A key box provided for my very late arrival.
I went down on time for breakfast but the places was in the dark and there was no sign of anyone. (I had not pre-paid for breakfast).
Perfect for a comfy night's stay in Woburn, friendly staff
Exactly where we wanted to be and we had private entrance aswell
It was a little run down tiles coming off the wall and towel rail hanging off
Convenient location, staff incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after

There is no food on site but there's a number of lovely eateries within walking distance. Rooms were clean and comfortable, I had the larger room next to the emergency exit. Beds were soft, clean and comfortable and it was very quiet. The rooms were in an old inn so floors were wonky and beams were low (I was at the top of the Inn) but I loved this about the place, made it charming.
I didn't not like anything!
Location I needed was good
No staff around to drop bags can only get keys after 3pm Bed very firm not comfortable for me
I messaged in advance requesting a room away from traffic noise. However: - no reply was received - I'm not sure they read the message - I was sadly allocated a room with window onto the High street
The location was lovely very peaceful
The property was very dirty, cobwebs every where , a build up of grime and dust on surfaces and appliances especially kettle tv mirrors light switches and skirting boards . The bathroom was very mouldy and smelt damp and the towel rail was hanging off the wall by the screw. The bed was very uncomfortable and hadn’t been washed or changed as had hairs and stains on bedding . Really didn’t feel comfortable staying here and definitely would not recommend . Not worth the money felt and looked more like a hostel rather than a hotel . It’s a shame as the building itself had character being old . Owners need to close for a week or two and give the place a REAL DEEP CLEAN
Lovely old building and in the middle of Woburn. Great value.
Steps to room are quite steap for for someone who is less able.
The location was perfect for my needs.
The reception was rambling and confused. It wasn’t very welcoming at all. I had a single room, but this one was so small and pokey it wasn’t comfortable and it was poorly decorated. The whole place could do with a revamp.
Sorry to report that this pub is not what it may have been previously. Photos on Booking.com show quite a nice bar area…. I have no idea where that is because it does not exist now. Just a small, very dark grim looking bar. Our room was room 9. Right up the top of two flights of stairs. Which is fine except it’s very hot up there. There were four windows. Three of them are painted shut . The one that opened wasn’t enough for +20c heat. The outdoor garden area… isn’t terribly inviting. Sorry, not a good experience for us. No food available.
It was close to the restaurants and other pubs and the golf course
It doesn’t resemble the photos. The room had four windows but three were painted shut. One window that opened in 31c heat. One small fan… doesn’t help. The bar was a small, dark room with no lights. Grim. The linen was clean. The beds are pretty basic. It’s cheap.
Location
Owner bar main Rude Hotel needs investment and new manager
brilliant clean large room
i only don't like parking or driving out however the owner can do nothing to change that
Very convenient location . Reasonably priced.
I think this hotel needs to up its game as its location is in a prime spot in a desirable area amongst much better quality establishments. Everything is tired and a bit dingy, the bar was closed early on our return, this on a Saturday night and not open on Sunday night either , it was the World Cup final too! . Also the landlord could be a bit more welcoming.
Quirky traditional and unique friendly and quiet
Not he hotels fault we were going through a heatwave but keeping the rooms cool was impossible
The area was ok
Mould in bathroom, smelt reall6 bad. Bed was uncomfortable. Room was too hot window opened a small amout Restaurant was not open at all, even though is said it should be. No staff on site during the day Was booked for 2 nights only stayed for one
Location
Dingy rooms; no a/c, no fan available to help..really not impressed
Friendly staff, clean room
Bed wasn't that comfortable
Home from home feel
Beautiful village location. Friendly and helpful owner. The pub itself was closed and therefore no breakfast was available but was directed a few doors away to a local cafe which did an excellent breakfast. Woburn is a really beautiful place.
Woburn abbey closed and therefore the village itself was suffering a lack of visitors.such a shame as a really lovely place.
Not much
Most of it
We were refused service at check-in simply because we travelled with our dogs. I called 4 days in advance three times, twice to explicitly confirm their pet policy and the third time to advise I had made the booking so we would be allocated one of the dog friendly rooms . Staff assured us over the phone that bringing our dogs was absolutely fine and we had been allocated a courtyard room which was dog friendly. Upon arrival the man on duty who advised he was the owner! showed zero empathy or flexibility, he advised he was not aware we had dogs and had no dog friendly rooms left and refused to let us stay as the other rooms had carpets. When I advised him I had called and showed him my call log, he stated as I didn't have the name of the people I spoke to then I had no proof what I had talked about. He also advised he had no idea who was working that day as they don't have a staff rota so would have no way of finding out who I spoke to!!! Even if he did find out who I spoke to they could lie and deny the conversation took place. As it was a bank holiday weekend they left us stranded without accommodation with absolutely no notice. We had no option but to turn around and drive 3.5 hours home. The customer service was cold, rigid, and completely unhelpful. A modern establishment should be more clear about its policies or accommodate paying guests. Avoid this place if you view your pets as family. To make matters worse, they resorted to blackmail. They threatened to withhold our refund if we posted a negative review. This is an unethical, deceitful way to run a business. They try to trap your money to hide their own mistakes. Avoid this place at all costs. They clearly do not care about their customers.
