A
Beautiful and clean cottage we stayed in . Location is just stunning .
Absolutely Loved our room and the hotel!
The hotel was fine but it's not worth the price. Staff were helpful when you could get one but the front desk was often unstaffed for long periods. Parking was a problem. We had to leave and eat somewhere else before checking in later that night. There isn't enough parking for the size of the hotel so I assume that you might never get to park there. Room was a bit worn i.e. tiles in shower were pink but one had clearly broken and been replaced with a green one.
The hotel was nice but the only way to our room was by 2 flights of stairs which made getting our bags to our room was a pain and would have been impossible for some. Staff at the desk was nice and freindly but the wait staff never smiled. Town is nice but i would stay in another town next time.
Ok hotel in a good location. Service was very poor. Bar staff complaining amongst themselves about management was very un professional. Food was expensive and mediocre. Room was nice with big bathroom but bed comfort was barely ok.
Absolutely wonderful hotel in an amazing setting! Great food, amazing stay!
Great area
Spotless, luxurious, friendly staff and superb food
An old hotel with lots of charm, in an outstanding village
Wonderful experience! My husband and I did a last minute trip to the Cotswold and found this gem a few days before. Completely in love with the property and the staff was so incredibly welcoming and kind. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Lovely place to stay, staff were super friendly - would recommend!
Really loved the hotel and the surrounding area. Staff has a tough job keeping the street traffic out of their private, residence only garden and it was a bit hard to enjoy a quiet afternoon with so many day-visiting tourists walking around us. Otherwise, the food and hospitality is top-notch and everyone’s very friendly.
The breakfast was great, but the furniture and decoration are quite old. This historic building is more than 400 yrs old so there are some uncomfortability like room temperature and opening the windows, etc.
High quality country inn in a beautiful setting. Great breakfast and staff!
Property was stunning. Good food. The staff especially Hugh were amazing!
Beautiful hotel-a must stay.
Lovely little hotel in an amazing location. We had a lovely time at the hotel, but there were quite a few maintenance points that you would expect to be addressed. The food on the whole was ok, but somehow missed the mark and the breakfast service on both days seemed disorganised.
very nice property but limited access to aminities and good restaurant in the area.
The elevator was greatly appreciated and the room and bathroom were nicely decorated. The breakfast was excellent. The area around the hotel was very scenic.
Staying at The Swan Hotel is truly like stepping foot into a fairy tale. It really does look as beautiful as in the pictures. All of the staff from the front desk to the bartender to the waiters in the restaurant were welcoming and made us feel at home. I wish I could have stayed longer and I will be dreaming of the day I can return.
Gorgeous hotel
Walking distance to Bibury Trout Farm, as we are meeting a few friends for a fishing adventure and a picnic.
Wonderful and charming inn in super charming village. Huge bathroom, well-appointed and very clean room. Great restaurant with friendly staff.
The staff were wonderful from booking in to to dining at the property to checking out. I was very happy with the experience. The cleanliness in the room was very good, but in the shower I noticed black mold in a few places on the grout. I personally am not allergic to the mold but many people are. Perhaps the shower area should be inspected on a weekly basis?
Cosy rooms and fantastic scenery right in the middle of Bibury.
Tough parking. Food only adequate. Good staff. No elevator to top floor. No bellman.
All was wonderful. Maria in the restaurant was fabulous!
Hotel is very comfortable, unique and quiet. The breakfast is great and staff are very helpful , recommend 👍
The Cotswolds are beautiful and the Swan is Lovely!! We lived the location, the staff, the room, and pretty much everything!!
Expected food to be better. Breakfast was fine but evening meals could use improvement.
The hotel is in the best possible location for Bibury and exploring nearby villages. Super friendly welcome for us and our dog. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea there. Lots of quality bits from the Nespresso, to the Milton Brown goodies in the bathroom. Breakfast was tasty with a continental buffet pre hot food. Only downside is our room was like a furnace despite turning the radiators down - opened the windows and it was then fine. I can see how parking would be a challenge in peak time (summer) but in winter it was fine.
Thanks for the amazing front desk staff and restaurant staff ( especially breakfast). We had a fantastic staycation with out 5 years old. The room decoration, bathroom facility and outdoor was magical.
Absolutely wonderful experience! The staff was helpful way beyond what they had to do.
Traditional country hotel with friendly helpful staff and beautiful setting - excellent restaurant and food choice - clean and well appointed property full of character
Staff was very helpful. food very good ... Although a casual setting. The hotel, setting and surrounding property are quite striking.
Beautiful town and The Swan is situated very nicely there.
