expectations. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, very clean, and offers breathtaking views. The service was outstanding, and every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. A very special thank you to Jaew, who assisted us through WhatsApp throughout our stay. She was incredibly kind, attentive, professional, and always quick to help us with every request. She arranged our activities and transportation perfectly and made our entire holiday smooth and stress-free. We would also like to sincerely thank our driver, Park. He was extremely polite, friendly, punctual, and helpful, and we always felt safe and comfortable with him. Jaew and Park made our experience even more memorable. Their exceptional hospitality is one of the main reasons we would happily return to this wonderful resort.

There was absolutely nothing we disliked about our stay. Everything was wonderful, and the service exceeded our expectations. We had a perfect experience from beginning to end.

Amazing resort, with excellent facilities either our room or their restaurant for breakfast lunch or dinner. Very clean and helpful with everything. The location is perfect because you can have quiet time or you can easily go to all the major spots in Phuket.

The staff was so kind lovely and helpful every single one of them. The services , food in the restaurant and the spa was so great.

It is a bit far if you do not mind staying far from the services and the town , We stayed in 2 bedroom suit with private pool it was too small and narrow but the swimming pool was nice.

Everything was exceptional without a single flaw! The service was outstanding, the views were breathtaking, and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly, and upon our arrival, the whole family was treated to a complimentary massage. The hotel offers a tennis court, a fully equipped gym, a sauna, and a top-quality spa. Our room was like something out of a dream — a huge two-bedroom suite with a bathtub, two showers, and two toilets. There is also a free shuttle service running throughout the day between the hotel, the beach, and the town. I highly, highly recommend this hotel!

The Ayara Hotel is exceptional. We have travelled the world for decades and stayed in many hotels from the most luxurious chains to quaint boutique hotels and the Ayara is the best hotel we have stayed in for a balance of value for money, charm, location and above all else the staff. The staff at the Ayara are simply the best. The best in the world. Chef Tom and his team are absolute masters of Thai and fusion cuisine. The breakfast is fantastic. There is an a la carte breakfast menu with amazing egg dishes, Thai delights and local fruit and fish. There is also a buffet menu with delicious pastries and Asian dishes. The stand out dinner dish is Chef Tom's roasted duck curry - amazing! The bar and restaurant team of Ning and Nick were amazing and they were the perfect hosts - friendly, attentive and full of local knowledge and charm. The bartenders (sorry, I didn't get the names) produced amazing cocktails for us each night (several times!) with the happy hour a most welcome treat. There are also daily complimentary activities such as Thai cooking with Chef Tom, cocktail making and market day strolls. All brilliant. The room we had was superb. It opened out onto the pool area and we had a complimentary minbar, a wonderful shower and a great spa bath. The decor was lovely and the choice of scented candle was a very nice touch. There is a small gym that does the job of lessening the impact of Chef Tom's amazing food! The Ratana spa was a wonderful, calm oasis and the magical hands of the ladies were brilliant. The hotel runs a shuttle bus/car from the hotel to Kamala Beach which runs to the second. It is a really great concept as the hotel is on quiet, wooded hills overlooking the Andaman Sea and so avoids the noise and bustle of the beach area but is just minutes away by a luxurious (and complimentary) car that runs every two hours. Simply brilliant!

In the interests of continual improvement, I offer the following observations. Please note, these are not criticisms in any way. They are designed to help an exceptional hotel get even better. Firstly, it would be helpful to list the full ingredients on the cocktails. Some had soda water toppers that weren't listed. My wife hates fizzy drinks and got caught out twice!! Secondly, the gym had air conditioning but this was understandably switched off as gym use was not high. It would be nice to have a system that would allow guests to book a pre-cooled gym as it took a good 15 minutes to cool down once switched on. Finally, for the cooking lessons with Chef Tom, would it be possible to have ingredient and method sheets to take away? I hope these observations help!!

Très joli resort mais qui mérite un bon rafraîchissement. Le personnel était très sympathique et serviable, une navette vers Kamala est à la disposition des clients toutes les 2h. Notre chambre était très grande et spacieuse, le lit très confortable.

La climatisation fait beaucoup de bruit et m’a empêché de bien dormir. L’établissement paraît parfois un peu délabré, presque abandonné par endroits, c’est dommage. Il manque un peu de vie dans l’hôtel, par exemple le bar ferme tôt et on ne peut plus se faire servir de boissons en terrasse au bord de la piscine, alors que la vue de la terrasse est superbe pour le sunset.

Pool and views were gorgeous, inclusion of breakfast was nice. The staff were so kind and helpful. We didn't take the shuttle but it was nice that it was offered.