It was quiet in a lovely little village
Nothing
Very friendly staff, brilliant location, lovely old historic inn.
It's a shame they can't offer breakfast at the moment.
comfy bed
small bathroom
Very easy from London , lots of charm and great value
Parking entrance
Comfort bed
My room was noisey as at the front near the main road
Location good.
Shabby. Everything needs updating. No breakfast available.
Extremely fast wifi, great location & friendly staff. They upgraded me for free which was nice.
Window didn’t stay open so I had to prop it up with the bin, very tired room. A bit dusty. The shower was atrocious and stone cold for literally 5 min then all of a sudden so hot it scalded me and I had to jump out, then stone cold again. Took me about 10 min to figure out the temperature. FIX YOUR PLUMBING! Weirdly nowhere to hang a towel. Doesn’t need loads spending on it just a bit of minor maintenance really
Everything. Made to feel welcome. Quality hosts
Very comfortable beds
Can be noisy
Smelly,dirty,old bed,cheap bedding,noisy road,shower door wouldn’t shut properly.
Very comfortable room, pleasantly decorated, clean and good facilities in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful when we saw them. Nice bathroom.
No breakfast available, we weren't told this until we checked in. Food available at dinner was bland but ok. Although Hubby enjoyed his burger. I think we were the only customers in the hotel. A few regulars popped into the pub in the evening but it was shut by 9:30/10pm even on friday and sat night. Although this wasn't too much of an issue for us it seemed almost abandoned when we did venture downstairs.
comfortable bed
Convenient, warm and friendly.
Near to where I needed to be.
Everything closed down at 9pm, window was old & rotting, thin curtains with security light shining through all night, old uncomfortable mattress and pillows, too hot & entrance to car park very narrow.
Чисто было и персонал
Соотношение цены и качества
Lovely building
Owner or whoever we were greeted by was rude and couldn’t be bothered, just as if he didn’t want to be there Very standoffish even though I called the day before Wasn’t even offered to book breakfast and facilities were dirty
There was no breakfast, restaurant was not operating. So no meals at the location
I’d hoped to eat there.
Friendly welcome and easy check in. Comfortable bed with nice clean bedding.
Bathroom a little tired and scruffy!
Filthy place. Floor not been vacuumed for some time. Dust mites on bed linen. Paint on curtains. Cracked windows. Springs sticking out of the bed. Misreable landlord only interested in telling you to close the bathroom (hardly a bathroom more an old telephone box) door in case the fire alarm is activated - no formal hello greeting - just get given a key and told about the alarm. For the area this place is horrendous.
It’s a lovely old pub & hotel
The toilet brush was filthy
Real friendly staff and beautiful place!
Nothing
No breakfast No chef
Wo ld have been nice to have had a breakfast 😋
Very welcoming and comfortable. Friendly and polite and food was good. Just what I needed.
NA
Simple single room with on suit, tea/coffee kettle etc. All good. Convenient location, nice place to stay in a pleasant town. They were happy to find a safe place inside to store my touring bicycle
Location was great, easy access and departure. Love little room, nice cosy bed.
Such a shame the inn was so empty 😢
Nothing
Awful experience. Fire escape route was through my bedroom! Had to pull a desk in front of my door to ensure no one came through. Just awful. Felt completely unsafe. Bathroom tired and rusty. No chef. No one to complain to, not sure barmaid could do anything. I was in and out within 12 hours. Would not recommend.
Shame there was no food available at the pub. The kitchen was closed. Friendly landlord who pointed us to some food eateries in the area. Rooms were basic, but clean.
The location and the room were fine and reflected the price paid well.
There was no chef so no breakfast was available.
Lovely village location. Lots of hot water. Comfy bed.
No hairdryer! Curtains hanging off rail.
Book last minute room and arrive late with the key pick up. Everything was perfect as it should be. Room is super clean, great value for money thanks everyone.
