Good location. Friendly staff.

Last stayed here in 2022 and this is my 2nd time. Unlike previous, i got upgraded so thanks to Noah at front desk The suite is large, follows overall hotel design. Tv has CNN Gym is medium sized, ok. Hotel breakfast similar to other 4/5 stars in China Wifi here is the weak point. First night completely dead and i had to get the internal staff access. 2nd day weak throughout the hotel 9/10

This international hotel doesn't provide a VPN, unlike other international hotels throughout China. This makes it difficult when you're trying to work and I was very underwhelmed.

The room decor is quite dated and even though it is called JW Marriot Westlake, it's actually nowhere near Westlake, so keep this in mind if you're booking it and want somewhere to walk of an evening.

On my way to Fujian from Shanghai , I decided to make a pit stop to Hangzhou to meet some ex colleagues and decided to stay close to the old city center. By “old” indeed I can understand why my ex colleague said this is the old city center as the hotel definitely has lived a few decades. Upon entering the hotel , one can easily noticed that this hotel has been around for many years from the decor to the hardware but other than this, it is well maintained with excellent service . As I was looking for a quick laundry , I approached the concierge and was assisted by Henley who coordinated a laundry service nearby with pick up and return the very next day before I check out. The room is clean and meticulously maintained but the door definitely looked like 80s, but overall a great hotel that will stay as good this way as having major revamp may mean tearing it down!

Great location. Closer to everywhere you wanna go in Hangzhou. The place is clean and polished. Food is great. Staffs are polite and very helpful. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with all amenities. Just make sure to have your translation app ready.

I liked the room, lounge facilities and overall behaviour from the staffs. It's a great property.

At breakfast, there could have been a bit more Western or usual asian options than just pork and pure Chinese options. Halal food option is also necessary for muslim travellars.

The toilets should have biddet option as not all travellers are used of using toilet papers only.

The Hotel has great Service and lives up to its brand. Check in and check out was a breeze the room was nice the bed comfortable the shower has good pressure breakfast had a great spread of fresh fruit and vegetables. The AC was working well. Those who travel in china are aware of this issue… the rooms might be a bit outdated but it is well kept i rate this hotel 10/10.

My recent stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou was disappointing compared to other JW Marriott properties. Wi-Fi was unreliable, TV options limited, and the room felt dated with worn furnishings. The biggest issue was a bathroom drainage problem that led to flooding—unacceptable at this level. While the location is convenient and staff are friendly, maintenance and upkeep fall short of expectations. This property needs a serious refresh to match the JW Marriott standard.

Great location to the West Lake. Executive lounger offers good variety of food especially the happy hour. Breakfast spread was great too.

Toiletries- lotion, conditioner not being refilled. Bottled water also not consistently being placed in the room. Front desk was not thorough in searching up my booking. Not all equipment in the gym were functioning well, a little aged equipment. A number of hotel staffs are not very friendly / welcoming

I been with this hotel montly since 2023. the staff there are always great to my wife and I. Manager at the executive lounge, Alissa Zheng, always made me feel at home, make sure I feel ease when on business trip. Isn't that what everyone need? The feeling of home away from home. Glad to be the guest of this hotel.

Un personnel qui ne parle pas ou peu l’anglais. Une grosse problématique pour régler par carte Visa bien qu’elle soit acceptée. Une seule personne capable de faire fonctionner le terminal de paiement… après 2 longs passages à la réception. Un hôtel dédié à la population chinoise business. Au restaurant de l hôtel: impossible d obtenir les plats en meme temps. Service pas au point.

La chambre est propre, spacieuse et bien équipée . La salle de sport est grande et bien équipée

J’ai eu beaucoup de mal à payer en carte bleue visa . Ils ont dû s’y reprendre à plusieurs fois. Le choix des restaurant est limité lorsque nous sommes lundi ou mardi il n’y a qu’un seul restaurant d’ouvert !

L’hotel està molt bé. L’habitació es molt confortable i neta amb un bon bany integrat a través d’un vidre i el llit molt còmode. El gimnàs i la piscina estan molt bé i l’esmorzar te de tot.

A la reserva oferia habitació per tres adults i vam reservar. Quan vam arribar ens dinaven una habitació de matrimoni i vam dir que no, que la reserva era per tres. Després ens va donar habitació que tenia dos llits de uns 140 cm d’amplada. Espeerava un llit doble gran i un individual.

A staff member (Henley Chiu) at the concierge offered great help to me in locating good restaurants for enjoying Hangzhou food.

