The room was just what we needed. We felt safe with the locked gates surrounding the property. The location was second to none with being able to walk right across the street to all the Santa Cruz attractions. Great staff. The free popcorn and snowcones was a huge hit for our daughter. The pool was warm and perfect for the overcast weather during our stay.

What a great location, right across from the Santa Cruz Beach, Boardwalk & Wharf. VERY clean hotel, many on-site amenities, as well as lots of places for food, drinks and summer fun!

The mattresses need updated, very springy and had indents.

The complimentary coffee, popcorn, and shaved ice were a nice touch and were always available. However, the hotel does not offer a full breakfast, so guests should be aware of that. The location is excellent. The beach, the Boardwalk, restaurants, shops, and many attractions are all within walking distance. It was extremely convenient and one of the best parts of staying here.

One suggestion for improvement would be to offer a small breakfast option. Even something simple, like pastries, croissants, or bread to go with the coffee, would make the experience even better.

Was unsure what to expect when I booked this for the family. Arrived, service was excellent, free coffee, popcorn, snow cones, etc. Room was large enough for the 4 of us, but lacked, plates, cutlery, etc, but these were available if asked for. The room looked over the bay, which was magical.

Loved close to everything including beach. Booked room with kitchen but you had to climb 2-3 flights of stairs to get to room from parking lot where car was parked. I had service dog and disabilities so hotel should make it known there are stairs and identify rooms for individuals with mobility issues with service dogs, etc.

The 20$ per night charge to park your vehicle.. only advised this 10 days before our stay . When your spending 3 nights not one night I feel it is an unreasonable amount

This was the second time I've stayed here. I stayed a couple of years ago in the ocean view units. The view was nice but the viewing area is not a private balcony and people can be walking by your sliding door at any time. Worse, however there was a drug induced person playing loud music and screaming for several hours starting at 3am one night. This is why for my second stay I chose the non ocean front view. Had I known that it was right by the gate and the pool I would not have booked this place. The management refused to change rooms and they were not helpful at all. I had three nights booked and I only stayed one as the cancellation fee would have been too expensive. Yes, the pool looked nice and the hotel is across from the main beach but being next to the pools we had the slamming of the pool gate for a couple of hours right after check in (and it's open to 10 p.m.) The pool is very close to the rooms, just a few feet away. To add to that the drain in the sink and the shower were extremely clogged. Especially the shower, We thought the shower was going to overfow in the bathroom floor. Throw in $22 cost for parking on top of this. We took a walk through the neighborhood after a heated discussion with the manager and was able to find a beautiful suite nearby with a full kitchen for less money. So glad we cancelled the rest of our stay and found a new place. I'm done with this motel.

This property is truly a gem! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The complimentary popcorn, hot chocolate, coffee, and snow cones throughout our stay were such a fun and thoughtful touch. The location was perfect, being within walking distance of everything made our trip so relaxing and peaceful. We can’t wait to come back!