Lovely room..single bed very comfortable but Double not so much.. Annoyed that we were not advised until we arrived that no breakfast would be available for to not having a chef.
efficient & responsive staff team and nice accommodations
No chef
Not great, but all I needed was a bed for the night. Staff seemed to come and go as they pleased. Don't think there was anyone there overnight, so the guests (?) were left to their own. No chef either so had to eat elsewhere. Very dark interior and metal cages up at the bar most of the night. Remote didn't work on the TV. Had to keep the bathroom door shut when showering to stop the steam setting off the smoke alarms. Right in the centre of Woburn, with a very tight entrance to the car park, through an archway. Managed to get through it with my Transit Connect - anything bigger wouldn't.
We went to a wedding so didn't really see anything just slept in room
Wasn't anything I didn't like
It was lovely, pleasant room and clean, but there was a dirty cleaning sponge left on the flour in the room.
We stayed in the 3 bed apartment, sleeps 5. Lovely and spacious. Clean and modern. Beautiful area, we will be happy to go back for a weekend break.
Was disappointing there was no chef for breakfast or dinner.
Handy for my family visit. No tea bags, dirty mug and glass. Bits on carpet but bathroom clean
No complaints. The management were professional and friendly.
Very expensive for a single room for one night no service for food
Staff did not let me in to the room till late I was at a funeral that had the reception at this place had to get changed in toilet
Nice location. Nice old building. No chef!
The room was nice and clean. Unfortunately the bed frame stuck out a bit between the bathroom and where the window was and tea and coffee making facilities were. I did manage to hit myself, off the end bed on a few occasions. Maybe a divan bed, might be better!!!!There was only one tea bag provided.
Location of Woburn is excellent.
The room wasn't clean. Mould on ceiling and in bathroom, shower screen wouldn't shut properly, towel rail hanging off the wall. Really needs a refurbishment. Wasn't value for money I'm afraid.
Good location
Hotel a little tired in places
Didn’t have breakfast.
I booked a Twin room but the bed was made up as a large King Bed.
Reading the reviews, I think we must have stayed somewhere else 🥴 Clean bed and bathroom, ( dirty floor and bins not emptied ) We were the only ‘ guests’..place was deserted when we arrived , returned at 9pm, and left !!! Fire exit light was on all night. No ventilation in either bedroom or bathroom..told to close bathroom after shower, ‘ or it’ll set off all the alarms !’ Nobody about in the morning, so no chance of breakfast, if we’d wanted it .. Asked for 2 extra pillows, told none could be found..even though there were no other guests. Safety label stated clearly that the electrics had been tested in 2022 due again in 2023. It was a cheaper option for us to stay but we were thoroughly disappointed.
Location
Room was not very clean. Strange host at the front desk with long straggly greasy hair.
Poor for the Long Inns, staff did not know about the area, advert said breakfast and dinner available but pay for but no chef or kitchen staff, so had to find other eating places. The bar was only open one day out of two evenings when I stayed. When I lefted in the morning not one person was around the building, just lefted keys in a box. I was disgusted.
Very quiet when we stayed.
Very clean and fairly well appointed. Sadly- very over priced. - £274 for 1 night. Expected perfection for that price.
Double bed requested. Two single beds pushed together- very uncomfortable. Shower over bath normally ok, but no 'hand grab' on the wall. Essential in case you slip.
Room was clean.
Quite a lot of noise from traffic outside. No food available despite listing stating there was a restaurant. Apparently they stopped serving food a week ago. No lock on door.
Location was where we needed
Old worn place windows painted shut was all very dated and old
Really friendly and helpful staff
Supper was very good. Service very good.
In bedroom, only one window could be opened and that opened onto the main road below.. Very hot night so needed air flow without noise.
Nice
This is an old hotel so it was as expected . We were at a wedding in Woburn and this was really convenient for the venue. the rooms and bathroom look as if they have had a recent refurb.
there was no cold water in the sink in the bathroom only hot, luckily we had some bottled water in the car as it was a really hot night. We reported this as we left . The bathroom needs a really good clean.
Friendly lady,and breakfast was good
Climbing the stairs with no warning during the booking, not very up-to-date bedroom, needs a makeover now should not be charging that much for old place with old furniture and fittings.and double booked my brothers room and asking him to vacate when second couple arrives so not happy.
If it’s just for getting your head down one night, perfect. It’s a 17th century building, pub with bedrooms. Just don’t expect too much and you’ll be fine.
Location
Driving out of the car park.
Good
Character property, well maintained, spotlessly clean and awesome staff. Highly recommend! Will definitely go there again.
Nothing! Absolutely loved it. How often do you get to stay in a place that dates back to 1658 🤔
