We've stayed a few times over the years and have always been pleased with our room, service etc.
Nothing to do with Baynards but to do with the council. We parked at the Park & Ride only to find out they had ended the bus, according to the council Sept 16 is no longer high season, unbelievable! I looked online and it said you now needed the 92 bus which would come into the car park, it doesn't and there isn't a 92 bus, luckily a member of the public told us to walk over to Sainsbury's and get the number 90 bus into town (£5.00 for both of us). We entered the car park at around 15.00 and the car park closes at 18.00 but the cost was a massive £10.00 for 3 hours and no P&R bus! The toilets in the P&R were locked, we had a very long wait for the 90 bus and those on it, both residents of the Dartmouth area and P&R customers were furious about the lack of a P&R bus and couldn't believe the council now considered September to be low season. We have decided not to visit Dartmouth again in the future due to the lack of a bus, toilet facilities etc, a great pity but we weren't alone, others we spoke to felt the same, parking is far too expensive, P&R bus stopped in what we all considered to still be high season and no information at the P&R to explain where to pick up a bus to get into town and then another charge for the bus (surely P&R customers should not be charged for the bus! Sorry Bayards, not your fault but very doubtful we'll be back, totally due to a small mixed council. We'll miss you.
Cosy room with an extremely comfortable bed and lovely bed linen. Very friendly and attentive staff. Nice touch at the end with a leaving bag with bottle of water and fudge.
Terrific hotel and pub with a lovely, characterful feel and just a few feet from the ferry across the Dart. Breakfast is a particular highlight!
Super freundliches Personal, tolle Lage, sehr nettes Restaurant
Rooms on the entire front of the hotel kept awake by people gathered at the front of the adjacent/connected building. They gathered at 1:30am and continued until confronted by hotel guests in the street at 3:30am. This, I’m told, is an on going problem..
Lovely old hotel in great location. Staff were brilliant.
No parking and Dartmouth parking options are dreadful.
Breakfast and dinner were good
Access to bedroom
Location was excellent. Cooked breakfast was phenomenal. Staff were excellent.
Stayed in the fisher room. It was horrendous. To loud, and horrifically warm. When a hotel room provides ear plugs the writings on the wall. Somebody started hoovering at 10.30 at night. Waste pipe boxing in in the corner needs insulating, quite often there’s a constant sound of running water. All in all I felt robbed by the cost and basically shut away in a favella style room
Great location and our room was blessed with river views. The room was very clean and comfortable with good quality bed linen and towels. My family slept well!! We were surprised the room offered us more room than expected. Breakfast options were excellent and varied and we liked you were even offered additional hot drinks!!! Overall the Banyard team were exceptional and attentive.
None to note.
Great location, fantastic staff. Room was lovely and very oldy worldy. It was a little small and not much space to put your cases and toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was superb.
Not much space for clothes and belongings. Pillows weren't great.
Fantastic location. Heritage building. Great breakfast
It’s an older building so rooms are small and the hallways are tight. Worth investing in some proper portable aircon units. We were there during a heatwave and the fan provided no relief.
Great location in heart of old Dartmouth and close to harbour side. Wonderful ambience inside and great staff. Food was excellent and great value for money. Highly recommend 😀
The room was absolutely beautiful and extremely clean, the food was very nice and reasonably priced for Dartmouth. The level of service was very high, all of the staff were lovely and went out of their way to be helpful. We will definately be going back.
Food amazing. Staff great. Room clean good choice of teas
No view
Character and friendly staff
Poor shower Not that clean
We loved our stay at Bayards Cove Inn. The staff are super friendly and very helpful and the room was very cosy and comfortable, even if it was a little on the small side but totally understand that is the appeal of the Inn, it is compact and so quintessential British! The restaurant is very good, delicious food and great layout. The location is superb, we could easily walk to all the attractions. The breakfast was excellent - I would definitely recommend staying here!