A beautiful hotel with gorgeous manicured grounds. The dining room choices were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this establishment.
Gorgeous experience! Perfect location to walk all around town. Restaurant on site or walking distance. We had one of the very spacious cottages. The 1st floor is a living room and going up the winding stairs to the bedroom and bathroom. Parking is onsite and whoever gets there first. Right across the street is a wonderful walk along the water that is filled with swans and ducks. Cute bar and outside patio with beautiful flowers. Staff are great especially Maria who is always everywhere being helpful with a beautiful smiling face! We really enjoyed our vacation time from the USA - thank you!
W
in the beautiful Cotswolds, a gem that never disappoints
We enjoyed everything about this stay. 10/10
Julia was very helpful. Thank you!
Very charming hotel in an enchanting village. We had a memorable stay at the Swan. Wished we could have stayed longer.
Beautiful hotel! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful! Room was spotless and very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were excellent!
Amazing location and great service. One or two things amiss at dinner (forgot a couple of things) but made amends. Also check the bill! We were given someone else’s at check-out. Human error an certainly not a deal-breaker. The cottage rooms are lively but do lack some amenities: there is no fridge and no hanging space for clothes. Also there is a gap in the front garden hedge of Trumpeter cottage that a small dog (like our cockapoo) could escape through. We informed them and should be an easy fix.
Beautiful property in heart of the Cotswolds.
Only downside is lack of A/C. This is a problem in June when we stayed. Everything else was lovely.
The hotel was fine, however the food choices were limited for vegetarians and the restaurant staff looked overworked and were a bit rude
great
Beautiful historic property in the “prettiest” village in England! Great breakfast, staff accommodating , room clean and spacious. Loved every minute!
So beautiful. The staff were so nice. Rooms were comfortable and pretty. Restaurant is fab.
This was such a majestic hotel. It was a beautiful mixture of both quaint and elegant which is very fitting for the Cotswolds. The food at the restaurant was absolutely fantastic
Too many tourists
Very comfortable
From the moment we stepped into reception the courtesy & friendliness was second to none. The only improvement we would like to see would be a bar menu for the evening when a 3 course meal would be too much. A ploughman’s or sandwich would be ideal.
All staff from management through to restaurant staff were extremely friendly and professional. We are made to feel very welcome. Will definitely be returning. Well done!
The Swan is one of the prettiest hotels I’ve stayed at. The hotel is beautiful and the surroundings are gorgeous. Lovely staff and accommodations. I highly recommend this hotel!
We wanted to visit to beautiful Cotswold village of Bibury and the Swan Inn is right in the centre. Everything is very close. The property is full of character and the service excellent. Our room was spotless, with large bathroom and homely atmosphere. The breakfast was very generous. Highly recommended
Hotel was gorgeous and so comfortable.
Lovely location, staff well trained and friendly. Breakfast was one of the best we have had in recent years. Great base for discovering the Cotswolds.
Generally good stay. But visitor information was poor eg no guide to the hotel facilities such as times, menu and local facilities eg doctor. Room layout was perhaps cramped with restricted area for making drinks etc. Also no biscuits provided. Sickly chocolates instead! Towel rail inadequate so we couldn’t dry towels. Breakfast selection was very poor eg no cereals offered apart from stodgy, cold porridge. Overdone streaky bacon every day! The dining room was cold!
The location and situation of the Swan hotel are exceptional. It is well positioned and boasts an impressive view over the River Coln and the surrounding plain. Staff overall very good service. Negatives were the natural light in the room is poor. We ordered the crochets from the starters menu which were tiny and for £8.50 are a rip off, just remove from the menu. Overall very satisfied with the hotel and was worth the money.
Delightful position with very attentive staff, topped with excellent food.
Beautiful setting and facilities let down by mediocre dinner service and below par food. Dinner of 2 courses took 2 hours to complete. Missing cutlery, condiments and crockery at dinner and breakfast. 4 star prices for mediocre food and service.
Garden grounds are stunning. Bldf and cottage was charming. Staff was excellent especially Caroline ar reception.
Beautiful garden and surrounding. High quality breakfast. Centrally located and very quite
Location next to wonderful Cotswold walks, the friendly professional staff, excellent food What could be better. Thank you!
Location and extraordinary staff team WOW!!!
Stunning property in a beautiful town. Fabulous service (Maria especially was a delight) in a lovely setting. Comfy beds, clean, spacious rooms, wonderful dining, gorgeous patio….we will be back!!
Great, staff , great location but I was unlucky to spend a night in the room number 1…. No view , not very clean, toilets barely working and some noise coming from I don’t know where just behind my head all night long..
