Very hospitable staff, comfortable bed, good breakfast.
One day’s notice that the kitchen was closed, so no cooked food. No WiFi in room.
Lovely location and building
The continental breakfast was meant to be served from 7am as informed by the bar staff. In the morning at 7:15am, my colleague went down to the bar to find it in darkness. No breakfast ready, so he left. Shower was also broken and fell on his head mid shower. No Wifi or signal in the room. Disappointing stay and expensive for room only
Silenzioso facile da trovare personal e gentile
Moquette delle scale e della camera con odore forse da pulire un po' meglio.
the food and service was excellent.
wifi signal for radio/tv room was non existent
Friendly staff and lovely quiet location.
Some carpets/paintwork needed a few touch ups but it didn't hinder our stay in any way.
Lovely hotel in a lovely area, nice staff, great pub and garden.
It was boiling hot and the fan wasn't adequate.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, particularly to the dog. Lovely morning coffee. The food was very tasty and fresh. Not too far from Cirencester town but I would recommend a car.
Breakfast was nice
Dirty, cobwebs, spiders and could do with a little TLC
Everything was perfect
Wifi a bit hit and miss
Staff were amazing really welcoming
Breadrooma nit ideal, they did move us from the back room to a front room., there choice, it was during the ht spell so we had 1 fan in the room, windows due to age of the property didn't open very much. We like to watch the TV last thing of a night and 1st thing in a morning to catch up on the news but the tv wouldnt work, apparently there is different wifi for upstairs to downstairs, the manager said he would reboot the wifi box but it was quite clear this wasn't going to work, Very disappointing breakfast, when we go away we always like a cooked breakfast and didn't see on any details this wasn't an option, so we were greeted the next morning with some cereal, 1 cold crossant each and a piece of sour dough toast, we were told this is all they offered, the 2nd morning we did get a warm crossant. I don't like sour dough bread so ask for a piece of brown toast but was told t wasn't an option as they had what they were given. We both felt the managers were under tremendous pressure to keep the place afloat which is a shame because they were really lovely people. We got the impression that the pub was in Difficulty which is a real shame because managers were trying so hard. I'm afraid we wouldn't think stopping here again, we ordered drinks from the Bar to be told they'd run out of a simple sauvgion blanc white wine which is real poor , Its a real shame
Quiet location - enjoyed walk recommended in the area. Very old property and liked our room. Convenient parking. Enjoyed an evening meal.
Continental breakfast was fine with good rate for B and B but would have preferred more variety with option of a cooked breakfast.
I needed a place to stay for a local wedding and this was an ideal country retreat for the stay. The room was a good size and the food excellent. If you like small, independent and countryside accommodation then this should be on your list
Room was cosy, staff very polite and helpful and the garden was amazing!
The room was spotless & very comfortable. No noise even though it was on a main road. The staff were so friendly and made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will go back.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The building and grounds were beautiful.
Friendly, helpful staff who made us feel welcome.
It’s a stunning location and full of character run by great people and the good is delicious
Liked it all
Clean, comfy room. Lovely owners/hosts. Good location. Nice breakfast. Generous tea/coffee provisions in room.
Room was very hot, but there was a heat wave, and fans were provided and cold water available and replenished often, thank you.
Idealic country pub in a scenic location.. It was comfortable and quiet, and the owners were accommodating and friendly. The food was good, homely, and a lovely pub dog.
A wonderful authentic stay in the Cotswolds. Friendly and welcoming and a lovely continental breakfast.
Loved the warm and incredibly friendly staff. The pup is AMAZING and the breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommended. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
Nothing. It was perfect in every way.
Great staff & a very warm welcome. We were on a 13 day tour & the bed was definitely the most comfortable one. We had dinner in the evening which was excellent & the continental breakfast was great. I will be back!!
