The Stump

The food and drink were great, room's were clean and comfortable. Stayed in the cottage the night before as part of a wedding party and both room's were incredible.

My room had a bath by the window at the base of the bed. I was looking forward to having one with the curtains and windows open but unfortunately couldn't as it looked out to the car park. Potential there to plant some plant's, tree's and bushe's inbetween to allow for more privacy. Also felt the window for breakfast was incredibly short.

The large parking area behind the B&B. We could see our car from our room. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The restaurant/pub/pizzeria had good food and service.

We couldn’t order the roasted chicken from the lunch menu for dinner.

Unfortunately I found the mattress a bit on the soft side for me, so didn't sleep too well.

Disappointed with the Cicken Milanese ,chicken was dry and served with a few lettuce leaves only ,costing £20 . Ordered potatoes as an extra but they tasted as they had been warmed up rather than cooked freshly. On the second night my husband ordered a pizza which was really nice ,I had a rib eye steak which was beautifully cooked ,served with crunchy potatoes, a bit disappointing as there was no veg ,costing £38 . Perhaps a more varied menu would be something to consider .

Zimmer etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Dunkle Zimmer. Waschbecken mit jeweils einem Wasserhahn für heiß und einem für kalt. Insgesamt eher klein. Kein Fön im Zimmer. Fliegengitter wären gut, da viele Krabbeltiere im Zimmer unterwegs sind

The tolet would not stop running ,I had to ask for it to be looked at twice befor someone came over . Also one of the windows would not close without it being slammed .

We had a very comfortable room with a very good bed. The building and grounds are very charming. Excellent parking. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Excellent breakfast.

My only reservation is about the food offered at lunchtime. It is primarily pizza. Other choices are limited and we paid a lot for a rather tepid pasta dish.

We stayed for a night on our way to Devon. Warm welcome by all staff. Very accommodating as they were full for dinner. Managed to squeeze us in. The food was amazing- fresh traditional hand made pizza and reasonably priced. Breakfast included- delicious. Room was small but modern clean and well equipped Beey quiet considering the Stump is on a busy road. Would definitely return. Super base for exploring the area

A fabulous stay for our wedding party. From start to finish, the place was a dream. The comfiest bed we've every stayed in and we travel all over the world. So much so, we've bought the same mattress and pillows. :-) The service, food and staff here are second to none. Just a shame it's already booked out to celebrate our anniversary next year.

Our key card didnt work on our return from a wedding at midnight. The Stump was deserted of staff. We tried 4 numbers on the emergency contact sign with all going to voicemail. We tried the first number a second time and fortunately someone answered! We eventually got into our room after 45mins of trying. Sorry not acceptable.

Helpful and friendly staff

Room #1 is a small attic room with limited storage and inadequate ventilation. We were disappointed with our stay with poor sleep quality in the hot temperature. The bed duvet was a heavy weight duvet not suitable for July weather.

Immaculate room with great attention to detail. Also we'd booked a double, and were ungraded by the Stump to the top floor of a cottage which was very well equipped which made it great value when we booked the one Sunday night just a few days ahead. Staff were all absolutely delightful and helpful (we'd dropped into the Swan in Bibury earlier in the day, where the bar staff serving us clearly didn't want to be there, and didn't want us to be there either!) Well located on A road for getting into Cirencester, and the minor road opposite goes to Bibury, around 2 or 3 miles away. Restaurant mainly serving pizzas, and a few other meal options. Stump very good at providing information in advance, including sample menu and advice to book a table in the restaurant (which we didn't, and while fully booked inside there was plenty of room outside on a warm day - meals were only served until 20:30). Breakfast was generous and really good, set me up for the day. Cottage was close to the A road, but we had the fan in the room running all night so could keep the windows closed, and the gentle hum of the fan meant we didn't hear any traffic. Was very good value when booked through Booking.com.

