Close proximity and staff were amazing
No water on the rooms
Everything was perfect and Catherine on reception was super-helpful and friendly. We will hopefully be back next year
The fantastic welcome we got from Catherine. She explained everything in great detail. The restaurant directly across the road was excellent. We had a nice evening meal. Would liked to have seen more hand pulled ales Good choice for breakfast.
Although the room was adequate the floors were very uneven and squeaky. The shower was actually too powerful to the point of being uncomfortable
The staff were friendly, and there was free parking at the back of the hotel. The room was clean and a good size. We didn't use the communal areas in the hotel, but they looked nice. We appreciated that an early check-in was made possible for us as we needed to change for a wedding after a long drive.
Our room was at the front of the hotel on the ground floor and the road through the town is very busy. I wouldn't have been able to seep without ear plugs. Nothing you can really do about this I expect as the road was initially made for a few horses and carriages, not the volume of traffic that now passes through.
Location and value for money
Had the twin which was fine. Couldn’t understand why there was a bedside lamp between the two beds when there was no electrical socket anywhere along the wall so it might as well have been a candle and a box of matches.
Staff friendly very accommodating location good breakfast exceptional value for money
Shower a bit slippy but safety signs present
Average accommodation. Basic room.
It’s a very quaint hotel in a very quaint village, the staff were friendly.
I arrived at 23:10 (flight delay) with my 86 yr old mother. The hotel is unmanned after 11, but have an out of hours mobile number. However, Woburn village is a signal black spot so I couldn’t contact the number. My daughter (in Ireland) managed to contact them 30mins later so we eventually gained access at 23:45. Maybe have a more accessible way to contact out of hours? We were greeted by Richard friendly and helpful, and explained all the necessaries to us. We were told to help ourselves to additional tea/coffee making held t the front desk, however when I went to get some more tea/milk that night there was no ‘normal’ tea and only a few milk sachets. Our bathroom was rather dated and the plug hole was very corroded making it very shabby looking and the plug lets the water seep out. The shower was not adjustable this wouldn’t necessarily be a problem but for my 4’6” mum it was an issue as the shower head was too high. Finally, my mum is hearing impaired and the tv in the room did not have accessible subtitles I checked all settings and also asked reception but unfortunately we could not resolve this.
Excellent stay as always
Nothing to dislike
Hotel part of the property is separate from the pub, and the rooms in the hotel were lovely. Breakfast in the pub area was good and easy parking on site.
Some rooms are in the pub part of the property. We were originally given a room above the pub that was dated and not up to expectations. Spoke to the really helpful lady on reception and she changed rooms for us to the main hotel building.
The Bell Hotel has been a pleasure to stay at. Staff is so friendly and helpful all the time. Food was absolutely delicious and especially the rooms towards the back of the building were super quiet.
My mum and me lived on the upper floor during some quite warm days and it was impossible to get the heat out of the rooms. There is a little ventilator in the room but honestly does not much. For safety reasons you can’t open the windows properly which means you’re gonna have to sit through the heat up there.
Staff were friendly room was very small bed was small and uncomfortable and bathroom was small to
Excellent accommodation and professional and efficient team!
Nothing to dislike
Staff were both welcoming and helpful.
Nice spacious well equipped room. Parking to the rear.
Woburn is a beautiful place and the Bell is on a great location and has off road parking
Staff were friendly and the location was great. Room was clean.
The windows opened 2 inches and the room was 37 degrees. Im sure outside of summer months the rooms are pleasant but it was torture for us. Flood lights pointed directly in our window from our building and the one across the road , we couldn't close the blinds as it was our only source of oxygen.
