Casablanca Inn on The Beach

Tolle Lage am Strand, nettes Personal. Wir hatten das Apartment mit zwei Schlafzimmern und einer Küche. Leider war die Küche sehr schlecht ausgestattet vorallem mit Besteck, das war schade.

I came back from dinner the first night and bathroom sink was clogged with standing water. Over the next 12 hours after I reported it to mgmnt- the sink drained and then filled up again and then was rising higher and higher. I could not use the sink or the counter due to fear of overflowing. Maintenance did come the next day mid day, after I spent the morning away from my room waiting for them. I reported all this in an email and asked that I receive some sort of compensation for the huge inconvenience for Half of my stay and have not heard anything from them to this day.

Before switching over management , we really enjoyed staying at casablanca inn. Me and my family travel with a special needs.And with a service dog. Before switching over to management , they were always accommodating to our needs , and making sure that we were able to check in as soon as we get there due to the fact that my special needs , sister cannot be in her wheelchair very long. During this visit , we were not able to check in until four p m and our housekeeper took over an hour to get our room ready. We do enjoy the location and we do like the room with the sunroom in it.

The front door staff were very nice. The housekeeping was very slow. The maintenance workers were also very nice. We booked the sunroom and instead of staying in the sunroom that does have a full view we were put into the ada room which we did not request an ad a room. From that room , all the guests have a clear view into our out on the sun deck and the views obstructed by all of the Sun deck, furniture and the Sun deck itself.So it's not really a fool ocean view , it is more of a partial view. We have stayed at the Casablanca and Uber 15 times within the last few years.And upon our last visit , we have decided to look elsewhere.

Lobby didn’t open until 8am, forcing me to haul my bags up the narrow walkway to the parking lot.

It was right across the street from the beach and close to everything.

The rooms were cozy but not as clean. There wad mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. We had to wait for towels. Hair on the sheets there were on the bed.

The king size bed was very hard. Our ceiling fan wasn't working and was filthy. Other than that the stay was fine.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. They were so nice to our family. Parking was great and we were right on the beach.

Location by the water was excellent. The hotel had an old world charm. Parking on site was very convenient. The water front and walks along the water were accessible by foot.

The room was a bit "tired" and hadn't been updated in awhile with very basic but functional bathroom facilities.

Location. Rooms were as expected.

TV had annoying quirks that required the original remote to deal with, which they don’t have. No breakfast offered. Room wasn’t ready until 4pm.

There was no breakfast offered. The view was amazining, however the room itself was very disappointing. It was not what you saw from the photos in the booking app. It was old and smelled very bad and musty. In addition, the room was upstairs ( not mentioned) and very hard on my husband who is 83 years old. Overall I was very disappointed and would not recommend this hotel.

The room we booked was fantastic. It overlooked the sea front. We were in the first floor up from promenade and spent all evening on the balcony. Unfortunately the hotel is not secure and we had a random man knock on our door at 3.30am.

Not safe or secure. Anyone can walk into the hotel at night and no security around to monitor. A strange man knocking on our bedroom door at 3.30am is not acceptable, especially when you have children who were too scared to go back to sleep. Unfortunately talking to staff in the morning - they just seemed to dismiss it (like it has happened before). It spoiled our stay I have to be honest and we would not recommend any of our friends to stay at this hotel.

Rather than 3 stars it deserves 2.5. Certainly paying for the location more than the facility. If it was anywhere else it would be half the cost. Felt like a Motel 6 rather than a beachside 3 star hotel. A holiday inn express would have been a better deal up the street.

This property is an amazing property right on the ocean across the street from Santa Cruz pier. Staff is unbelievably welcoming and friendly. Cleanliness is fantastic. Comfort was very good. They have a nice deck that is for everyone to use and it looked overlooks the ocean, which is really a beautiful view.

I felt it was a pricey, but I’m not used to the California price tag. I think that’s why.

We liked the room 208 as it accomodated our needs, we travel with two cats. We are partially handicapped, the view was super, everything was great.We were close, within walking distance to dinner spots, Indian food delicious. We could drive on boardwalk to knack. We enjoyed that very much and we drove to aquarium in Monterey one day only an hour away...

The floors being wooden and older, no air conditioner and it got a bit warm with gas fireplace being on.

The location is wonderful! Very friendly and responsive staff. The bed was very comfortable. The fire pit was a lovely area to enjoy the evening.

Barn-style door for the bathroom is a poor choice. The rain shower style shower head has zero water pressure. I felt like I was literally trying to wash my hair in a light rain! Thankfully there was also a handheld shower head that was adjustable and worked well enough to get a good shower. The most inconvenient thing is having the bathroom lights on some kind of timer. The lights turned off on us while in the shower every time. Considering the bathroom had no windows, it made for a quite startling situation!

I asked for room service to come in while I was gone to replenish the toilet paper and towels and remove trash, Never received room service. So I told the front desk when I came in and let them know that I mainly just want to replenish toilet paper and new towels. Later found out they came in and replenished towels but no toilet paper , and no trash taking out of trash bins

Sehr schönes gemütliches kleines Hotel. Echt sehr sauber in top Lage und das Personal war super freundlich und verständnisvoll. Sonnenschirme,Stühle und Handtücher wurden kostenlos vom Hotel für den Strand vor der Tür bereit gestellt echt super Zeit würden immer wieder kommen echt alles Top gewesen weiter so

Wenn man sich über etwas beschweren will sind die wenigen Parkplätze. Hat aber alles super geklappt haben immer einen Platz bekommen.

The location was great. That’s all.