Location, setting, staff and food
Beautiful location and a very cosy pub and rooms. We were on a little weekend break in the Cotswold and this place offered what we needs and I can say it was a good choice. The staff is very polite and friendly and made us feel like at home. The breakfast was really good; we also ordered eggs Benedict, very tasty. Our room was comfortable, clean, and had plenty of tea and coffee, hot chocolate, milk could be requested and they would bring to the room. I love the big beer garden and also the host recommended a few places we can visit. I recommend the place and would gladly come back
The bathroom floor could do with a bit more thorough cleaning around the corners by the sink, which were dusty and also behind the toilet seat. The bath in our room had some chipped enamel marks which looked a bit like a few big flies are in the bath :) (sorry that’s how it looked to me)
Friendly and helpful staff
There was no dinner service on Bank Holiday Monday, which was not mentioned on the booking site
We had a great stay at The Bathurst Arms over the Easter long weekend. Lovely old pub and all the staff were super friendly! Absolute highlight was the pub dog Cruz
Nothing
The bed was good
There is no celular signal in the hotel location. So our smartphones did not work. The TV in our room didn’t work at all; I was told that the problem was with the internet. As we checked in at 3:30 pm, I asked if we could change rooms. I was told they were fully booked and all but one room had the same problem. It is what it is! Nothing solved and no interest was shown by the staff.
The food was very good. The menu had unusual items, not just "pub food" and was well cooked and presented, with good service. Good range of drinks in the bar and a good wine list. Very nice bar and dining area. I would definitely recommend as a place to eat. Also has a nice garden area for the summer. Tea, toast and cereal were included in the morning but anything more had to be paid for and ordered the night before.
The bar was pretty much empty apart from us so we felt that we had to go to our room straight after dinner. The room was very small, which we expected and wasn't a problem but it was in need of some updating. The TV didn't work - it appeared to come through the internet - which was erratic - but we couldn't get anything at all which wasn't great as we'd gone to the room so early. The bathroom was also small and definitely needs an upgrade. Small bath which had chips out of it and a shower which was just about OK. However the tatty window didn't shut properly and the radiator was rusty. Nice Bramley toiletries. If there are better rooms, we maybe could have been given one of those as there was only one other guest. We felt the room we had was overpriced for what we got so wouldn't stay again.
Aesthetically pleasing on arrival but having stayed realised the property is in need updating
There was no running water in the shower or bath The manager did not apologise but said we did not wait long enough. There was no notification explaining that the water took a long time to arrive!!
The food and location was excellent. Friendly staff who work hard for you
Small room. Poor WiFi It was April Get the woodburners going. Two would warm the dining rooms.
Un bel pub personale accogliente camere pulite e cibo ottimo. Ma soprattutto il dolce Cruise ha allietato le serate
Really lovely property in an exceptional location. Sherry & Jason could not have worked harder to make our stay memorable. Food was great, lovely atmosphere in the bar area. Great place for a weekend retreat.
In a location like this, expect poor signals. WiFi in the hotel, but as soon as you move out, it’s spotty. But tbh, it didn’t matter.
From the moment I arrived, I received a genuinely warm welcome that set the tone. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always happy to help, which made me feel relaxed straight away. A special mention has to go to the family dog, Cruz, who was just lovely and added an extra personal touch to the experience. The atmosphere throughout was comfortable and inviting, and it’s clear the team really care about their guests’ experience. Overall, a lovely stay.. happily return and would definitely recommend to others.
Nothing
The owner are very welcoming and the place is clean -quiet and comfortable.
The breakfast should have been included
Good
Included in room price
Fantastic welcoming service and exactly the quiet get away we wanted! The rooom was cute and very comfortable, with a lovely window to look out of. The staff gave us great advice for our local walk and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a lovely escape ☺️
Great cozy pub with nice clean rooms. Very welcoming and accommoding hosts. Good wifi. Very cozy pub and restaurant downstairs with nice food.
The showers were too old. They did not have enough pressure and took too long for warm (never hot) water to come out.
Not that much. The full English breakfast on the 2nd morning was good.
Luke warm shower in winter, not good. No wifi connection in the room only in the bar. Had to join some account that was a huge effort than didn’t work. The chef on the Friday night and the Saturday morning was not the normal chef and the food was not worth the cost of what was charged. Poached eggs that were hard, the host said yeah not the normal chef but you then don’t turn around and charge the price they did. The crab burger, smallest crab I have ever seen.
Character property, friendly staff
Dirty carpets leading to rooms, dirty glasses on breakfast table, poor breakfast described as a continental breakfast it wasn’t cereals , only sourdough bread toasted and put on a plate, asked for wholemeal bread or just ordinary bread “we don’t do any other bread” overpriced desserts very poor.I sent mine back as it was nothing like its description.