Perfect location for us and the staff were friendly and helpful
Tiny room with a bathroom so small you could barely turn around in it. Liquid soap fastened to the wall and the one in the shower was even in a bag... Very limited tea/drinks options ie no hot chocolate or decaf tea (although there was some decaf tea at the desk) It all felt very basic
Very friendly staff, lovely room great breakfast. They made our first wedding anniversary very special. Decorated the room and we would love to stay again
Nothing, it was all brilliant
Quaint and nice bar and dining set up
No air conditioning. Some room areas a little claustrophobic
We loved our stay and are considering returning same time next year

The receptionist (i think Catherine) as well as the cleaner went out of there way to help me as we had booked the room as we was attending a wedding. The previous customers left their room at dead on 11 and between catherine & the cleaner we was able to put our things into the room before we went to the wedding which was highly appreciated
Everything was to our expectations
Clean and comfortable and quiet ( at the back of the building) but you couldn’t spend much time in there. A beautiful location.
The room was smaller than expected and the decor was a little tired.
It’s very convenient
The staff were great - we arrived later than expected and they were very accommodating. The bed was clean and comfortable. Free WiFi and a smart TV is a plus. First impressions are good as the reception area is lovely.
Very tired, tiny bathroom where repairs and replacements have been poorly done over the years. While nicely decorated the furniture is past its best. Overall the room felt a bit gloomy. It's on a busy road. Our room was on the top floor on the road side and also above the front door. This slams noisily every time someone leaves. With the traffic noise, the heat of being on the second floor in a room where the window only opens a few inches and the banging door you can forget about a lie in or a leisurely morning. It's fine if you just need a bed for the night as it offers little reason to linger. But with that in mind, it's an expensive option. Overall I wouldn't stay again and feel it's an overpriced.
Katherine and Richard and most of the staff were very accommodating and welcoming.
I wasn’t very happy with Mel who worked in the restaurant she was very abrasive, condescending and rude which put alittle bit of a damper on the stay at the hotel.
Location, the design of the hotel and the continental breakfast was good value for money.
Mattress could have been firmer
The rooms were comfortable with everything you could need in there, decent irons and hairdryers lots of tea coffee etc , smart tv , fan, WiFi, such a comfortable bed and lots of pillows . The hotel itself was so cute and had such a lovely feel , the staff were all so friendly especially the lady who welcomed us in , Catherine I think her name was , she was such a lovely, friendly soul and made us feel very welcome , the village was so nice, felt like we were on holiday and all the locals were so friendly, food and drink in the pub was great quality and reasonably priced and in a good area for access to where we needed to go.
Breakfast was nice, staff were all very welcoming and made you feel at home.
Reception was excellent extremely knowledgeable & helpful
Clean. Comfortable. Helpful staff. A fan put in the room without asking to help in the extreme heat and given a room with best chance of escaping the sun. Very considerate. Very good value for money.
Bathroom clean but a bit dated as is the room.
Location great, car park good, restaurant great. Bathroom good separate bath and shower, windows in bathroom. Lovely meals, dinner and breakfast. Manager and staff welcoming
Bed low, uncomfortable and creaky. Very hot weather, small fan in the room , the building is very old so no air conditioning, window in bedroom didn't open.
Excellent location. Fabulous staff. Rooms great with nice comfy beds. Good sized car park
Nothing
Your restaurant Manager MEL is an absolute treasure. She was running around doing everything at a very busy time. There were quite a few of us for a wedding from Friday evening until Sunday morning, but she did so much to make sure everything was perfect for the guests. The chef on Saturday breakfast could do with a bit more training!! The room (no.5) was really comfortable for a short stay, but would need a larger room for a longer holiday. I do not think I have a single negative comment, fabulous stay in an amazing building. Thank you Jacqui Dixon
Unfortunately the chef on Friday evening was very slow and some meals were wrong. Very slow on Saturday morning and poor MEL was rushed off her feet. Sunday breakfast was much different and much quicker. But despite this the food was delicious.
Breakfast was brilliant value for money and very nice
Beds are a little hard
lovely clean accommodation with excellent location and great staff!
Very convenient for local attractions. Parking good.
Unfortunately situated on a noisy road.
Breakfast was very good. Room was a decent size.