We stayed at the JW Marriott Hangzhou six years ago and then wrote a glowing review about Shaun Zhang, a young concierge who helped us enormously on our trip. He created a great itinerary and even found a hard-to-find charging cable for my laptop. We told ourselves back then that Shaun was the kind of person we’d love to hire in the United States. When we decided to return to Hangzhou this year, we booked the JW Marriott and wondered, “I wonder if Shaun still works there.” To our pleasant surprise, Shaun was at the front desk when we checked in. To no one’s surprise, he had been promoted to Assistant Manager 副经理. Shaun greeted us with a warm smile and once again made our stay at the hotel a wonderful experience. He truly knows how to make guests feel special. Shaun’s positive attitude and genuine warmth make every interaction enjoyable. I highly recommend the JW Marriott Hangzhou, especially knowing that Shaun has trained the staff to reflect his exceptional hospitality.

Parking is a bit tricky, but the hotel is fantastic in every way.

Каждое неправильное дыхание стоит денег. Через букинг даже изменить даты стоит 50% стоимости от номера. Я просто в шоке! Для того чтобы поменять даты брони нам пришлось попотеть аж 4 часа! Сказать что я расстроена это ничего не сказать

距离西湖风景区较近，出行方便。酒店高楼层可以远眺西湖，美景尽收眼底。酒店一楼的早餐不错，品种丰富，中西餐都有。食物新鲜、精致、不油腻。餐厅很大，服务员礼貌周到。

这次住的双床房，房间和浴室是玻璃隔开的，玻璃上只挂了无遮光效果的帘子，半夜起来上洗手间都不敢开灯，怕影响家人休息。希望能够改成不透光的帘子。

Rain 甘雨 at the lounge is awesome! She really went above and beyond and made sure our entire family had a wonderful stay at JW and Hangzhou. She was proactive in introducing the menu and offerings. She recommended sites to visit in the city and she was super attentive to the needs of our kids. She is the best!

I have spent the past ten months at the JW Marriott in Hangzhou, and during that time, I was continually impressed by Jennie’s warm hospitality. From the moment I stepped into the Executive Lounge, her friendly greeting and genuine interest in how my day was going made me feel right at home. It’s evident she is committed to creating a welcoming environment that puts guests at ease, whether they’ve just arrived or have been staying for weeks. Jennie also excels in cross-cultural communication. I once witnessed her step in to help a visiting Indian couple who struggled to convey their dietary restrictions in English. In a matter of moments, she coordinated with the kitchen team in Chinese and ensured they were fully understood and taken care of. Moments like these showcase her extraordinary ability to connect with guests from different backgrounds, ensuring everyone feels included and respected. Her personalized approach completes the trifecta of outstanding service. Jennie not only remembers small preferences, but she often anticipates needs before a guest even voices them. On one occasion, Jennie invited me to join a small group of international travelers she was chatting with, sparking conversations that led to lasting friendships. Additionally, noticing my fascination with a modern retelling of Moby-Dick (Call me Ishmaelle by Xiaolu Guo; highly recommended, although sacrificing some of the depth, complexity, and challenging ambiguity that make Melville's original a masterpiece), she discreetly ensured my coffee was always fresh, allowing me uninterrupted hours of reading enjoyment. I would also like to briefly acknowledge Alissa Zheng—truly JW’s “secret weapon”—and Rocky Zhu, whose lounge leadership has made these past few months unforgettable. I look forward to writing more in-depth about both of them—and others—throughout the remainder of my stay and beyond.

I have been with this particular hotel on a monthly basis since 2023. Come here once a month for work. I love the staff here, everyone treats me like a friend. Rocky at the executive lounge always provide me the best service, making sure my guest at the lounge have enough tea or coffee available. I would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

Hello, can we please thank Alissa for her amazing service and great personality at check in, and thank you for the warm greeting and fast communication regarding the suite being ready. The facilities are also amazing with new gym and sauna.

I stayed here for one night. The hotel is located in the city centre of Hangzhou. The hotel looks old but is well maintained with good amenities. My only complaint is the room electrical sockets aren't universal, but fortunately I brought an adapter. As a Marriot Elite member, I was upgraded to a large suite and they were kind enough to deliver a fruit basket. The Concierge staff were especially helpful. They also have a nice lounge which offers a variety of drinks and finger food, with a bird's-eye view of the city, lake, and buildings - a perfect place too for watching the sunset. Although my stay was less than 12 hours, I had a good rest and sleep overnight.

As always, The Executive Lounge access and breakfasts were well worth it. So nice to sit on the top.floor at night and enjoy cocktails. Excellent stay!