Parking good. Staff very accommodating. Breakfast was good. Tea was good in the room and it was nice to have fresh milk.
Nothing.
We absolutely loved our stay at The Bathurst Arms. We happened to arrive later than expected but the owner's really kindly stayed up so they could check us in when we arrived, they were so friendly and welcoming, really lovely hosts. The breakfasts were really good and the meal we had on the Saturday night was delicious, especially the desert! The pub had a great friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and the location was perfect for what we wanted, we will definitely be visiting again.
Quality
It was satisfying
The Bathurst Arms, was in a great location, with a building full of character and great value for money, the landlord and lady and all the staff were super friendly, and did everything to make the stay thoroughly enjoyable, I was sad to leave, but will certainly be staying there again in the near future
Room was small but adequate
Dear Sir. To our great surprise the hotel was found to be very substandard and definitely not as advertised on Booking. com. Our stay of two nights for three double rooms had to be cancelled after one night since is was definitely not of a four star standard. Please refer to the below list which is also supported with photographs for your perusal. No internet connection service in room No intercom or telephone connection to reception Unacceptable level of dirty carpets and furnishings No proper fire protection primarily doors elevated by 2to 3cm above floor level Extremely small walkaround space of 25cm around bed. Broken lampstands and damaged headboards Dirty/stained fixtures and fittings. Window that does not close and lock up resulting in poor insulation. No air conditioning. Portable element heater provided with a high risk of being a fire hazard if left unattended. Tv was out of order. No shower hand held devise in bath tub. No proper wardrobe May I also inform you that although I understand that the hotel falls under the limitations of old heritage standards , it is also a fact that this property is definitely not protected for fire suppression ( not withstanding if it holds any form of certification) and does not reflect the description it is being advertised thus misleading to guests. La In this respect it is very important that apart from a proper investigation of this hotel, I would like to be at least refunded for the three rooms that were vacated for one night due to such circumstances. I reiterate the importance of looking into this matter with utmost urgency and hopefully have the necessary information updated to the benefit and protection of all the rights of future guests. Please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience and request any photographs for your assessment of my genuine complaint. Thanks and regards.
Close to local wedding venue
The room was tired and expensive for what it was. However, it was close to a local wedding venue, which was why it was chosen and why it costs so much per night I must however point out that the food in the evening was good, as was the breakfast
An incredibly enjoyable experience. The staff was overwhelmingly friendly and made us feel welcome the second we walked in. The place had an incredible atmosphere felt cozy, and historic, and all the meals we had there were just perfect! It felt like home away from home… But even better!
I recommend adding a cooked breakfast, this (and dinner) was great. The new managers are working really hard to upgrade the facilities - the whole place is a little gem and very friendly - and dog friendly.
some of the bathrooms need a bit of an upgrade, but they were clean and functional and did not detract from our stay.
The staff are absolutely fantastic, so attentive friendly, and the food is absolutely amazing. What an outstanding meal best steak pie ever with great service.
The total experience from staff food cleanliness great pint and dog friendly no more said.
The staff were all very pleasant.
The accommodation is in need of a bit of TLC
The accommodation and pub were lovely, as were the hosts. We enjoyed our stay in this great location in the Cotswolds.
Unfortunately there were issues on both days of our stay with the hot water, so we couldn't wash as there was no water to the rooms. Apparently this is a legacy issue with the brewery and the previous Tenants, so hopefully it will be fixed soon.
Location was beautiful 😍
Shower head only had 2 settings n the water wasn't pipping hot when running a bath n not hotels fault but signal is awful lol
Lovely country pub with lots of character and friendly staff. The breakfasts were tasty too.
WiFi didn’t reach the bedrooms and the TV didn’t work ( but we didn’t need it anyway)
Friendly helpful staff. Great location
Room very small. Needs upgrading. No WiFi in room and half of the premises
Calme, gentillesse, auberge traditionnelle, bonne cuisine maison.
Great peaceful location and comfortable
For the price a good breakfast should really be included
Loved everything about the Bathurst Arms . The food was superb and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Excellent stay
Lovely old pub, really well positioned for visiting key places. Food was very nice and well presented.