Stairs up to first floor were a little steep with narrow steps, ,not really suitable for older people carrying bags. The heat ( which the hotel can do nothing about ) meant we needed to leave the windows open at night, and the main road right outside our window meant we had a noisy slightly disturbed night.
Great breakfast. Centre of town.
Shame the restaurant is across the road! And really great shame Woburn Abbey is still closed.
At least there was a cereal option.
Lack of fresh fruit, limited juice and milk options. Personally prefer cranberry or pomegranate juice and soya milk for breakfast.
In a beautiful village nice and clean good value
There were some golfers staying ( they stay every year they came in drunk shouting and throwing Mac Donald’s fry’s about reception Also the road is unavoidably loud
Loved the feel, it was cute, good location as we’d come from the spa at CP.
Room was a bit dark, could have done with a lamp in the corner. I would have liked some toiletries and honestly the bathroom was a bit dated, a walk in shower probably better.
I enjoyed my stay thoroughly, nice staff, very clean, nice breakfast and good value for money. It was excellent.
Nothing
Room was clean and had everything I needed. Staff were very helpful and made sure the windows in my room were open and there was a fan turned on for me as we were in the middle of a heatwave. Food was good value and very tasty
As bedroom was very hot, we appreciated the residents lounge one evening. Good to have restaurant for evening meal. Friendly and helpful staff.
Staircase was very steep especially when carrying suitcases. Bedroom was very hot but appreciated fan which ran all day.
Room was nice and breakfast good
Stopped serving food at 6PM
Very strategic location
None
Nothing. Couldn’t stay due to the unbearable heat in the room. Hotter than outside🥵♨️🥵♨️
No air was coming into the room
Staff were excellent, especially at reception. Room was big, clean and well decorated with a comfy bed
Only issues were as it was a very hot day the one fan provided wasn't enough to keep us cool on the top floror, but that is just the weather not really their fault. Although, with the weather as it is maybe some portable aircon units for the top floors would help. Only other small issue was that not all the great sounding breakfasts were available when we stayed as they had run out of some basic ingredients.
Location, staff, cleanliness.
Needs air con but appreciate it’s an old building
This is a hotel and a pub, but the pub is in a different building so there is no noise. I have stayed in different rooms over different stays, no all are equal. Some are very tired, some have been refurbished, depending on what you choose. Very good breakfast with à la carte selection of hot food, with full English to healthy choices. Good pastries, fresh fruits. Staff is very welcoming.
No a negative review just a word of warning. This is an old traditional hotel. Floors are squeaking, not straight, carpets can show some age, some bathrooms are very small… however it is clean, comfortable and functional.
All staff members we came in contact with were polite & friendly, had a nice meal in the restaurant on our first evening, breakfast was very nice on both mornings plenty of choice.
Bathroom was compact, larger guests would struggle to get around the door. But it was adequate and you have to take into account the age of the building.
We've stayed here previously, the night before a work event, and I'd recommend for anyone looking for good value accommodation in the area. We were well looked-after by Alex and the package we booked via Booking.com (dinner, bed & breakfast) was amazing value.
The rooms a little old, but they're clean, and as you might expect from an old, B&B/pub building.
Nice welcome by staff. Good room price.
Great location and comfortable
An old building but expected that
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very relaxed stay.
Nothing
I have stayed here numerous times Fantastic staff and rooms Excellent value for money would highly recommend
Nothing
Very central for visiting the deer park and Safari Park.
A surprisingly noisy road for a small town.
Very good breakfast. Excellent location for me. Was meeting a friend for lunch and preferred not to have a 45-50 minute drive home again. I meet another friend for lunch in Woburn and would certainly stay there overnight again.
There was nothing I didn't like. The staff both in the hotel and the "pub" opposite were great. I had the feeling that nothing would be too much trouble.
Lovely accommodation with old worldly charm. Great food, staff couldn’t help you enough. Within Woburn township nice walk to some great places try Woburn China shop.