We had 3 people and required an extra bed, it wasn't the most comfortable. The food was okay but at least there was a restaurant on site.

Absolut begeistert! Wir reisen viel, aber eine so herzliche, angenehme und gleichzeitig unaufdringliche Atmosphäre haben wir selten erlebt. Das gesamte Team ist außergewöhnlich freundlich und aufmerksam. Unsere Poolvilla war traumhaft mit sensationellem Ausblick. Besonders hervorzuheben: Zu jeder Villa gehört ein separates Gebäude mit Wohnbereich und Küchenzeile inkl. Nespresso-Maschine – das wird in der Beschreibung (z. B. auf Booking.com) fast unterschätzt. Auch die täglich aufgefüllte Minibar (Softdrinks, Wasser, Bier, Kaffeekapseln) ist ein großes Plus. Das Frühstück (à la carte & Buffet) und das gesamte Essen waren hervorragend – und wir mussten nie lange warten. Die Happy Hour (2 Cocktails zum Preis von einem) rundet den Tag perfekt ab. Einziger kleiner Minuspunkt: kein direkter Zugang zum Meer, da die Treppe aktuell defekt ist. Mit einer Lösung hierfür wäre es absolut perfekt. Klare 5 Sterne – wir kommen wieder!

We enjoyed our stay at Ayara Kamala Resort & Spa overall. The room itself was absolutely stunning, big, and the honeymoon setup i requested was beautifully arranged. It was clear that effort had been put into making the occasion special. The breakfast was exceptional, easily a 10/10. I wouldn’t change a single thing. Having breakfast tables by the pool overlooking the sea makes the entire experience feel very special, and the coffee was surprisingly excellent, which is something many hotels don’t get right. The shuttle service to Kamala Beach was also very professional and consistently on time, which made getting around easy. The property also has a private beach, which is a nice feature. Staff was always extremely polite and accommodating.

The gym is quite small and has limited equipment, so guests expecting a full fitness facility might find it a bit underwhelming. Swimming at their private beach [small] can be a bit difficult because the shoreline has many medium-to-large rocks. You can still swim if you’re comfortable navigating them, but it may not be ideal for everyone. Access also involves quite a lot of stairs down and back up, so it may be challenging for elderly guests or anyone with mobility limitations. We had dinner once at the hotel restaurant, and unfortunately the experience was somewhat disorganized. There appeared to be only one very young staff member handling everything as taking orders, serving food, and processing payments. He had to run downstairs to collect dishes and was clearly overwhelmed, although he remained polite and did his best throughout the evening. The issue wasn’t his attitude but rather a lack of staff support. Some tables were left unattended for long periods, and the service overall felt chaotic. A couple of dishes were also extremely spicy from the start, and some of the glassware could have been better cleaned and polished. For the dinner experience i would rate it around 5/10, though i want to stress that the waiter himself was doing his best under difficult circumstances for him. Overall, we still had a pleasant stay, mainly thanks to the beautiful room, the incredible breakfast, and the views. With slightly better pricing alignment and improved restaurant service, the experience could easily become outstanding.

Das Frühstück war der Hammer mit einer sehr grossen Auswahl wie man es oft nicht in Hotels hat. Der Shuttle Service zum Strand funktionierte bestens. Der Strand hatte uns sehr gut gefallen, da er sehr sauber war und auch der Liegeservice war perfekt.

Der Abendservice war ein wenig langsam und ein wenig unerfahren beim Bedienen, dafür war das Essen erstklassig gewesen.

We had a wonderful experience at Ayara Kamala Resort and Spa! It was a beautiful location with amazing views! Our room was huge and very clean! It really did feel like a lush paradise! We did have a little bit of a hike every time we walked up to our room, but if the staff saw us they offered us a ride up. They staff! From the front desk, drivers, house keeping and SPA, were AMAZING! We would love to visit again in the future!

La vue depuis la chambre était magique avec la piscine infinie qui donne sur la mer. Le petit-déjeuner avec la possibilité de commander à la carte était un vrai plus. Le fait d'avoir des boissons dans le bar était top quand il faisait très chaud. Le personnel était très gentil et serviable.

Au petit-déjeuner les chauffe-plats étaient coupés ce qui peut causer un vrai problème au niveau des règles d'hygiène vu que les aliments sont soumis en permanence à des changements de température chaud/froid/chaud.... Il faudrait que les chauffe-plats restent allumés durant tout le petit déjeuner. Les transats ne sont pas confortables car il y a une barre métallique qui rentre dans le dos, cela pose problème et il faut ajouter une serviette pour éliminer cette barre qui est vraiment inconfortable. Les taxis en soirée ne sont pas toujours très nobreux pour rentrer à l'hôtel qui est un peu excentré

The public spaces were much too small, dinner service was woefully inadequate, all the chairs were stained and mouldy and the whole place wasn’t worthy of its high star rating, more like a three star.