No air con and drinks were rather pricey in the bar
Location, food and atmosphere
Nothing not to like
Very quaint old pub clean and very comfortable, great food nice restaurant and separate pub and outdoor has a lot of tables and garden area and parking; staff is wonderful !
Small Shower could be larger but had plenty of hot water!
Well presented pub in a lovely location. Lovely big beer garden (mixture of tables in shade and sun) and by the river. Both adult and children’s menu quite extensive as are the drinks. Great drinks and food was very good. I had the duck salad and my daughter the burger. A lovely meal in a lovely place we shall definitely return.
Lovely comfortable bed. Staff at the bar were great, especially new kid.
No hot water (or any indication of recompense when pointed out. (Apparently, the boiler had reset because of a power cut a few days earlier?) No wifi (it's a black spot). Band turned up for outside pub customers, which was directly in front of my room, and the window did not shut properly. The room wasn't serviced, so coffee cups, etc, were not cleaned up or replenished, bed made, etc. Didn't bother me, but it wasn't exactly an economy room! I gather the owner is relatively new, and it's not easy getting staff. Everyone I met was really friendly and working hard, though, so you've got to cut them some slack, I suppose..... Would I stay again? Maybe.
Staff and location, excellent breakfast.
Rooms require updating.
The new owners could not be more helpful...the food was delicious...lovely,unspoilt traditional English country pub with comfortable rooms
Wifi was good downstairs...a bit patchy upstairs..
My husband and I stayed at the Bathurst Arms for 3 nights. The room was small, but very comfortable. You just need to mind your head if you are over 6 feet tall! The staff were friendly and professional. The breakfasts, dinner and snacks in the bar were delicious. We did a couple of nice, short hikes in the surrounding countryside and there is a lovely old church opposite the Arms. It was fun mingling in the pub every evening with the regulars. Thanks for a great stay!
the food was lovely and the bed was comfy the toilet seat was loose and there was a problem with the toilet flusher .the taps on the sink were loose which made it hard to turn on and off .I didn't think the room was worth the money we paid and im not sure it was a 4 star bed and breakfast
the bed was very big and spacious and the breakfast was really good
Nice country pub, good food lovely atmosphere. Rooms very clean.
The Evening meal, well priced and very good
This the first place I have ever stayed where there was not a full continental breakfast on offer. For £134, I would have expected a full breakfast to be included.
Sudden decision to take a trip out and came upon the Bathurst Arms. Shown to a table straightaway, ordered drinks (draughty beer - excellent) and off lunchtime menu. Excellent value and food cooked to exceptional standard. Really friendly staff, polite and courteous. Thoroughly recommend.
Very clean throughout very friendly staff,an enjoyable stay.
Love the staff and people there always make you feel welcome and valued
Tired decor but the new owners are working on this and are passionate to drive this forward
Staff and locals very friendly, made us feel very welcome. Food outstanding, especially the Mushroom pie and Fruit Crumble, Sticky Toffee pudding, Baby Guiness Brownie, Breakfast plenty to choose from, Room comfortable and clean. Lovely peaceful place to have a break. Thank you very much for my Chocolate Bar, very nice touch for my Birthday, we stayed here 6 years ago and we stayed in the same room. I would like to recommend this place, and will definitely return. The new owners are very lovely. friendly, and hospitable. Thank you very much Bathurst Arms 10/10. 😊
Fantastic stay. The hotel and pub was amazing - the rooms were clean and cosy. Staff were incredibly accommodating too
We stayed here after visiting the beautiful gardens over the road. The new tenants are lovely. We had dinner and breakfast, all gluten free and no contamination. All meals were delicious. A nicely situated, lovely country pub with local flavour.
The new managing staff were very friendly and helpful. Fresh towels every day, good food and comfortable room. Excellent location.
Breakfast was great.
The new leaseholders had just arrived before our visit. They realise that the Punch group owners need to spend some cash to bring the Inn up to date. Good luck to the new leaseholders. From first impressions they deserve to succeed.Bar some issues with the bathroom we enjoyed the stay.
The Staff were very friendly.
It was tired. The bathroom had a lot of black on the grout. The toilet was brown on the waterline. Didn’t replenish tea/coffee tray for the following morning.