The service was exceptional. We made a mistake with our booking (entirely our fault) and the staff could not have been more helpful and understanding.
Welcomed on arrival very helpful friendly staff. Lovely building clean and nice vibes!
Lack of parking with lots of 1-2hr permits. Longest carpark staff was 4hrs BUT staff gave lots of options and information!
The staff were excellent. The farewell gift was a nice, unexpected touch
The stairs but only because I had a bad leg
The most beautiful authentic building with spotlessly clean bedroom & bathroom . The food (breakfast & dinner ) was amazing ! Highly recommend this hotel
No complaints at all
Absolutely loved the room, I was in the cabin bed and it was so cosy, lovely to a seating area in the room. Lovely breakfast.
Not a dislike, but if planning on eating in the restaurant, make a booking 🙂
A fabulous small hotel, great location, amazing food and wonderful staff
No parking but that’s just Dartmouth
Consistently friendly, helpful and professional staff. Excellent standards.
Nothing
The location and building are excellent with the inn being the second oldest building in town. The staff were exceptionally friendly helpful and cheerful. Some firemds joined us for dinner and all 6 of us had delicious meals served promptly and hot. Breakfast was very good and the doggy sausages provided for our pet were like Christmas for her. Parking is a bit tricky especially as it was raining but the location is very convenient for the ferry and shops especially the Salcombe Dairy ice cream shop,
Take care on the steep stairs if you dog pulls otherwise everything was realy great.
Très belle chambre avec bcp d’espace Confortable et décorée avec goût ils ont su garder l’esprit de la vieille maison
La chambre était à côté de la cuisine , un peu de bruit pendant la journée heureusement le service était terminé vers 9h30
Prima kamer. Schoon en uitstekend verzorgd.
N.v.t.
A lovely well kept boutique hotel
Parking in Dartmouth is always going to be a problem
The building is lovely and in a great location. The staff were all very friendly
Room lovely. Breakfast great Only thing could have made it better would be a view
Everything great
Lovely space. Lots of extra comforts and touches eg mini cleansing wipes, earplugs (not needed).
This hotel has many steps and even our suite was on two levels meaning we had to climb stairs from the bathroom to the bedroom. Would have preferrred to be warned of this as hotel was not able to offer an alternative.
Fabulous very old building with amazing character
Great location. Friendly staff

Location and friendliness of staff.
Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food ..
Nothing
Dat we er niet langer konden blijven. ;-)
Had the perfect weekend there! The breakfast was absolutely delicious! And the hotel is so charming, the bed was also very comfy! The staff was also super kind, would go again and would defintely recommend!
Really comfortable and clean, love how old it was

From the moment we entered Bayard Cove Inn we received a warm welcome. We parked outside Dartmouth and took the Park and Ride into the town. We were very pleased with the way our room remained historically authentic while having all the amenities that we needed. The competent and pleasant staff at the Inn helped us with all of our questions and made us feel welcome throughout our short stay.
I cannot think of anything.
Location - right next to the lower ferry. Lovely room . Very comfy bed and pillows
Nothing
Idk nice la
Nth la, nice lor
Breakfast was very good, lovely and clean and cosy
Parking could be a problem
Access to the town, Swcp and ferry
Having a noisy kitchen and chefs on the first floor next to the accommodation. Food ok, some staff moody.
Amazing location, extremely comfortable. Breakfast fab and staff were all lovely and extremely helpful.
Clean and very nice
Service was really excellent, as was our room and the food. A beautiful old building with so much character. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional, and dinner was the best we had during our stay.
Parking was difficult.
Everything was absolutely superb but the best thing was the friendliness and professionalism of every single member of staff. A very good vibe and you can tell that great care is taken over everything. Food was excellent.
The tv in my room was a bit temperamental and there was no towel rail at the wash hand basin but this is really nit picking. My stay was absolutely fabulous and nothing is completely perfect.