There wasn’t anything I disliked about the property itself. The only issue we encountered was that after the sun went down, groups of local kids would come to the pool and take it over. We ended up leaving each evening because it no longer felt safe for our children. Aside from that, everything was wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beach Street Inn & Suites has a fantastic location and some wonderful staff, but our stay was overshadowed by repeated maintenance problems, noise issues, and most concerning of all, cleanliness concerns. We paid more than $2,600 for four nights and left feeling that the condition of the property did not match either the price point or the expectations created by the hotel's photos and reviews. While management ultimately addressed our concerns professionally, the overall guest experience was disappointing. The positives first: the location is fantastic, the room was spacious, and the complimentary snow cones and popcorn were a fun touch that our family enjoyed throughout the stay. I also want to recognize Nathan and Zazil at the front desk. Both were friendly, professional, and genuinely tried to help whenever issues arose. Nathan promptly came to our room on our first night to address several maintenance concerns and later waived our parking charges when some of the problems could not be resolved. After our stay, management also reviewed our concerns and provided additional compensation, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the property itself felt much more worn and dated than we expected based on the website, photos, reviews, and the premium price point. Upon arrival, our room had several maintenance issues, including a mini-fridge freezer so overrun with ice that the freezer door would not close, a room phone that did not work, and a bathroom exhaust fan that ran continuously and could not be turned off. Most concerning, the Murphy bed came crashing down unexpectedly when my 12-year-old daughter pulled it down. It was startling and felt like a potential safety issue. The bed was also noticeably tilted and uncomfortable to sleep on. Noise was another challenge. The walls appeared to be extremely thin. On our first night, motorcycles sounded as though they were passing directly through our room. My daughter actually asked whether the door was open because the noise was so loud. We were also awakened by large dumpster bins being moved late at night and more motorcycle noise early in the morning. The television screen-casting feature worked only intermittently, which was disappointing when we attempted to relax and watch movies in the evenings. The biggest concern, however, was cleanliness. During our stay, we discovered a blood-stained pillow. After reporting it and requesting fresh linens, housekeeping replaced them, but some of the replacement sheets also contained stains. As our stay continued, we found additional stains on other bedding as well, along with holes in some of the linens. At that point, it became difficult to feel confident in the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the room. Any one of these issues by itself would have been a minor inconvenience. Taken together, however, the repeated maintenance problems, noise issues, and cleanliness concerns significantly impacted our stay. For a stay costing more than $2,600 for four nights, we expected a much higher standard of quality, maintenance, and cleanliness. While we appreciate the efforts made by the front desk staff and management to address our concerns, the overall condition of the property did not match our expectations or the price we paid.

Wasn’t allowed a late checkout even off season.

Had a large 2xdouble bed room overlooking the beach with the biggest double shower I've ever seen! Great communication beforehand from the staff arranging access to the pool in the event the room wasn't ready for us. Pop corn and snow cones available, plus coffee in the morning. Wish I could have stayed longer. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves and the sealions, bliss.

Fantastic stay! The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just steps from the Santa Cruz Boardwalk with stunning beach views. The staff is always incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. I stay here every time I visit Santa Cruz because the combination of oceanfront scenery, convenience, and exceptional service never disappoints. Highly recommend!

I was greeted by a very friendly lady during the check-in which is always a first good sign. The room was very pretty and clean. It smelled so fresh and clean - I can appreciate that. The location is awesome: so close to the beach! The cute coffee bar/ice cream shop (included in your stay) was an absolute bonus. The parking spots are limited but I did not have any issues to find a spot.

Loved that the pool was heated, that there was a hot tub, and fire pit. The staff was very nice. The kids loved the complimentary snow cones hot chocolate and popcorn. My husband and I loved the complimentary coffee bar. All included with your stay. Location was perfect for us as well.

Stairs, parking is tight

In my book, a very clean room, very comfortable bed and convenient location are what it takes to earn a “4.” What elevates our rating to a “5” is the exceptional beachfront view and unusually large room that opens the possibility to an extended stay. Although the inn has no restaurant, it does offer coffee, popcorn and snow cones and there are restaurants just steps away. We also liked the fact that it wasn’t a “brand” hotel and seems to bridge today with an earlier era. Our two days here were delightful and we would hasten to return given the opportunity.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Had everything I needed or expected. The location was outstanding! The beach was right across a one way street that wasn't busy at all. The Boardwalk was withing walking distance and so was the pier. Plenty of restaurants to walk to. Can't wait to come back!

I have bad knees and there were a lot of stairs. I just took my time and it was fine.

Great location right across from the street from the beach and wharf! Workers really nice and housekeeping great, even my dirty dishes in the sink were cleaned! Having laundry on site is awesome. Free popcorn and snow cones are icing on the cake! Great people watching from the balcony! Great places to eat in walking distance too! The Boardwalk rides and arcade are a short walk too!

Location was ok.

The quality of the rooms was inconsistent with how they were advertised. It was disappointing at the price point. Instead of a decent size room with a view of water, we had a small, shitty room with low quality matresses, a view of a parking lot and placed right outside the hot tub area which was very noisy while we tried to sleep.

This hotel is so wonderful & enjoyable! It is a huge part of enjoying our Santa Cruz trips. The room is clean & comfortable, the location and view is outstanding, the pool is very relaxing and everyone is so kind!

Parking bien pratique mais un peu cher (22$) mais on a pu y laisser la voiture le lendemain en attendant de repartir dans l après midi.