Everything was fine.
Room was just the right size. Nice size bathroom and friendly staff
Shower in room could do with an upgrade
Rooms in the pub itself are very small and "quirky".
Window did not open in the bedroom, so got very hot.
Location and buildings were superb. Staff were helpful, just a little busy so initial contact took a few mins. Had not realised it was dog friendly, so noting that for when I return.
Very convenient for where we wanted to be , room was nice . Staff on reception and in the bar were very nice and helpful
The windows I’m guessing as it was ground floor were screwed shut and we couldn’t open and it was a bit stuffy when we arrived
The location was really good . The bed was really comfortable and the staff were really nice and helpful . We will definatly be back .
Our ensuite was really small and there was a strong smell of paint and until we got help the window wiuldnt open
The building itself is beautiful, particularly downstairs. Parking is great. The location is great with a number of pubs and restaurants to keep your occupied. We visited Paris House which I would definitely recommend and a short taxi ride away. The staff were lovely. The bedrooms and bathrooms are a little tired. I was lucky enough to have the bedroom in the main photos which was nice and probably nicer than some of the others. Great value for money. Breakfast was lovely and Cook cooked fresh freshly across the road in the pub.
I felt the bathrooms were a little dated, but the water pressure was fabulous, the location and staff made it very enjoyable.
The Bell Hotel was beautifully decorated in the public areas, which gave a warm welcoming feeling.i had a single room(not through choice). It had all I needed for a one night stay.
My room was very dated and didn’t reflect the stylish downstairs decor, which I found disappointing. The curtains were quite old and furniture dark and dated.
Clean room, comfy bed, quaint village, easy parking. I would stay there again.
I could hear people in the restaurant below my room until it shut at 2230 and could hear people moving around upstairs. The building is historic so the ceilings are low and you need to duck through doors.
Quirky, homely. On site bar.
Bed, very soft and noisy. Old frame and poss mattress too.
Colazione ottima e location fantastica, un posto dove sicuramente voglio tornare con più tempo e godermi il parco!! Un paradiso della natura!! Location centrale, staff veramente disponibilissimo sia al ristorante che in hotel.
central, clean and fab staff
Room was very warm
Very friendly staff and nice pub garden.
Room very noisy and hot no shower mat in bath so very slippery
Staff were very helpful and friendly upon arrival. Bed was comfortable, the room was nice and quiet. Breakfast was good too!

Great location, free parking. Good value
Room was absolutely tiny
people excellent. Breakfast very good!
Shower too small!
Lovely breakfast. Nice decor. Good seating in lobby. Nice pub opposite part of hotel. Deer in Woburn Park!
Took an age to check in but they were short staffed. Also room had safety device limited window opening on hottest day of the year!! Steep stairs were ok for us but be aware ( website does say this). Will Def return!
Value for money, exceptional service from the staff. Family friendly, and had no problem with the sudden influx of thirty people. Outstanding service
Bedroom was a trifle snug but old buildings are that way
Staff friendly.
Unfortunately there was a problem with a gas leak so breakfast was a little hit & miss but the staff did what they could understand the circumstances.
The price was very good for how well fitted the rooms were with comfortable thick duvets and pillows etc. Would definitely come back again!
Single room was a room not a broom cupboard.
Great choice of juices, spreads and pastries, always replenished and the choice of cooked food was great. Service brilliant.
Staff were brilliant very helpful, property was lovely and clean
Room was a bit small
Great location and excellent staff.
Breakfast choices for fruit, cereals and pastries very good. However, i opted for the English Breakfast and I found the ingredients - such as the sausages and bacon could have been better quality. My husband had the poached eggs with Hollandaise sauce and enjoyed these very much. But on the whole not bad at all.
Bed was a little hard and pillows could have been softer. A choice of pillows would have been nice.
Great restaurant over the road with very attentive staff. Ideal location on the high street with ample parking.
Room was a little small & the decor a bit dated.