We liked everything and felt so welcomed
I loved the quirky old charm, the history and location all amazing
Nice room and a very comfy bed. The food was very good and the staff were very good
There was an iron mark on the carpet and the small blind was broken.
absolutely everything was perfect and stunning. The staff made our stay even more special.

Beautifully historic. Amazing location & staff
Excellent staff and décor.
Sadly missed the roast dinner on Sunday evening as it had stopped before our table booking time but no complaints excellent stay :)
Amazing location, lovely staff, charming room, fantastic food, attention to detail.
Nothing - there is no parking but that’s an issue in Dartmouth anyway.
Good food
Fantastic breakfast - brilliant staff
Nothing thanks
Bedroom was immaculate. Cleanliness could not be faulted. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. There was even a bonus of a complimentary goody bag when we left.
No parking, but this was not the fault of the venue, parking in Dartmouth is always challenging unless you use the park and ride.
Lovely friendly, welcoming staff. Characterful and quaint.
Excellent food, very helpful staff
We stayed here for two nights and it was excellent in every way. The staff and owners were incredibly friendly and helpful – nothing was too much trouble. Our room at the top of the building was lovely, spacious and very comfortable, and the food was absolutely incredible. The location is perfect for exploring Dartmouth and we would definitely recommend staying here.
The only thing to be aware of is that parking nearby is limited, so packing light is a good idea
Great location. Excellent breakfast. Overall good value for money. Staff helpful and professional. Room very comfortable.
Room a little small. Not much shelf space in the bathroom.
Cosy, lovely room, appreciated the prosecco for our birthdays! Delicious dinner, friendly staff Lovely breakfast
Needed USB plug for phone
Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location. Hu

Great location, food very good, staff very helpful, room very comfy.
Nothing parking but that’s the same for pretty much everything in Dartmouth
Staff are great. We were wet and muddy after a days walking and they were so helpful. Room was very cosy and well appointed and the dogs so well catered for. Great food too.
Can't think of anything.
This medieval building (originally a merchant's house) has been imaginatively and stylishly converted to a small hotel with lots of tasteful coastal-themed pictures. The rooms are small, but have everything you need and the bed was comfortable. It is very dog friendly and there always seemed to be a number of well-behaved and friendly dogs around, which give it a homely atmosphere. (We didn't bring ours) The hotel is close to the harbourside quay which we could see the harbour from our room (Raleigh). The staff are friendly and helpful. There was plenty of choice for the cooked breakfasts, which were very good. The bread is excellent (particularly the sourdough).
This hotel is not the place for peace and quiet. The walls and floors between the rooms are very thin and one is always very conscious of one's neighbours (who were mercifully not noisy in our case). Our room was also above the entrance where there is seating for the cafe and is between the next door pub and the ferry, so most of the time you have people talking below (the windows are single-glazed). The parking is also not ideal. They say there is plenty of off road, but this is mostly limited to 1 or 2 hours with a small amount for longer in off-season (but which is almost always taken). Be prepared to pay an extra £12 a day for the car park which is 10 minutes walk away. There is a very limited choice for breakfast cereal (coco-pops, cornflakes and granola). No muesli and only non fat and fruit yogurt.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and warm.
The room is tiny. To be expected in such an old establishment, but with big suitcases (travelling from overseas) it was uncomfortably small. It wasn’t the right fit for us, but that is on us for not being more thorough in our research prior to booking.
room was great ,very comfy bed. good breakfast. evening meal was very good
I forgot some stuff and checked out. But they treat that so kindly and super helpful. Thanks.
Nothing
The interior design is adorable! The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was delicious. Location was perfect.
Walls are a bit thin so can hear to hallway easily. But neighbors were respectful.
We loved it all. We rented 6 of the 7 rooms and we all had a marvellous time. The dinner was gorgeous and the breakfasts excellent. The staff were all exceptional and rooms were so individual and special.
Friendly staff, excellent location.
Lighting in room, very dark and to warm.