Some rooms close to the A road, the Stump do warn you in advance that there might be some noise, though we weren't disturbed and slept well. We weren't prepared for quite how busy the village of Bibury gets on a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon, with coach parties etc, we should have visited early morning before it gets silly!

We got married down the road so location was great, easy check in and very comfortable beds.

After a full day of heat we were happy to see a fan in the room, however the blades kept getting stuck on the grill and made a really loud noise, so loud we couldn’t have it on and the room was very hot all night. I let a member of staff know in the morning so hopefully it will be replaced soon.

Fabulous room. Very spacious. Immaculately clean. Free Parking. One evening, the Stump has a power cut, which the staff handled with aplomb. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast. The poached eggs, were cooked to perfection When we got home me, we realised, we'd left a couple of items behind. Maxine, the housekeeper, kindly posted these items back to us. I have nothing but high praise for the place

This isn't a complaint. Only an observation. The menu, is heavily slanted towards Pizzas. They are made to order. And are excellent. If pizzas are not your thing, there is a pub down the road called 'The Inn', which has a more varied menu

The bar prices were far too high £26.00 for 2 pints of Estrella Galicia, Olives and smoked almonds was extortion. We didn't stay for a second drink .

The property was beautiful with amazing views.

It is located in the middle of Perast with no access road, only foot paths. The instructions by the property for parking and checking in were extremely confusing.

Placed in an attic room which was dangerously hot for our baby even with two fans going all night. Staff were helpful but we didnt sleep much.

The bed was comfortable (Room 2) and it was nicely decorated. The shower system was easy to use. The bar staff were friendly and helpful.

The room we stayed in was the smallest double room we have ever stayed in (Room 2). The door to the bathroom opens only to 45 degrees before hitting the bed so you had to go in sideways. Unbelievable how it can be described as a double room. Long bits of hair picked off the bedding which we reported at the time. Not great. The water ran too hot.

Location convenient for the Cirencester area, with a car.

Place was amazing. The mattresses were plush and wonderful. Service/Staff went above and beyond. Would highly recommend this place.

街から離れたところで、周りに何もないということ自体が楽しみとなります。 わたしたちの時は、薄く雲がかかかっていたので、北斗七星や一等星、零等星が認識できた程度でしたが、夜は星がきれいに見えるはずです。 設備は一通りそろっています。Towel Rail (タオル掛け) や部屋のラジエーターは良く機能していました。(ただし、扇風機が置いてあったので、暑い時期には困るかもしれません。) スタッフはてきぱきとして、仕事の速いタイプ、という感じでしょうか。丁寧という感じこそありませんが、親切な感じでした。

わかって予約したことなので不満ではありませんが、部屋はさすがに狭いです。椅子も一つしかありません。 いずれにしても、一泊を楽しむというつもりでの予約だったし、不満ではありません。 ただ、部屋はドアや窓が直接、庭・通路に面しているタイプなので、人の往来や話し声が直接伝わってきます。 なお、良くなかったということではないのですが、レストランは普通のパブとは違って、ピザ窯のあるイタリアン系の料理です。ピッツア・マルゲリータもありますが、Cheesy Garlic Bread を注文したら、ガーリック&チーズのピザでした。AIに訊いてみると、ピザ窯のあるようなイタリアン系では、Breadといってもピザ生地で作るのが普通なのだとか。

Absolutely beautiful, loved my courtyard room. It was the hottest day of the year and the room provided a fan but boy did I need air conditioning. Very hot in the room but otherwise my room was fab!!

The Stump is a lovely old inn conveniently located near Cirencester and within easy reach of the beautiful Cotswolds villages and attractions. We were attending a wedding at Cripps Barn - only 1.5 miles away. Our room (No 9) was off the pretty courtyard. It was spacious and very quiet. Comfortable bed, quality bedding and soft towels and robes. The powerful fan was very much appreciated given the extremely hot weather! Breakfast was delicious and all the staff delightful. Huge car park too! Would most certainly recommend and would love to stay again.