- The view from the infinity pool of the sea was unbelievable - Free pickle ball session - Spoilt for choice at the breakfast buffet - Shuttle to beach every 2 hours (although why would you want to leave the hotel?) - Staff were very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble - Spa on site with fantastic massages

- We were upgraded when we arrived but then were downgraded a night later which was a bit disappointing but staff did apologise profusely! - Somewhere on site to refill water bottles would be appreciated.

Das Hotel liegt etwas abgeschieden und hat keinen direkten Strandzugang. Es gibt jedoch einen Shuttle, der tagsüber alle 2 Stunden zum Kamala Beach und wieder zurück fährt. Der Kamala Beach hat zwar schön klares Wasser, war uns persönlich aber zu voll. Dafür war unser Gemeinschaftspool mit nur 5 weiteren Parteien dann ideal, mit dem man einen unglaublich schönen Blick auf das Meer hat. Positiv hervorzuheben sind außerdem die freundlichen Mitarbeiter und allgemein der gesamte Service. Die Kommunikation war unkompliziert, sogar über WhatsApp, wodurch sich unsere Wünsche schnell organisieren ließen. Die Massagen im Hotel waren zwar etwas teurer, aber mit Abstand die besten, die wir in Thailand hatten. Und auch das Frühstück war absolut erstklassig mit einer große Auswahl aus Buffet und à la carte. Die Anlage selbst ist sehr schön und gepflegt. Es gibt einen großen Pool für alle Gäste im oberen Bereich beim Frühstücksrestaurant, den wir zwar nicht genutzt haben, der aber einen guten Eindruck gemacht hat. Zusätzlich stehen Aktivitäten wie Pickleball, Billard etc. zur Verfügung. Das Abendessen haben wir uns mehrmals aufs Zimmer liefern lassen. Die Gerichte, die wir probiert haben, waren vollkommen in Ordnung. Unser Zimmer war sehr großzügig geschnitten. Die Aussicht war traumhaft mit Blick aufs weite Meer. Die Ausstattung ließ keine Wünsche offen: hochwertige Kosmetika, eine sehr gute Minibar, die täglich aufgefüllt wurde, sowie ein sehr bequemes Bett.

Die Liegen auf der Terrasse waren sehr unbequem. Leider war es nicht möglich Auflagen o.ä. dafür zu bekommen. Eine Auswahl an weiteren Restaurants sind fußläufig nicht zu erreichen.

Private pool in suite was fantastic, views were great from pool. Cookery class with Hotel Chef was amazing. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and freshly prepared. Thai massage was heavenly

Friday evening Thai buffet limited what was available to eat. Bar was only open during day and had to go to main restaurant in evening, no biggie

Way too many day guests (18 guys) came when we were there and took over the whole pool area, they were smoking too. Made for an uncomfortable environment

מקום מדהים נוף משוגע ווילה מטורפת ספא ומסאגים נפלאים. צוות נהדר שנענה לכל בקשה מהר מאוד, אין מילים הריזורט המושלם!!! 5 דקות נסיעה לחוף ולעיר שחוץ מהשאטלים בחינם של המלון בשעות קבועות אפשר להזמין רכב של המלון בכל שעה במחיר מגוחך. אין ספק שאחזור לשם.

אכלנו פעם אחת ארוחת ערב במסעדה של המלון היה לא טוב בלשון המעטה גם ארוחת הבוקר טעונה שיפור משמעותי, מבחר דל מאוד, ואם נגמר משהו הם לא דואגים למלא כך שאם אתה מגיע לאכול ארוחת בוקר בסביבות 10 סביר להניח שלא תמצא הרבה דברים כולל כוסות לשתייה קרה פשוט אין מישהו שמסתכל על מה שקורה שם ומנהל את העסק. חבל שמלון כ"כ מדהים שהכל כמעט מושלם נופל על שטויות. מקווה שמישהו שם יקרא ויפנים פשוט חבל.

The room was clean, spacious and had a bathtub, terrace, and a nice park-like view. This was the highlight of the stay.