The room was very dirty which made the stay very uncomfortable. We could never reach the front desk to let them know. I won’t even post pictures at this time because I will give the hotel a chance to explain to me why my family and I experienced this. The shower wouldn’t drain the sheets and mattresses were dirty. It was just not a good situation to be in.

I liked that it was close to the boardwalk and where we normally visit when in Santa cruz

The room wasn’t very clean. The coffee machine water container was filthy. We arrived and ask for an early check in saw that the room was done but never got a call to check in early. I was informed that there was a charge per car. I asked for the charge to be waived as we brought 1 car for each room we reserved and that request was declined because we went through a booking site. I have had many hotels waive this charge but not this one. The bedding was damp so all night it felt like we were laying on a wet towel. The facility had zero amenities.

I was traveling with another adult and 4 grandchildren. Room #403 was spacious and comfy. The smaller kids LOVED the window seat pullout beds. The kitchen and table were handy and the ice and vending machines were right downstairs. There is also a patio to enjoy. And SO CLOSE to the beach/boardwalk!

It is just a tad rustic, not a fancy 5-star, but great for our purposes.

Our room was way too small #203 Wanted an ocean view and upon arriving realized there were view rooms much larger. The king bed in the room was way too big for that size room

The value is in the location. The rooms appear clean, the outside property less. The staff however were very friendly and helpful. We have stayed several times due to the convenient location.

The trash can outside our door was i overflowing when we arrived friday and was not emptied until Sunday. There was a liquid trail from the can up several stairs and walkways out to the parking lot to the trash area which was gross

The distance to the boardwalk was perfect.

The WiFi didn’t work, tv service was horrible, and the room wasn’t as advertised. I pictured something completely different.

The location of this hotel was directly across from the beach which was absolutely amazing. The balcony view was outstanding. The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. Free ice and filtered water in the lobby.

The grounds were subpar for the price of the stay, although the beach was across the street, the actual hotel was lacking activities. The bathroom in our unit had mildew and mold growing in the bathroom, which was a huge disappointment, again for the price point of the hotel I would expect the room to be above standards. You had to pay $35 for early check in AND $35 for parking.

Very clean and cozy. We felt super relaxed.

I was unable to talk to anyone at checkout. I had a question about billing. I called the number and left a message for a return call. No answer for 3 days. Once staff responded to an email I sent, they resolved my issue promptly. We all get short staffed once and awhile. I can’t fault them for that.

We stayed in the 300 building in our previous stay and it was clean and newer. This stay was in the 400 building and it was not as clean. Shower pressure was very low.

Later check in (4pm) and charging anyone for earlier check in (even if the room may be ready.) 5 star never makes a guest feel unwelcome ( early arrivals with charges create that environment) I understand if a room is not ready but to up charge for a room that’s ready? That’s not welcoming.

The property was in the ideal location, right by the beach and the pier.

With that ideal location came the loud train and traffic from guys cruising the beach with very loud music playing. The internet was spotty and kept dropping. If you need to work don’t stay here. The hair dryer didn’t work. The front desk never seamed to have anyone there. If you mobility issues the beach view rooms with a shared balcony are not doable.

We needed two rooms for the amount of people we had coming for our family and friend's weekend getaway. I loved that they were able to put our rooms close in proximity. Our room was above our relatives room, so we could see them from our balcony. I also loved that both rooms we were put in were on the street side, so we could see the ocean—it was somewhat an ocean view rooms. I loved how cozy the Inn felt. It almost felt like we were in an apartment complex and hanging out with our neighbors. The other guests that we came in contact with during our stay were awesome and fun to converse with. Everything was in walking distance—the wharf, the Boardwalk, shops, restaurants—we walked the entire trip and didn't need to use our vehicle for any transportation to and from our activities. It was great and convenient! Our last night there our entire group was able to convene on the ocean view deck (off the lobby) to have dinner (pizza), watch the sunset off the ocean, all the happenings going on at the wharf and the volleyball players playing on the beach. There is a fire pit and a generous amount of space to have a comfortable hangout with family and friends, plus it's an excellent view of Santa Cruz.

The WiFi is horrible!!! That was the only thing that really bothered me. The parking wasn't ideal, but it worked out. I didn't have many complaints. The only thing that sucked about the entire stay was the WiFi connection or lack there of.

- our room had an ocean-view balcony. we slept with the sliding door cracked to hear the white noise of the ocean and smell the sea breeze.. - walking distance to the boardwalk, beach, and pier - pleasant and quiet - pet friendly, our dogs loved it - my 6 year old loved sitting on the balcony

This is the perfect location for a beachfront hotel in Santa Cruz - across the street from the beach and walkway, but away from the hubbub of the amusement park. It was quiet and has terrific oceanview communal spaces (upstairs deck and street-level patio).

It is odd that there is no one at the front desk at check out time. Also, I was not expecting to have to pay for parking. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there are great options very close by. Room lighting was not great (too dark), but a minor issue. Overall, a very good hotel in an outstanding location.

The location was absolutely perfect for my husband & our 9 & 13 year old! It was a short walk to both the pier & the boardwalk. Shops, bars & restaurants were all steps away! The beach was right across the street which was great, especially since we happened to be right where the beach volleyball nets are!

My only complaints are that all of our windows opened up to the parking lot, except the one that faced the ocean. Also, there was quite a bit of light that shines in at night due to gaps in the curtains. Other than that, we absolutely loved this inn! Great price, especially for the location!

Cockroaches and spiders in the room. Dead roach near the rim of the clean glass supplied. The room needs to be aired out. The room smelled grungy. The floor need to be stripped, they felt as though they had a film on them.