Property in excellent condition for 500 year old structure with marvelous history. Staff delightful and very helpful. Could not find anything to make a negative comment on.
A gorgeous hotel in a gorgeous village in the Cotswolds. The surrounding landscaping was absolutely beautiful and the hotel is perfectly located to enjoy Bibury
beautiful setting and lovely room.
Excellent stay all round, attentive staff, delicious food and great room.
Wonderful location and excellent customer service. Made to feel very welcome.
Everything was perfect
Lovely hotel and nice decor. Pretty bibury. Staff were very attentive but we had 3 different waiters asking for our orders etx so got abot confusing.
Inconsistencies in service and food, but in general a lovely hotel, with very comfortable rooms, in a beautiful part of the country.
This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful village with very comfortable accommodation and excellent restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent location and staff very helpful. We stayed in the whooper cottage which had a private hot tub which was wonderful. Evening meal and breakfast at the hotel was also very good so cannot really fault our stay.
The bathroom water tabes were not functioning and problem with cold water in morning.
Great location and excellent service!
A relaxing three night stay for our family in a beautiful setting. I would highly recommend it to all!
Wonderful staff, went out their way to ensure we had a premium feeling stay. Beautiful building and room. Just wished we’d have stayed longer!
Fantastic stay the room was lovely and the bed really comfortable and I can’t speak highly enough about how attentive the staff were. The food was delicious and walking around the trout farm at Bibury was an unexpected delight.
Overall very enjoyable. Room not serviced every day and car parking was a challenge but the hotel resolved it. Staff were very amenable and friendly. The size of the cottage bedroom was extensive and well ventilated and heating was effective.
Check in very good, very positive. Nice room and clean. Service in the restaurant very average and did not come up to the standard of their Burford hotel, 12.5pcnt service is charged automatically so no incentive. No complaints paying if you get a good service.
Lovely hotel! I would definitely recommend. Enjoyed the following: - helpful staff, who were customer oriented - restaurant on premise was decent. Breakfast was really good with plenty of options available -free parking available - comfortable rooms, that appeared to be newly refurbished, large bathrooms - Good location
Very nice and polite team. Room was clean and big. Very quite and ideal for rest.
This is THE place to stay if you want to get a taste of the Cotswolds. The place itself is beautiful and out of several towns/villages, Bibury was our favorite. The manager, Amanda, was very helpful and friendly. She helped us check in when we got there a bit after the front desk had closed, showed us to our table at the restaurant, made sure our order came out great and made a few recommendations for the following day to get to know the are, which we did! The restaurant at this place is so good; we had breakfast and dinner every day and they were perfect. We had the dinner delivered to our cottage on night and everything was excellent. Highly recommend the stone sea bass and the Full English Breakfast. Everyone on staff was super friendly, parking was there on site and our accommodations were perfect. Must stay here!
We stayed in a lovely cottage and it felt like a welcome home from home. So private and quiet. Everything in the cottage was provided at a high standard. Bring a sleeping eye mask as the light of dawn will leak in. But that it, that’s my only small complaint. The team at the Swan are exceptional and especially Christian who looked after us the whole time. All the food (we had dinner and breakfast as part of our rate) was wonderful. Tasty and a great variety too. The wine by the glass is very generous. Finally you cannot top the location and the ease of getting everywhere from Bidbury. We will be back!
The property is very charming and the rooms are amazing. The food and service was very average for the price. And there aren’t any good restaurants near by as well.
Everything was as expected. Could do with grab rails and anti-slip in the shower
Hotel in a beautiful setting. Check in very welcoming and quick. We had drinks in the bar and evening meal. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and eager to please. Food was delicious. Breakfast also delicious , we had porridge which was served lovely and hot. Bed was very comfortable and everything spotless. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay
Super romantic place with details to attention to the highest standard in and out, all the staff were genuinely friendly.
We chose this hotel to get married in 2 years ago. What really sold it to both of us was the quality of the food and the friendly staff. On every occasion; at the wedding and our two anniversary visits since the standard has never faltered. We highly recommend it and intend to repeat our anniversary visits and also day trips. The food is exceptional. This last visit was fully booked, but the staff were very friendly, helpful and although busy nothing was too much trouble.
I came and stayed in the Swan about two years ago for a coupe of nights, my room was amazing the best ever i have stayed in. But i found our room this time , tired. Upset that my son who lives in the village could come and have breakfast with us, (he lives in Arlington row).
Lovely stay with our children before heading off to Uni/Work.
We had a lovey nights stay at the swan for my birthday. The room was very comfortable and the evening meal tasty. The staff coped well despite the current unusual circumstances