Before booking, I would be cautious with some of the very positive reviews, as our experience was completely different and did not match what is described. The hotel also claims to be a 5-star property, which is simply not accurate and sets expectations it does not meet. The restaurant food was poor. The beef was badly overcooked and service was extremely slow, including at breakfast. Despite having a large terrace, the restaurant only had a few outdoor tables. Water bottles cost 150 baht. Sleeping was difficult due to a very loud air conditioner that was freezing even at 26 degrees, so we had to turn it on and off throughout the night. The hotel feels old and poorly maintained overall, including the rooms, gym, and common areas. The fake grass around the pool and restaurant looks cheap and unpleasant. The pool area is small with very limited sunbeds. WiFi did not work in our room and service was average at best. The hotel advertises a private beach, but this is misleading. It cannot be classified as a beach at all. There is no sand, only rocks, no swimming possible, and the few chairs and equipment there are extremely run down. The “well equipped gym” consists of one machine and a pull-up bar with barely functioning air conditioning. The location is quite secluded. The shuttle only runs every two hours, with the last one at 7pm, which is very early. If you want to get around outside these hours, expect to spend significant time and money on taxis.

One of the best hotels, amazing location and very nice, friendly and supportive staffs, breakfast was good but not great, we were there in their new year party, The party, the party programs, and the party foods were great and we enjoyed.

Die Zimmer sind zwar sehr gepflegt und super sauber aber in die Jahre gekommen. Überall ist aucg Kunstrasen verlegt was gar nicht reinpasst. Das macht viel vom Ambiente der ansonsten liebevoll gestalteten Anlage kaputt.

Incroyable! Magnifique hôtel, c’était vraiment difficile d’en repartir. Tout est pensé pour que vous soyez bien, le personnel est aux petits soins et la chambre fantastique. Ne parlons même pas du petit dej et de la vue, tout était parfait!!

Atmosphere facilitating relaxation. They staff is flexible and accommodating. The facilities a bit worn, but fully functional.

Upon arrival, we were greeted nicely, but the main person in the reception abruptly shushed her colleague, who was on the phone, it made us feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the private beach is wonderful, but when we went there, it was full of dirty plastic cups… no one had cleaned it in a while. The one time we used a shuttle bus to the town, it was a bit delayed on our way there and back, as if they didn’t expect people to use it. The last shuttle at 19:00 is a bit early, doesn’t allow for anyone to eat out, as if they wanted the guests to only use their restaurant.

Beautiful location and property, may need a little updating though

Beautiful hotel, with a stunning panoramic position with a view on the sea. The rooms are big, modern with thai details and quality furnishing. In particular, our room also had the direct access to an amazing swimming pool, shared only with other five rooms. Very good breakfast (buffet + a la carte, but included in the rate) in terms of choice and quality of food. I would like also to highlight the kindness of the staff, that made us feel at home. Impeccable organization for the New Year’s eve party event. Everything was really perfect

The staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was great with many options. The room snacks and beverages are free and on daily basis. The shuttle service between the hotel and kamala beach. The spa experience was great and I recommend it for everyone.

Although the location of the resort is on a high hill with great sea views , but it's relatively far from the town and services. It's better to rent a car for convenient transportation.

Es war wirklich alles bestens angefangen von Jasmine von der Reseption, was für eine unglaublich liebevoller Mensch… Es wurde für alles gesorgt und die Wünsche wurden einem förmlich von den Augen abgelesen. Pool Villa sehr privat und ruhig. Frühstück von der Karte sowie Buffet grandios. Das Resort ist etwas abgelegen, bietet aber regelmässigen Shuttelservice nach Kamala an. Wir haben uns allerdings für einen Mietwagen entschieden um die Insel zu erkunden.

The staff, especially Mr. Leo were outgoing and engaged in customer care. Mr. Leo always checked in on us during breakfast and when he saw us on the property. The pool was great and the rooms were quite large.

The fitness center needs more equipment. Also the bed was a Bit hard for my liking.

Lovely staff, the spa was excellent, great views.

We had noisy people in the room next to us and the sound travelled. Luckily they checked out the following day.

Very expensive what’s offered, relatively lower quality of all amenities and interior compared to neighboring resorts.

The hotel and its area are breathtakingly amazing! It feels here like in paradise! The rooms are spacious, we had the personal infinity pool. Nature surrounds the hotel. Several bird spieces greet you from different angles. The people from hotel are really lovely and sweet. At hotel there is rough beach, that is really good for "climbing walks". The food!!! Oh my, the food is sooo delicious. We really recommend to stay here! 🫶

We truly enjoyed the spaciousness of the rooms and the resort grounds—it’s a lovely place to just walk around. The breakfast was a highlight, specifically the ability to order from a menu (a la carte), which was excellent. The organized shuttle to Kamala Beach is also a super convenient feature.

The on-site gym was fully booked by a private group. We were offered an alternative gym, but the logistics were complicated (required advance booking) and not very convenient.
